Awww, love this movie. My college sweetheart and I went to see this on our first date. Four years later we were married, and we just celebrated our 24th anniversary.
Huge congratulations. Wishing you guys many more years. :)
I have to warn you, I've heard relationships based on intense experiences never work.
Congratulations, BatBrick
We saw Princess Bride for our 1st date. The marriage didn’t make it past ‘95 though.
So, a relationship based on an intense experience *can* last? Sandra Bullock lied to me!
@@flatebo1 I literally never thought of it that way. Funny :)
The part with the cans in the stroller always gets everyone.
Only in L.A.!
For me, it appears that the police escort got a little to far ahead of the bus!
Sandra Bullock's reaction in that scene is so genuine, you just feel awful for Annie for a little bit.
I've seen this movie many times already, and that part (and others) STILL gets me! That's how fantastic this movie is! No matter how many times you see it, you're still on the edge of your seat!
Speed has to be one of your most energetic reactions; great job Dasha!
Love action flicks that are impossible to take seriously, start movie, brain turns off, 2 hours of fun.
Many don't give Keanu the credit he deserves for the roles he does. If anything, he commits to the part without going all method actor. "John Wick" for example...Keanu spent months doing combat weapons training to give his action sequences that extra bit of authenticity.
He became very, very good with guns after that training.
He can't do accents well, but other than that I haven't noticed any weak spots in his acting.
@@nsasupporter7557 everyone craps on him??? And Adam Sandler has made some great movies... not everything has to be Schindlers list...
@@nsasupporter7557 you almost spelled it right. If you don't like ADAM SANDLER, that's a personal choice. But I'm pretty sure his millions and millions of dollars would disagree with you... btw Adam Sandler produces deuce Bigelow. So I mean... 🤷♂️
Keanu and Sandra, separately, were on the Ellen show and talked about how badly they were crushing on each other during filming (hence the chemistry 🥰) but neither one got the courage together to ask the other 💔😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Such a great movie! Check out another earl Bullock movie called "The Net" :) lots of fun too :)
Oh wow, The Net! There's a blast from my past that I completely forgot about. Fun movie, for sure!
When Speed came out, Keanu Reeves was mostly known as Ted from the movie Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. The Matrix changed that for a lot of people because now a lot of people know him as Neo. Maybe even John Wick.
I watched that free one on youtube called Chain Reaction. First time I saw the after credits and instead of Ted "Theodore" Logan's/Keanu's famous "Whoa!" they had Fred Ward doing it. Keanu, Morgan Freeman and a bunch of other actors you'd recognize these days. I always thought it was a good movie, although other people will point out it's silly parts. Just like this movie with the flying bus, but hey you gotta let some go to enjoy the rest.
+Snap Rowsdower: Remember it was Point Break in 1991 that it was the movie that turned him into an action star.
@@restymervinponio4026 It's true, that's where he started getting work in action movies, but in the public mind, he was the artist formerly known as Ted.
Great reaction Dasha!! 14:06 - That is actually American Football. 17:49 - What they meant there was, that the highway has not yet finished being built. The gap that is not finished, is the 'section'. 18:20 - 70 miles per hour is 112.654 kilometres per hour.
Yes!! Always love me some Keanu. Speed is such a classic action film that I don't think they could ever remake it properly. Something about 80s and 90s action that just isn't matched even by today's standards and tech.
I don't know. Have you ever seen the father Ted version?😄
ruclips.net/video/4uOX_hbkAMc/видео.html
@@speleokeir brits arent funny
They can, but only if they use practical effects. The character would still be different though just because it isn't Keanu.
Haha this is the most hyped Ive ever seen you during a reaction. Speed is a non stop adrenaline rush thrill ride! One of the best action movies of the 90s and it still holds up today.
“She’s charismatic as she is beautiful.” I think the same thing can be said about Dasha. Her channel is one of the best!
5:37 "Okay. These two cops are just amazing."
These aren't your run-of-the-mill cops, Dasha. They're members of an elite _unit_ of cops called a _SWAT_ team.
"SWAT" stands for "Special Weapons and Tactics." These guys maintain higher standards of fitness and regularly train to deal with much more _specialized_ threats than traffic and _parking_ violations.
Also, they are actors and it is scripted that way...
Thank you for another great reaction to a great movie. You remind us of the impact that it had on us when we first watched it.
FUN FACT: Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock had huge crushes on each other, while making this movie and they were both single at the time. Neither of them knew how the other felt. They didn't find out until decades later. :)
I dont normally follow or care about 'Hollywood romance', but we all missed out on a real adorable couple there. ☺️
My wife and I were laughing our asses off at your dialogue!
Dasha: “Oooo faster… OMG!” “Come on, you need to move faster… you need to move faster… not with this attitude, you know…”
“Come on come on come on come on do it, do it faster!” “Come on come on come on come on come on… It’s working it’s working it’s working! Ooooooohoohoooo!”
Your reactions were hilarious Dasha. Thanks for putting a huge smile on my face!😄
P.S. If you like Keanu Reeves I highly recommend point break which is one of his best films IMO.
Yes! Great recommendation
Considering how much Dasha likes action films, and how great an action film Point Break is, this is a really good recommendation.
Yes
Dasha, ignore the haters. This reaction was perfect, yes including the swear words. Never change, you're awesome just the way you are. ♥️
Yes, keep it natural.
Good movie 🍿🎥 ! 🇺🇲🇮🇹🇲🇽
No one needs to swear ten times a second. I don't care what they're watching.
Speed! I remember seeing this in the theater and I was surprised because it was the first time I had seen Keanu in this type of role. It’s a great action movie that never stops. Love you Dasha!
@@davidz3879
And before, as well:
POINT BREAK 1991
The annoying tourist guy, Doug? Was played by Alan Ruck who was in Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Star Trek Generations.
Among several other roles. He was also Rabbit in Twister.
When this came out my mom actually called me to tell me I had to go see this movie. Good advice on her part. Btw, a mile is about 1.6 kilometers so 70 mph is 112ish.
Edit: Don't bother with Speed 2. It didn't have Keanu because the scrip was bad. And it takes place on a cruise ship. I couldn't even be bothered to get though it when it was on cable.
Dennis Hopper was quite the lunatic, but that was his acting style and in every movie he's great at it!! Speed was no 1 at the box office that year..it was one helluva summer ride!! FYI, Keanu played football for the Arizona Wildcats (He almost went pro)Love your reaction, stay sweet!!
Do you have a source for playing football or attending university in Arizona? All the sources I can find agree he played hockey in high school in Toronto and considered aiming to go professional in that, but decided to go for acting instead and moved straight from Toronto to California for his acting career.
I love it when Dasha said, "Oh shit" three times.
the guy was in shock....."i already seen the airport".....ROFL
14:52 I've never seen Dasha. make THIS face before! 🤣🤣
xD Wow.
I really love story lines in action films where it feels like the good guy is not gonna win and the villain is stopping them at every turn until finally they find a way to stop the villain at the end and win. Another film like that which I would also recommend is "Con Air"
Good call, Dasha would LOVE Con Air.
Jack: "There's a _bomb_ on this bus!"
Annie: "Um... 😊 well, _thank_ you, but..."
One of the passengers on the bus is an actor from the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day off just a few years later! Also the tape loop and a reference about the movie Speed was in an NCIS TV series episode.
I think you figured out, the "speed" part isn't just the fast bus. It's how fast this movie makes your heart race. A great action movie. Great reaction.
One of the best 90s action movies. Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock have terrific chemistry. 😎
One of my favorite Keanu Reeves action movies!
Before Reeves was cast as the hero, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harrison Ford, Kurt Russell, Tom Cruise, Charlie Sheen, Tom Hanks and Alec Baldwin were considered.
Ellen DeGeneres, Halle Berry, and Meryl Streep were considered for Annie.
Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro and Jack Nicholson were considered for the villain.
It was nominated for 3 Oscars
Best Film Editing
Best Sound Editing
Best Sound Mixing.
It won the last 2
It was a box office and critical success, making $350 million dollars against a $40 million dollar budget.
It's now considered to be one of the greatest action movies ever made.
I'd like to see the version where Tom Hanks is the cop, Meryl Streep is driving the bus and Jack Nicholson is the bomber.
Halle Berry would have been good. 😍
Whoa. Those are some wild choices for the cast.
loved this one, even the impossible bus jump 🤠
6:56 "He blew himself, what a crazy fuck" 😂😂
Jeff Daniels is one of those actors where he may not be incredibly prolific, but when he IS in a role he's fantastic. He was especially great in Gettysburg.
The Mythbusters tested the "Everyone over to THIS side of the bus!" turn (among several other parts of this movie). They actually COULD have made it without danger of tipping, and not needing to shift weight (the highway jump as shown in the movie would NOT have worked, however. The bus they used to test it couldn't even get up to 70mph).
Fun fact, Keanu and Sandra secretly had a crush on the other, which is why they have such great chemistry in this movie.
The sheer amount of damage done by Jack exceeded the ransom.
human lives? anyway, better to cause more property damage than to give a terrorist what he wants
30:46 "Is there, like, _emergency_ stop, something?"
That's what Jack just tried. It didn't work.
That he can go from Bill and Ted to this and the Matrix is pretty remarkable.
The same can be said for Jeff Daniels, realizing he was in Dumb and Dumber the same year. I forgot he was named Harry in both lol
@@krisfrederick5001 Apparently, Jeff Daniels took on the Dumb and Dumber because he wanted to do something different than his usual serious roles.
@@nsasupporter7557 Terrible idea lol
@@nsasupporter7557 Oh, Will Smith doing that.
"This gives me one more phobia - using elevators"
"one more"
im with you there lol
"I don't think it's healthy.. but.. what can you do." 🤣🤣
This is a classic and iconic 90’s action movie. It’s a great popcorn movie that still holds up today. It keeps you on the edge of your seat right up until the last moment.
It was a lot of fun watching how invested you became in the story. I’m glad you got to enjoy it. ✌🏼
Dennis Hopper really knew how to ham it up as a villain.
14:05 Football, not baseball. 👍🏼😎
Another great action movie starring Keanu Reeves (and Patrick Swayze) is Point Break
Good recommendation. I think she’d really enjoy that one.
18:30 1 mile = 1.609 kilometers. 70 miles per hour = 113 kilometers per hour.
Great reaction, loved it!
The talkative guy on the bus was Cameron from Ferris Bueller's Day Off :)
28:08 There's a mechanism on trains called the dead man's switch. It's found in the cockpit. The idea is, if you're operating a train, you have to keep constant pressure on this mechanism or else the _brakes_ will engage and the _train_ will stop. Now it doesn't take a whole _lot_ of pressure, but that pressure must be applied _continuously._
There are _three_ ways it stops being applied: the operator dies, the operator loses consciousness, and the operator is removed from the cockpit.
This scene counts on the audience to be _ignorant_ of some part of this. There is _no_ way that a train might _accidentally_ continue running if the operator and/or some part of the cockpit is shot. It is _much_ more likely that the brakes will accidentally _engage._
Great reaction! You seemed really invested in this movie. Almost like you were there
Dang! Dasha dropping F bombs all over the place. 😂🤣
They put dye packs in the bag. It makes the money unusable.
All modern elevators have the same braking system that was invented in 1853 by a man named Elisha Otis (who started the Otis Elevator company). Before his invention, nobody would trust a lift box suspended by a cable.
To prove his invention worked, he performed a demonstration in front of a large crowd. He built a high rig with a cable and a box. He was lifted high into the air, then ordered them to cut the rope. He fell a few inches before his elevator brake stopped his fall. The modern elevator was invented.
Another interesting note. Before the elevator was invented, the most expensive apartments were on the FIRST floor and got cheaper as the floors went up. The top floor was often the cheapest floor. It's still this way in places like Colombia in buildings without elevators.
The elevator of course changed all this. After the elevator was invented, the values of the apartments switched. Now, the high priced units are always the higher floors.

Great reaction Dasha ... & congrats on breaking the World Record for the most amount of... oh f**ks, oh s**ts & no no no no's in one reaction 😂 ... it will take some beating ! 😂
Great reaction video 👍one of my favorite movies of all time have a great day and hello from Arizona ✌😁👍
18:31 ....."70 miles per hour. Is like 200 in km?"...... No. I don't know how much it is, but in "Back to the future", 88 m/h were translated as 140 km/h, so I assume that 70 m/h is about 120-125 km/h (which I think is the maximum speed for this type of bus)....
70mph x 1.6 = 112km/h. In the UK we have a weird mixture, as speed limits and speedometers are in MPH but truck tachographs are in KM/hr so I got used to translating on the fly.
I use 50/80 as the basis, the add or subtract 16km/h for each 10mph up or down from that, so 70 is 2x16 over 80, or 80+32=112. All speed limits in the UK are multiples of 10, so that is all that is needed, although obviously if the need arose 5mph is 8km/h so you can get pretty accurate in your head even for intermediate speeds.
I think they have to give her license back now, she proved herself - Dasha. Hilarious
This was such a FUN reaction!!!
Bad guy watching football.. Dasha: He's watching baseball now..
Keanu and Sandra were also in a really cool movie together later called "The Lakehouse"
Dasha is the greatest and I am freaking serious right now.
This film was the classic action packed and lots of fun and entertaining to see. Keep it up Dasha and thanks for entertaining us 😁
Dennis Hopper (the bad guy in this movie) has a long distinguished acting career. He goes all the way back to Rebel Without A Cause with James Dean. He was also in Giant, Water World, and was Billy (a much nicer character) in Easy Rider.
He was fun in My Science Project...
And excellent in TRUE ROMANCE.
@@Blue-qr7qe And brilliant in River's Edge, which Keanu is in.
May I say that Dennis Hopper (The bad guy) did a freaking good job in this movie!! 👍 Watch True Romance(1993). Peace!!
Dasha - I'm shocked that you didn't recognize Cameron from Ferris Bueller's Day Off!
The director Jan De Bont did also Twister (1996), another great one filled with action! 👌🏼✌🏼
😃 [bomber watching *football* on 2 tvs] “He’s watching baseball now?!” 😌You’re adorable.
Ah, Speed is a great childhood memory of mine.
That tourist guy that keeps making you laugh is Cameron from Ferris Beullers day off :)
I love how excited and invested you got in the story! It makes the reaction all the more fun to watch. Thanks for sharing so much great content with us, Dasha! You're a delight every time. ^_^
I always liked this movie, I saw it in a theater when it first came out. This was an awesome reaction, which made me smile many times.
Great reactions to this well made action film, Dasha!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽50 Miles Per Hour = 80 Kilometers Per Hour. 70 Miles Per Hour = 113 Kilometers Per Hour. I believe the speedometers on buses do not go as high as on cars.
Well, buses aren't built for that kind of high-speed driving
my favorite film of the 90's used to watch the life out of this movie in 1997 when I was 5 years old.
Exciting movie. Love the soundtrack. Don't watch the second. You are welcome.
Looking back on this that jump the bus made was so ridiculous. But back then it was just fun.
Do you recognize Joe Morton here, from Terminator? He was a scientist there; here he's a cop. He is the police supervisor who asks Jack how many lives he has after the cart goes under the wheels.
The bus jump was filmed on the ground, but it really jumped 100 feet, so it could have actually jumped a 50 feet gap in the freeway.
Homer Simpson: I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to SPEED around a city, keeping its SPEED over fifty, and if its SPEED dropped, it would explode! I think it was called, "THE BUS THAT COULDN'T SLOW DOWN."
I think this is possibly the sweariest Dasha video so far. I'm here for it.
Hi Dasha. Speed is one of my favorite movies of all time. Glad you enjoyed it. Take care
Such a joy to watch this one with you, Dasha. So many views in so little time! You must be doing something right.
I love this movie, and I loved watching your reaction to it. Speed is an absolute adrenaline rush by design, and it makes no apologies for it.
You know, I don't think that you've watched Rocky IV yet. I know that you've reacted to the first two Rocky movies, but you still haven't reacted to Rocky III and IV. I'd like to see you get back into the Rocky franchise. It's definitely worth your time.
This movie is just old school intense action from start to finish. Also has some nice feel good moments. And man Dennis Hopper just nails his role he's having so much fun.
Might want to check out Point Break some time coz it is an amazing movie. Coz Keanu is always a win.
Great reaction!
I wanted to suggest reacting to Blade. I remember you liking Wesley Snipes in Demolition Man even though he was the villain. His portrait of Blade is fantastic!
Dasha, I love your reactions. If you cry, I cry with you. And if you are happy it also makes me very happy too. Love you Dasha! Good night!
Great reaction Dasha! Fun fact: Back in 1994 when this came out the LA Metro was not yet operational. In fact it was under construction right where the movie ends, in front of the Grauman's Chinese Theater. It was wierd seeing the movie there and then stepping out into the street literally where the movie ended. 🙂 BTW I highly recommend SKIPPING Speed 2. The sequel was complete garbage!
Speed on a cruise ship...😆😆😆
Oh, and no Keanu Reeves.
She said the thing! 🤣 100kph=62½mph

Just for reference, Dasha, 1km = 5/8 mi. So, 50 mph equals 80 kph. When they jump the bridge, 70 mph equals 112 kph. If your car's speedometer goes to 200 kph, then this would be 125 mph. I've had to use both systems as well as nautical measurements, so my brain is addled enough now that all three systems somehow seem natural to me.
13:41 "And if it's a, um, like 9:00 a.m, now, right? So there is traffic jams on the freeway. This is the time when _everyone_ goes to work."
😳 Oh. Dasha, that's very astute. I've seen this movie a few times and I've _never_ picked up on that.
You’re not the only one that has the John Wick pencil thing stuck in their memory. I know one other guy that has the pencil thing in his head forever.
It is to my eternal sadness that I was too young to see 15 certificate films in the cinema when this was released in 1994. I'll never forget my big sister coming back from seeing it with her friends and raving about how good it was. When I saw it as a video rental months later it quickly became one gf my all time favourite action films. I think it's near flawless - especially that exhilarating Mark Mancina soundtrack.
Love the Reaction!!! Speed is just another lunch rush here in America LOL!!! The baby Cart Can scene is the best!
Fabulous as always Dasha. Keep charming us and doing a good job. Great Video. Keep em coming.

Just came across your channel watched this reaction and fell in love with your channel!! You are awesome love your reactions
Oh Fuck ! 😉What a reaction, glad you enjoyed Speed. Keep up the great work Dasha.
I haven't seen this movie in soooo long. Not since I was young. Sandra was one of my first movie crushes and Keanu has come so far as an action star. You seemed so genuinely invested in each intense scene haha 😄
Amazing reaction. 😄 You were so into the movie!
I love your reaction to this movie. And 50 MPH is about 80 km.
Yes it makes you feel excited when you haven't ever seen it. Watching for 2 plus more times, you know what happens and can watch it calmer after that and enjoy it. Watching it with you though, I was worried about you.
No, Dasha. Subways trains run along the same track, they don't turn around and can't collide with other subways. They can be driven from either end, so when they reach their last stop the driver just walks to the other end and drives from there. Something Jack should have thought of to get the train to stop. If the controls aren't working on one end they can still use the brakes and speed controls on the other end.
i haven't had this much fun watching this movie since i saw it in the theater.
Love your reactions. They are honest and you always seem like you are truly having fun. Loving the movies choices so I won’t advise of any.
