- This #wowclassic video really got away from me. I don't know what happened, it was supposed to be a simple video about Aldor and Scryer. I was drinking and doing a video, then I was dealing with korean and uraguayan stuff idk.
Anyway, blizzcon soon if I don't die of liver failure by then.

Final Conclusions: (Paraphrasing)
Mage: 15:42 This makes the Aldor Enchant better than the Scryer. If you're confident that you can get trinket and ring gear alternatives easy enough, then go Aldor for the better enchant; it will serve you better in the long run.
Warlock: 16:02; The warlock is in a similar situation: Spell power is a better stat than straight crit for UA (Unstable Affliction in the Affliction Talent Tree) and even Destro (Destruction Talent Tree). I could not find anything about Demonology, unfortunately.
Rogue: 16:13; Might of the scourge is still your best shoulder enchant. So if you are a mega try-hard, you can still go and get those, but the two are incredibly close. The Aldor one starts off slightly better but the gap is pretty much closed by Sunwell. Rogue has probably the best balanced enchants of all; I would probably go Aldor for the easy sword and Scryer for the easy dagger depending upon which spec I'm interested in playing. After the expansion is further out and those weapons just don't matter anymore, I'd go Scyer for the convenience.
Warrior: 16:46. To me, this one is pretty easy: I would go Scryer. The tank enchant is slightly better for Scryer and the DPS enchants are very close. Again, there is this chance that that Aldor is better, but the necklaces will be replaced in the end unless you are not raiding.
Paladin: 17:09. Like Warrior, I would go Scyrer for the same reasons, unless you are healing as a main. For Paladin healing, the Aldor enchant is superior the the Scryer one.
Priest: 17:22 Generally, plus healing is better than mp5 but they aren't exactly comparable; it's not like plus crit and plus spell damage are both there to add damage; they do different things. But in 2.3, meditation for priest was changed, then in 2.4, mana regeneration calculations were changed. In 2.4.3 Spirit is miles better than mp5, so I would probably go for the plus healing. For Shadow Priest, crit is lower value than other casters. There's no plus crit talent.
Druid: 18:05. This one is tricky; tanks druids might benefit more going Aldor; you do want to defense cap, but it's less useful for a Druid if you are already are hit capped compared to the other tanks. For Balance, generally the same as other casters (spell power > spell crit). For Tree, Aldor slightly better. Probably Aldor for Druid, Although this is the one which I am least sure of.
Shaman: 18:40. Enhance depends. Healing, Aldor slightly better. Generally, If healer, go Aldor, otherwise go Scryer.
Hunter: 19:40. Go Scryer.
Ultimately, the difference is so small, it really doesn't matter in the end considering the later patches, so chose based upon conveniences if you will unless you are a max-er.

Coming back to this video now after having played tbc since launch. The number one thing that should determine which faction to choose is whether or not you can survive the fall dmg from aldor inn. If you cant, go scryer.

I remember the FP being a decent deal. The farming around both FPs are Solid and comparable to Elem Plateau.
Yeah I thought about talking about which one is closer to farms, but both are good. Aldor is closer to coilskar and the water eles. I think scryer is closer to air ele spawns but both aren't too far from them since there are some on the north side too.
Although I do remember people complaining to no end about getting ganked at their fp... but I don't remember which one that was.

Just a tiny thing: as an ele, unless your gear is shite, you really don't want the hit trinket.
You're over the hit cap in T4, pre BiS, even lvl 60 Naxx gear. So no ele will wear it.
People say you want to have around 30% crit, so a bit of extra crit might be good very early on but you'll be there in pre BiS, anyways.
At any rate, the Naxx enchant is best.
But the Scryers ring is nice, especially for pvp.

Yeah, I mentioned Naxx enchant once, but didn't think I needed to keep bringing them up each time since it's just aldor vs scryer. Definitely though for a lot of specs Naxx one is the best one... if you can get it.
One key difference is Aldor rep is farmed in Shadowmoon Valley while Scryers in Netherstorm. Just don't know which dungeons can drop which items.

The shoulder enchants don't matter for physical dps because Saph enchants are better :^)

so the shattered suck neck proc for scryer, while on paper they are close, its subject to rng. their proc can crit and do more dmg, or it can be resisted and do no dmg. aldors proc always gets value

I'm going druid for tbc so I would go aldor cause we have a easier time for defence cap and bleeds cant crit so more ap the better

Under the "Convenience" category, you missed the Aldor's easy/quick passage to Nagrand. It's not a huge deal, but hey! I's not nothing, either.
Actually I did think about it. To me it doesn't really matter since like the elevators, once you have flying it won't really come into play.

Am dumb brain, did not play TBC originally and know very little about this stuff - would love if you could make a simple writeup or vid for what to look for on Rogue. Was going to go lw/skinning, sounds like I need Blacksmithing?
Nah you shouldn't need to go Blacksmithing as rogue. The sword isn't incredible, but the mace is good but mace spec isn't the greatest for rogue in pve so it can be replaced without too much difficulty, although it's not bad for pvp. I probably won't be doing a ton of specific rogue guides right now, but once beta comes out and I get to actually test things I might get back to rogue vids.

Stat weights probably isn't the best term, I was really into ffxiv theorycrafting and thats what we used to use then. In TBC people usually use sp or ap equivalents.

Never played tbc so pardon my stupid questions:
1. any chance you can level both faction reps? I'm guessing no because these vids tell people we have to chose.
2. Can you chance reps? Like start with a faction then decide later on because you changed spec to go with the other faction?
Nah, they're not stupid questions.
Anytime you gain aldor rep, you lose scryer rep and vice versa. So you can't level both at the same time.
If you decide at some point you want to change, you can, but uh... It's a massive pita so I would recommend not doing that.
Changing factions is a grind in League with The insane title, wouldt recommend.

I had scryer neck in tbc and it shoot shadow bolts... It was shit..
Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't warrior and paladin tanks go for aldor for the shoulder enchant since defense rating has a cap at 490 where dodge has no cap?
Nah it's not really a cap.. it's not even exactly a soft cap. Once you're at 490 you become uncrittable, but you still gain avoidance and block from defense.

I’m not gonna lie the first video I watched I was who the fuck is this dood and why is his voice like that. I even gave your video a thumbs down because I was being a hater. Ok so reason they say aldor is great because if u look threw the procs melee/ hunter would go aldor generally 200attack power proc is pretty big (it had a petty high proc rate tbh) tanks a tank isent gonna want exp over dodge so again aldor a healer won't mind a insta heal sure but 220 healing 10 seconds let's say 5 heals (2 sec per)that's a 1100 which is near double scryer equivalent...and casters spell damage 120 is a sweet proc if u look at some end game gear that proc is stronger then end game stated gear aldors side on necks where the best...which SUCKS if u went scryer for a enchant or anything because u effectively kill a nice chunk of ur own damage playing on a private server for a while made me realize the only thing that wasent balanced in tbc WHERE that necks procs also the fact some trinkets could be used on the same cooldown and others couldn't (u will have to mix and match I'm not telling but 2 of them are easy to get and really good when paired prob around +400 spell power or so combined)
