Thanks again for the very detailed and informative review. You deserve many applause for your hard work. It is rare to see this level of testing on RUclips. Keep doing the great work.
I've gone in three considerable directions in as many days on my next 24-70. I've been gut punched by the (mostly) negative reviews of the 24-70 ART and after finally accepting I went and ordered the Canon 24-70 II but had a change of heart due mostly to the price and now I'm almost completely sold on the Tamron. Many thanks Dustin!
Do you still have the Tamron 24-70 ? Are you liking it? I'm looking for an upper tier 24-70 2.8 as well and am considering it. Shooting on a Canon R10. I had theTamron Di VC USD 100-400mm f4-5 6.3 and could not get that thing to focus correctly. I tried it on DSLR and my R10, even with the tap in console trying to dial it in. After probably 400-600 shots, I finally threw in the towel. I know the 100-400 isn't the same focal length, but I'm talking Tamron in general. For this 24-70 2.8, I'm hoping for something really good more for the lower light indoor sports/family stuff. TIA for any insight you may have.
Great series of reviews Dustin - super useful. I`ve read so many speculative comments by people claiming the G1 and G2 are `optically identical` and the only difference is build quality. Your experience with the G1 and test results with two of the G2s shows this is not the case. Tamron is seriously upping their game . . .
Greetings from Victoria Canada! I’m about to get this Tamron!! With you’re exceptional analysis and seamless dialogue; it solidified my decision to acquire one! Thanks Dustin! Top shelf channel!
I want to thank you again for the er... humanity of the reviews. I mean, everyone can stick to chart, statistics and lab tests, but the general user experience - I think that is particularly valuable. So I always wait for the last part with closing comments and final thoughts.
Thank you so much for the great review. When I bought Canon 6D, I watched so many reviews and Videos about the 24-70mm lenses. After i watched your videos, I've decided to purchase Tamron 24-70 mm G2 I am enjoying this great lense from Tamron. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH for your work! I love that you put ALL the details in the video, like naming your pictures so all of us can read all the info about the shot.
6:48 - stabilization is a breaking point. When you traveling, you don't want to bring with you and set tripod for every shot. Thanks for confirming it for me one more time.
Your concise and fair reviews is the reason I wait to purchase anything new until I have seen A DA review on it. Thank you for another fantastic review series Dustin.
Great review series Dustin!!! I just rented this lens for a weekend photo shoot for my Nephew's rehearsal dinner. I was amazed by it. My quick test proved the same thing that Dustin came up with. The VC works extremely well and the light transmission is amazing. I was able to hand hold down to 1/13th of a second and still get a sharp image. When I tested it against my Canon 24-105L F4 it was always a stop better with light transmission. Testing hand held in a dimly lit room at 1/80th and F4 the Canon registered 3200 in auto ISO and the the Tamron registered 2500 at the exact same settings. When opened up to 2.8 the ISO was 1250. I was sad to send it back. The images from the weekend were spectacular and now I want to buy this lens!
Thank you Dustin, for doing all of the hard work for me, and a much more through job I might add. I just bought the Tamron lens, and so far I like it. I always liked Tamron going back to the film days, but back then, they were not as comparable to the original manufacturers. The next series of yours that I need to study is the AFMA adjustments to see if I need to do this.
Dustin, I just finished watching all of your videos comparing these lenses, and I feel much more informed on the pros and cons of each option. Mainly I was focused on the differences between the Sigma and the Tamron G2 because they fit nicely within my budget. Much of my research left more questions than answers, but thanks to your in depth testing, I've decided to pull the trigger and try out the Tamron as an all around lens for my Nikon D750. I believe they will pair nicely and it will match my shooting style. Thank you for your high quality, unbiased outlook. You've helped me tremendously!
@@mildredcintron3340 just as what Dustin described, of course there are some weakness like focusing. But the sharpness and color aberration did perform great compare to other competitors. It’s a great lens that can hold your need for a while.
Dustin is so seriously more than great so it is hard to find comments related to the gear tested because all the comment include appreciation to him =))) and yes, this comment too :))
Awesome review well spoken and covering all angles when comparing. I’ve owned a Tamron 35mm prime for 18 months and am very happy with its performance. Your review has made up my mind. Off to the camera store now.😊
Greetings Dustin from Malaysia! I'm a Nikon user. Their previous non VR 24-70 was a legend. New VR version is great but sadly the price is exorbitant. I found this Tamron fits the bill as an alternative to Nikon's current version. Tamron has improved significantly, period. The price alone will shift Nikon and Canon shooters to it alone. Already, this lens is pin sharp in daylight shooting, better still when I attach my NiSi ND's on it. Think Tamron's 70-200 G2 will be equally good. Thank you for your comprehensive review of this Tamron 24-70 G2. You're a real pro Bro
Hi Dustin, your conclusion follows from your observation which is a good thing; compared to others who evaluate the details and then somewhat deviate in their conclusion. Your hard work is really commendable. The way these videos come across is like we are part of your team and we see your methodology/process, how it unfolds to its conclusion. You are very fair but at the same time respectful of the efforts of the manufacturers, i.e. you don't bash them even though you do point our their weaknesses and/or flaws. I have lenses from Canon (L), Tamron (G2s), and Sigma Art, and my experience pretty much agree with yours as far as their overall behavior is concerned. Canon is still king when shooting in ideal situations but Tamron shines in less than ideal situations (like handheld shots and in dark scenes). If I have to use the tripod then I pick up my L lens, no question in my mind. Everything else? I go with my non-Canons. Also, it's a good thing you mentioned the economic aspect of these lenses. Photography is already expensive to begin with, so anything that helps buyers make a good purchase is really appreciated. The majority of photographers don't have an unlimited access to money so we are always looking for that balance between price and performance. In this particular case, it was VERY obvious from the tests that there is only a minor gain from Canon. And that gain is quickly offset by the VC of Tamron. Looking forward to your next reviews. Keep up the good work.
I am always happy when I'm lens shopping to find that you've reviewed it because you're hands down the best reviewer I've found. You're thorough, well balanced, straight forward and honest. Couldn't ask for more than that! Thanks for putting out such great quality content Dustin.
Thanks Dustin,...You are who I look for when checking reviews. Your info is great and I trust you more than some others out there. Keep up the good work
I wanna thank dustin for spending much time with 24-70 canon , tamron and sigma lenses. After your deep review i choose Tamron 24-70g2 and i'm very happy with this lens on my 5d mk3.
Thank you for this great detailed review. The real world comparison is absolutely essential when it comes to camera gear. I'm a hobbyist so I don't need the top of the gear but it was very interesting to see how it compares to the Canon. I guess I consider myself a pro-newbie and was actually amazed at how much stabilization made a difference on the Tamron, which leads me to think I'll get way better shots with the Tamron as I'm more of a run and gun shooter when it comes to stills. Your review seemed very unbiased as opposed to all these sponsored "reviewers"
@@DustinAbbottTWI because of your review, I bought a used lens for this Tamron. Not just this but also the Tamron 70-210 f4 although the latter does have the quirky defocus and refocus whenever you use the longer focal length and you shift focus from a near to far object. Unit already has the latest firmware but still happening. Nevertheless, was not a deal breaker for me as the quality of the lens was still great overall. No regrets.
Thanks for the comprehensive review series on the Tamron 24-70 G2. And for knowing VC stands for Vibration Compensation (not "Control"). Not to put any ideas in your head, but I switched from Canon to Nikon in 2012 for the D800E.You'll be welcome here on the Dark Side should you ever wish to switch. In the mean time, keep up the great work. It's clear that considerable time, talent, and energy go into your reviews. It is appreciated.
Thanks for the review. I have the d750 and looking to upgrade my Nikon 24-120mm f4 to a 24-70. Going to order a G2. Thanks again for the extensive reviews.
Thank you Dustin for your reviews, i was thinking to buy the tamron 24-70 g2 but consolidated it after your reviews, got my lens 2 days back and i must say i am very happy with the purchase, i have been shooting with the canon 24-70 L2(rented when required) from quite some time. the VC on tamron is very useful, just the other day i was able to get sharp images at 2.8 iso 8000 1/15 shutter too. all the points you mentioned about the canon L2 lens is true but as you said in the real world where this lens will be used mostly hand held i think Tamron is the best bet to go ahead, i shoot with a Mark4 and during videos the VC is very helpful, overall to say its a very good purchase and thank you for your detailed reviews :)
Hei dustin , thank you for that fantastic work , effort and time you put reviewing the tamron 24-70mm lens and all other lens to . It help us so mutch wend is time to chose and bay a new lens . Again thank you very mutch
I bought one of these used a few weeks ago and the AF made a TERRIBLE squeak when focusing to infinity, much to my disappointment. But I used it for a few days and loved it so much that I just bought a brand new one and it gets here Thursday. After some Google searches, however, I found that this seems to be a relatively common issue with this lens... so I'm hoping against hope that it doesn't become a problem. Also, that shot with the hands on the piano keys is absolutely amazing! Love it love it love it.
Great review Dustin. As a wedding photographer I was slightly concerned by the amount of barrel distortion this lens may have shooting at 24mm. Would it really be an issue for wedding and portrait photography?
i decided to go with the sony new (573.00 gray market) 16-50mm f2.8 ssm aps-c lens to replace my full frame sigma previous generation sigma 24-70mm f2.8 because the only other full frame A mount lense for my sony is the carl zeiss ssm11 at $2,100.00....hope it works!.....you sold me on the tamron 24-70mm f2.8 G2 BUT tamron does not make this lens for my sony "A" mount!......... tamron lost a bunch of sales to sony "A" mount users....... I believe you are on the top of the food chain in what you do, light years ahead of the others in your presentations and your delivering of the factual information........i trust in your opinion and thats saying alot for me.....
Great review as always Dustin. The only thing preventing me from buying this lens is that the barrel telescopes to zoom. A telescoping lens sucks in air as it expands, like a syringe sucking in fluid. This is a huge design flaw for dust and debris to enter and settle on the internal lenses. If this did not expand I would really consider this lens.
Going to do MFA on mine. But also going to PhotoPlus Expo in NYC and visit the Tamron booth to see if they see what I see. Thanks for posting these reviews.
Thanks again for a very detailed review! Your photos at around the 1:30 mark look fantastic! Do you have a video talking about some of these beautiful photos you've taken (set-up, gear, advice, etc)?
+Andrew Jarman I have some segments called “what caught my eye” where I cover some of that. The difference in a lot of those photos is that they were ones I had processed, whereas most of the photos I share in reviews are pretty close to out of camera to show lens performance as opposed to showing of my processing techniques.
Mr. @@DustinAbbottTWI , just got my Tamron 24-70 F2.8 G2 . i had a chance to use the first version but this G2 is far far way better than the first one. i was using Canon original 24-105mm F4.0 L IS combining with 70-200 F2.8 IS ii for my wedding photography and that 24-105mm could not match the color or sharpness of 70-200 F2.8 . now with this Tamron G2 version the color and sharpness is totally matching and can not be more happy to use this lens. i did not go for canon 24-70 F2.8 ii and i think i did the right thing. may be i will miss the range till 105mm but can manage that. thanks a lot for your review. hope to keep in touch. all the best with your channel
Feel so happy when see you detailed videos about the lenses. Please suggest me which one is better in this category between sigma and tamron. Thanks a million in advance.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Bravo Dustin - another killer review! I am often conflicted if I should move to a slightly faster 2.8 and narrow focal range from my Sigma 24-105 F4. I love the Sigma focal range and the images are very good but this new D850 seems to highlight a lens' limitations.
Thank you for a detailed review.. What do you suggest btw Tamron 24-70 G2 and Tokina 24-70..? I just made my Tamron buy after watching your review. It may perform better on my canon 5DMIV for landscape..! Thank you...
Hi Dustin, thanks for another excellent review. Is there any chance of you trying out the Sigma 14mm Art in the future as I am intrigued about what you will think about it before I commit. You’ve never given me bad advice yet so here’s hoping!
Thank you Dustin for your review, I liked and subscribed! Question please: which is better overall for stills and videos, the Tamron or the Sigma lens? Also do these lenses require lens firmware updates or adjustments out of the box? I noticed that currently the Tamron version is back ordered everywhere. Thank you!
I found the Tamron to definitely be the better lens in that particular showdown. A bit better optically, and but a much better image stabilization (very relevant for video). I liked using the Tap In Console to make sure I was getting the most out of the lens.
@@DustinAbbottTWI Fantastic, that's great! I've only done camera body firmware updates before, but never done any updates to a lens before. I switched from using Canon DSLR camera bodies to the new Canon R5. First problem: Canon RF lenses or lack of availability to be more precise, LOL! Even if I'm willing to cough up the premium pricing for Canon RF glass, all the usual suspects for retailers are all of out stock and back ordered everywhere. I'm still slightly tempted to get the Canon RF version of the 28-70 f2.8 so I don't need to use the RF to EF mount adapter. Plus I've read that using non-RF lenses (such as EF glass) only provide 2 axis image stabilization instead of the usual 5 axis (not sure if that's accurate). I just recently ordered the Tamron 70-200 f2.8 G2 zoom lens which I will receive this week, and I figured having the companion Tamron 28-70 f2.8 zoom will make a good dynamic duo pair. Well, that's my theory at least! I have no idea about the "Tap In Console" device, so I'll have to Google that. Appreciate your time to make reviews and giving feedback!
Great video. It definitely helped me to make my choice for the Tamron 24-70mm g2 - instead of the Nikkor 24-70mm VR. Even if on sharpness the Nikkor might be a bit better at 2.8, it's just a question if this 'bit better' is worth that much more money. I personally don't think so and that was at the end a wise decision. The money I saved I invest now into my next trip to Siberia in February :)
Greatest review I have seen so far, thanks a lot! What do you think - is the Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 VC G2 only making sense at a full frame camera, or is it also doing a good job at a crop-camera like the Canon 80d? Greetings from germany!
It's definitely a great choice on full frame. On crop it is okay, as the focal length isn't wide enough in a lot of situations (that's nearly 40mm with the crop).
Thanks for reviewing this lens to death :) based on your definitive review - I bought it for a vacation trip to thailand malaysia and Singapore and clicked thousands of images and boy are they full of life. I am very happy I put money in this lense and also saved some in the bank. The jpg images from my 5d m3 are also so good without vignette effect and chromatic aberration. Amazing lens. Thank you for all the wonderful work on reviewing these lenses and the wonderful thankless videos. If this channel was a paid channel - I would pay! You should consider the paid option for exclusive tips videos. You'll have many takers !
flic.kr/s/aHsmF3TCx9 All of them are taking on moving subjects with me also walking around or from a moving vehicle. Zero post processing as they are JPG straight from the CF card. I'll be developing some of them in LR and will post an update!
Hi Dustin. From Jakarta, here...! Love your review. I am Canon R6 shooter and thinking to purchase this lens. I wonder if the firmware needs to be updated via Tap-in console prior to using this lens with R6? Also, in 2023, would you still recommend this lens?
The nature of the focus system on the R6 should mitigate the need for focus calibration, but it is possible that a firmware update is necessary for it to work properly via adapter. I haven't tested that combination.
Masterful job. Thanks for your efforts. I use a 5Ds so I"ll probably go the Tarmron route if I choose to get a 24-70mm. I know it's for many people the most versatile lens. But I've been meeting the majority of my needs with the 15-30mm plus 70-200mm with a prime (45mm) in the middle. All Tamron, which is not something I necessarily set out to do. Each time it just seemed to be the best option available, with extra weight given to stabilization and price. I blame you.
+michael The 24-70 is a nice lens to go between the 15-30 and the 70-200. I had a 50mm (canon f1.4) that I sold, and I still have a 35mm (sigma art f1.4), but most of the time, having that 24-70 is just too damned handy. Especially for travel!
You are 100% right about the versatility. I was hoping to avoid getting three big zooms but I'll probably spring for it eventually. To be honest I wished we had some different standard zoom lens ranges. I'd rather be wider than 24mm but I don't really need to be as wide as 15 or 16. Something like 20mm would be great. Plus I don't really need f2.8 for the whole range. f4 would be fine. So something like a 20-85mm f4, paired with a 135-300. Two zooms only. Plus a couple of fast primes. But now I'm totally making stuff up.
Thank you, Dustin! Very comprehensive review and helpful. My dream is to buy a Canon lens, but the reality is that I need something within budget that doesn’t sacrifice quality. You’ve definitely helped me consider Tamron as a viable option. Thank you again!
Hi Dustin. I'm about to make a purchase for my eos r. Between this lens and the RF 24-70. Massive price difference but it's always nice to future proof. I'd love to hear what you think. Tamron seems like a great option but the rf does too. Hope you get this.
I’ve heard that the RF lens is excellent, though I haven’t tested it yet. The G2 will have to be used via adapter but will work fine. I would choose based on your budget restrictions. If you can afford the RF lens, go for it. It will probably be your most used lens. If you have another lens you would be interested in also, you could do the G2 and put the extra money towards lens #2

Thanks Dustin,...You are who I look for when checking reviews. Your info is great and I trust you more than some others out there. Keep up the good work
That's good to hear
some of the images taken with this lens are sublime. very beautiful rendering.
Thanks. I take pride in being a photographer first and reviewer second.
I wanna thank dustin for spending much time with 24-70 canon , tamron and sigma lenses. After your deep review i choose Tamron 24-70g2 and i'm very happy with this lens on my 5d mk3.
+Alessio Gennaro I’m glad its working out for you
Thank you for this great detailed review.
That's the real world factor with lenses with stabilization that is often overlooked.
Tamron seems to be my next mirrors to my any body using, in terms of performance and value. Thanks for the review. Great job DUSTIN.
Glad to help out.
@@DustinAbbottTWI Thanks so much. Sure i will let you know if there any help i need in terms of photography too..:)
Great review. Just what I needed to decide on a 24-70 for event for my good old 6Dmk2. Thanks so much!!
I'm glad I could help out :)
Really liked all your reviews! Really really detailed and very professional and unbiased.
Glad you like them!
Thanks. I definitely got a little laugh out of the VC comment.
Some professional reviews call it as vibration control..now i know the truth
Last year we bought the lens mainly because of your review.
And we are very happy with the lens on our Nikon Z6II as well.
Thank you
Great to hear!
Just watched this review and it is superb. I couldn't ask for more your detail blew me away.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the review. I have the d750 and looking to upgrade my Nikon 24-120mm f4 to a 24-70. Going to order a G2. Thanks again for the extensive reviews.
Glad to help out.
Your reviews are the best, bar none. If and when I buy this lens, I will make sure to use your Amazon link. Thank you sir for what you do
Thanks for the support!
Doing the handheld comparison was important, I believe, to painting the full picture
No one does a better review and research than Dustin ❤
Thank you. I hope that's true!
Another excellent review. This lens is my favorite lens, in spite of its weight. The G 70-200mm is also a great lens.
Lenses like this are just so useful.
Hei dustin , thank you for that fantastic work , effort and time you put reviewing the tamron 24-70mm lens and all other lens to . It help us so mutch wend is time to chose and bay a new lens . Again thank you very mutch
You're welcome.
It's a great lens...I hope you have no real problems with it.
I just love your in depth reviews, you put a lot of hard work behind this and your opinion is actually precious. Thank you !
Glad you like them!
Great review Dustin. As a wedding photographer I was slightly concerned by the amount of barrel distortion this lens may have shooting at 24mm. Would it really be an issue for wedding and portrait photography?
I doubt it. I've used the previous generation lens for many, many weddings without issue.
thank you Dustin you pretty much answered all my questions.
Glad to help!
I just ordered this lense today. Between this lense and the Tamron 18-400 I've exceeded my photo bugat this year.
That's easy to do when great new lenses are released!
i decided to go with the sony new (573.00 gray market) 16-50mm f2.8 ssm aps-c lens to replace my full frame sigma previous generation sigma 24-70mm f2.8 because the only other full frame A mount lense for my sony is the carl zeiss ssm11 at $2,100.00....hope it works!.....you sold me on the tamron 24-70mm f2.8 G2 BUT tamron does not make this lens for my sony "A" mount!......... tamron lost a bunch of sales to sony "A" mount users....... I believe you are on the top of the food chain in what you do, light years ahead of the others in your presentations and your delivering of the factual information........i trust in your opinion and thats saying alot for me.....
You helped me decide all my purchase. I bought this lens after warching your video.
I'm glad to help out. Enjoy your new lens.
That doesn't leave you a lot of options at this focal length, then.
Just picked this glass up. Thank you for the numerous reviews.
My pleasure.
Well done Dustin! You took in everything, great comprehensive job!
Thank you very much
Going to do MFA on mine. But also going to PhotoPlus Expo in NYC and visit the Tamron booth to see if they see what I see. Thanks for posting these reviews.
That's a good idea. I know they plan to be there.
The difference in a lot of those photos is that they were ones I had processed, whereas most of the photos I share in reviews are pretty close to out of camera to show lens performance as opposed to showing of my processing techniques.
this G2 is the best all around 24-70mm f2.8 on todays market, cost plus sharpness plus AF focus, plus plus plus....smile
Have it the Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 VC G2 and love it
It's a nice lens.
Thank you for doing these reviews. As always, elaborate and crystal clear.
+Gert Germeraad Glad to hear that!
Another lovely review!
By the way... What a beautiful place where you live. Love it.
Thanks for spending your time in these great videos.
I'm definitely blessed to live in a beautiful place.
Seriously man, you are awesome. Your reviews are so detailed and accurate. Thanks so much! I think that this is the lens that I need.
Glad I could help!
after seeing your review i have bought Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 G2
And how do you like it?
It's arriving on friday. after using it i will inform you . and thanks for the reply .
Great review. You covered a lot more than just listing the specs like most.
Glad you liked it!
Best lens review! Informative, to the point!
Thanks!
Great review, as always! The Tamron really looks like an incredible lens. I may upgrade from my 24-105L (v1) soon, who knows.
It's a solid value.
Thank you! I just purchased one and can't wait to put my hands on it over the Canon version. Your video has helped a lot!
Glad to help out.
Love your reviews. Detailed, real world applicable info. Well done!
Glad you like them!
Feel so happy when see you detailed videos about the lenses. Please suggest me which one is better in this category between sigma and tamron.
Thanks a million in advance.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I prefer this lens to the Sigma ART
Another well done review. Convinced me that this is the one for me. Hopefully the landscape lens I have been looking for.
Enjoy!
Good review, cheers.
Glad it was helpful!
Fantastic Review, especially after all your efforts in exploiting this lens. Thanks so much.
You're welcome.
Bravo Dustin - another killer review! I am often conflicted if I should move to a slightly faster 2.8 and narrow focal range from my Sigma 24-105 F4. I love the Sigma focal range and the images are very good but this new D850 seems to highlight a lens' limitations.
+SVA1 That’s one lens I haven’t used, so I can’t really comment on it.
Thank you for a detailed review.. What do you suggest btw Tamron 24-70 G2 and Tokina 24-70..? I just made my Tamron buy after watching your review. It may perform better on my canon 5DMIV for landscape..! Thank you...
I haven't used the tokina, so I can't comment.
Great review and detailed as always. Thank you.
I bought the Tamron last week :)
Enjoy your new lens.
Excellent video!!! Loves his stuff..... Question Can this Tamron zoom made for
Made for...?
It’s a general purpose lens so it’s for anything and everything!
Excellent review! But your shots are even better
Thank you
Hi Dustin, thanks for another excellent review. Is there any chance of you trying out the Sigma 14mm Art in the future as I am intrigued about what you will think about it before I commit. You’ve never given me bad advice yet so here’s hoping!
+Gareth Dawes It should arrive any day now
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the work you do. Will you be testing the Tamron 35mm-150mm?
I’m working on it now. My image gallery is already up and running. bit.ly/Tamron35_150IG
That sounds like a worthy tradeoff.
Great review.Should I expect good results using the Tamron 24-70 on a eos 90D (Canon) crop sensor body?
You will, though the focal range isn't as natural on APS-C (everything must be multiplied by the 1.6x crop factor.
Dustin thank you. What a great review. You have so much knowledge and present beautifully.
Thank you very much!

All of them are taking on moving subjects with me also walking around or from a moving vehicle. Zero post processing as they are JPG straight from the CF card. I'll be developing some of them in LR and will post an update!
Thanks for the kind feedback. In the future I will consider more ways to offer services to my viewers.
Great review as usual. And great photos.
Thanks again!
Getting for for Filming.. A TRUE BEAST..
Enjoy
Yes! Was thinking it will make a good video lens.
What is your experience with the vc in video?
great video! i just bought it, but i have to wait for my d850...
Enjoy!
Liked for the great summary. Loved for the kittycat
+Smaakjeks K LOL - thanks
Great review. Would you recommend this lens for the new canon R bodies?
It would work fine, yes.
@@DustinAbbottTWI Great thanks.
LOL- probably guilty there, as I own all of those lenses myself.
+michael
The 24-70 is a nice lens to go between the 15-30 and the 70-200.
+michael
Sigma seem to have a few wild hairs up their butts with their Art series. You never know when they'll release a new weird zoom range.
Ha, I've gone all Tamron for shooting with my Nikon D850: 15-30mm, 24--70mm G2, 45mm and 70-200mm G2. Oops, one Sigma: 120-300 f/2.8
Superb video as always, thank you Dustin
You're welcome
Planning on getting the Tamron for my D7500 ( yes it's a crop camera)
It’s still a great lens, even if the focal length isn’t quite as useful on crop
Thank you, Dustin! Very comprehensive review and helpful. My dream is to buy a Canon lens, but the reality is that I need something within budget that doesn’t sacrifice quality. You’ve definitely helped me consider Tamron as a viable option. Thank you again!
I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Very good work, thank you. And what would Max have to say about the lens? :)
LOL - he's a big fan ;)
Great review. Thank You! I`m currently looking for a workhorse 24-70 for my D3 Nikons
Sounds like a nice match.
Dustin Abbott thank you so much for your response.
Do you have a side by side comparison of the G1 & G2? Bullet point list of the improvements would be awesome :-) enjoyed the video.
You'll find some of that in my written review: bit.ly/2470DA
another awesome review,,, Your one of the best on RUclips Dustin, if not the best!
Thank you very much
