I hope they sterilised her before releasing her. She is probably living under a pseudonym now under police care, given a new Id. That’s what happened to two child killers in the UK, John Vendables and Robert Thompson. Despite the fact they were young children when they killed this child, on their release as adults they were given new lives. Sickening!
Because of the severity of her case, upon her release her was given protective custody. From what I know currently living in Las Cruces, she's been given a brand new name a new identity everything....

I remember my mother telling me that she saw this case on the news and was hugging 1 month old me tightly and was in tears. She even mourned and prayed for baby brianna. She would’ve been 21 like me :( she’ll never be forgotten

I kinda agree with you, but in my opinion I feel like death is a easy way out I rather have someone remember what they did and why they did it and never be free. Like I rather have them rot in jail and remember what they did they to take the easy way out which is death.

Others say there in the court laughing. When a person purposefully cause harm like this trust me they don’t deserve the breath they take and sure they need to go to help and face consequences there before they manipulate people and say they repented. What is more insulting is when they say they’re sorry or they “found God” well this life you took away didn’t get a chance to do anything right?

I’m a retired sheriffs officer, I answered a call earlier in my career that involved a child. That child was beaten and burned with a cigarette. I lost it seeing that little boy. It took every fiber in my body not to beat the father to death. I had to leave or I would have. I stayed close to that child we have become family, my son and him are as close as brothers can be. That child is now 40 and has 2 boys of his own. His father was murdered in prison. He went unclaimed and buried in a state mass grave with unidentified, unclaimed people. Anyone causing any harm to children shouldn’t been allowed to continue to be in our world.

I lived in El Paso, TX when this crime took place. I will NEVER forget when the city laid this baby to rest, the cage that was placed over her resting place by what was left of the people “related” to her in order to keep people from leaving things for her. Didn’t work. The area didn’t care. We still left toys for her. And when her “incubator” was released, she was chased out of town and into hiding. She was a disgusting human and isn’t worthy of the air she breathes today. I hope she hears that baby girl’s cries in her nightmares every single time she closes her eyes for what she did and what she allowed to happen to that precious angel.
I was living in El Paso when this happened, as well. It still makes me so sick hearing it for the hundredth time. I can't imagine the torture and pain that Briana endured. 😢

Brianna would be my age today, 22. we were born less than a month apart, but she never got to grow up. while my parents were loving their new baby, Brianna’s were torturing and killing theirs. this case is truly horrific and was so hard to hear. may you rest in eternal peace, Brianna. 💔

Unfortunately that’s not what happens. Stephanie had a long term girlfriend in prison then got out for good behavior. She was given a new name for her protection and her mother picked her up from prison. She had a job at homedepot I believe she is living a wonderful life. She might even be remarried now or still surrounded by family.

Automatic sterilization as a very minimum. There is no nice way to say it but there is no correcting that type of issue with someone, in my opinion.
As a mother I’m so terribly disturbed by the fact that people would actually do things like this to a child. This is shocking.

I was taking criminology courses at city college and I remember our Teacher playing a video of the same story and he said if you can't handle seeing this then this career is not for you. I walked out of that class crying and I never went back. I really admire and respect people in law enforcement that have to see things like this.
The grandmother should be held accountable too because she knew but didn't do anything about it. She chose to look the other way and that's just as bad. She could have taken pics and called CPS but she decided to cover it up as well.
Hard to believe the mom is out walking free. All of them should be at minimum serving life. RIP little Brianna.

Well, the mother should be passed child bearing age by now…and with that kinda charge on her record, hopefully she’ll never be in a position to take care of children in any capacity.
From the reports I read, she had a blossoming relationship with another woman during her time in prison. This monster has not suffered enough. She was given a new identity and cell phone upon her release. It makes me sick how she gets to move on yet I have nightmares over the harm she caused her child.
I’m thinking of suing her for damages. I would love to be part of making her life unpleasant any way I can.
@@Aerie925 you don’t need to play devils advocate. She was given a new identity to protect her from the public and she isn’t walking around with a sign on her face of her charges. Yes, she could potentially be in a position to be raising more children. “Hopefully” isn’t enough.

That’s a beautiful picture of Brianna. It was altered by a caring police officer. It erased all the hematomas from the picture. Brianna didn’t have a single picture where she was battered and bruise. If anyone deserved capital punishment it was these 3 evil subhumans.

These monsters will literally abuse a baby days, weeks and months on end and then call 911 once they are not breathing anymore!!!!! And then try to lie about the damage as if medical professionals can’t see prolonged damage to a body with exams and X-rays. It’s sickening. What goes through their minds to be so evil and then expect others to believe them or have mercy on them. I blame the grandmother too. She heard that poor baby’s cries for help and did nothing. This is sad and horrific.

It took me awhile to actually get thru this case. I had to pause it multiple times just to compose myself. I have never felt this sick watching & listening to a case. I honestly do not understand how this thing of a mother got granted parole. Given a new name & moved to Texas! All 3 of them should of received life without the possibility of parole & her grandmother should have received a minimum of at least 25 years if not more. Fly high our sweet lil angel Brianna. ♡

What's the chance that Brianna's mother has had more children since leaving prison? She was a young woman who got a light sentence and no pushback from the parole board. She knew what was happening to her daughter, they all did, but did nothing to save her from the violence.

Richard Hoffman...her brother Steven Lopez is in the Penitentiary of New Mexico in Santa Fe. Look it up. Level 6 inmates that do things like this are never allowed to be around Level 1 through 5 inmates, or he would have been killed by now.

I've avoided this case for 20 years. I know it has been 20 years because my daughter is the same age as Brianna. She just turned 21 this year and baby Brianna never got to live a life full of love and compassion like my baby did. It still hurts and angers me so much. I'd go to prison if I ever ran into these monsters.

I remember this in my early teens. This case haunts me to this day. I’m now in my mid 30’s as a wife and a mother. I heard the mother walked free just recently. She should not fall pregnant again. I hope they all get what’s coming. Brianna would’ve just recently turned 22 years old if she was alive today. Rest in love, peace and harmony beautiful girl 💖🙏🏾✨
I remember the Detective asked the family for a picture of Baby Brianna he said, NO ONE HAD TAKEN ANY PICTURES OF THIS BEAUTIFUL BABY IN THE ENTIRE 6months of her life, Detective stated that when he went to view Baby Brianna in the morgue he snapped a picture and there wasn’t a place on her small body that wasn’t bruised. In honor of Baby Brianna the picture Detective snapped he said he Photoshopped it The picture that shows her looking like she’s peacefully sleeping the pice that’s shown in the videos The Detective is responsible for that. He did an amazing job she’s so Beautiful. My mom and I went to visit her grave site in 2017. We took her Easter basket. It was so hard to sit there knowing everything she had to go through.

As a new mum snuggling my 3 month old baby, I cried when I heard this, how on earth could anyone do anything to ever harm something so beautiful, how could they inflict so much pain on something they created, I wish these monsters all the agony in the world is inflicted on them for the rest of their lives 😢

I live very close to Las Cruses. I remember 10 year old me sitting down watching the news when I heard of Sweet Baby Brianna’s case. I can’t forget her; I will NEVER forget her. Every time I hear of children who endure what Little Brianna experienced, I think of her and wonder why. How could they? Keep her memory fresh. Remind people that they have a choice. Help them remember to think wisely about the type of parent they will be to innocent children well beforehand. Sweet Brianna, we love you.

Awh... As a citizen of Las Cruces, the community still comes together to celebrate Briana on the anniversary of her death. We mourn baby Brianna and our community is stronger now because of her. A collective amount of residents petitioned her release and sadly because of the cogs of the Justice System there was no way for NM to continue to keep her in prison. Our community responded in outrage and felt that NM was failing to follow through with delivering Justice. Our community cares for Briana far more than the people who should've cared for her could ever....

I am watching this from thousands of miles away and my tears for this poor baby are unstoppable. Just how can anyone do this to their own baby , their own baby neice. These people are demons. The justice system failed this poor little angel,but God will punish them, and they have to live with what they did for the rest of their pathetic evil life.

Agree, to treat helpless baby like an object for pleasure... how do you get pleasure from making a baby cry. The other sick actions they scream mental illness (desire to cause pain) that no amount of therapy can fix. Forever a danger to children - should never be released.

Seems to me that the parole board need to answer some serious questions as to why THEY decided that she should be allowed to go free, hide her identity (if that is what happened) and go on to have more children as has been claimed. They are solely and directly responsible and should be made accountable for their actions! 'Good behaviour' is absolute BS and is a pathetic excuse in an attempt to address the overcrowding in prisons at best. Enforced 'good behaviour' doesn't equate to reformed and is akin to telling someone they have done well for not buying sweets in a shoe shop. It is utterly ridiculous and absolute nonsense! Then they wonder why vigilante law is a thing?
As for the Brianna's little brother, I hope to goodness he was taken into care and placed with a family that will treat him right. The grandmother deserves to feel guilt for the rest of her life for her part in this too. They lived in a trailer not a mansion ffs! That baby's cries would have been heard throughout the home. They would not have been the cries of a hungry or uncomfortable baby they would have been the cries that anybody, especially a woman who has borne children herself, would have instantly recognised as signifying that something was terribly wrong! That poor baby girl, You were let down so badly! RIP little angel!

I remember when this happened, it was the day after my baby’s birthday, she turned seven on the 18th of July. It was horrible what happened to that baby. It’s unbelievable how and, why anybody could do the things that they did to her.

What I don't understand is, how many couples have a big desire of having a baby , and these kind of people do this horrible things to one of them. I simply don't get it.

I completely agree! I’ve unfortunately experienced addiction in my life and know so many others who battle some form of addiction. I’ve never seen any of them get violent and I certainly never felt the need to be violent with anybody.. but especially never my children! Ever!! I remember the first time I heard about this case. 13 years ago. It broke my heart and made me so angry at the same time. I can’t believe they released Brianna’s egg donor. She shouldn’t even be alive, much less free. Insane.

I was pregnant with my first at only 17 when this occurred. I struggled with mental health but never would let anything like this to happen to my child. This is the most twisted and sickest case to hear.

And one point that wasn’t mentioned. The pictures of a seemingly sleeping little Brianna? Those pics have been doctored to remove the bruises. The pics you see are actually DEATH PHOTOS taken at the Medical Examiner’s office. A private organization took the time to airbrush the photos, removing the bruises, and making a release for the public to see her little body…as it SHOULD HAVE BEEN. Sweetly sleeping. But this little Angel didn’t have one sweet, or peaceful day in her little life. I really hate this case!

There is no amount of drugs or alcohol that could ever justify what those evil scumbags did. The only thing comparatively as disgusting as what they did though, is their sentences. They deserved nothing less than to be slowly tortured to death over years while in a locked block room with no windows...beaten with batons, dowsed with acid, and forced to listen to a recording of a loud baby crying and screaming...then once they go completely insane just stop feeding them. I thought I had heard "the worst" with my addiction to true crime but this one has me shook, crying, and enraged...anything less than life w/o parole is NOT justice.

This child's story has haunted me from the first time I heard in back in 2010. This poor angel, I can't even imagine what she endured. Never knowing love or care. She was a human play toy to these monsters. Idc what the reason the family has for not caring about her, they could've given her to another family member or friend if they felt that poorly of her. She should never have had to endure that pain and suffering. I will never forget this baby, baby Brianna, as long as I live. RIP, sweet girl. You deserved the world and were robbed of life.

i was a wreck for a very long time after i first read about this case back in 2010...i checked up all the time on the men in their prisons to see if they basicallly were still alive, even signed the online petition to have the metal grate removed from her grave, printed up the one photo of her and put them everywhere like at home and my office at work..i would go to bed at night and actually hear her cries and probably screams of pain in my head. i even felt guilty because i wasnt there to "stop it"..i dont live anywhere near this cesspool of a state but i felt bad still...

Years ago I saw on a news clip that the uncle was requesting to be moved to another prison because his inmates were beating his a** in there. That made me happy knowing what was being done to him. I hope they didn't give him the transfer & if they did I hope he got his a** beat in the new prison.
