The problem is that it is not truly a "jury of your peers". It is a jury of random people in the sociey. Really, the people that get stuck with jury duty are mostly older, less educated people that have free time. Your peers (people with similar characteristics with you) would probably judge you more fairly.

In most of Europe it was social, not socialistic. And social is inherent to homogenous nations. Dont know exactly how it is at the moment, bc under US influence our govs had to vacate those systems. Almost like openly cheating, tattooing affair partner's birthdate and initials, threatening to steal a business which was only possible because husband gave up his life savings and challenging him to a physical fight. Honestly, the rage is quite understandable if you really think about the abuse he had to endure over months if not years.
And, what do you call a woman who was cheating and was blatant enough to get tattoos to prove how much she loves the ex boyfriend. She was not afraid of her husband and she didn’t care if she hurt him. She used him to get to the US and she took his life savings to start a business and then siphoned off money from that business to secretly start another business. She was continuously deceiving him.

I completely agree. Life feels so much more peaceful when you don't allow people who thrive on drama, jealousy, envy, and competition into your life just to avoid loneliness. The idea of having a lot of friends, kids, or a big social circle is often an illusion. People can be so fake these days, and you never really know what's in their hearts. It's unsettling! That’s why I’ve adopted a simple approach-just “hello” and “goodbye,” nothing more.

Wow…really a sad story. The reality is that anyone can flip given the “wrong circumstances”. It’s obvious the husband was her meal ticket and who knows maybe the chid isn’t his. In Jamaica “jacket” is so common. She didn’t deserve to die but this should be a wake-up call for those in similar situations. She should have moved on but she was greedy and he should have moved on but his ego took over.
This comment is Gold. None of this would've happened if a certain party wouldn't have cheated and divorced and split the equity of the businesses. Nobody won they both lost.
No one deserves to be killed by another's hand ever, no matter what. It's a really sad and tragic story. They had accomplished so much! However, dead victims of crimes are often portrayed as innocent angels. In this case, yes she started a very successful business which HE financed. Then this affair with her ex boyfriend that according to HER best friend was the first love "she never got over". Add to that the identical tattoos they both had done. THAT would be excruciatingly painful to a spouse. You don't do that to your spouse and expect all will be well. Staying in the marriage because she didn't want to lose half of what they had (according to her best friend) while fooling around under his nose, is the wrong reason to stay; and potentially very dangerous as this case proves. No excuse whatsoever for what he did to her and to her corpse; but I think the affair contributed greatly to the anger, betrayal and bruised ego he felt as a man and as her husband. And now we have a little girl who lost mum and dad and whose life is changed forever. So sad.
I feel like I’ve seen this story on Snapped but with the genders reversed. I’m not saying I agree with victim-blaming but I think it says something about our double-standard as a society. The cheating husband killed by the scorned wife is hardly ever given as much grace as we see given to Andreen. Just an observation.
Whatever one does to you it is not worth killing them. Death is irreversible and it's better to walk away because you are taking away someone's parent, someone's brother/sister. It is very painful to loose a child or sibling. No parent wants to bury their child. The pain is made worse when they are killed or thought to have been murdered.
So tragic. Also - I don’t often feel bad for the killer’s parents, but his mother looks broken. This man has destroyed so much. His daughter will grow up without her parents.

Americans, with their base capitalistic system often think we have or had this because of socialistic tendencies, but thats not it. Although in USSR it was of course. In most of Europe it was social, not socialistic. And social is inherent to homogenous nations. Dont know exactly how it is at the moment, bc under US influence our govs had to vacate those systems. The older I get the more I learn that not having lots of friends = having a peaceful life. People are sick and evil.
It's best not to be married having an affair and tattooing your lovers name on your body. Andrine probably used her husband for citizenship, I wonder if her child is even Andre's? It's crazy that her sister is trying to normalize the affair on TV.
Proud of that mother ,her honesty is worth emulating
He literally WENT BACK TO HER DEAD BODY TO BEAT HER UP AGAIN! He says “probably because I was still mad when walking away from her”. THAT right there shows how ANGRY he can get! How much he sees red! These stories really need to be better balanced. He committed a horrible crime. But a married woman getting some other man's initial and birthday tattooed on her body, and carrying on an affair with him, is a huge part of why this all happened. She wouldn't have been in this country or had a business without him. Just sad all around.

i agree, 48 hours tends to manipulate the stories by painting all the fault on one person, and ignoring all the bad deeds of the victim.
Stop victim blaming. What she did wasn't okay but it's not because of that she was murdered. She was murdered because he was abusive.
Period
People don’t realise how much pain this woman caused to Andre. Tattooing another man’s birthday and matching tats whilst married to another is way too disrespectful and one cannot bring a scale to say this is how much anger you can have and can’t be angry beyond this. This level of disrespect was the sucker punch. She should’ve just left after that discovery nothing was going to be mended after that.
She did not deserve to die and i feel really sad for her young daughter now that she has essentially lost both parents. However, i do not understand how people are not acknowledging Andrea"s disrespect of cheating on her husband as well as the audicity to tattoo another man's name on her body while still being married and living in the house with her husband.
That is exactly why she was murdered. The talk about him being jealous of her success is ridiculous. It's as if the affair was glossed over; they didn't even bother to speak with the affair partner

ain't that the truth thank you, makes life so much easier
She got another mans DOB tatted on her?!?!?! Yeah, ok
So sad.
Very well said.
I feel like I’ve seen this story on Snapped but with the genders reversed. I’m not saying I agree with victim-blaming but I think it says something about our double-standard as a society.
