I remember when you did projects in an alley behind where you lived. You had very few tools back then, yet you created some really lovely pieces. You acquired tools bit by bit, as you have now made this your job, but your creativity, and the skills you have honed over time, make your pieces special.

@@Flippingdrawers Well if _I_ had a RUclips channel with 150,000 subscribers, I could find the time to refurbish furniture, too!
Clearly too many people haven't been watching you from early on when you had like $200 worth of tools and were simply winging it as you learned. Furniture has been built for millennia -- if you "need" a laser cutter to make it, then you're better at coming up with excuses than doing a project.
My recommendation for people who are afraid to start a new thing -- just friggin' do it. I don't do furniture, but do a lot with laser cutting and 3D printing (and some CNC) and painting. Each new project gets better than the last. It's the only way to do it.
My last project had exactly zero to do with laser cutters or any other expensive equipment. I made a "Pennywise Halloween Pumpkin" with one of those styrofoam pumpkins from a craft store and a tub of foam clay (and some paint). All told, cost was maybe $30. And it was FUN and came out great.

Another inspiring transformation-handsome work! This was a wonderful teaching episode. Your explanations are narrated so clearly.! You made it seem like we could learn to do this craft. 😃
I enjoy seeing your beautiful work shop and discussion of your tools & choices as much as your quality work. So many drawers…. Thank you for showing the laser cutter, again. The samurai or knight statue in battle mode in your opening shot near this labor intensive piece is humorous & clever.
You are a knight of woodworking & restoration. Love the cats visiting & hopped on cat nip. Mondo (Mandolin) is so stunning! ~Loved him weaving in & out of the drawer slots. Charming.

Turned out great Jay. What a serious amount of work. You certainly made life hard for yourself with that one - 15 drawers? I got so many laughs in this video. I laughed when Mando tapped the dresser and "This is the way" came up on the screen. And then Hugo at the end after the catnip. Aw, we have a catnip toy and when we take it out Otis seems immune. He doesn't even pass any remarks on it. Willow however immediately starts rubbing it with her whole body and then bounces round the house like a lottery winner on acid. Great to see that Mando gets on well with the other kitties. He's so handsome (don't tell Otis I said that because he thinks he's the most handsome boy).

It's nice to see you have a supervisor to help you with the work you do . Mando is perfect for you he gets along with the neighborhood cats . It's always nice to see someone else that loves cats as much as I do. We have always called my cat supervisor Bosco . He was 9 weeks old when I got him from a local animal shelter . I just wanted to say that chest turned out nice. Knotted pine is not always the easiest furniture to work with . Those krots can be hard to sand because they are very rough . I know a lot of of furniture has veneer on it . All the furniture in my house is solid wood. You always do a good job on everything you work on . I've seen you work on pieces that I thought were a lost cause but you made them look great . Prayers and Love 💞 From Oklahoma

You have been a great inspiration! I'm disabled and I live on a remote island in Southeast Alaska. Supplies here are quite limited so I have to rely on Amazon and eBay so I'm waiting for several more items to arrive. I have three projects already in my house. My only work area is inside my house so that's one serious limitation so I think I may get a circular saw guide.
I absolutely love how much you explain what you are doing and why you are doing it that way. I have recommended your channel in a Facebook group. Thanks to you I'm fairly confident about making small repairs to veneer. Due to physical limitations I'll have to stick to smaller more manageable pieces, end tables, small coffee tables, desks etc.
    P. S. I just ordered an iron to raise the fibers in dings 2:42

      @RevdUp.Art.Fotografer 8 месяцев назад +7

That’s wonderful that you are taking on these projects.
Because you are doing these inside…
PLEASE use water based and non-toxic things. PLEASE GET A MASK that will prevent you from breathing in dust and fumes (even the ‘safe’ ones) these things can AND WILL wreck havoc with your sinuses, lungs, and points further in.
Most folks that do refinishing, restorations, and even repairs don’t take as much care of their bodies as they should. Further on down the road they will develop issues & won’t connect those dots.
I have some disabilities myself. I can’t do furniture like Jay does, but I can do other things which I do. I am very careful with what products I use because I have seen my lungs have issues just from working around other things in the past. I connected the dots. I don’t want anything further to happen. I already developed asthma.
So, that’s my plea. I hope you do projects, have fun, AND be safe and take care of your body.
      ✌🏻Kevin

Also what I like is you could do similar dressers like this and make them match whatever furniture style you have in any room. You could round all the edges and style and treat the wood, handles and legs to match almost anything. I need about 6 of these things!

Looks like a catty re-enactment of the Sistine chapel! 🐈 Catnip is fun!
Nice job, by-the-way. Please ignore the tools complaining they don't have the tools🤔! For me it's patience that I lack over all - it astounds me how much you have for every piece of wood. Thank the 🌳🌲🌴 gods for all that wonderful wood & thank you for loving it.

Absolutely way too COOL! I love it! I thought you were going to repaint it and I'm so glad you didn't! And the Jacobean stain - PERFECT! - it's one of my favorites. Thank you for taking suck good care of the "neighborhood kitties" shows just how much of a kind soul that you have😊

Jay: what a functional piece and you can just roll it around anywhere. It looks like it can hold a lot of stuff. Good looking. Carol from California

Красота изделия зависит от задумки и умения мастера + инструменты,
что не мешает воплотить задуманное.Спасибо за видео.

I would call this dresser like apothecary. With all the many drawers n sizes. I think it sharp as all get out. Love the two tone colors of wood n the wheels are awesome. It has a little of industrial look yet it’s soft looking too. Great work! I love surprises n you always surprise me at what your plans are for the piece you’re working on. I’m so happy that Mando approves of your work. Oh Jay, you have good taste in furniture. ♥️♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟🐈‍⬛
