My dad had a quality paint job done on his older buick. Was using this constantly to keep the dust off. Several months later I went to wash it, the new paint job was full of micro scratches all over. I use this product after I wash my car, and it works fine. But nothing is going to prevent scratches if you're wiping it when its dirty, even just from sitting in the garage.
Yes, I just can’t bring myself to do anything but wipe off bird poop with it and maybe at the most the day after I’ve washed and wax the car and driven 1520 miles, and I want the shine to bounce back. I will use it again sometimes.
If the car is dirty/dusty do I have to rinse it with only plain water before the foam and before this detailer?? Or is it fine if I remove the dust off the car with a dry microfiber before washing with soap?
I use a California Car Duster for minor dust build up on my car - it does not leave scratches or residue on the waxed surfaces of your car. However, it may leave streaks on your windshield. These are very popular in western states that get little or no rain and dust build up is a problem
Thank you for taking the time to explain! The video is informative for those of us who are in the learning phase. Since I bought my new car, I have been adamant about keeping it clean-clean. Love Meguiar's! :)
Keep up the good work on keeping your investment/new baby clean! Thanks for the kind words and checking out the video. I saw you subscribed, thanks for that as well!
you're gonna laugh but my grandpa, my dad and now me...we all took a 2 king size sheets, sew them together along the bottom, and cover your car with it while it's in the garage. inexpensive. won't scratch, keeps dust and dirt off and if the cover gets dirty throw it in the washer! simple!
Good Video. I’m already used tens of quick detailers/wax and a lot of these are really similiar. I had already few bottles of Meguiar’s Detailer and few other brands such as RR Customs, Auto Finesse, Simoniz etc. and never seen really big difference between them just on this product and some od them are much cheaper. Some of products like Wax or Shampoo might be better. Second thing, once quick detailer applied, and your car will get dusty after 1/2 days, the best option what you can do is rinse it properly. Wax will help to removes stains of water with dust and you will be able to put safely another layer of detailer. On dry, covered in dust surface it’s better to do not use anything to avoid scratches.
You may want to look into a dust mop for your car. I use the same method you use but use Mothers. The dust mop makes a huge difference. Also available at Autozone.
Great tutorial and advice! One of the better videos I’ve seen on personal quick self detailing! Highly recommend this Quick Detailer after a full two bucket system wash, and full clay bar and polish treatment!
I just bought another bottle of this, and it says improved formula on it. Also has a better sprayer on it. The top of the sprayer is yellow. Outstanding stuff!
You are wiping dirt across your paintwork then filling the paint imperfections with the detailer. It will look great week by week, but you are slowly adding micro swirls to your car.
If the car is dirty/dusty do I have to rinse it with only plain water before the wash? Or is it fine if I remove the dust off the car with a dry microfiber before the car wash?
Google two bucket method Pre wash first then wash, ideally get as much dirt off with just water and product/snowfoam before touching the car with a mitt
Being a poor Brit I like this stuff, I've no garage and no access to external water supply so when the car gets dusty I drive it to the petrol station and jetwash off the worst of it then use this to tidy it up and it works a treat.
I used detailer on my wife's car a few days after washing it and the paint just popped even better than after washing now it's a routine about 3 days after wash
Moostang, if you really like this product you can buy it in a gallon size for much less cost. Meguiars D155. Autogeek has 2 gallons with a dedicated spray bottle for $33 + shipping. If you really like this product this is the best way to buy it.
I use this stuff but I always use California duster to get the dust off. Then apply quick detailing spray. I've never seen anybody do it like that. Hey its your car
OMG, thanks... this is exactly what I was looking for. It seems like a obvious answer, but for me not. Thanks... Do you have a video of a quick detailer for the interior?
I recently got a new car so i decided to get cleaning products to keep it clean bought this product and definitely not dissapointed especially since i live in a very dusty area i clean my car daily before i drive
Tip I use if car is hot. I spray vehicle with water, spray quik detailer, spray some more water, and wipe till dry.You do have to be generous if you do it this way. Your way I do x2 a week. Hides a tad the swirls too! Turtle wax spray/detailer cant remember which does good too, I just hate the smell. I love Meguiars. p.s. Always do in shade.
Thanks for sharing, would love to see a video on how you wash your car. Have you used or how do you feel about using a power washer and foam gun/cannon. I pretty much just take my to the local car wash (wand no auto-washing) then towel dry when done.
Dennis I don't have an issue with power washers or foam guns but there are a few things to stay away from. I would avoid using the power washer where you have rock chips or discrepancies in the paint as you want to avoid the possibility of getting under the paint and chipping away more. Also I would never touch my car with one of the brushes at those washes, those are filled with dirt and grime that can do a number on your paint job. Hope that was helpful?! Thanks for checking out the video sir and leaving a comment!
just wanted to give you a heads up that is to dirty for the Quick Detailer. You are just scratching your paint by doing that with that level of dirt you will have to polish the car very soon! if you do this regularly. You need to do a waterless wash first and use a waffle weave towel that is ideal for i task like that. Meguiar's makes a Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere that is ideal for this sort of situation, But i would suggest trying out adam's polishes waterless wash it was made for jobs like this, Then i would follow up with the detail spray
I suppose you didn't hear the part where I said my car is beyond dusty for this and should need a true wash. I don't really get the hype around the Adams products to be honest... They are the hot thing right now, a year ago it was chemical guys products.. I like the ability to go to the store and purchase my items.. I appreciate the comments though! Thank you for checking out the video!!
Had a torch red corvette for 8 years, it never seen rain or water of any kind. Washed it after every drive with Meguiars detail. No swirls no scratches, just deep red shine. Done it with heavier dust than shown here, never an issue. I contacted Meguiars prior to doing this and they said they would pay for damages if it didn't work. No complaints from me, and now doing the same with my C7
Wouldn’t it be a better idea to use a dust mop to remove the dust first? Wiping a car even with the best microfiber cloth without cleaning the dust off will result in micro scratches as if you’re using a grit 1000 sandpaper on your car
+Amuro89 yes I do, but mainly my larger towels that I use to dry the car with after a wash. Dirty rags like these I use to clean the wheels and tires only. I wash all my tags on their own so clothes or other towels to get messed up.
Yes sir! Here is a link to another video of mine on washing your car where I do exactly what you are talking about. Thanks for watching Eddie! ruclips.net/video/qwEDvBpDybw/видео.html
Great videos. I might have been concerned that the dust/dirt might act as an abrasive and cause whirls in the clear coat using this method. Is that a real risk? I'm so pedantic about rinsing with the hose before ever wiping the paint with a chamois or cloth
what some would consider "clean", to another person (who is truly obsessed with their car like me), the car can never be clean enough. some ppl enjoy and take great pride in detailing, keep their car immaculate--especially if you're a collector and plan on re-selling, investing and/or trying to retain maximum value of the car (at least cosmetically). basically, it's real tedious shit the average person does not give a fuck about lol. i can relate to @moostang09. subbed.
moonstang I noticed that u said u transferred some of your products into another bottle. Them Megs products bottles they don't unsrew Im I doing something wrong Ive tried pressing the sides and unscrewing counter clockwise they don't budge. Ive wanted to transfer some of my Megs into larger spray bottles How do u unsrew yours or do u cut the bottle caps off I have and it gets plastic in the liquid! Thanks for your time!!
Do you know the effects of this stuff on plastidip? Just curious, I don't want destroy the hard work I put into dipping the wheels. Great video by the way
Richard I am not fully aware of the harms of this product on plastidip but j do know people that use standard Quick Detailers on their fully plastidipped car without issue. I would look at contacting dipyourcar.com and getting their thoughts. Everything I've seen claims the dip holds up extremely well, if installed properly. Hope this helps brotha! What color did you dip your wheels btw?
I was thinking the same. Dip holds up well to most tire/rim cleaners I've seen but I've had less time to be consistent (something about having 3 kids that has me using this excuse lol). I decided to go with a specialty color called anthracite grey because the typical gun metal is just too grey for the tungsten color of my car. I'll shoot you some pics of it later, the colors mess really well together and I've had tons completely me on my "rims" haha. I did about 5 coats which is my minimum when I do them.
5 coats is pretty strong! I wouldn't think the quick detailer would have a negative effect on the dip if you apply it to the rag first and not the wheels. That way you are wiping the dirt off then drying it immediately. My only fear is that it would fade the color or increase the rate that it fades.
That's what I was thinking as well but worse case (aside from the hard work it takes) it's fairly cheap to do it over again. cost me 30-40 and time that's all
hey there nice vid! and for what i've seen awesome product! hey one question my car is like 1 year old i have a question apart from cleaning and giving the paint a glossy appearence. does this product maybe help with like tiny scratches like ones you only can see with a determinate light so to speak? because i dont want to use scratch 2.0 or so that seems too much for my tiny scratch ...

You have to use a lot more product and a lot MICROFIBER towels WITHOUT EDGES!!!!. You may not see the scratches now because of the wax in the spray. Once the wax is gone you will see it.
I was mostly talking about for when it is just lightly dusty... Everything I read and saw online said to be conservative with the spray. Not true you say? Can you elaborate on towels without edges? Thanks for the feedback dude.
Yes, I believe I said that in the video. I know it was a long one. I tried filming it with less dust but you couldn’t see a difference. It wasn’t showing up on camera. Typically at this point I would wash the car completely and use this method while I am drying it.
It depends how dirty the car is.. If there is mud and loads of road grime than I would wash the car and use Quick Detailer during the drying process. You can see how I do that in my How to Wash Your Car video.
+SAL I use both and im not really impress with the quick wax, except I do like the static repellent this product have in to prevent this nasty dust !, I suggest to try lucas oil slick mist , smell great, super easy to remove and leave nothing but shine! maybe don't last as long as meguiar stuff but I don't really care because I always quick spay my car anyway !
i actually don't get this....The dust is always gonna be around....even if you use a detailer. I would think the Detailer would be for water marks and oils on the car or whatever. Not for dust
If i use the meguiar's ultimate quik wax do I really need the quik detailer? I know the detailer is for like dust and like bird poop but is it like necessary? or should i get the detailer over the wax? Any suggestions? I just plan to get a car wash like every month but like since my car is new and white theres like dust and poop all over it?
My dad had a quality paint job done on his older buick. Was using this constantly to keep the dust off. Several months later I went to wash it, the new paint job was full of micro scratches all over. Awe, you are welcome. Thanks!
Informative for those who want to f up their paint job....
I use a california duster pretty frequently and sometimes will go over it with a quick detailer after; definitely recommend looking into it
you're gonna laugh but my grandpa, my dad and now me...we all took a 2 king size sheets, sew them together along the bottom, and cover your car with it while it's in the garage. inexpensive. won't scratch, keeps dust and dirt off and if the cover gets dirty throw it in the washer! simple!

I did the same with my dad for our 3 cars
Brilliant
I love that!

I'm not sure these sprays are wise to use. There must be particles that get dragged across the finish despite the floating away.

+Mark David thanks for the input Mark! 👍🏻

The Meguiars Ultimate Quick Detailer is the best:)
+AutoClean I like it!

Perfect. I love how you keep it real simple. I used this on my Black Civic Hatchback after a wax on certain areas and it worked very well
Awesome video! Really looking forward on how you wash your car I also have a black mustang and its so hard to keep it clean!!!
Arturo it can be a pain in the butt sometimes! Thanks for checking out the video and I'll work on making a full car wash episode!
But clean detailed black colour car looks best of all. It's a pure satisfaction.
I do this on my new black Volvo XC 60...and...wow... the Car looks like greater... Meguiars Detailer is a great Product for black Cars
I keep a dehumidifier in my garage and the circulation of air prevents most of the dust settling. A small fan would do the same.
Moostang, if you really like this product you can buy it in a gallon size for much less cost. Meguiars D155. Autogeek has 2 gallons with a dedicated spray bottle for $33 + shipping. If you really like this product this is the best way to buy it.
Thats some great info! I appreciate the input, that will save me some money in the long run!
I use this stuff but I always use California duster to get the dust off. Then apply quick detailing spray. I've never seen anybody do it like that. Hey its your car
I would think the duster would scratch by moving the dust or other things around on the car...
Do I need to wax my car afterwards? I have a new car and I only have the quick detailer
awsome video keep up the great work.see you on the next one.God Bless!!!!
Very informative. Your car looks great ! Thanks for posting the video
Thanks Keith!

Is this one can replace to remove polishing oils with contaminants?
can u pls show us how u apply ultimate paste wax? i feel like i'm doing it wrong
I would like how you clean your car, also how you would clay your car. I have a white Subaru Forester.
Wouldn’t it be a better idea to use a dust mop to remove the dust first? Wiping a car even with the best microfiber cloth without cleaning the dust off will result in micro scratches as if you’re using a grit 1000 sandpaper on your car
might be a stupid question but what was this product used for? to have a quick clean instead of using water and soap?
Microfiber towers, the best thing since sliced bread!
I would like to see you doing the wash & wax :)
Awesome! Thank you for checking out the video and letting me know what you are interested in seeing!

If the car is in the garage and the surface is cool can you spray onto the surface?
A lot of great handy tips.
+Raiden X Glad I could help Raiden!
Can you use it on white paint? The product description mentions it’s great for dark paint
Yes you can
I love this product, only use Mcguires, and really enjoyed your video thanks !!!
Hahaha “I love Taylor Swift”
Awesome video man, I’ve been using Meguires cleaning products for a long time as well!
Relatively new to car detailing. I've heard this detailing spray can be used on a freshly washed car thats still wet to help with drying ?
Yes sir! Here is a link to another video of mine on washing your car where I do exactly what you are talking about. Thanks for watching Eddie!

Yes it is best to rinse the car before.
3:15 He talks about the car not having the shine or sheen of a black car even though the paint looks like it was painted yesterday.
I try to keep it clean.
what some would consider "clean", to another person (who is truly obsessed with their car like me), the car can never be clean enough. some ppl enjoy and take great pride in detailing, keep their car immaculate--especially if you're a collector and plan on re-selling, investing and/or trying to retain maximum value of the car (at least cosmetically). basically, it's real tedious shit the average person does not give a fuck about lol. i can relate to @moostang09. subbed.
***** thanks bro! Some people think it is clean and to me it looks filthy but they don't get it. Preciate the support and welcome to the channel!!!

That's what I was thinking as well but worse case (aside from the hard work it takes) it's fairly cheap to do it over again. cost me 30-40 and time that's all
do you have a paint sealer on there as well to protect the paint?
Do I need to wash 🧽 the car first?
@moostang09: can I also use a quick detailer for black plastic parts (non-painted) on my car? For example: on to a rear diffuser?
great Job i do the same thing awesome product use it all the time
+Joe Sanchez hey thanks Joe! I can't get enough of this stuff.
hey there nice vid! and for what i've seen awesome product! hey one question my car is like 1 year old i have a question apart from cleaning and giving the paint a glossy appearence. does this product maybe help with like tiny scratches like ones you only can see with a determinate light so to speak? because i dont want to use scratch 2.0 or so that seems too much for my tiny scratch ...
To my knowledge quick detailer does not help scratches.. Maybe a wax compound of some sort would be more of what you are looking for.
+der Spanier (I used Meg's cleaning wax and a foam pad, by hand, for the infinitesimal etching.)
ok thank you guys for your answers !
I think its better to lightly dust first before using a detail spray. Less chance of scratching this way, imo.
+mkygod I agree but let me ask you this... How do you lightly dust? I feel like any way you dust you have a chance of scratching it..
I use a california duster and just lighitly feather over the finish without letting the weight of the duster rest on the paint.
+mkygod Those things scare me but sound like it is worth a shot. I had a buddy recommend me pick one up too.
very imformative brother....thank u ..awesome video
Thanks Joseph!
Great vid moostang , i have a question ?what camera are you using for your videos? Kinda curious
Thanks dude! I use a Canon T3i mainly but the second camera in this video is a GoPro Hero4 Black edition.
I wanna see the wash and wax.
Adam Adams You got it brotha! I will get to work on that!
doesnt wiping when its that dusty without washing scratches the paint?
I always use "correctly" a California Car Duster first.
There's no correct way to use a car duster. Unless you mean to throw it in the trash.
Thanks for the QD video. How do you wash the car?
Holly I have another video in this same series. Check out my car washing playlist, you will find it in there. 👍🏻
Spits shines the hell out of chrome too
Forward to 4:00......groan.
if you frequently wipe down your car with this detailing solution, will it take off wax?
that was awesome thanks bro I really like the video thanks a lot and am waiting your new video
I hope you do a video about the inside clean what is the best products for it
thanks again ;)
Inside cleaning video will be coming out soon. I was in the process of waiting for the interior to get a little dirty so I would have something visual to see in the video. Keep an eye out for it soon.
Ok that is cool
And nice ride bay the way ;)
Get yourself a California duster..works great!!
I need to get one and try that out. Ive always been scared that it will scratch the car up....
+moostang09 dont use a california duster...microfibre and detailer is much better for your paint
It works great if used correctly. Move it lightly over the surface, barely touching the paint.
Did you ever figure out anything for the door handles
This product advtizes that it can be used hot or cool paint. That being said, I don't like to use it while it's hot, especially on a black vehicle, I know, I had 4 new black trucks and black brings on a whole new list of problems. For dust (regardless of density), it's more efficient and cheaper to use California duster or something similar.
Just read the hundred of satisfied reviews.
It still scares me. I suppose I should give it a shot and not let assumptions ruin a potential beneficial item. Thanks for the push to try new things!
Thank you for the info bro!!
+dirty money
the rag company on amazon
is that detail spray Ok to use on white car ?
Nice video man I have the same product and there amazing 👍
+Miguel Angel Valencia Campuzano Thanks brotha! I love the Meguiars line of products!
Wouldn't this cause scratches unless you have completely clean your car?
Yes, I believe I said that in the video. I know it was a long one. I tried filming it with less dust but you couldn’t see a difference. It wasn’t showing up on camera. Typically at this point I would wash the car completely and use this method while I am drying it.
Lol I use the same soap. I usually use the ultimate quick wax tho to detail mine.
This soap is awesome! I love the way it beads up when it comes into contact with water and it makes washing your car so much easier!!
Thx for the handy tips
+raymond9339 Thanks for checking out the video Raymond, glad I could offer some advice!
Hi! Does the car need to be washed first before using the quick detailer?
nope, basically its for instant cleaning, or touch ups, like if youwant to remove simple dirt like bird poop etc.,
It depends how dirty the car is.. If there is mud and loads of road grime than I would wash the car and use Quick Detailer during the drying process. You can see how I do that in my How to Wash Your Car video.
meguiars the best ....✌
Does it work for water spot?
This should never be done to a dirty vehicle period...only after a fresh wash/dry
I getting streakign when using this is it bad of the streaks are left on the car and it sits outside
Squid Gaming you’re not wiping the product off properly, spray on wipe. Flip to dry towel and wipe off
Hi, can you use the retailer on the windows and windscreen?
No
Is it safe for ceramic'd cars?
Great job mate.
Thanks, PS you spell your name the right way! Coming from a fellow Sean! lol.
Can this be used on a white car?
Awesome video!!!
Thank you!
can i use this after using the quik wax
Yes sir. Use it when you dry the car. 👍🏼
@@moostang09 its for my motorcycle :)
Meguiar's ROX!
Good job guy. Thank you!
Thanx , nice video, greetz from Germany:-)
Thanks Bas! Willkommen auf dem Kanal. I don't know if you speak German or not but welcome to the channel!
Please make a full car wash episode
Will do Christian!! Thanks for letting me know.
Nice video! Do you use Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax?
+SAL I use both and im not really impress with the quick wax, except I do like the static repellent this product have in to prevent this nasty dust !, I suggest to try lucas oil slick mist , smell great, super easy to remove and leave nothing but shine! maybe don't last as long as meguiar stuff but I don't really care because I always quick spay my car anyway !
great thanks @moostang09 am waiting all your new ;)
Thank you!
Good video. Thanks.
i actually don't get this....The dust is always gonna be around....even if you use a detailer. I would think the Detailer would be for water marks and oils on the car or whatever. Not for dust
Luka Arko know that is how to win friends by insulting them, good job buddy!!
Gregster86 hella dumb lol
@Buff Daddy If your thought potential is up to your spell level, no one should listen to you. Get a spell checker.
Great video Sean! I would love to see a vid on a full car wash. :D
Excellent, I will make that happen. There seems to be a ton of interest in it! Thanks for checking out the video.
good job!!
That product is used once the car is finished washing it
Awesome, thanks!
+Maximiliano Obach 👍🏻👍🏻 you got it boss!
Pro tip: get a car cover, if your car really sits during the week.
+Baerchenization That is a valid point however now that I have my baby I do drive the car more throughout the week.
