Here's one that doesn't get mentioned much: Druid's T1 healing set. Back in WotLK, Tranq had a talent that reduced its cooldown by 60% and threat by 100%. The Cenarion 8 piece bonus reduced Tranq's cooldown 50%. These were additive. Combine with Orb of Clarity, which could proc on any tick of Tranquility, and you had threatless, cooldownless, free mass AoE healing, you just had less spellpower than normal and couldn't move much. But, of course, no one pays attention to the healer. I had people telling me I needed to manage my threat better when a freshly spawned mob noticed the 0 aggro spell and hit me first. Nobody really cared a Druid was pushing out massive AoE, to the entire group, instantly patching loose damage to the entire party at all times. Only once in hundreds of dungeons did a Rogue stop and ask "wait, how are you doing that?"
if we talk about Wotlk and resto druid gear i would have to at least give a honorable mention to the pre-nerf Ephemeral Snowflake... it made lifebloom free and wild growth actually gave you mana and rejuvenation and regrowth cost almost nothing... so you could literally just apply and reapply every HoT constantly and have a shit ton of overhealing happening constantly without it being a problem on mana... and if you were in a raid you could have literally just made a macro to cast wild growth on cooldown and just cycle through everyone and keep applying a new HoT to each of them one after another
This was notorious in Classic wotlk and people trying to cheese Hardmode Vezax xD It actually got fixed in wotlk classic for the same reason that it tribalizes the fight
@@tfp2199 I don't think you understood what he said. With T1 druid gear... in Wrath (yes, 2 expansion later), with proper talents, you could easily heal heroics with just tranquility. During wrath classic, I was healing Wrath Alpha dungeons with full T1 easily (The harder heroic version that was added). Unfortunately, it got nerfed in classic when Ulduar came out because people were using it to cheese heroic General Vezax. No fun.
Demonology warlocks was actually even as insane if not more than affliction, due to Doom spawning a Wild Imp on each tick that did a crit. Maining a warlock in Pandaria was something. Millions of health, green fire, insane trinkets. So much fun.
I mean MoP did give us that glorious video of a warlock literally topping DPS without any gear on spare I think that trinket or something else that equally as insane
The Earthshaker for DK tanks. The proc was still working in BFA. It made visions ridiculously easy because it has a chance to proc on every mob hit. But stuns all the mobs. 20 mobs=20 x chance to proc. So it just kept them all stunned.
God dang diamond flask is the whole reason I quit the priest I leveled for classic as an alt. GM asked me specifically to level a priest to heal for split runs, then every ZG raid when I was trying to gear it to do higher tier split runs, all the warriors would take all the healing loot for the flask set even if they never tanked. Eventually just said screw it, that character is still level 60 somewhere on whatever server it ended up on.
only warriors that should have a shot at healing raid gear is the two main raid tanks and only if healers don't need it your raid leader and Gm is trash
@@hunt-o2b It was for threat, the iron flask healing threat could be massive, they'd swap their flask set on, use it, swap their normal gear back on, then pull, it was for clearing faster so dps didn't have to wait for threat
One thing you missed with the soul capacitor was that it snapshots damage without taking into account item level squish. You could drop a farmable critter and hit it when you went into storing damage. Then unleash squished damage on raid bosses. Used this on archimond once to do like 30% of his hp.
the fact you knew about enti's quenched blade is incredible. i had one of those back in the day and trying to sell it was a nightmare, people thought i was trolling saying how broken it is lmfao
Great video! The Lei Shen trinket actually got nerfed for warlocks because of demo, not affliction. At the time, if the DoT "Doom" Crit, you'd spawn an imp. Since you could snapshot the DoT with 100% crit chance, you'd quickly have an imp army and be topping the meters.
Everyone seems to be forgetting that affliction had Soul Swap at the time, which preserved the same snapshot, and could maintain the 100% crit buff for an entire fight given a swap target and good warlock.
Best way to use Soul Capacitor back in the day: 1. Give it a combat rogue with around 75% multistrike 2. Soul Capacitor procs on raid pull (cause thats how on hit trinkets worked) 3. Use the legendary dps ring 4. Funnel the Soul Capacitor into the ringm then funnel the ring into the second soul capacitor proc. 5. Profit
Some OP items from TBC Classic and WotLK Classic. I am not sure if they were used back in the day, but most likely they were. 1. Dragonspine Trophy (TBC). Trinket from Gruul and it was BiS for melee classes for a very long time, maybe even in Sunwell. I remember we were farming it even in P3 (Hyjal and Black Temple) and it cost a lot of gold in GDKPs. 2. Figurine of the Colossus (TBC). This item was not even used in raids, but it was OP because you could solo Stratholme on your paladin and make gold. Hundreds of players have been doing it and all of them had this trinket, myself included. It was invaluable on P1 and P2 when you didn't have bling-bling gear but wanted to earn your gold in a honest way. 3. Soul Preserver (Wrath). This item was dropped in normal Culling of Stratholme 5-man dungeon, and it was broken on Holy Paladin and other healers. It saved you so much mana it was insane, it was probably the only 187 ilvl item that was used on first Heroic Lich King kills in the ICC race. 4. Gnomish Battle Chicken (TBC). If you do a 1-2 minute ritual before pulling a boss, it would give melee classes 20% haste for 5 minutes. It was like mini-heroism. It was so busted, Warcraftlogs banned the use of this item and invalidated any parse where it was used. It probably worked in Vanilla as well.
@@fuzzyface4515 maybe it's not well-coded on your pserver or you did something wrong. Holy Paladins used Glyph of Holy Light when trying to fish for SoulP procs, so it means that 5 people need to be stacked around the target you are healing with HL for maximum effect. It works in 10 man raids, but it's better in 25 man, especially for stacked fights
@@fuzzyface4515 in all raid that I did, about 200+ fights (I mained Holy Paladin in WotlkC) Soul Preserver worked insanely well (at least 3 ppm = 4800 mana every 2 minutes, like a mana potion), even when people were spread out. And all other hpals had that, not just me. This item IS overpowered, especially if you consider that it drops in a normal dungeon, compared to another BiS trinket that drops from Algalon - very difficult last boss of Ulduar. And if I had to choose between Meteorite Crystal and this, I would use Soul Preserver still.
fucking soul preserver. That thing stayed bis for hpals throughout the ENTIRE expansion. It was funny seeing just how much my ilvl shot up if I equipped another trinket from ICC lol.
@@Matikz007 I stuck to my Soul Preserver even after Ruby Sanctum was out. My RL said "Twilight Scale dropped, you are next in line" - and I passed it to our holy priest.
Soul Capacitor was hilarious on the trash before Kormrok in Hellfire Citadel in Warlords of Draenor. The trash would apply a debuff that would mind control a random player when it expires. If you timed your Soul Capacitor properly, you could charge it up and then jump to the mind controlled player, immediately killing them. I did this on my rogue with shadowstep.
I feel like you need the honorable mention of the Dagger off Rend UBRS and the Mace off Kaelthas in The Eye. The dagger gives 3 seconds 100% crit. The mace makes chance on hit to restore focus, each fan is a separate hit. Rogue that was fortunate enough to acquire both had more aoe damage with Fan of Knives then any class, and could infinitely spam it.
Spear of Rethu threatened to ruin legion 4 days into the expansion because it was a 1h Polearm. Literally nothing special about the heirloom otherwise, but it let Prot paladins, Ret Paladins, and Fury Warriors do some insane bullshit with Spear and Shield.
@@weisshxc He isnt talking about using felstriker in classic, he is talking about using it in TBC and WOTLK, where rrogue talents refund energy on crits. Also FoK just throws weapons at each enemy. And any weapon procs happen just like if you were hitting the mob normall. It just happens this makes the felstriker proc very good and it causes lots of crits. So lots of crits = lots of energy, lots of dmg
I fucking LOVED the Gavel of the First Arbiter. I swapped back to my main Unholy DK in Shadowlands after trying out Warlock for an expansion and I had to sit my guild down and explain to them why it was that I absolutely needed the first Gavel that dropped from Heroic - there was a neat interaction between the Gavel and Unholy's tier set where you'd have a 10% minion damage increase passively that would jump up to 40% if Soul Reaper was triggered. It was meant to help with execute phases, but the reality is that you could Soul Reaper the add that the Gavel spawns, immediately killing it and giving you an additional 30% damage during your opening burst window. The increase was high enough that it would take several minutes for others to catch up once your damage fell off.
Maybe since Cata is launching a Cata OP item vid? I know Souldrinker was super strong for Prot War and it then meant your HP converted too damage/healing. So stacking stam just meant more damage. As a tank this got silly and meant Last stand/rallying cry were now offensive CDs. Definitely made you a raid boss with some consistent damage/healing from constant procs of Souldrinker.
Back in the MoP era, the Felstriker Daggers that dropped from Rend in the Blackrock Spires could be used by any Melee class with lots of DoTs too too and its proc would work pretty similar to the Unerring Vision of Lei Shen. Being a Classic junkie, i had spoken about these Daggers to a friend who managed to drop 2 of them and used on his Rogue. The procs had a very short cooldown and each dagger procced individually one after the other, meaning his attacks were always critting and hitting, his poisons were also always critting and he was dealing massive damage in PVP with them. I also had some fun of my own with the Earthshaker Mauls from Molten Core, back in the Cata era to mid MoP as i would often carry a pair of these to Tol Barad. The Mauls had a chance on Melee hit to knock down and stun for 1 second every enemy in a small range around me and i would at times jump in the middle of the Horde players and spam Whirlwind causing the Maul to proc multiple times in a row, completely incapacitating the Horde players for a wile and giving my team the advantage. Later in late MoP, Blizz added the feature for lower level gear to slowly lose their effects as the player leveled up and fought stronger enemies, the Daggers and my Mauls were no longer proccing on players so me and my friend put these classics aside to rest.
Also the reason why Unstable Arcanocrystal was so good is because secondary stats were a lot stronger compared to main stats. My shadow priest in Legion, a class that wanted haste and pretty much only haste, a piece of gear with no haste needed to be like +20ilvls over a piece WITH haste. Nowadays even a piece with your worst secondary stats at a +3 ilvl upgrade is better, because how strong primary stats are. That, compared to just how god damn many stats the Arcanocrystal had, it was just insanely good. I remember farming SO many of those trinket tokens in the hopes of getting one. In the end, the only Arcanocrystal I got during the whole expansion was a regular 860 one from the world boss, but by that time Antorus was already out and the low ilvl didn't hold up anymore.
Good stuff. There are some more items out there that deserves recognition too. During early BfA the twink community learned of some rare items that had no level requirement as well; a 2h weap, a plate boots, and some rings. Might have been more as well. Funny thing about these items is that the fix Blizz put out was to pretty much make a new set of the same items, on a different ID, meaning that the ones people had gotten in that early Window remained wearable for the entirety of the expansion. SL's leveling reboot of course fixed the problem, but for a while warriors in lowbie BGs (prior to the xpon xpoff split) could one-shot even twinked out people through the insane Stat bonuses of these items. So that was a unique circumstance where the problem was never actually fixed. These items aren't well-known though.
I REMEMBER, farming out a gray 2h sword from a giant. The sword was so OP I would use Rend on players in PvP and they were dead in seconds or insta-kill. Had the best couple of days using it 😅 Was a hell of a head rush.
Anyone remember Enti's Quenched Sword? It was a grey 2h sword that came in WoTLK, but it had item level 200 and no level requirement (this got fixed relatively quick). But it was so overpowered for the 19 twink bracket it was not even fair, since the scaling was weird and you could apply all the high level enchants on it. It absolutely SLAUGHTERED
the reason why the arcano crystal was so strong is because secondary stats scaled much better than main stat back in legion. nowadays the arcano crystal wont be a strong competitor since main stat scales much higher again. no matter that the overall amount of stats was higher. in fact secondaries scaled so strong, that the base line arcano crystal was still BiS or atleast a strong alternative in the last tier in legion. being more than 100 ilvl lower than other trinkets
Nifflevar axe from archaeology was 72 to use but did more damage than 70 two handers and more damage than any lvl 80 one hand until ulduar. Basically broke the 70 pvp bracket.
Yes! I remember doing this lol. Specifically it was the "High Powered Bolt Gun" and "Big Daddy Bomb", which were both engineering items. Their damage was fixed as if you were level 85 but they had no level requirement. The only requirement was that your engineering was high enough, so you could use them in low level battlegrounds. You could literally 1 shot entire groups of players if they were clumped up enough, such as respawn points in BGs. It was hilarious for the person doing it, but not so fun for the unsuspecting victims haha. I played a druid so I would just sit in stealth and catch people off guard. I think not enough people were aware of it, even back then, which is probably why they didn't make the list here. Searching youtube, I could only find one video about it which is titled "WoW Engineering @ level 65 in battlegrounds". It shows a person doing exactly what I described.
You forgot to add that the self healing from diamond flask also was converted into threat for the warrior, giving them an even quicker window to build threat so dps could go all out faster.
Wow. I'm glad I got the Exalted rep with Kaluak long ago during WotLK expansion. Didn't realize this fishing pole I use in TWW was OP for twinks. It is really good for underwater exploration though, especially for the fact that it stays equiped on you through your fishing book.
Dragonspine trophy should have been here. If you were a rogue or hunter you got that in tier 4, used it for all of TBC, and wouldn't replace it until like level 74 in Wrath.
One of the best unique trinkets to ever exist imo came in legion called Draught of Souls. Before getting nerfed to the ground obviously. Although it provided a decent overall dps, it was the on use effect that really did some stupid stuff. Search up the video called A Tribute to Draught of Souls.
i remember back in my WOTLK days as a feral druid, This was my 2nd weapon which i needed for some bosses like thaddius back in Naxx because with the multiplier the tanks could not handle the Threat when i was wearing my normal Weapon
not to mention that Gavel was so broken in power value, it was basically BIS for BEARS. thats a Strength Weapon being the Best option for an Agility Tank. it was so strong, it could have been competitive with S1 Dragonflight weapons before Bliz killed the fun and slapped a maximum level you could be before the effects were deactivated. was really nice to level up with before the nerfs.
Thing about Convergence is that it was immdieitely nerfed for ret paladins before it got later nerfs for the other classes. It's what basically made Ret paladins viable during nighthold
I played a undead warrior in the actual vanilla wow, i remember the diamond flask well, although you made a slight error. There's actually one more way for warriors to heal, bloodthirst, and that also scaled 1/1 with healing. So we would use a spell power flask, and not only would it make diamond flask heal for a ton, it would make bloodthirst heal for a ton too, and you never needed to switch to healing gear (although you still could if you wanted to have a really stupid heal). Man i loved those days so much, classic wow just convinced me they probably will never be able to bring back the same experience of the original vanilla :(. I genuinely feel bad for people who missed out on those days, even just waiting in line at midnight for BC to come out at the mall, as far as i know, x pacs are that high in demand anymore. those were the days :(
Enti's was also fun because it was a high level item, it could get high level enchants. I ran around with crusader on mine with a 19 twink pally for a couple of weeks before it was nerfed.
Another one that might not have been as game breaking, but definitely relevant at the time was 'Bygone Bee' Almanac, a trinket in BFA. When used on a ret paladin in phase one, you could use the trinket and bubble, and instead of it being a like 20s buff extended by spending resources, the bubble would bug it out and cause it to become a 1 hour buff for a HUGE mastery steroid which was ret paladins best stat at the time. If only ret had mobility then you could play it on Ghuun q:^]
Great video, all of the info you included was very well organized. I can imagine it took a lot of effort to make this, but a part two with other items would be awesome. Good job man.
Had to honorably mention Stormherald aka Stunherald / Lolhearld / Skillherald. A menace in PvP when wielded by mace specialization warriors. IIRC this weapon prompted Blizzard to implement modern diminsihing returns for stuns and other loss of control effects, where they halve 3 times with subsequent uses and 4th time it has no effect at all (until a DR cooldown has passed)
I am missing the Guldan trinket from Legion for warriors. You did millions of damage in 2-3 seconds because all your trinket shots crit + it scaled with your mastery (enrage for fury or CS for arms warriors).
yeah that trinket was pretty fun. For a time at least. keeping the same trinket for two whole raid tiers was kinda frustrating. Especially since everything revolved around it.
The lei shen trinket was nurfed because of demonology warlocks, every crit spawned an imp doom would always crit so you ended up with a constant supply of imps 100s of them I remember doing 90% of all damage in 25man raids.
I wasn't close to 1st, but I was able to put Shadowmourne together and infuse it with all the essences not too long after it was available, a couple months. It didn't make or break our raids at all, but it absolutely let us take an alt/charity toon along to get geared up because it was a massive dps boost to a geared out fury war. The rotation didn't even exist last time I played back during WoD (no shade, Im glad people still love WoW I just had other things to do after the first two expansions. I played a bit of Pandas, and I really liked some of Cata but I actually liked BCs difficulty and play experience best tbh. I can't say it was THE best, it was incredibly frustrating and hopelessly hard to jump into quickly but that was what made finally beating Kara a rush. When we made it 4 bosses in with an LFR group DAY 1 of a raid in WoD I was bored.
Been playing tank druid since vanilla. To me, the most op trinket was Cache of Acquired Treasures from shadowlands Combined with the venthr power that gave you a super high crit chance and the Axe weapon my dps on anduin quite literally eclipsed the rest of the raid during the add phase letting a guardian druid do most of the damage for that phase.
Small mistake at 8:39. Grays aren't BoE. They generally don't bind at all. I guess "BoE" has become synonymous with "tradable", since almost all useful gear is at least BoE, but not so for most whites and grays.
7:58 Demonology Warlocks - every critical hit of Doom procs an Imp, dealing high fire damage to the doomed target. You never run out of Imps in multitarget scenarios. Destruction Warlocks - Hi Chaosbolt! - But sure, these are no real warlocks because warlocks are only about dots...
Anyone remember Flask of Petrification? I remember getting the recipe drop doing world bossing in old school while playing wrath. Pretty sure you can still use them almost anywhere. Its basically a 1min ice block.
with all the legion trinkets being mentioned surprised Draught of Souls wasn't it got nerfed like 40% for warriors after a tier because it was so busted on single target
Wow. I'm surprised you didn't add the pre-nerf Invulnerable Mail. It was nerfed in patch 1.7 I think? So it wasn't in game very long before it was nerfed, but boy was it fun. The 5% chance to deflect attacks was actually a 5 second timer of physical invulnerability with NO cooldown. RUclips a vanilla PvP Elemental Shaman video named Sham, its pixelated as hell, but you can see it proc'ing like crazy, back to back to back. Such a crazy item.
classic wow, as a duel wield warrior, I ran duel hazno blades, Got them in UBRS, lv 55 required if i remember correctly, they had a built in proc. with frost oil on one, shadow oil on the other, along with fire enchant. 6 possible procs. . the damage output would have me doing more dps than raid geared rogues. So many people only look at the cookie cutter gear types that everyone else uses without ever looking at the gear that best fits their play style. Played a frost mage running SSC, where half the boss fight of hydros the boss was immune to frost damage and would still out damage fire mages because my character was geared towards my play style . . Gear is only good if you know how to use it.
When I started playing wow, my very first character was a druid in wrath, 2010. I wasn't really rushing and really liked Kaluak's so I did the dailies and turned exalted at level 72 or so. As a Feral I was proud I have a purple weapon and felt superior with the amount of attack power it gave me in cat form. (then my friend told me it's shit once I hit level 80 :( )
For the Unstable Arcanocrystal, I got probably the luck of my entire WoW existence with that during the Argus patch for rolling the random trinkets. Rolled a 935 socketed arcanocrystal. Since I was mythic raiding at the time I went into my spec discord as a healer to ask how to evaluate this vs. other trinkets. QELive and such didn't exist yet. One of the thoerycrafters just said "Fuck you for having that and even asking the question."
Unerring Vision of Lei Shen got nerfed because of Demonology spec, not Affliction. It was still BiS until the expansion ended for Demonology since you could apply Bane of Doom, which spawned Imps every 15s if the spell crit with a 60 second duration. Each imp generated more of your main resource which allowed you to stay in demon form longer and more often.
Missed Crystalforged Trinket imo. Like the Fishing Pole it was a high level item without a level requirement. Should've been a level 70 trinket, but only requirement is Revered with Ogrila. That's obtainable by spamming the Shartuul event
if i was blizzard, i would have had those "special weapons" equip able by low level characters be restricted to the open world proper only. Once you enter PVP, the weapon requires you to leave to re-equip it.
Honestly? I think that they should have kept the fishing pole. The insane grind, the inability to use abilities (save druid), and the extreme dedication it would take to even get one on a low enough level character to abuse it is fine.
I'm surprised there was no footage of Ogrekill the Paladin wielding the fishing pole. Guy was the most obnoxious, most decked out whale 39 twink in the entire US and he was absolutely shameless with that fishing pole + every consumable under the sun (including the frowned upon FAP/slammers/flash grenades etc). He played all day every day 1-shotting people left and right. I literally refused to queue if I knew he was online. He singlehandedly ruined the bracket for horde players while he was allowed to do it.
@@Warcraft.Lore. if you look up Ogrekill fishing pole the first youtube result should be him. He didn't post a lot of videos but all but 1 or 2 of the videos on his channel "Ogrekill" feature him going on fishing pole killing sprees.

The original hand of edward the odd before the nerf was abosolutely broken in PVP In original AVs where games took days to finish, you would hide as a shammy inside a mount of a friend, melee, then insta cap an AB or AV flag when it procced
Forgot the 2h sword off of Deathwing. Unholy Blight from dks could proc it per application of their dots. This lead to DKs spawning over 100 tentacles and wiping entire raids in AV.
A little late, but kinda weird you talk about Starsurge and how insane druids were with UVLS without talking about doom or Soul Swap with warlocks (and more specifically snapshotting)... Like yeah it was insane on druids, but warlocks are why the item was just s tier giga broken - largely in part because snapshotting. For Aff you could have a full set of 100% crit dots for basically the entirety of the fight, and for demo when you cast doom it'd spawn an imp on every doom crit tick (and given the proc rate and doom lasting 1 min, it was easy enough to maintain a near 100% uptime on 100% crit doom).
In early MoP there was a wand I think that dropped off of the monkeys that had 3 extra zeroes at the end of either it’s damage number or stat number I don’t remember and it made you do like legion level damage it was crazy
Should have added a special 2 item mention when you could pop 2 trinkets at once in classic and use both talisman of empherial power and zandalarian hero charm. Casters raped with it
No one remembers Gurthalak from Cataclysm? Even the raidfinder version was so disgusting in pvp. It dropped for my retri pal alt, went from 1700 to 2100+ in a week, even higher than my main.
Its infinitely frustrating to know that the Dread Pirate Ring no longer provides xp boost. It's hard enough to get in the first place, and now they have taken away any reason to actually partake in the fishing event to get it?

another trinket that seems to be forgotten is the class trinket for paladins in hellfire citadel. as a prot paladin it triggered when your health dropped below a certain treshold (different for each ilvl trinket) when it procced it would heal you back upp to full, and the same amount it healed as damage full on aoe. it had an internal hidden cd that was easy to track and when it recet a 100% triggerchance. so as a tank you intentionally dropped all your defensive abilitys and intentionally baited a 1shot, trinket proccs heals u upp mirrors your entire health pool to all the mobs around you. with this trinket you where competing with your top dpsers in raids, and dungeons you just ran from boss to boss 1 shotting everything. firemage one also was stupid, fireblast also cast flamestrike, flamepatch from flamestrike stacks at the time.
Wouldn't your Healing power be super low with a t1 8piece in wotlk? I guess the free constant tranq is really nice though

One thing you missed with the soul capacitor was that it snapshots damage without taking into account item level squish. You could drop a farmable critter and hit it when you went into storing damage. Then unleash squished damage on raid bosses. Used this on archimond once to do like 30% of his hp.
Lmao withered Jim killed me
the fact you knew about enti's quenched blade is incredible. i had one of those back in the day and trying to sell it was a nightmare, people thought i was trolling saying how broken it is lmfao
My brother and I farmed out these swords and went on a rampage in 10-19 BG’s rending everyone to death, it’s one of my best wow memories
I leveled my alt warrior using that blade and spent a good bit also on 10-19 and 20-29 brackets.
fun fact: the name is a reference to an EverQuest item
Great video! The Lei Shen trinket actually got nerfed for warlocks because of demo, not affliction. At the time, if the DoT "Doom" Crit, you'd spawn an imp. Since you could snapshot the DoT with 100% crit chance, you'd quickly have an imp army and be topping the meters.
Thats why we call it the good old times =D
Everyone seems to be forgetting that affliction had Soul Swap at the time, which preserved the same snapshot, and could maintain the 100% crit buff for an entire fight given a swap target and good warlock.
@@danveitch4258which was the real reason it got nerfed for warlocks. Austinfair23 doesn't know his mop lock
Best way to use Soul Capacitor back in the day:
1. Give it a combat rogue with around 75% multistrike
2. Soul Capacitor procs on raid pull (cause thats how on hit trinkets worked)
3. Use the legendary dps ring
Dragonspine Trophy is even more OP back in TBC (pre-nerf). It has no cooldown so it triggers like crazy.
fucking soul preserver.
Oh hey, that's me in the Feral Druid clip fighting Ragnaros! :)
Wait, that was me! What the heck?!
bnuuy
nono, its me for sure
Felstriker was not overpowered. Plenty of better Dagger options in classic.
Yeah i was thinking of doing this, time to start researching :D
Gavel is one of the most hillariously broken items they've added. Farming it was kind of ass, until S4 where you could just buy it after 3 weeks.
was fun using it on my Bear Druid.
8:18 lol
This really took me down memory lane, man... holy cow.
Also the Withered Jim absolutely destroyed me. 10/10.
the reason why the arcano crystal was so strong is because secondary stats scaled much better than main stat back in legion. nowadays the arcano crystal wont be a strong competitor since main stat scales much higher again. no matter that the overall amount of stats was higher. in fact secondaries scaled so strong, that the base line arcano crystal was still BiS or atleast a strong alternative in the last tier in legion. being more than 100 ilvl lower than other trinkets
That fishing rod is overpowered in a new way, underwater breating in delves.
Nifflevar axe from archaeology was 72 to use but did more damage than 70 two handers and more damage than any lvl 80 one hand until ulduar. Basically broke the 70 pvp bracket.
the most overpower : in cataclysm , white items from the expansion alowed in low levels . you can be a pvp monster .
Loved that trinket.
i remember back in my WOTLK days as a feral druid, This was my 2nd weapon which i needed for some bosses like thaddius back in Naxx because with the multiplier the tanks could not handle the Threat when i was wearing my normal Weapon
Its really nice of you to add footage of a feral druid raiding in classic
not to mention that Gavel was so broken in power value, it was basically BIS for BEARS. thats a Strength Weapon being the Best option for an Agility Tank.
it was so strong, it could have been competitive with S1 Dragonflight weapons before Bliz killed the fun and slapped a maximum level you could be before the effects were deactivated.
was really nice to level up with before the nerfs.
Thing about Convergence is that it was immdieitely nerfed for ret paladins before it got later nerfs for the other classes. It's what basically made Ret paladins viable during nighthold
A Warrior with R14 + Rejuv gem could heal for over 1000HP every 5 seconds. We had like 5kish HP at the time IIRC; it was absolutely insane.
That Asmon face killed me needed to rewatch if it's no video from him.
Thank you!
"effort"
I remember there was a throwing weapon in cata that didn't have a level requirement. Rogues would just one tap you in duels, was fun
Spear of Rethu i think used to have no level requirement and was a high ilvl weapon that was bind on account, before they changed it into an heirloom.
The lei shen trinket was nurfed because of demonology warlocks, every crit spawned an imp doom would always crit so you ended up with a constant supply of imps 100s of them I remember doing 90% of all damage in 25man raids.
A friend of mine had a trinket glitch and he had 2 trinkets in one slot, effectively giving him 3 trinkets.
I always thought it was The Sword of a Thousand Truths
To me, the most op trinket was Cache of Acquired Treasures from shadowlands
Combined with the venthr power that gave you a super high crit chance and the Axe weapon my dps on anduin quite literally eclipsed the rest of the raid during the add phase letting a guardian druid do most of the damage for that phase.
Incidentally, the unobtainable Frostmourne Sword added in back in Wrath had no level requirement either.
Small mistake at 8:39. Grays aren't BoE. They generally don't bind at all. I guess "BoE" has become synonymous with "tradable", since almost all useful gear is at least BoE, but not so for most whites and grays.
Prophecy of fear on Arcane Mages in WoD was better than soul capacitor.
Its basically a 1min ice block.
ya 99.9% of players using it now on HC servers

with all the legion trinkets being mentioned surprised Draught of Souls wasn't it got nerfed like 40% for warriors after a tier because it was so busted on single target
I think our Tauren and Nightelf Druids found the Wolfshead helmet part a bit offensive ;)
classic wow, as a duel wield warrior, I ran duel hazno blades, Got them in UBRS, lv 55 required if i remember correctly, they had a built in proc. with frost oil on one, shadow oil on the other, along with fire enchant.
I came here specifically for number 4, because I knew it had to be on this list. Those were some great days gaming!
Thori'dal, the legendary bow was broken during MOP. It was doing stupid high damage. Had so much fun with it. 😂
Added comment and audio is much cleaner here than the first video. Well done again.
Not even close. Real OGs will remember Enteis Quenched Sword, or even the later added Sun Lute of the Phoenix King.
Being a Shadow Priest with the Lei Shen trinket made me feel like a god haha
if i was blizzard, i would have had those "special weapons" equip able by low level characters be restricted to the open world proper only.
I looked around a lot for footage of him but couldn't find anything, if you have any I would love to see it
@@Warcraft.Lore. if you look up Ogrekill fishing pole the first youtube result should be him. He didn't post a lot of videos but all but 1 or 2 of the videos on his channel "Ogrekill" feature him going on fishing pole killing sprees.

The lightning capacitor for images was seriously overpowered. It was great for arcane images until they nerfed it
in MoP i had a level 80 hunter with 100% crit LOl and my buddy had a 80 mage that could do 1.2m dps in 80 raids. we needed a 90 to taunt but he wasn't able to hold aggro
How about the Light of Elune? I think I've saved it for close to 15 years on one of my alts!
The list only really covers equippable items, otherwise I'd be opening a whole new can of worms 😄
The original hand of edward the odd before the nerf was abosolutely broken in PVP
In original AVs where games took days to finish, you would hide as a shammy inside a mount of a friend, melee, then insta cap an AB or AV flag when it procced
Forgot the 2h sword off of Deathwing. Unholy Blight from dks could proc it per application of their dots. This lead to DKs spawning over 100 tentacles and wiping entire raids in AV.
You've got an amazing narration voice, truly a pleasure to listen to
Thunderfury was used by tank warriors even in early Wotlk for aoe aggro. So it was the best for it in 2 expations.
im so happy to see someone else remembers the grey sword!
Came for the Thunderfury Blessed Blade of the Windseeker.... was dissapointed...
I knew a guy that during Legion that made so many boomkins to get that upgraded arcanocrystal. good times haha
In early MoP there was a wand I think that dropped off of the monkeys that had 3 extra zeroes at the end of either it’s damage number or stat number I don’t remember and it made you do like legion level damage it was crazy
Yeah I remember that, I belive it was only in the beta though which is why I didn't want to include it on the list
yea only in beta
Should have added a special 2 item mention when you could pop 2 trinkets at once in classic and use both talisman of empherial power and zandalarian hero charm. Casters raped with it
I was expecting the trinket from the sha of pride ( mop ). that shit on mythic lvl would reduce till almost 50% your major cds.
It's hard enough to get in the first place, and now they have taken away any reason to actually partake in the fishing event to get it?
i remember doing wither J'im all through legion in hopes to get a TF same with the random trinkets, never got a good one on my main but my alt procced one that was around heroic Anotus ilvl with speed bonus
Was sure you'd have Nifflevar Bearded Axe in here

No *_Honorable Mentions_* to *_The Unstoppable Force_* and *_The Immovable Object_* :P
That right there was a definitely a missed opportunity !!! lol
Dane cook definitely proof that that gray sword video was in fact 15 years old 😅
Runeblade of baron rivendare pre nerf was the most op by a long shot it was basically the diamond flask but on u at all times
another trinket that seems to be forgotten is the class trinket for paladins in hellfire citadel. as a prot paladin it triggered when your health dropped below a certain treshold (different for each ilvl trinket) when it procced it would heal you back upp to full, and the same amount it healed as damage full on aoe. it had an internal hidden cd that was easy to track and when it recet a 100% triggerchance. so as a tank you intentionally dropped all your defensive abilitys and intentionally baited a 1shot, trinket proccs heals u upp mirrors your entire health pool to all the mobs around you. with this trinket you where competing with your top dpsers in raids, and dungeons you just ran from boss to boss 1 shotting everything. firemage one also was stupid, fireblast also cast flamestrike, flamepatch from flamestrike stacks at the time.
