Peak Cage! This is pure unintentional parody of the action genre and it’s still brilliant. From “ put the bunny in the box” to “ I’mmuna show you god exists” with that accent is pure comedy gold!
Her reaction to Johnny-23's death 💀 was hilarious 😆 "Oh what a shame, right?" She didn't waist half of a half of breath. Her whole demeanor changed 😆
Steve Bruscemi never disappoints
This is a great action movie. Also an added bonus we get Nick Cage, John Malkovich, Steve Buschemi and Danny Trejo all giving 110%. It has a nice pace but then the finale just goes on overload, its so 90's it's glorious.
One of Steve Buscemi's best roles. I was convinced the little girl was going to die as well. It was one of the movie's ironies that the worst criminal had an actual epiphany, and chose a new path.
I totally forgot that Dave Chappelle was in this movie. I used to love this movie I watched it a million times. Crazy
One of my top 10 movies of all time! I always cry at the end though when casey says "I have a picture of you".
90's had so many good action films. The Rock, Face/ Off and Con Air kinda made 90's Nick Cage action trilogy of awesome. 90's had so many other good action flicks too: Under Siege, Air Force One just to name few iconic ones.
Fun fact the plane crashing into the casino was real, the Sands was due to be knocked down so they allowed it to crash through the actual casino.
John Malkovich played Cyrus the Virus, he's also in the excellent action film "RED" starring Bruce Willis and the sequel "RED2".
Quite possibly my favorite Nic Cage movie, just so damn entertaining throughout, filled with great actors, fun characters, great over the top action with not a single boring moment. I've begun to appreciate movies like this far more nowdays as they're truly the rare breed of knowing what they are and having a ball with it.
Another fun film with John Malkovich (Cyrus here) -- also starring Bruce Willis from Die Hard and The Sixth Sense -- is Red (2010).
The first time I went to Vegas they were filming Con Air. I didn’t seen any of the actors or filming but they did have the set with the plane in the front door of the casino. It was interesting.
Brilliant...and other Nicolas cage classics include 'the rock' and 'face off'. Look forward to them.
Thanks Dasha... I had forgotten just how much fun this movie was. If you liked this one maybe try Nicholas Cage in "The Rock". I think you will enjoy that. 🙏☮❤
As a car lover it always hurts my heart when they destroy that 1967 silver corvette convertible. Such a beautiful car and today it’s worth around $150,000. This is a good example of a classic 90’s action movie for sure though.
This is my definition of "popcorn flick" I went to the theater knowing nothing about it, enjoyed the hell out of it, and it's still a movie I can watch when I don't want to take things serious (like Spaceballs).
Man what a peak time for Nick Cage. The Rock, Face/Off, and Con Air all within a two year period.
Great review of an awesome movie that just gets better after each viewing!!!
DASHA + 90’s FILM = INSTANT CLASSIC
