    I fully disagree that Skylars mother "loves her a lot". The horrrrrible interaction in the video made that entirely clear. Skylar has to take responsibility for her actions of course but the baby would clearly still be alive if she had been a better mother.

    • @Stray..
      @Stray.. 2 года назад +9

      Yes, Skylers mother was far more concerned about what the neighbors thought of herself then she was about her daughter. Seeing that interaction, it was clear that Skyler had a good reason to be afraid to tell her Mom. That said, I don’t think Skyler should have been released from her probation early. Scared or not she did a horrible thing, and no one else (especially minorities) would have gotten away with that light sentence regardless of mommy issues.

    She researched how to terminate a baby, after her doctor told her it was too late. I think that kind of says it all as the how this was going to end. The mother... that's another story. This girl has a narcissist for a mother. Very cold, manipulative, dominant and only worried about herself. Wouldn't surprise me if the mother enjoyed all the attention this case brought and relished in getting people to feel sorry for her. Totally narcissistic behaviour. Personally, Skylar, comes across as totally insincere, and guilty, of killing her baby daughter driven by a fear of what her cold narcissistic mother would do if she knew. This would put her in a kind of manslaughter category I guess. She admitted squeezing her baby and that her baby was moving before hand. Anorexia is a control driven disease. Skylar probably uses eating as the only control she has over her dominating mother. Just like Karen Carpenter, who also had a mother like that. Narcissist mothers who live through their children. It's messed up what ever way you look at this case. But, for me, guilty of killing her baby for sure.

      Oh my. She found when she was 8 months. And no one could tell… and was anorexic the entire pregnancy Also look at how small the baby was. Psych wise she shut down. Tried to block it. It wasn’t real. She had no training. The birth hits and she doesn’t lack empathy. She states she wasn’t screaming or crying but gurgling. But not a huge sign of life. She tried to research to get rid of it. In her mind which is severely effected by how she views herself and the anorexia, she once again tried to believe it never happened. She was open with the doctor. She did not try to hide. Her interrogation both time is similar to a panic disorder/mania. More than likely from trauma. After the baby was gone, she held her. But still tried to bury her not hide her. The grave was shallow. Also in her backyard so she could be close. In her mind at that time she was doing right. Was it right? No. But she didn’t gruesomely murder her baby. Her baby was never burned. That explains how her mind was working. Half in reality half not. She also is in treatment last I’ve read. We also do not have to know whether she is in treatment, what kind, etc. it’s a private medical record. The only way to verify is if her lawyers, herself, family said so or if a judge ruled we have a right to know and we absolutely do not.

    What's baffling to me is the innocent girl charade during the interrogation. "I'm so sorry, that sounds bad. Am I going to be in trouble? I didn't mean to hurt her. Did I hurt her?" She talks like she's a little girl who accidentally stepped on someone's foot. Yet, she burned a newborn and buried her. I have a hard time believing someone who could perform actions so dark and disturbing is this fluffy and childlike in reality.
    If it wasn't for her looks and her socioeconomic status, she would have been convicted. For life. The fact that she didn't even get convincted of child endagerment is grotesque. Baby Annabelle could have lived had she cared about the baby even a fraction as much as she cares about herself and her image.

    • @charlescole645
      @charlescole645 2 года назад

      You claim she burned the baby, based on what was said earlier in the video but did you watch later, when in fact there wasn't actually evidence of burned bones? There wasn't. What's really baffling is how the police was manipulating her into getting a false confession and telling her that she didn't need a lawyer. Even if she did it, what the police did have repercussions.

    • @culinaryfox4983
      @culinaryfox4983 2 года назад +1

      @@charlescole645 The results of the baby being burned was inconclusive, so neither of us can say for sure whether or not it factually happened. However, I firmly believe that she absolutely did it. I base it on her own words, and her behavior. And I watched the entire video. They didn't "break her down", they were extradoniarily kind, supportive, and sympathetic towards her during questioning. They used completely typical interrogation tactics. I've seen far harsher interrigations that put far more pressure onto the person being interrogated than what Skylar Richardson went through.
      It's a child-like overly impressionable act to preserve an image of innoccence. She shows no remorse for what she has done, only concern for the consequences, and relief from being acquited. She isn't this incredibly impressionable, easily broke down little girl. She's cold and calculated. She had time to contemplate her decision, it was not heat of the moment. She made the active decision to kill a baby, instead of doing literally anything else - incluing using the Safe Haven Law to her advantage. Even if the baby was a stillborn, like she initially claimed, why wouldn't she call 911? Why would she not get any help if she actually cared about the baby? She didn't. She only cared about herself. What would happen to her if she had a child, or if someone found out she had a child. The texts she sent afterwards expressing joy about the loss of weight also supports the idea that she is extremely vain and image-oriented, as well as ice cold. It's a disgusting, blatant disregard for human life. Even a scared teenager under the same circumstances would call for help if they had even an ounce of compassion and empathy for others, especially for their own child. As far as I'm concerned, after being presented with the evidence available about the case, she's a murderer.
      Furthermore, the legal ramification of her actions being so minimal, sends the message to others that its okay to make the same decisions as she did, and it absolutely is not okay. Actions like these need to be punished.

Because if she indeed has eating disorders and she never got medical treatment during her pregnancy and also didn't eat right....then she could be the reason the baby was still born (if the baby ever was) because of her own treatment of the baby in her body.

      There is also the term: "Not guilty", you might have heard of but I bet you don't know what actually means. It doesn't mean "Innocent", the term gives the possibility of the defendant having commited the cime. The evidence was non-existent. Beyond reasonable doubt is the criteria
      Her interview is useless, because the police were clearly manipulating her, lying to the family, she didn't have a lawyer, she has a personality disorder that means she could incriminate herself just to appease the interviewing officers.
      The police would have been better off reading her her rights and waiting for her lawyer, instead the police are left with their dicks in their hands.
