They were both drunk and making bad decisions like drunk people do. What ended up happening is terrible, but the blame can't be placed on the friends.

The fact that she didn’t get in the car with her friends just because Nia took off walking and Jazzy didn’t want to leave her alone and wanted make sure she was safe so she took off walking with Nia is sad . I've been left at a bar drunk TWICE and thinking back to the people who left me, they fully were not my friends then and are currently not even my friends now. I definitely had an angel by my side both times. There were two crimes committed here if you ask me. You never leave a drunk person in your party alone.

One of the friends in the group should always be more sober than the rest. I mean, they were driving ffs. I've had a friend try to fight me drunk, but I had enough sense to know she wasn't in her right mind. We took her keys and called her mom to pick her up. I had to pull her from getting into a strangers vehicle. We aren't friends anymore, but I could never live with myself if something bad were to happen to her. Please NEVER leave a person behind in the group who can't take care of themselves. Yes, it's not your responsibility, but as an adult human, it kind of is. May Jassy rest in peace. My condolences to her family.

I went out with my best friend years ago. I drove. A guy she had been seeing met us. Some how she ended up in my car and I ended up walking around Atlanta. I walked around for a while until I found the car garage I parked at and realized she had taken my cars My phone was in the car. We lived an hour away. I ended up finding a hotel that was open about 4 hours later. Got in contact with my boyfriend who got me in contact with my best friend. She had went back to our home town with that guy bc “ she couldn’t find me”. I’ll never understand why she didn’t leave my car and ride with him. The homeless helped me that night! They probably saved my life. And I’m so thankful for them. I walked around all night with a knife hidden in my hand scared for my life and devastated that my friend left me. She gaslit me into believing it was all my fault. This video hits close to home bc not only did I experience something similar, my friend had the same name, and my birthday is February 24. RIP to this beautiful girl. Ladies, don’t leave your friends. Ever.
She didn’t leave you a car and ride with him because that would've jeopardized 'her' control and safety. she was being selfish and would have not been able to leave when she wanted. she wasn't getting stuck in some man's control whom she just met. she covered her safety well but, gave no thought about you at all. Her "friends" left her for dead, literally. You never leave your drunk friend alone EVER. In that moment they didn't care about her well-being. Now her child is without a mother. I wish she had better friends however I am happy that her loved ones were able to get justice for her untimely death.

I was in her age and into late night partying waaaay back in the late 80's/early-90's, but back then women would NEVER do crap like this. They'd always leave at the same time, if you were talking to one you had to get her number immediately if the friends were going because otherwise they'd send 1-2 over to drag her out, even if she wanted to stay. I guess times have changed, sad.
