When he came home, he put his clothes in the washer…did he ever help with laundry before? Then took another shower? Why did he need another shower? What I’m watching is old and I’m not sure if he’s had another trial but, these are questions I would ask Scott and others close to the couple.

I know this guy probably did it but people don't know what beyond A reasonable doubt means. I've said it before and I'll say it again. men protect your wives and your family members because if someone murders them you will be going to prison for it if the police cannot solve the crime. they will go with the easiest closest explanation and that is you. you will have family members murdered and police will put you in prison for life with no evidence to make their jobs easier simply because they can't won't or are incapable of doing their job. or because the criminal was very good at his job.

My comment was made more broadly about how police always go for the easy route to get the conviction. They will hone in on the easy target to keep the work load down.
There was even a case where a state police officer was convicted by his own Police department for murdering his family when he didn't do it and they ignored evidence and hid a confession after he was in prison for it.

Unfortunately juries are not made up of the most intelligent people.
Many Americans don't understand what logical fallacies are or how to reason properly with logic and evidence. This means that the majority of jurors are not the type of people any of us would want on that jury during our own trial especially if we're innocent.

I am not saying he's innocent but he does deserve a second trial. It would be great if it was trial by a judge. Back then it was a circus with ppl judging on emotions and not evidence. I hate it when ppl assume how a person SHOULD act & react. If I'm ever pulled in for something in surely going down if I'm going to be judged on my emotional reactions. Plenty of reasonable doubt was evident IMO

A lot of the reason I went was just to get that boat in the water . . . this says it all. Did the public hear this explanation? No, not until the National Enquirer published Brocchini's transcript. And, even then, it was surrounded with claims, citing LE sources, that Scott murdered Laci and Conner.
Did Scott have fishing gear with him on that fishing trip?
Yes, he did. But, we didn't find that out until the Preliminary Hearing. All the months before, we were encouraged, by the LE, to believe that Scott didn't. Even in the Prelim, LE attempted to diminish the real evidence by repeatedly emphasizing the unopened pack of lures.
Brocchini testified that Scott had, in the boat, 2 fishing rods and a small tackle box which contained old fishing jigs and lures. The boat came equipped with a fish finder and a small trolling motor. So, Scott had everything with him necessary to troll fish, which is what he said he was doing.

There’s definitely some lingering questions regarding the prosecutions case & specifically the “how”, but with that said there are a few things that just cannot be explained away:
    1. The body being found in the exact same body of water he was fishing in that morning. The odds of this??? 🤷🏼‍♂️
    2. The dogs tracking Lacy’s scent to the marina where Scott docked his boat. Again, applying Occam’s Razor… 🤷🏼‍♂️
    3. Him claiming (to his mistress mind you) that he’d “lost his wife” prior to her actual disappearance.
    4. His lack of remorse & general demeanor prior to arrest & during the trial when they showed explicit photos of his deceased wife & child.
These are 4 incredibly damning points that just don’t seem to have reasonable refutation.

    • @aok4418
      @aok4418 2 года назад +5

      Actually, they are not.
1.the SF Medical examiner (Boyd Stevens) explained to the lead detective that it would be highly unlikely that 32 lbs would submerge the body. It would just float. He also said the currents would likely take the body out to sea. She was found nearly 4 months later. How do currents flowing Southbound at 4 knots place either body where they were found. And 52 searches of the bay revealed nothing.
      2. The dogs didn't track Laci's scent, if they tracked anything it was Scott's scent.
-TRIMBLE was selected using Scott's sunglasses that Scott handled. Trimble was never CARDA certified.
-Seitz, whose dog was Ron Seitz, whose dog was certified by CARDA didn't pick up Laci's scent at the Marina. And they scented her with Laci's slipper that wasn't handled by Scott.
      -Expert
      Trimble was not following Mr.
Peterson’s scent, rather than Laci’s scent, as he drove the boat out of the
      marina. (Id. at HCP-000040-41.)
      C. Third,Mr.Rebmann noted that there was a four-day delay
between December 24, when Laci’s body was supposedly at the marina.
      3. He used the excuse that so he could then use his traveling work as an alibi as to why he'd be gone most of the time. Why do you think he told Amber he wouldn't be around over the holidays? He knew he would be spending it with his family.
      4. Demeanor

Why are you saying Scott "had no pole, no lures nor bait,"
Brocchini testified that Scott had, in the boat, 2 fishing rods and a small tackle box which contained old fishing jigs and lures. The boat came equipped with a fish finder and a small trolling motor. So, Scott had everything with him necessary to troll fish, which is what he said he was doing.

    • @jwait1496
      @jwait1496 2 года назад +2

      Here ya go.
McALLISTER: Okay. Now, in your report then, you did detail what was in the boat as you saw it on 12/24; is that correct?
      BROCCHINI: Yes.
McALLISTER: And you reported in your report -- I'm talking about 7 of 12 of that same date of 12/24 -- that you inspected the inside of the boat?
      BROCCHINI: Yes.
McALLISTER: And saw that there were two fishing poles. One was an ultralight-type stream fishing pole, and second was a heavier type fishing pole; right?
      BROCCHINI: Yes.
McALLISTER: Now, what is an "ultralight-type stream fishing pole"?
BROCCHINI: It's short, very lightweight, doesn't come apart, and it's -- that's what I call it. That's the type of fishing pole I would use, so --
McALLISTER: Okay. My next question. Do you know something about fishing?
BROCCHINI: A little bit. Not about ocean fishing, but I fly fish and stream fish.
McALLISTER: So to give us that description, were you close enough to be able to see like a brand name on that fishing pole?
BROCCHINI: No. I didn't look for one.
McALLISTER: Okay. Is this a generic type description just from your knowledge of fishing?
      BROCCHINI: Yes.
McALLISTER: But you were close enough to see it in that detail from where you were standing; right?
      BROCCHINI: Yeah.
McALLISTER: Then there was a small plastic tackle box which contained old fishing jigs and lures. Now, is that shown on the photographs?
      BROCCHINI: Yes.
McALLISTER: Could you show us -- could you show me where that is? Would that be that?
BROCCHINI: On photo 92, that would be it.
McALLISTER: Okay. And that is a -- looks like at some earlier part of its life might have been an orange hinged box?
      BROCCHINI: That's right.
McALLISTER: And that would be next to what we described as the anchor?
      BROCCHINI: Yes.
McALLISTER: And so -- and did you take -- you looked inside that, obviously; right?
      BROCCHINI: Yes. I opened it.
McALLISTER: And that's how you were able to make the description I just read of the fishing jigs and lures; right?
      BROCCHINI: Yes.
McALLISTER: Now, then you also described a six-foot red rope, possibly used to tie the boat to a dock and a pair of yellowish rubber gloves. I think the gloves show in those pictures, too, don't they?
      BROCCHINI: Yes.
McALLISTER: Okay. Those are near the fishing poles, kind of under them almost?
      BROCCHINI: Yes.
      McALLISTER: Right?
      BROCCHINI: Uh-huh.
McALLISTER: And what was this other thing under the fishing poles?
BROCCHINI: That is something to -- if you get a flat tire on your trailer, you pull your trailer up onto that, and then you can take your tire off and change it.
McALLISTER: Oh, okay. And then reading on, you said that the ropes and gloves were wet; is that --
      BROCCHINI: That's correct.

He dyed his hair to avoid the media. No he was not fleeing.
Scott's appearance changed between December 24, 2002 and April 18, 2003. He'd lost over 20 pounds, grown a goatee and his hair was lighter. None of these changes took place overnight, or made him unrecognizable. Scott's picture had been plastered all over the media, and slow motion video of him was being shown on TV with creepy music in the back ground. Scott had become a recognizable figure. The goatee and hair color may have helped Scott avoid being recognized by media or someone on the street, but he was not trying to use these changes to hide from the police.
There was constant traffic driving by their home, media was camped out there, their home had been stripped of many items during the search warrants (none of which had any evidentiary value), radio DJs called out to him with bullhorns while airing their show live from in front of his house, his house had been broken into, and the volunteer center had shut down. So he was living essentially out his car and with family and friends in Southern California.
The defense played the wire tapped recording from police where Scott specifically told John his brother that it's best he didn't play golf because the media were follieing him, and he didn't want another picture of him in the papers.

This is a case where no one got justice except Lacy's mother who became bent when she found out Scott had cheated on her perfect daughter and took the fact that Scott had done that as a personal affront. The minute she found out Scott had been cheated she was in overdrive to make sure he was convicted because he had cheated whether or not he was innocent or guilty. The Lord could have appeared in court and testified as to Scott not being the one who murdered Lacy and her mother would have still demanded, cajoled, and threatened the jury into a dearth sentence. It's not that she tampered with the jury once it was picked but she had been tampering with the people in Redwood City before a jury was even chosen and had most convinced that if he cheated he must have done worse but even if not he deserved to be convicted due to this woman's grief and embarrassment that her daughter was cheated on.
Scott probably is guilty but let's hear that evidence that proves that. Not have his conviction based mainly on the salacious details of his relationship with another woman who was not her fault either. There has never been a death penalty handed down for a husband caught cheating. It took long enough for them to investigate one tampered jurer, not that evidence or knowledge of it is hard to learn but the prosecution and the state realizes they got a conviction based on infidelity and a furious mother riding a high horse, as they never had any evidence of where she was killed or that Scott had body in his vehicle or boat, or even her live body willingly going fishing. The main connection is that he said he went fishing in the bay and later the bodies turned up in the bay but it's a really big bay and not hard for anyone to find. I am afraid a new trial without her mother bearing the pavement and knocking on doors might get them a fair jury a second time around and they would not have the proof to show a jury that he was in fact guilty by law.
