I doubt anyone in history was in their “right state of mind” when they murdered a family.

I think that's why it's a reference to his legal liability and not anyone's opinion on whether his actions make sense.

Well, here in Canada we have a fellow who beheaded a young man on a greyhound bus for absolutely no sane reason and he was released after 7 or 8 years in a mental health institution 😐

In America we just had a guy convicted Friday of killing and chopping up his parents the day after thanks giving. He placed them in two plastic totes filled with acid and cooked his moms head on the stove. When law enforcement entered the house the pot was on the stove still cooking

Yes. His mental illness is fortunately one that responds to medication. He no longer has psychotic episodes. You would not be able to tell the difference between him and a friend of yours today. He has not committed any further crimes. Canada focusses on rehabilitation not revenge and I am grateful for that.

Honestly I think the jury got it wrong on this one... He was a jealous ex and attacked the source of the jealousy. This guy wouldn't have gotten ncr if I had been on the jury. No way.

I am not sure about the supposed Insanity , But either way insane or just a cold blooded killer he should never be released if he passes the test for his mental stability, he should then be in prison the rest of his life .

@@CutterDriftwood Wow, EINSTEIN!!! Your only 20-40 years behind the times, lol!! That “soft science” crap went out when DNA and tomography scans came in! So, now that you’re totally embarrassed, what level of psychological study have YOU attained?? And where are your citations so I can follow up on them?? I am a certified psychologist, btw, and am telling you we now can diagnose psychopaths-both prosocial and antisocial (bet you didn’t know there were 2 forms, didja, Einstein)-by doing an imaging brain scan. Did you know that?? Psychologists and psychiatrists have been diagnosing BOTH KINDS for nearly 80 years, and we now know that the brain of a psychopath has discrete physiological differences, the most important of which is in the limbic system. I won’t tell you what that is, bc I’ll bet you already know. Because you’re as smart as Einstein, a legend in your own mind! Then there is genetic mapping....have you ever heard of that, Einstein?? Is THAT science?? Scientists and psychiatric and psychological researchers have isolated the genes for mental illness, and know now have proven that psychopathy, whether mood disorder or personality disorder, _IS A GENETICALLY INHERITED TRAIT, AND THAT TRAUMA-ESPECIALLY FROM CHILDHOOD TO YOUNG ADULT-IS THE FACTOR THAT FIRES THE GENES INTO LIFE. And that, Einstein, is SCIENCE._ I won’t go into all of the hormone and chemical studies which have been done, bc I’ve “outted” you, so it would be Greek to you. So I’ll accept your apology, right now!

The fact that he was hanging out in the backyard after he committed murder shows that he was having some sort of psychotic break. He actually did not want his defense team to go for the insanity plea which is why they just let him take the stand ...the jury quickly found out for themselves how sick is is. So sad for all involved the poor daughter/sister of Sunny and her daughter.
