They called 40 officers for a guy delivering newspapers, that’s insane.
Well they did it due to the false report but yeah
An officer said his life was in danger, so yeah, everyone is showing up. Especially when it’s the boss.
His job should be in danger but it probably isn’t

“You guys need to walk him home, follow him home, he needs help, he needs assistance.” 😂😂😂 Favorite part 👏🏼
Hahaha loved this part!
A cop bringing a false report, against a working man, regardless of his skin color, should be pursued by the law to the letter. They are making the victim, the suspect. These cops shouldn't even be left in charge of guarding a garbage can. They are trying to exonerate the Sheriff on the spot.
its a hate crime nothing less
Against ANY man I wouldn't care even if the guy never worked a day in his life.
Exactly. If we only focus on the race, it stays the focus, these dude's need to be fired and charged.
@IamMike86 lol since when does a racial slur need to be used for a hate crime to be committed? If you commit a crime against someone, because of their race, then it’s a hate crime… lol your logic here is crazy.
This sheriff should certainly lose his job, and maybe even face legal consequences. But I certainly don't believe this was a hate crime. If anyone could provide evidence as to why they believe it was, it would be appreciated.
I love when cops don’t understand why people are mad for being harassed for no reason and then act like they’re hostile.
They purposely use psychological tactics to Distress people so they can make up a case. My grandpa left law enforcement because of the dishonesty

I think in this situation that the officer is attempting to de-escalate with limited training.

A false report should be held as more serious. They need to fired that so-called sheriff. He's actually a menace to society.

The sheriff needs to be fired. If he's lying about this then everything he does on a daily basis is under scrutiny.
Needs to be charged. Saying something like that could get someone killed.
You can't fire an elected official.
The sherriff swatted another human being and that should be tantamount to making a death threat.
But considering when governor Rick perry was asked why 75% of black males on death row had been exonerated, most posthumously, if he thought they need to revise their policy, he stated, "no, I'd kill them all over again"

@@violettfem5093 Not only that, but the stain of suspicion can actually negatively effect a person's life even after they are exonerated. I remember the Atlanta bombing for the Olympics. They suspected the guy who discovered the bomb, and started to clear people out, of being the one to place the bomb, trying to become a hero. The bombing took place in July, and it wasn't until October that he was exonerated. But his life was irrevocably changed, and many people never really paid attention to who was really responsible.
A life is at risk. 40 cops surrounding a guy on a paper route!!!!! No one was killed. ***That’s just a fortunate outcome***

Minutes later, however, when interviewed by TPD Officer Lawless, Sheriff Troyer contradicted the statements he made on the 911 call:
“I specifically asked 01/Troyer if O2/Altheimer ever made threats toward him or displayed any weapons. 01/Troyer advised O2/Altheimer never threatened him and he did not observe O2/Altheimer with any weapons. 01/Troyer described that when he confronted O2/Altheimer at the listed address it was clear he, “wanted to fight.”

Paper man, not paper boy! 😂
That guy needs to be put in jail for calling in a false call and should be stripped of badge and pension.
America, the easiest place to hire a hitman. Just call 911 with false claims and accusations.
Whew sad, true n 😟 scary
Let it be known: that is in fact a crime, specially if you're not a cop
Get the ---- out with that hyperbole
And it would be paid for by the taxpayers.
Paid by taxes...
Only thing that needs sorting out is taking the sheriff to jail
Love your show,, thank you for your very wise content 💜
im so glad i pay taxes for cops that waste time harassing a newspaper guy
He basically SWATted him. He's a LEO, and knows exactly what he was doing, and what could have happen. Murder by cop. This criminal sheriff needs to be prosecuted.
Yeah, I get the feeling that the sheriff wanted the police to roll in and shoot the "suspect" out of hand and then everyone gets their stories straight. Fortunately the Tacoma PD officers didn't do that. I would have given the police an A- at best.

Not only the lying, but if that Sheriff followed him around and didn’t observe that he was delivering papers, I wouldn’t trust his observation skills in any situation.
Here in Denmark you can go to jail for false 911 calls.
Sheriff can't deduce that he was doing a paper route, the sheriff needs to be fired, he's inept.
I agree.
The two need to trade places.
The guy delivering newspapers is trustworthy enough, to serve the community as an honest sherriff ...
and, the sherriff is barely qualified to deliver newspapers.
Its going be hard. It will have to be up to the courts to make that call. Depending on the severity of the charges.

What they fail to mention is that NOTHING you say will be used TO HELP you in a court of law.
"Law" is so loosely used now. Title 18 Section 15 US code 241 and 242 has never been challenged to my knowledge. Hence, how CAN there be courts of "law"? Food for thought 🙃
ofc it does, giving a reasonable explanation of your actions is sometimes to your benefit, as this channel has explained many times before
also that remaining silent without explicitly saying you are exercising your right to remain silent, can be construed in court as guilt.
@@patricktrimble7954 Exactly. You need to explicitly invoke your right to remain silent, and DEMAND (not ask) Assistance of Counsel for your defence (ie, a lawyer).

@@jamesdoakes4956 You're the one that's wrong, there was indeed 40+ cops that responded to this "scene" from two locales and that fact was then confirmed by the police departements themselves. The video clearly states it, aswell as reports in local news.

As a resident the TPD. Good job Tacoma. You make me proud. And i NEVER thought I would ever say that about any police!

Absolutely.

Just about every arrest report he ever made since he became a cop…

So a racist cop falsely accused a black man of threatening his life and well being, and we as a society are just ok with that. The paper boy should be given a A++. Also, if the paper boy would’ve called 911 first and reported a suspicious vehicle following him while he was performing his job, I highly doubt the responding officers would’ve believed the paper boy once they found out that the stalker was a fellow officer.
