@@KnotxD Cheers buddy! Quick tip - can you maybe discuss rotations with gameplay included? I mean for mages locks and hunters who cares haha, but for, say, a slam spec, showing the right timing is really helpful. And I know spriest have a rather complex rotation in tbc, so might be worthwhile showing them in action. Just an idea for future videos!

Since I'll be playing both modes I think I'll have to go Fury for PvE and Arms for PvP solely because of mace smithing.

How would you manage your rotation if for arms, if you dont generate enough rage, lets say you only have 25 rage after a white swing, do you then just slam and wait for new swing, and the same if i land on 30 rage after a white swing then just use Mortal strike over slam? :)

Option on the Fury spec, skip rampage and spec in to Death Wish isntead. It is a DPS increase. and helps especially on cleave fights where warriors excel
I’m kind of new to warrior so I’m wondering why no one would put points into unbridled wrath instead of improved demo? And I also was thinking of specking into death wish
Is the PvP gear at 70 any good for raiding? If so, how easy/quickly can they be obtained?
you should stack marks and honor like now like i do and get instantly the BG gear on 70 to go for arena and get the Arena Weapon
For arms, I only put 1 point in improved slam. Slam being a main ability, having two points in the talent doesn't have much benefit since global cd is like twice the duration of 0.5 slam cast. 1 point in slam allows you to chain slam on cd.

Has anyone seen if it's at all worth it as arms to sacrifice 1 or 2 of the flurry talent points for improved berserker rage to get insta 5-10 rage on click? it can be rough in some fights if you just don't generate enough rage and was wondering if there's a chance it possibly outweighs whatever the dps increase from either a 10% or 15% attack speed increase especially if you're already popping haste pots and have an enhancement shaman for heroism
Absolutely not 100% flurry uptime is all of your output
Slam always resets your swing timer, you do it after an auto to minimize the amount time wasted when it resets it.
Correct but you're trying to fit an MS or WW inside of the auto swing timer from what I've seen on logs. Maybe I didn't explain it super clearly with the graphic.

What about orcs? Should they craft axes and or 2h axes for the extra expertise?? or just go with 2h sword and or 1h maces
It seems the racials may be 1% crit instead of expertise for Humans and Orcs. As such, if you wish to be blacksmithing for the OP weapons, Dragonstrike is the best for Fury and Lionheart is the best for Arms, not even close without the expertise.
Please someone answer me this: everyone says 9% hit right? so why do we waste 3 talents going for 12%? or why do we bother going for 9 instead of 6? Cause we all take the 3% from talents that doesnt show on ur actual hit rating ^^
Can't stand other classes with their one button rotations so will going with warrior, but might have to find another guild, which kinda sucks.
how does lionheart champion compare to gladiator greatsword for dps?
i'm likely the guilds arms warrior but 0% chance i'm going swordsmith as i'll primarily do pvp
Hey,
It's relatively close, though the Lionheart weapons always tend to have an edge on similar swords due to the proc being traded for the stamina budget on most other weapons.
The proc itself has around a 20% uptime if its a patchwerk-style fight (grabbed this quickly from some brutallus logs). So yeah lionheart is great but, if you love PvP, it's not a huge difference to acquire on-season PvP 2h Swords instead.
@@KnotxD Thank you for the response. Had no idea about the proc uptime, 20% is significant. But if I can get extra AP due to the hit on the gladiator swords it may even out.
This is honestly a fantastic video, some things could've been fleshed out a bit more but as a baseline it's incredibly valuable. Decided to drop a sub.
I'm definitely considering going warrior for TBC as it has a fairly engaging rotation while a decent skill ceiling aswell as good PvP prospects.
what is better to choose an orc? blacksmith axes (due to expertise) or all the same a weapon with an attack speed (dragon strike)?
Looks like Orcs and Humans may have the expertise replaced with 1% crit as per 2.3 patch. That means Orcs should go Dragonstrike until the late game weapons, its not close unless its expertise.

im pretty sure warmane uses the wrath of the lich king damage model even on their tbc server.
TBC pvp is way different and better then wrath!wrath is burst with op'ed pve items its where the game took a major step backwards.
I have been playing warrior since BC, and have always wondered, if the crafted masses are better than axes for Orc (fury dual wielding PVE)

Which spec would you suggest to quest to 70 if you're going to just tank at max?
To quest I'd go ar,ms I think just due to less misses and second wind; but i would recommend tanking dungeons if possible :)

Good Video But the arms spec seems off to me.
I dont know where you got that PVE arms spec but 3/3 imp heroic is useless in and out of raid/dungeons. The much better option is 5/5 parry for when you are called to off tank (it does happen - kara) and giving you better parry haste/survivability in the open world grinding/farming.
Heroic strike is something that should be avoided at nearly all costs as arms war while we need the normal white hits to generate rage for MS/WW/slam.
Even this videos rotation section has zero use for heroic strike.
How often should you be changing stances for Fury or should I stay in berserker after charging in?

@@rickymartinez6821 Yeah I haven’t seen anyone talk about stances. A little more information would be great for us noobs. I mean I think that for the most part I’m probably staying in berserker but I remember all the talk about stance dancing back in the day and how some abilities require battle stance and what situations I’d need to use them.

Going to add a brief Race choice section in subsequent videos. To cover this one however:
PvE wise you will want to be Orc or Human for minmaxing due to the extra expertise.
PvP wise, you will favour Gnomes and Orcs respectively. Humans gain value in perception as Rogues and Druids are super common - but Escape Artist has a more direct and easy to execute impact on the game. EA also gets a small buff from 0.5 cast to instant. Whilst being able to break fears with 'serker Rage means UD isn't as good for warriors.
Wouldn't dwarf come out ahead in use of stone skin in solo group heroic an possible braid use, still get that sweet armor bonus.
I feel dwarf an troll get shafted by everyone while both racial bonus are great an can be used all the time while the rest have caveats an squid pro quos.
@@mrillis9259 I think Troll definitely has a good claim. Berserking is super powerful but it's hard to assume it being higher than the base 10% haste cause you can't guarantee a way to take safe damage to proc the higher haste in most encounters.
Expertise is just super good for PVE. That said, Troll is far closer to Orc than say Dwarf is to Human. Human is definitely the 'best' pick for PVE for alliance but if you hate humans, I agree and pick what you like :)
Don't underestimate Tauren for PvP. With the increased hitbox size you can melee players through pillars (goes both ways of course) and Warstomp can really secure a kill you would otherwise miss.

@@KnotxD For Orcs; "Expertise is good" yes, but you literally say it yourself in the video "if you want to play Arms PvE, you will want a sword". And the BiS weapons lategame are swords dropped by Archimond and Kil'Jaeden, so realistically you only compare +AP/Heal reduction vs. 10-30% Haste buff. Depending on how hard(/easy) fights are tuned, you can damage boost a lot of bosses by deliberately taking non-lethal damage (like sitting in Gruul's rock shower for a few ticks) for immense rage gain -> Heroic Strike -> No glancing blow. Orc racial impedes that strat, getting yourself killed, or other people by distracting healers too long, while Troll racial actively benefits you in receiving the max bonus.
Also Prince Malchezaar forcing you to 1 hp lmao
im having rage issues trying to follow the exact rotation, any advice? following the arms rotation.
Same thing happening to me no idea what to do, about to go back to fury cause i have to just auto to build rage before i can do the rotation and even then im sometimes not able to get to the whirlwind

Nope...what you do is play with world buffs have full rage and just spam HS in between WW cd. Thats why you are consfused. If you keep WW up every 12 secs your dps will be higher. Without buffs your rage is lower so you gotta keep normal rotation up.

There is still a ton of doom and gloom to the role purely due to how many you want in tbc vs how many you have in classic vanilla.
The class is useful, just the absolute over saturation of warriors is the greatest source of doom and gloom
i have a feeling a lot of people picked warrior because they knew they would be the best, and will probably reroll to a class like hunter/druid/lock, which will thin out the numbers for those who will stick it out like myself.

Alliance side, Gnome warrior is probably the best still for PvP. Though perception gains alot of value with all the RMP in 3s and Rogue/Druid in 2s.

How about full 41 points arms spam string pve? I’ve been using this in the prpatch with a zg/crafted gear war with untamed blade and beating aq40 geared fury wars

Do you feel fury is gonna be viable for PVE tho?
In T6 and SWP, Fury does great damage and is often the 2nd glaive recipient cause they are so strong late game. Before then it's kinda awkward. I've heard some people discuss moving the prot warrior to fury for SWP and using Bear and Prot Pala as the full time tanks. So you then have both fury and arms in the 25.
I think fury is great if you're willing to be flexible on being prot or arms before it gets good.
@@KnotxD Something to keep in mind is that since we're likely getting 2.4.3 itemization and talent changes as it fits with how they treated Classic, a lot of the early game rage starvation issues for Fury is a lot less impactful, I think Fury would be more than fine during somewhat early game.
@@Arcticun For sure, the struggles of fury are overstated, its more so the trade off that sucks for raid composition, not that fury is actually bad. I think people confuse the lack of utility with bad performance, which isn't the case at all. I think we could see 0 Prot (mainspec at least) warriors with Arms+Fury in the comp instead.
@@KnotxD Absolutely, even though many guilds might strive for an optimal composition or as close as possible, it usually isn't entirely feasible unless you're a cutting edge guild focused on competing which not many guilds are, at which point I could definitely see Arms and Fury both making an appearance given that they're decently skilled as they definitely have damage in spades when properly played.
You can also end up with a roster that's overtly caster heavy with a lot of warlocks and not many BM hunters, at which point Arms loses a bit of the value it has, everything just depends on the situation you end up in.
But as said, I definitely don't think Arms nor Fury will have that much of an issue finding spots, of course assuming that they won't be as heavily oversaturated as they are in Classic at the moment.

Have played arms and 2h fury all classic, so if any dual wielders start moaning about rage starvation I will laugh right in their stupid faces ;-)

Remember the 4% arms give to the melees ? (Take then arms dps, and put an extra 4% from alle melee, then you see arms do even more dmg ;-)

Its not specifically to melee’s. Hunters will receive a benefit as well, as the buff impacts physical damage.
How about 2h fury? (21/40/0) or (25/36/0)
5/5 Flurry would play much more into the rotation, when your attacktimer goes from 3.06 to 2.7 seconds. Furthermore, if you can bring your whirlwind to 6s instead of 8, you can always use it, just like you do right now with mortal strike.
Why don't you fill the gaps with Hamstring, like every 2h Horde player did in Classic - at least with a windfury totem? When being sword specced you will have a chance of around 27% to proc an extra attack with hamstring and can help keeping up flurry.
When talking about fury with onehanders, is it still possible to make your offhand hit 100% of the time, when activating heroic strike? Many warriors in classic played with actication macros and cancelled the spell to make the offhand hit 100% of the time. Is that still a thing in tbc?
This is the area with the most potential for innovation for sure. It was referenced very briefly in some old threads I found but I couldn't find any hard evidence to discuss it here in the form of logs or videos to get a rough idea of the performance.
In relation to the heroic strike bug, I believe its fixed but I couldn't find confirmation of this being the case on live explicitly.

I just added another question to my post about heroic strike. Are deactivating macros still a thing in tbc, so that your offhand hits 100% while playing with onehanders?
@@KnotxD I have found the old spreadsheet by Landsoul in a german tbc forum "back2basic".
I used the spreadsheet and also did some own calculations.
With the results from the spreadsheet, 2h fury brings a calculated dps increase of about 9% compared to Arms (33/28/0).
Using rampage instead of deathwish should also give about 1% of dmg increase, but only on an endless fight. Both specs are much higher than dual wield fury with T6 (maybe it is even with both Illidan Legys, depending on the procrate).
So if you have several warriors in the raid, one Arms warrior is enough for the debuff and all others should go for 2h fury. Those warriors are also not depending on swords, because 10% AP scale much better, on top of the reduced threat. Also sword and wf-procs would delay the rotation by 1s, if it procs from MS/BT/WW or Hamstring, when the procs still reset the swingtimer in tbc.

I want to do great DPS in TBC, but I want to press more than one button, that is why I am going to play a Fury warrior.
If played properly there isn't a single class spec in Classic or TBC that is relegated to 1 or 3 buttons.

Truth, especially so for the classes that get memed on for 1 button rotations ie: Hunter/Warlock
Having played hunter even recently on pservers it's very engaging and the tools available are very fun. Misdirect has to be my all time favorite spell in the game

@@true_plays_games I can't tell if this comment is sarcastic. If not, I highly suggest joining each respective class Discord to see how complex it can get. It's already quite complex, but if you want to take it a step even higher, check out Warlock tanking, Rogue Tank, etc.
The worst part of playing a warrior on a PVP server is just deciding what to pick for blacksmithing specialization. OFC I want that juicy chest from BS. I also want maces for PVP and fury pve. I ALSO would like the option to do arms pve. Too many decisions.
Very true, I was considering a warrior alt as I have one at the moment for vanilla but just the heartache of Blacksmithing specialisation and which ones to leave out, put me off a bit haha.
deathwish fury spec, is much better late game than normal Fury IMO. since 250 AP is not as good as 20% more dmg for 30 seconds at the late game when your gear is OP

41-44 points in fury is the standard setup. With the remaining 17-20 going into arms.
