Great guide, Knot! I'm hoping for a healing Priest one in the near future :D
You completely forgot to mention one of the big (and unique) utility selling points of resto shamans, that being interrupts. They have and excellent, low mana cost, long range interrupt with a short cooldown, which can be used to great effect in many encounters in all raid tiers. For this reason the spell hit talent in resto tree is also very underrated in my opinion and personally i would drop points in the threat and totem mana cost talents to max this one out for more reliable earth shocks.
Very good point. I don't think that's a bad decision at all, my only thought would be that there will be plenty earth shocks in the raid regardless since shamans are giga stackable as it stands.
@@KnotxD Well for example Fathom Lord in SSC. You can tank the caster boss away from the raid and do interrupts with just the tank and the resto shaman healing that tank instead of taking a dps away from the more dangerous mobs just to handle interrupts. There are other fights where its kinda handy as well like Solarian in TK, Vashj when interrupting MCs etc.
The line “Chungus wave” is now burned into my mind so thanks for that
I chungus waved in my Gildan's this morning if ya, catch ma, drift..
if you accelerate the wave of healing by healing, then with a sufficient amount of bonus to the heal, you can use a lower rank, right?
Main weakness imo is ”stand still casting”. No Riptide yet and missing best healing spell: Hex (if enemy is a frog it dosent do damege to be healed). And one + is the interrupt and/or frost shock earhtbind kiting ability. (Well, this can be considered utility)
hello maybe a noob question but on wednesday with prepatch will there be all new talents and spells? So bloodlust etc? And whats the recommend lvl 60 resto spec?
The new spells and talents for level 60 will be available, though I'm quite sure Bloodlust is a level 70 learned spell, so no lust just yet.
I'm not sure what the best prepatch spec is but I'd assume it definitely includes Earth Shield, the Shaman discord is probably your best bet to find out what is recommended for prepatch :)
@03:10 Casters such as Shadow Priest, Ele Shaman, Arcane Mage. Fire Mages have Burning Soul, Balance Druids have Celestial Focus for wrath casting, and Warlocks have Intensity. Side note: Spriests and Ele Shaman have triggered knockback immunity but they require being struck with a crit so it's largely irrelevant in PvE.
@13:20 Will profoundly disagree with you there as someone who mains Priest and that incredible toolkit of healing.
Don't the enchanting ring enchants require the skill for it to work now in TBC classic?
Yeah indeed, so there's no pick up and drop shenanigans anymore
My only nitpick is having to refresh totems one a time every 2 minutes, then again i got spoiled in wrath onward with totem bars
True, I think you can still make a 4-press macro but maybe I'm wrong
Can I craft for self Sun-Drenched chest and use it if will delete LW??
Nope, you need to retain the profession for the late game stuff, but there's not a specialisation requirement like tribal or anything
@@KnotxD is it really need tailoring at the start or better to save the golds and spent it for example on some another profff.Enchant must have?
Wait. Why would I totem twist as a healer? As a healer every second you don't cast a healing spell, is a lost second.
Well depending on group you may not twist but still want enhancing totems. There is a chance you will twist for raid dps if you're in a melee group for example. The broader point to my mind is that you don't lose much raid-wise by picking up the option to totem twist/provide better totems even if not twisting.
@@KnotxD Most rshammies wont be in melee groups and melee groups will be more sparce in TBC. Totem twisting wont be important for most resto shammies.
Haste isn't worth it till later phases.
When’s the balance Druid video coming?
Tomorrow is the plan!
problem with rsham in 2s is that its not a rdruid xD
They kick ass with a belf ret tho
If i don't want to drop my professions during progression should i go enchant and tailoring or enchant and leatherworking??
So, they changed enchanting and JCing late in the beta to require having the profession to benefit, so no need to worry on that anymore. I would personally go LWing as the windhawk set doubles as a good elemental 3piece too and is a bit cheaper in theory; mooncloth is better though if you want that little extra at the cost of stamina (actually has some relevance for a few mechanics in P1).
You don't sound too happy in this vid, Knot.
My bad! Im all good but I'll make sure there's more life in the next one haha
he's sad because it''s only chain heal. Even holy pala got light and flash :D
Pls let the enha twist and let me heal ty.
I don’t think grounding totems and lightning shield are good use of points for the totem twisting spec. You never use windwall totem and if you’re in a melee dps group for twisting. You are definitely not going to be using stone skin. Instead it would be better to get shield specialization for personal defense.
ill ignore alliance for the obvious reasons... subbed.
Pretty much because they only got 1 shaman race ;) but i guess you are trolling.
Personally I dont think totem twisting is something a resto or elemental shaman should ever really do it can really dick your effectiveness as a healer/caster as a healer it can get people killed
Definitely not for Elemental since DPS has a standard upward progression. But for healing its tricky to discuss since it depends on encounter and composition. Realistically, I think Blizzard would need to tune bosses higher than original tuning to ensure most fights 'force' deep resto. It seems I did a poor job elaborating on this point / clarifying what I meant.
You're primarily healing and that comes first. But as it stands I believe the meta will be super aggressive, if Lust gets sated then it's more likely that Deep resto should be the default and enhancing totems is more of a niche comp pick.
Do resto shams have dog shit mana problems in TBC like they do in classic?
The mana isn't super great but with consistent water shield management, it's mostly fine.
If your having problems in classic you're doing it wrong
@@Zoubasurgical idk man chain spam with 5 piece 2.5 is thirsty if you aren’t full bis/buffed
Idk man I never oom iam similar geared and iam always top 3 heals nax
You speak of this "totem twisting" without explaining what it actually is? :(
Totem twisting is where you put down Windfury Totem followed by Grace of Air before doing it again 7 seconds later. This is because Windfury totem apple is a short duration buff rather than an aura. So you can give melee both Windfury and Agi instead of just one or the other.
My bad I should have done a short recap! There's a short summary in the Enhance video if the above doesn't do the trick.
Lost my vote when you hit me with a cheeky
holy priest is engaging what are u on about
Lol how is it you have been playing wow for so long and still say Tauren wrong. It's like someone telling you there name and gettjng it wrong over and over lol. Still great video
I will never understand people that prioritize PVE over PvP.
