I got mine from Jomashop : www.jomashop.com/tissot-herit...
Beautiful, straight and to the point watch. Less is usually more.
I did purchase the watch. Its fantastic. I watched your review several times as it is the best I found on this watch. I also Subscribed to your channel.
Excellent review! Thank you
That is the best looking Tissot I have ever seen.
Thank you for the review. I'm very interested in this watch.
Great review. This is a LOT of watch for $400!!!
Thank you sir. I agree 100%.
I've been staring at this thing for many months, not able to figure out what it is. I think you are right about the versatility. Looking at it on that distressed brown leather, it looks like maybe an office watch. Looking up pictures on a crocodile and it starts to dress up pretty well. On a Nato it's a passable field watch with sufficient water resistance. I think I need it...
I don't think you'd regret it. It's truly a beautiful watch.
The best model 🔥🔥🔥
I wish this were just a couple of millimeters smaller, but I know the movement precludes it. I love everything about it otherwise.
I have one and its very nice love it
Just bought one... not here yet, but I am looking forward to it:)
Its a real looker in person. Hope youre enjoying it.
Saving up for one as we speak! I have a Hamilton khaki field mechanical as my everyday watch, and it’s made me fall in love with all things hand wind! Lol
You wont be disappointed! Its truly a beautiful watch in person.
I wear a lot of automatics but there is something special about a manual wind watch. Gives a watch more vintage charm.
I couldn’t agree more!
Hand wind watches and manual transmission cars 👍.
Beautiful Watch, would be even nicer with more Power Reserve, and Power Reserve indicator on the back of the Watch
I going to have it.
It's a stunning watch
Beautiful - I think it would be perfect if it had a Cream IWC colour dial, applied numerals and slightly shorter lugs. But then it would be the IWC Portugieser Automatic 40!
100%
I don't get the lug to lug on this one. Other than that, I really like it. But it'll over hang my 7 inch wrist for sure.
this in a 40mm with sub 50mm lug to lug would be perfection
I wish this was in white and not in silver. So close to being perfect for me!
That would be sharp. I think black and salmon would look good too.
I wish the same specs but in 38mm
Nice and stunning watch!! May I ask how large is your wrist?
Sure thing. My wrist fluctuates between 7.5" and 7.75"
Watched your review before buying one myself, it looks great.
The only issue i have, is that the crown seems to move a bit to the outside, before i pull it to the second position, is that normal?
I don't think so. There was no noticeable/odd movement in the crown with this one.
Barring another issues (loose movement clamps, etc) you may want to have your watchmaker check that it does NOT have a true ETA6498 stem installed, rather that it is an ETA 6497 stem for a wristwatch application. As the 6498 is for a Hunter case pocket watch movement the "true" ETA6498 stem is machined to allow the crown to be pressed in (to open the case) and then pulled out for time setting. This may be what is allowing the additional movement. Since now these movements are almost always used in wristwatches most stems online are listed a 6497/6498 but there (apparently) really is a ETA6498 specific stem. In one Swiss listing I see the 6497 stem indicated as the "smaller gap" stem. Hope this might be of use.
Fyi ETA 6498-1 movement was 18,000 bph.
I wonder if the modern version of the movement has been tweaked by swatch to run a touch faster. I use a number of websites to verify movement details but there is conflicting info (seems to be based on the age of the content). WatchBase says 18,000, Caliber Corner says 18,800 (newer), ETA says 18,000 (and unavailable) while I just read a WindUp article about the new WWII Hamilton Khaki Pilot stating 18,800bph. I know the originals ran at 18,000 but it seems that may have changed.
@@hammondwatch2808No such thing as 18,800 alternations. That’s a typo. It’s 18,000 bpm or 2.5 Hz. This is originally a Unitas 6498-1 pocket watch movement from 1950. This is a rock solid movement, which even H. Moser & Cie has used, albeit highly modified. There are no flies on this caliber. Btw, it fills about 87% of the case.
Man im worries itll look too big on my 7 inch wrist but this is beatiful
I would just make sure who ever you order it from has a strong return policy. Leave the stickers on, throw it on your wrist and if youre not immediately in love, send it back. I Think Jomashop makes you pay shipping but I'm not sure about Ashford or Watchmaxx.
Did you end up getting this?
One issue I have with it are those two large gears prominently displayed on top of the movement. Looks like they slapped those gears in there raw...then put in on a display window? I've seen that movement with gears with a circular brushed surface down the teeth with a mirror polish on the teeth. Looks worthy of a display window. I guess I can just source some good looking gears and replace them..
While I agree they could have been a little more detail oriented with the movement I think it makes sense for the price point.
@@hammondwatch2808 Just received mine, and I have to say, pics and vids don't do it justice. This is downright fantastic, and the gears look perfectly good in person. At the price i got it at, I'm pretty sure an aftermarket band of this quality would cost over 100. This is a steal at under 400.
i bought it from Jomashop, $390 only!
Thats a lot of watch for the money
Thats a lot of money for the watch
How would this look with a NATO strap?
With how "plain" the design is I bet it looks great on anything. Definitely a strap monster.
Black strap or this brown?
This is brown but they also sell it on black.
@@hammondwatch2808 you like it brown or black? I am still deciding
@@ocb05 Personally I think the brown looks better. I wear this casually and think the brown strap leans more towards the vintage look I was going for.
@@hammondwatch2808 thanks. Was deciding between this Vs stowa marine classic Arabic.
@@ocb05 thats a tough one. If money isnt a big factor I LOVE the stowa marine classic. But if your looking for something to wear casually and knock around in, go with the tissot. we went on a trip to st augustine recently and this tissot was great for wandering around having drinks in the evening. Its big but you forget its there because you (or at least I) wasn't worried about babying it. I think I'd ultimately end up treating the stowa differently.
I do not expect a chronomerter level of accuracy, but what is you are having on a daily basis?
-7 seconds
Modern Sizing is the problem
I wish they would have done 2 different sizes but given the movement used, there wasn't much choice in the case size.
42mm is crazy. Definitely not classic and dressy
Too late too big.
Hard to... uh... pay attention... uh... to the... uh... details of the watch... uh... when literally every 5 to 10 seconds... uh... for the entirety of.. uh.. the 10 minute video... uh... the narrator says 'uh.'
It would be akin to... uh... Japanese water torture to... uh... ever watch.. uh... any of this channels other... uh... videos.
I can't remember any other... uh... watch review channels ever... uh... having a host with such... uh.. a fixable speech tic.
Hilarious that you uh liked your own comment because nobody else would. Maybe you could use your moms account so you get a second one.
