This hit me so hard especially when his teachers and coaches said if you were looking for the most intelligent, respectful, kindest and hardest working kid, you couldn’t find anyone better than him. His teachers and coaches were sobbing while speaking about him.
This was so senseless for a child to lose his life because he attended a house party.
I lost my 10 yr old little brother to a brain tumor and no day goes by that I don’t wish I could see him grow up into a great husband and father. He was an amazingly kind and gentle kid also. It’s a parent’s worst nightmare especially being a parent myself.

and he said in his testimony "the passenger was making avertive movements". whoops. freudian slip. the passenger was obviously not behind the wheel. seems to me he had just admitted to aiming specifically for the passenger. not to mention the car was clearly reversing for quite sometime prior to him shooting. can we say pursuit? he had no reason whatsoever to think the shooter was in that car given the large number of ppl walkin and numerous cars at the scene. it couldve been anyone at that point. imo, the proper response wouldve been to go to his car and follow the vehicle so he could properly pull them over and search for weapons. in fact, the other officer, officer Gross, said "get that car" which to me means go get them, not shoot them all. Gross also said he retained a lawyer for himself cuz he felt they were pressuring him to testify a certain way, they being the police dept. Given that he testified he wasnt in danger, we can deduce that they wanted him to lie and say he was in danger to cover-up for the gun-happy cop. smh. this conviction was absolutely correct and we need more accountability in these situations. the only way its gona stop is if theres a clear msg sent that you will be prosecuted.

He demonstrated a escalated hot-headed willingness to unload a weapon and instrument of death on a innocent, harmless teenage child. The world and that community is better off with him behind bars! The fact that he pulled his gun on a woman, especially with kids in the car, because she rear ended him seems incredibly relevant to me. No, it doesn't imply at all that he was out looking for blood. But it does demonstrate a pattern of willingness to use force first, ask questions later. It demonstrates an indifference to life that people who don't carry guns doesnt have and well trained gun owners also doesn't have. People who don't carry and people who do carry, who are well trained and well disciplined, aren't going to rely on the ability to threat or kill someone in these same situations. We aren't going to jump out the car in a road rage situation and not care about who's in the other car or what they're capable of, because we aren't going to think to ourselves "I have the upper hand because of my gun". And if we think someone is trying to run over us or someone we care about, we're going to move out of the way or get the other person to move....like normal people.

My issue with this is he made a mistake on the job. He had seconds to react. Oops he choose wrong. Does the Walmart employee who packaged my online order go to jail for theft because they packed 2 items when I ordered only 1? How about when a restaurant forgets part of my order? Isn’t that theft as well? No one wants a job where a mistake is going to land them in prison. A mistake. A split second reaction time is all you get, not contemplating for hours before. This needs to be fixed so that mistakes and criminals can be separated. In no other job other than law enforcement do ‘civilians’ face dangerous decisions that happen fast and are life threatening in this manner. Mistakes happen, accidents happen. There have been plenty of cases that weren’t accidental. There needs to be a distinguishing feature.
