John didn’t “disregard” anything. He called police not only in Ocilla, but also in neighboring counties and he consistently kept calling from 2009 all the way up until 2016. None of them took him seriously and none of them bothered to investigate it. Even the GBI ignored him the first time he tried to tell them.
Now with that said, how many cases have gone unsolved and how many families had to die without knowing what really happened to their loved ones because of shoddy and negligent police work?😤

I am so sorry fkr your loss. My daughters classmate Kara Kopetsky went missing in 2007 and in 2017 her remains were found in a south Kansas City wooded area by a mushroom hunter, near my cousins house out in the country. In 2017, seven month's after Jessica Runion was murdered, her remains were found in 2017 near Kara's. The boyfriend, Kylr Yust killed Kara one week before a permanent retraining order hearingl was to take place. Jessica disappeared one night after leaving a party with Kylr.. We knew he killed Kara but the town could never find her. A mushroom hunter finally found their remains, thank God! He finally went to trial and was found guilty of both murders and is serving 45 years in prison.

How on Gods earth would she have seen me a total stranger saying, Tara. I want to tell you something but, I don't know how. I am sure right away she was probably thinking, This guy wants to ask me out? When actually I want her to know that she should not be living alone looking as beautiful as you do. You would be amazed at how common it is for people to murder and get others to help them dispose of the victim's body, particularly by younger offenders and family members. Even more brag about commiting very violent crimes to many people and not one of them lifts a finger to notify authorities.
In far far too many people, peer acceptance is much more important than doing the right thing. They see it as scoring points with someone they see as cool. Look at the high school photos of these two; Bo is the dork while Ryan is the cool one. Bo was evidently known as a pathological liar, a sign of someone desperate to be admired and accepted. Finally, Bo probably did not like the police and is not going to go assist them against an admired buddy, which is why he bragged about what he did. Finally, I doubt that he knew what the penalty was for helping to dispose of a body as a deterrent; Georgia's penalty is unusually high for this. Guess time will tell but I'm inclined to think, based on other evidence, that Bo did not actually participate in the killing. Ryan, on the other hand, I think is on his way to becoming a serial killer, if he isn't already.

IRWIN COUNTY, Ga. - Irwin County Superior Court Judge Bill Reinhardt has sentenced Georgian Ryan Duke to the maximum allowed by law, 10 years after a jury found him guilty for concealing the death of Tara Grinstead, but not guilty of her murder nor assault nor three other charges.
Duke is immediately eligible for parole due to time served.
Duke, had confessed to killing the popular teacher in the small Irwin County town. Duke told investigators in 2017 that he killed Grinstead burned her body to ash with the help of a friend.
Grinstead’s family told Thomas they are devastated; prosecutors were defiant as the Duke family and their Atlanta-area based legal team become emotional.
Duke lowered his head and appeared to cry as five not guilty verdicts washed over him.
The only conviction handed down to him was for concealing the death of Grinstead.

People, put better locks on your doors that lead to the outside; you cannot trust anyone anymore!! and make sure that you have a sliding lock that does not rely on a key to open, when you are at home, use that sliding lock, normally the slide lock has a part that turns down, so cannot be opened by a credit card, or other devices; make sure you have good windows too. always have a light on all doors that make it harder for anyone to stand there and try to break in without being seen.

We have been duped by GD Lawyers and Politicians to believe it uncivilized to utilize Capital punishment on such Offenders, instead society must carry them for the rest of their days or sometimes must accept early release. It is uncivilized to allow unquestionable guilt of Homicide such as this to go unpunished immediately.

I think they "blacked out" and Bo told Ryan he was responsible for the murder and now they had to get rid of the body together. If you listen to up and vanished a witness reached out to them a described an interaction they believed was with Ryan one night while leaving a bar. The witness said he saw Ryan having car trouble and appeared to be very drunk, so he offered a ride/help and the man replied with something along the lines of "yeah I better, the last time I got this drunk they told me I killed someone". What stuck out to me was that he specifically said "they told me I killed someone".

I've listened to Payne Lindsey's podcast...it was good. I grew up in Atlanta, and to be honest I never heard of it , the Tara Grinstead case till last year. 2021. When I was a kid, there was a case of a lady kidnapped from Lenox Square...Mary Shotwell LITTLE...I'd like to see or hear a podcast on that case.

They are not admissible in court anyway. They are usually only used to rule someone out

Are those things reliable? I read a figure of 92% reliability, but that would mean 8% false, and on what measure?

This is so sad!! I'll keep her family in my thoughts and prayers... Regarding the case. I think they both should be charged with murder. In some states if you are involved in a robbery that results in death all parties involved are charged with murder and that's the way it should be!
