Why havent you learnt how to sedate the seals when it comes to serious in or removing those giant hooks from those animals it seems a bit non sensacle to put yourselves and the seals through so much stress ( injuries ) and tiredness at the end of the day you guys must be exhausted 😍🌹💐🌷🍀💟☮️anyway i love what your doing for these poor creatures who get themselves tangled and fish hooked its just dreadfull these fishing people need education seriously anyway much love from indonesia and Australia and keep up the good work ❤️🌹😍🌷💐💙

We do have a lot of comments about sedation for this video, so here is our answer to all of them.
The sedation of pinnipeds is a very complex process and much riskier than of terrestrial mammals because of their proximity with water and their anatomical and physiological adaptations related to diving.
A rescue operation with sedatives would also take on average ten to fifteen times longer, possibly causing the Cape fur seal to overheat.

Why would you even think sedating an animal like that is a good idea ? I can't stand people like you who think you're the first person to think of that sh*t. They are doing the best they can with the best tools. Or are you not paying attention ?

@@Synch9256 they know. I work as veterinarian, a lot of animals, even wild ones in pain at first resist a lot, but with time they see that they being released or that pain starts to be lighter or pressure of something starts to be weaker and slowly with time animals slowly stop to resist. I had a rottweiler with stuck fork in its mouth, it was so deep that on X ray you could see it almost pushed thru it's nose. That dog hated me every time they brought him and I was sure I will have to sedate him or use general anaesthesia. To my surprise and everyone else after first 2 minutes of struggle, he opened his mouth by himself and was completely calm and waited to be done.
What came next I did not expect and no one else, my couleges and me had a suspicion coz of a position of a fork and how deep it was that it was no accidents. They said how their child (15) was giving him a piece of meat on fork. That did not hold a water and what dog done next proved us we were right, dog jumped from a tabel after fork was removed and attacked a kid. Craziest thing was kid found it hilarious. We reported the whole case and found out the dog was removed from them and kid was sent to psychiatric observation.

... ... ... Czy jest sens o tym pisać? Wszyscy przecież to wiemy.
W kazdym kraju.
Mimo wszysto życzę wszyskim pokoju i radości.

Most intense rescue...huge strong seal with two hooks...one near eye and other in mouth! Looks like he finally relaxed after the hooks were removed. Great teamwork OCN!!

I love wally's laughter. Even after watching this rescue numerous times it still makes me smile.
