Given what is seen from you so far then yes, amazing job as always pure ASMR from another clean freak(how the hell do you let your car end up looking so bad, seriously spend 15 min with a vacuum and 10 min with some APC and a couple of towel once a week and its done)
20 years ago, I worked as a valet runner. I used to get cars as dirty as this and I always asked myself: "If this is their car, I wonder what their home looks like"...
Right? 90% chance their house is filthy. Ironically though, sometimes if someone is messy (not dirty) with their car, they're not messy with their house and vice versa. I have absolutely no idea why. Someone's car will look like a bomb went off in the back seat, but their house is tidy. But filthy like this? Filthy definitely everywhere. I'm sure their body is pure filthy too.
I wouldn’t call it as much as a anti smoking video, rather an anti irresponsible video. Had the owner never smoked in the car. You would never knew he smoked. Some people are disgusting. Whether they smoke or not. I’ve known people that smoke that are fairly clean people.
I despise cigarettes it is my nemesis. I love that you look after your health when dealing with such disgusting muck , You’re attention to detail is amazing .
You’ve just earned yourself more business from this dealership! This went from a $500 vehicle to a $5k vehicle easily. Not sure how someone could sit in that or let it get that bad. Filthy
Even clean, I wouldn’t want to be the new buyer! I imagine the mechanicals were as bad as the interior. Oil changes and tire rotations are for sissies! 😵💫😂
@@peter7582 The video title alone says it was dealership rejected. Either way, I’d have it inspected by an independent mechanic before I’d even consider it.
💯. It's AMAZING, how much more money you can get out of a vehicle from a. GOOD, detail job. I've been detailing vehicles since I was 13 years old. I'm 45 now. I've helped, hundreds of customers get thousands more for their vehicles. Detailing is truly. An art form.
I was just thinking that maybe this guy has a lot of people working for him to manage his RUclips channel and his E-Commerce but man he is handling it all by himself. Kudos 😊
It doesn't matter how many of these i see, or how many trashed homes I go into on the job, I'm always shocked at the level of filth some people create, tolerate and willingly live in. Nice work.
I've got a small farm & use my old Subaru Forester like a truck. Hay, maybe a few crumbs of feed, some dog slobber on rear windows, I've even found a goat pellet a time or two... But I keep extra rubber mats on the floor & detail it myself seasonally. That level of sticky grossness is disgusting.
The doors and cupholders were the worst and you made them shine like new. I'm so glad that I don't smoke in my car. I am a smoker and I'm working on quitting. Starting with not smoking in my car has helped me a great deal. Seeing this nastiness is solidifying my resolve. Thank you for your time and attention.
@@Reggae2703 I wish you the best and congrats on your first car! That's so exciting! I discovered that I'm a lot calmer driving without a cigarette in my hand and instead reaching for a bottled water also helps on those long trips or sitting in traffic. Putting in a nice relaxing scent is a lot better than smelling an ashtray. Cabin filters tend to go bad a lot faster when there's smoke in the car. Personally, I don't like changing them.
just for poops and grins, I clean the seatbelts, with the Pressure washer, just pull the seatbelts out as much as possible and close the door, then run the pressure washer over the length of the belt outside the car... :)
@@chasemixon6327 I like your idea! I've been detailing 34 years and always found seat belts one of the most difficult things to fix. I'll give the power washer a go....thanks.
One thing I wanted to mention, NOT calling you out, but all parts of the car that move or shift or pull, need to be moved, shifted, pulled and cleaned. I noticed the shifter knob wasnt moved, probably because its in park, but for the shifter I engage parking brakes and clean the small section that was hidden when the shifter was in park. Same goes for switches in the dash, levers, knobs, etc. I also attach a long crunchable straw to my vacuum tip and shove it down into the chair bracket holes in my attempt to pick up all the dirt & trash, that made its way under the flooring. Usually do this mostly in smokers car so as little remains behind that has trapped the smell of old cigarettes on it.
As a former smoker, ANY kind of spill, but especially something sticky like Coca-Cola will then become a magnet for cigarette ashes, and no matter how well the initial spill was cleaned, the carpet or upholstery will turn black in that spot. I never had any car that looked anything like this. OMG how can someone drive a car like that! While there was some evidence in my cars that they were smoked in, this looks like it was done daily with the windows closed, the A/C on recirc, and exclusively using the floor as an ashtray.
@@camerondavisslag yep, they say they’re not good for you now. I quit 12 years ago. When I was 13 (back in the 90s when everyone still smoked), my pediatrician told me to only smoke Camel Filters. That was his brand and he said they were the best on the market. I ran into him coming out of Walmart a few weeks ago. He’s got to be 70 now, and he seemed healthy but he pulled out a cigarette while we were talking and I noticed that he had switched to Kools.
@@camerondavisslagno offense but have you been living under a rock?? smoking is insanely bad for you and is literally the number one cause of lung cancer. genuine question, what makes you doubt that smoking is bad?
You should have seen the police cars I used to work on... THis one department ran on cigarettes and coffee. The radar guns were full of coffee sugar/cream hard crap like concrete, and the boss had a heart attack when I disassembled the radar guns and put all the parts and boards in the dish washer with some cleaner to dissolve the mess. Dried them out and put them back together and calibrated them. All worked good. I even repainted the cases. They thought it was new guns. Cig dust and sugar from drinks is a killer mix and makes an incredible mess.
Same here I have a 10 and 12 year old cars and both outside inside and under the hood look like they did out of the showroom i get people asking me out sell the cars all the time too
I used to have a 2004 Toyota Highlander, no bells or whistles, with a cassette player, no cd player. I absolutely LOVED it! When I got it in 2015 it had only been owned by the original purchaser and then me; it only had 10,000 miles by that point! Hard to believe. I drove a lot for my job back then so by the time I wasn’t able to drive anymore, the mileage had gone all the way up to ~200,000. Because I took such great care of it, plus the original owner doing the same, I was able to sell it for quite a fair price. I even surprisingly got more than I asked for because the buyer REALLY wanted it. I really miss that car, I even named her.
Funny, i had a clenched jaw, tense, trying to understand the mentality of someone who abuses an expensive piece of equiptment they own. With all that smoking, id imagine the owner wouldnt be able to clean the car. Chest pain comes to mind. Im so happy i quit smoking 20 years ago.
im the same way , but it pisses me off that people dont take pride in owning something. when grew up in the 80s it wasnt guaranteed you would own a car and that was a privilege. now its a throw away thing
I think a lot of people see these disaster detail videos and then don't realize they need to wear gloves or a respirator if they want to do something like this, so it's always good to see someone who is doing it, and who is also mentioning it.
I have a 2012 Ford Escape. We bought it when we had a 1 year old and then a year later I had another child. I thought being thru 2 babies was bad but my car is pristine compared to this one!!! Bravo to you sir! You brought that old gal back to life! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Coming from a long family history of chain smokers, this is a phenomenal Anti Smoking Video. Especially the seatbelt part, I remember buckling in and my hands felt grimy and sticky. This makes me tear up so much. Love the video. You put a lot of hard work and heart n soul into this detail. ❤
I was once given a car to detail that the owner had NEVER washed. It was 16 years old. I'd say the color was taupe with black bumpers. When I got done, it was white with blue bumpers. Did the whole thing by hand. Took a friend and I about 14 hours. The inside on the other hand, he had covered with plastic mats and those big paper clips. Brand new. Just some Armor All. Well done man. Frankly, I'd think the cost of your service is worth more than the vehicle.
I agree with your comment on the service being worth more then the car. I KNOW I have done more cleaning on a car than the cost of a car. I clean for pain reduction reasons. So if I get in a groove who knows what will happen, But That Interior will be Mint :)
@BeckySilver-qb6sj 16 years of dirt in the paint. Hand waxing. Clay bar. Cleaner wax. Pulling parts off. You must have never fully restored? I took that $300 POS, put a set of $700 wheels on it and traded it for an 84.5 Porsche 944, straight up. Put $2,000 into it. Sold it for $19,500. Did this constantly.
I’ve got a housekeeper with my own business for 45 years and I also detailed cars but I got to tell you you’re the best detailer that I’ve ever come across. Amazing!
I think after the work of removing the seats and center console, 98.652% of people would have replaced the carpet, it's crazy you got it so clean. A testament to your skill and products!
I'm not gonna lie dude; you gave me the confidence to tackle my disgusting engine bay (years up and down dirt roads). With your advice about low pressure water, undoing the battery, and not letting the degreaser sit for too long, it looks like it just came off the assembly line. Thanks for the satisfying but also super informative vids
I restored a car like this in the 70’s. The tar actually preserved some of the plastic and vinyl. Not that I would recommend that as it probably took 20 years off the pervious owner….
There's a channel called Just Rolled In, about auto mechanics' nightmares, and I am always horrified at the filthy car incidents. They occasionally even have to refuse to work on some vehicles because they are so hazardously foul. Here you actually CLEAN those kind of cars! Heroic efforts!
@@sweeptheleg. May detailers wouldn't clean such a mess, this is straight laziness the owner could at least remove the disgusting stuff that's not hard to remove. Detailer is to make your car look new and not to clean your dirty habits necessarily
As an ocd clean freak thats now become a Mom of boys forced to face reality, sh*t cant all be sparkling clean all the time, so i love watching this video to still get that satisfaction seeing something go from nasty dirty to so clean, lol, thank you...I feel the drill head scrubbers are seriously the most magical cleaning addition ive ever brought into my arsenal of cleaning supplies...ive even used them doing dishes a couple times lol,tho it is a little overboard for dishes. And they can be a little messy cus the dirty soap suds and water spins flying outward but still the drill head brushes are so awsome at cleaning old grime and tough stains on carpets like these. Saves not only your arms and back but time.
@@ourgoalielifeYeah! A car can be replaced, but your body would experience permanent damage by living like this. Probably quite bad for the family dog too. It's almost like they made their car into a coal mine, with the amount of dust and poor quality air constantly swirling around.
It's called Depression - onset by trauma that was so bad the body doesn't know how to process it. So the body smokes and trashes itself along with everything around it. When a person has trauma onset depression, they usually mask it so judgemental folks can pass their judgement elsewhere - in this case, a comment thread on a car.
How on earth could you afford to smoke that many packs? In Australia one pack of cigarettes is more than double the minimum hourly wage. So u would have to work 8 hours to pay for 3 packs
This cleaning talent that you have is an incredible blessing. Many people are not good at detail cleaning or even regular cleaning. It’s absolutely awesome to see unfold. God bless you and your loved ones.
I remember going for a job interview with my Brand New Chrysler 300 which I'd had for a couple of months and kept spick and span clean to the T ... on getting to the interview place, the office wasn't opened yet and a girl was also waiting to get interviewed. It started raining and I asked her to wait in my car, being a gentleman and all ... then she did the unthinkable ...she lit a cigarette and attempted to start smoking! ... and I almost lost it! haha ... I told her "we don't smoke in the car!" ... I don't have anyting against smokers, but I told her, "I don't care if it's shisha or e-cigarette or weed or whattever it is, WE DON'T SMOKE IN THE CAR!" ... this video just brought back all that memory lol
As an uber driver, youd be suprised. Some ppl just dont have any manners. But lighting up in my car, is equivalent to you trying to rob me@@melmentomori
You would have to pay me an exaggerated amount to clean that. If I were the dealer I would have parted the truck, then lit that thing on fire. You got skills bro. I’m impressed
The entire clean was great to watch, but I particularly enjoyed the door cleaning part. Just watching so much gunk and dirt wash off and reveal the original door underneath was so satisfying. Great job!
As someone who worked for 12 years in a 'quick clean' detail shop, seeing the work your steamer does is cathartic LOL, seeing the nastiest stains actually coming off of the dash and center console especially.
The arthritis eventually catches up to you after 40 years and a major accident. I speak from experience Keep the body in motion, even when you don't feel like it. 10 mins are better than 0 ✌️🙏
I know how you feel... I have chronic pain/fatigue, and I'm starting to get arthritis. Cleaning is becoming more difficult. But my car is a disaster, so I gotta do the bare minimum at least 😭 (fortunately it's nowhere near as gross as the vehicle in this video...)
The worst part of this detail was most likely the smell! In the late '80s I worked as a service advisor at a Buick dealership . One woman brought in a Buick Apollo( like a Chevy Nova) that she bought from the used car dept. I had to get in the driver's seat to get the speedometer #s and the smell of urine and nicotine was so bad I almost heaved. To make matters worse she stepped close into the driver's door area kind of trapping me in the car. I can truly say I think I know how bad that smell was in there. You definitely spent a lot of time disinfecting your tools, towels, shop and yourself !
In once got in such a car, from heavy smoker. I was birefly a passenger. This person asked me about a weird new smell she smels in that car, saying "I am very sensitive to chemical smells, I wonder were that comes from" but on my side I was having a really hard time trying to just breath in all that smoke smell, I was thinking "how is she even able to smell anything else ?"
Steam is the best disinfectant on the planet. No chemicals necessary. Also kills smells. But as far as the Smoke Smell in AC/Fabrics An Ozone Machine for a few hours with condenser running on Recirculate, will make it all smell brand new. How do I know? I did it on my car when I stopped smoking. This is how Remediation Companies remove smoke and odors from homes after fires and floods.
So much to choose from regarding the dirt, smoke and grime, but I would say the carpets, as they were atrocious! Phenomenal job as always! Worth every penny! Continued blessings...
I have extreme OCD for cleanliness and organization, and it brings me so much enjoyment and relaxation watching your videos. Keep up the good work and thank you!!
I have SPD and smells kill me but I also love the satisfaction of cleaning. Since I don't clean as much anymore (I employ a cleaner), I enjoy these videos because it means I get the dopamine of the cleaning without the sore back and having to be sensorilaly exhausted.
Great job on this van, you greatly increased its value-for me cleaning the seats and console were the greatest transformations. I wouldn’t have imagined it’s finished state.
I used to detail for a dealer several years ago. I worked on a lot of smoker’s vehicles. I used to wipe the windows down with a damp cloth just to remove the initial layer of smelly film before actually doing them properly. I loved the headliner cleaning - so satisfying!
The driver's door restoration was amazing. It was so stained and blackened, you actually make it have a blue hue to it again, under all that yellow black tar. Incredible.
Worked in a Ford dealership back in the early 90's and we had one customer that treated his F150's like that. He was an old farmer and bought a brand new truck every few years - kind of typical and farm trucks see rough service, but I never saw any vehicles come back in service as rough and filthy as his. He liked his Redman tobacco and would spit out the driver side window, yet made no effort to clear it. Outside and inside of the door would be covered with tobacco spit all they way to the bottom, and the handle pocket would have a pool of it. Every so often, we would have to disassemble the door and clean everything out because the mechanisms would bind. I was in the business for about a decade and never saw worse treated vehicles - He absolutely never washed them either. The irony was that when he bought them new, he would nit-pick every detail for fit, finish, and cleanliness like you would not believe. Six months later they'd come in for service trashed out beyond belief. We just shook our heads and figured - his money, his truck to do what he wants. Odd, but good customer who bought many new F150's from that dealership over many years.
In High School I worked as a lot man at a Used Car Dealer in Toronto and detailed a few cars. I also detailed a couple of my own cars but I would NEVER compare myself to you. You are not just a car detailer, you are an ARTIST. Well done, especially with such a light coloured vehicle.
Years ago i worked security with a guy who was a chain smoker and the inside of the guard house looked and smelled just like that car, I'll never forget that smell, as soon as i saw your video it immediately brought back those memories.
I had my vehicle detailed a year ago. It was nowhere near this shabby. I thought $250 for the service was expensive but now that I see the work and tools involved, I am happy with the cost and their result.
You sir are the detail whisperer! I can't believe how nasty that escape was! When I used to smoke I didn't smoke in any of my vehicles. Funny, I currently drive an Escape. Thank goodness mine has never gotten that disgusting. [I could practically smell that escape through the phone screen I watched the video on! YUK!
It’s mind blowing that a person would let their vehicle get to such filthy conditions. I can’t even imagine what the inside of their home looks like. The center console was beyond gut wrenching. Amazing job Mitch!
I'm a smoker and I don't smoke in my car or house. Just because it smells. My grand kids ride in the car and I don't want them to suffer for my bad habit. You do a wonderful job. Thanks for all that you do.
I was talking about this the other day with someone who smokes and they don't like smoking inside either. We were talking about how gross it is to think about how people used to smoke in restaurants now.
I smoke indoors everywhere I go. In my car and home and at the bars and restaurants. I clean very regularly and wipe the walls in the house. I also use an air purifier for the home.
@@jojorobino5312You are putting others at risk by smoking in bars and restaurants. There is a reason why it is banned. Do what you want with your own body but please don’t subject others to the smoke especially as some people have severe asthma
Good for you. I'm 75 years old and have COPD. I have never smoked in my life. My parents were heavy 3 pack a day smokers. My doctors said I probably got my COPD from their second hand smoke. Keep protecting those grandkids.
All the plastics transformations were massive for me in this video. It’s unbelievable how the car could finish this way. Well, there is nothing you cannot do honestly. Amazed as always.
My father was a smoker. My parents had a sunroom attached to their house and 3 walls were plastic panels. He used it as his smoking room the last few years of his life. When he passed away I went in and cleaned it out so my mom could use it. It was the same nasty brown dripping down as I sprayed it with cleaner.
When I did internet installs and service calls, there were houses where the walls, blinds, and furniture that were just yellow and brown, and the smell was so so strong. Everything was yellow and brown. And I smoked at the time, and even I thought the smell was so bad. Probably what helped me quit smoking lol. See enough houses like that, and it disgusts you.
even so i smoke when my kids aren't in my crew cab truck but i also buy whats called cleaning products because even as a smoker i want my vehicle clean like my home.
Turned out so much better than I could imagine. The million dollar question is how the interior smells 4-6 wks after this incredible detailing was done. It seems odors that become that embedded somehow find a way to creep back in:)
I did a cable trouble call at an apartment of two elderly chain smokers. The carpet was sticky with tar and an old monopoly board was glued to a table and all properties were a sickening shade of yellow. Bravo sir. Loved watching it, glad I'm not doing it.
My husband and I were both two-pack a day cigarette smokers and one day we just quit...cold turkey and I immediately had our carpets ripped out and our floors refinished and the curtains removed. Then it was time to repaint our walls. They were supposed to be an off white but they looked brown because of the years of smoking they were exposed to. Before they would be painted I wanted them cleaned because I didn't want someone to try to paint over all that nicotine. Some people came in and cleaned the walls and when they were through we saw that we didn't really need to repaint. All that nicotine came off the walls and they looked great. That has been twenty years ago but I still remember how great they looked after they were simply given a good cleaning! Seeing the interior of this car look renewed and all those terrible stains come out reminded me of my walls. Good job, Mitch! BTW, I think that cup holder was about the nastiest thing I have ever seen. ICK!
When my dad passed away, my mom decided to have the living room repainted. The entire living room took 2 coats of paint, except for the spot right above my dad's easy chair where he sat with a cigarette for years and years. After a good scrubbing, it still took 4 coats over that particular spot before it looked uniform.
How about the carpets? Had a friend that was kicked out of her apartment for cumulative damage from smoking. Up until then, I'd thought all the carpet in the apartment was supposed to be goldenrod and 'autumn' in the 'office' where she spent most of her time. When the furniture was cleaned out I realized it was all supposed to be one color: almond. I have another good friend that is about the same age as the first but she quit during her first pregnancy (her mother's passing at age 53 from smoking probably helped make that decision easier), and she is in good health 40+ years later. The first friend? Heart attack 5 months after she moved into a new place - she now rests with her parents.
The cleaners probably used something called 'sugar soap' (in the UK, might have other names elsewhere), a strong alkaline that dissolves organics instantly, which means pretty much anything you'll find on surfaces. Sold widely but surprisingly few people seem to know about it. Needs to be used sensibly - by definition it's caustic and you MUST wear rubber gloves and generally keep it off your skin (and out of your eyes, obviously).
The driver's side door was the most satisfying part for me. But this video was a kind of magic, one of the best in all of these 4 years for sure. Keep it coming!
Big WOW! Everyone who thinks that detailing is just more fancy car wash should watch this wideo. Apart from that, I can understand smoking addiction, but smoking in a car and getting it to such a state is unimaginable to me 🤯
I own this car, just 9 years older. When I got it, it looked similar to this. It was owned by a woman that did house cleaning and she spilled things all over the car. I've gotten most of it cleaned up nicely over the years but was never able to get the floors cleaned. Though I don't have the tools you have either. After watching this video I know what I need to do to make it look as close to new as possible. Thank you.
Former rod and custom shop owner here. Your work is worthy of the highest compliments. Kudos Grossest part...let me think. Probably the part between the beginning and the end. I had one or two like that...I felt your pain. lol
I like the parts of the video we don't see often: engine bay, seatbelt, and headliner. It's as if some people think you are the only detailer who cleans engine bays. I wonder if the cost of the detail came out of the salesman's commission. 😆
@@feminazislayer I wouldn't doubt it. I have wondered about some trade-ins. Some on the used lot reek of cigarettes and other things though they look clean.
@@feminazislayerI’m guessing he didn’t charge the dealer for this because it’s gotten over 2 mil views but if he had charged the dealer I wonder how much the difference in bids would be sold as it was vs sold clean. I’m guess a normal non RUclips detailer would charge at least $500-$700 for this. Dealer probably gave slightly above scrap prices for the trade in. Maybe $200?
I love that these kinds of videos serve as a resume for people that do manual labor jobs. You can move across the country and just point customers to your youtube channel!
This is incredible work you did for this vehicle. Oh wow! The crud in the rear cup holders looked the toughest to me. But you have satisfied my dopamine with the detailed work to get it all out, indeed. Amazing!
The Canadian's detailer: Mitch (also known as Detail Geek): Give this Ford Escape a thorough deep clean it never saw coming. Great job on the engine bay & interior.
@@TheDetailGeek 1) I've had a few cars like that over my 35 yrs as a mechanic mostly working for FORD. I had a late 70's mini LTD that was owned by an older railroad worker who brought it in for occasional service. It looked like he painted the car himself with a roller and house paint, worst part of working on it was the fact he had about 50 baseball sized wads of chewing tobacco spit out on the dash. WTF? Why was he saving them? 2) I've had cars with ashtrays overflowing and you could smell it before you ever opened the doors, I used to keep a gallon jug of odorban in my toolbox and would wet a shop rag and throw it into the car before I would drive it into the shop. 3) I had an Escort once that had so much McDonald's trash in the back area that it was flat from the front seat headrests all the way back to the hatchback, you couldn't see the rear seats at all. It was a trade-in and I was asked to diag a tap in the engine. I pulled the valve cover off and you couldn't see the valve train, it had so much sludge you could have painted it and nobody would have known it didn't have a valve cover on it, you could even read the stamped Ford logo the cover had on it before I took it off. It had about 250k miles and I don't think it ever had an oil change. 4) I think the worst smelling car was some 400lb sweat hog brought in for service, when you opened the door it smelled like a group of kids were partying in it and had a puking contest, out came the odorban again.
This is easily one of the best transformations I have ever seen. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence was definitely put center stage on this project! Well done.
I honestly can say you surprised me on this one! Thought the console was the nastiest. I am 65 and still detailing and continue to learn from your work. Great job!
As a retired mechanic I remember buying a car years ago and it was like a dump inside, maybe that's why I got it so cheap. I took all the seats and carpets out and steam cleaned it all outside, dried it out at work. Looked lovely when put back together
That's the way to do it, so much less hassle as well if you just take the time to take seats out at the very least, entire carpet out if possible. A little bit more work but the actual cleaning goes so much easier.
Seeing the steering wheel cleaned was awesome. Seeing as the dashboard (gauge cluster, steering wheel, climate and sound controls) are what the driver primarily see, I love it when you spend more time showing the cleaning of those areas.
May God Bless the dog that had to endure that mess. Animals are so sensitive to smells - I can't even imagine. How long did it take you to get the stink out of your garage? You brought back life to that vehicle It looks beautiful now. Fabulous job!
Dogs have a great sense of smell, but they don't appear to possess the concept of stinky. I'm sure this dog was just as thrilled as any other dog to be going for a car ride.
I am still surprised by how anyone could treat their car like this: basically a garbage can and ashtray that were never cleaned. I can't believe the amount of tar, ash and other crap that was stuck to the entire interior of this vehicle. Every part of this car was a miraculous cleaning transformation. Kudos to you for doing another outstanding job!
I usually play your videos while I'm cleaning or working and I glance over every so often to see the progress. I was GLUED to this one! It's like watching a train wreck, I can't look away! Actually, it's like watching a train wreck and then a super hero comes to put it back on the tracks then cleans it

i really enjoy your quick before and after images when you complete a section, it helps me appreciate in the moment just how much you’re truly cleaning 💯
You should see some of the trade in cars before they get to the wholesale auction. This one is barely dirty in comparison to others I've seen and he spent 17hrs on it.
You completely transformed that Ford Escape, it finally got the TLC that it deserves after 13 years of abuse. For the age it’s in pretty good shape, no visible rust or major body damage. That dealer should be thankful to have a professional like you nearby to get the big jobs done, that car will definitely sell now. Excellent job as always 💯👍.
@@TheDetailGeekhow much would you charge for that never have I ever seen so much filth just uggg can’t believe it came out so wonderful wow you rock but how do u know how much to charge for all that work yuck the smell alone couldn’t do it . Did the smell come out
Don't forget to change out the A/C cabin filter to get rid of odors in the A/C system. Also, a box of coffee grounds left in the cabin overnight should eliminate any remaining cigarette smells.
Coffee isn't the answer. As a detailer we have our own methods. First and foremost scrubbing down and shampooing and wiping every square inch of the car is the main thing. Then you want to use an odor eliminator spray or an odor bomb to break down remaining stenches.
Good to change the cabin airfilter but an enzyme smoke eater fogger spray or ozone machine is more appropriate. Otherwise you trade one smell for another stink.
It was a tossup between the seats and the carpets. The carpets actually made me gag! These videos are fascinating. I wanna bring you my car, but it doesn’t look anything like those it would you would probably say this is too clean for you even though to me it’s not. There’s nothing more I think rewarding than the before and after photos you show I know it’s a lot of hard work on your part but that’s really what makes these enjoyable.

There was never a chance I was going to start smoking, but this video has really made me confident about that decision.

Nicotine is an odorless chemical, so I highly doubt you were smelling it.
So much to choose from regarding the dirt, smoke and grime, but I would say the carpets, as they were atrocious! Phenomenal job as always! Worth every penny! Continued blessings...

I used to detail for a dealer several years ago. I worked on a lot of smoker’s vehicles. I used to wipe the windows down with a damp cloth just to remove the initial layer of smelly film before actually doing them properly. I loved the headliner cleaning - so satisfying!
I'm with you. I've been detailing for 50 years.
Thanks!

I can imagine that car giving you the biggest Thank You!
@Renville80 In our case, the carpets were already a deep burgundy color.
Mom had them replaced anyways.
@@riffgroovethey sell special paint to paint over nicotine/tar stains. Just like leak spots, normal paint doesn’t cover it.
That center console before and after is actually insane. I was doubtful on those carpets too, but man this one was just so good to see get fixed up
It's just road dirt. Mostly grease from cars and cigarettes dirt.
The carpets were incredibly disgusting. I wonder if you could further enhance them
The driver's side door was the most satisfying part for me. But this video was a kind of magic, one of the best in all of these 4 years for sure. Keep it coming!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was absolutely incredible. I was so impressed on how well you got the black spots out of the carpet. And the seats look incredible! WOW! ❤
Big WOW! Everyone who thinks that detailing is just more fancy car wash should watch this wideo. Apart from that, I can understand smoking addiction, but smoking in a car and getting it to such a state is unimaginable to me 🤯
getting the lungs to such a state is even more criminal
I own this car, just 9 years older. When I got it, it looked similar to this. It was owned by a woman that did house cleaning and she spilled things all over the car. I've gotten most of it cleaned up nicely over the years but was never able to get the floors cleaned. Though I don't have the tools you have either. After watching this video I know what I need to do to make it look as close to new as possible. Thank you.
That steam cleaner he's using is also way more affordable than I'd have assumed. Love that he has all that broken down in the description.
It's always these cars 😂 ik someone who's car is like this same exact one
Or really just throw them out. The carpet should not be soooo expensive and you'd have it fresh!
Former rod and custom shop owner here. Your work is worthy of the highest compliments. Kudos
Grossest part...let me think. Probably the part between the beginning and the end. I had one or two like that...I felt your pain. lol
I dunno what to say but being so satisfied watching everything being clean like this ❤❤❤ Bless you always healthy man!
I like the parts of the video we don't see often: engine bay, seatbelt, and headliner. It's as if some people think you are the only detailer who cleans engine bays. I wonder if the cost of the detail came out of the salesman's commission. 😆
My thing is seatbelts. These were beyond filthy. Now clean. Sweet!
Yeah that engine clean was impressive 👍🏾
That went straight to auction. No way a good dealer would sell that to someone confidently.
Yes but you still make peanuts. Working for yourself is the only way to go.
Always a joy to watch someone who’s good at their job.
This is incredible work you did for this vehicle. Oh wow! The crud in the rear cup holders looked the toughest to me. But you have satisfied my dopamine with the detailed work to get it all out, indeed. Amazing!
This is why your channel is great. You clean cars that are actually very dirty.
Yes! Thank you 😊
The Canadian's detailer: Mitch (also known as Detail Geek): Give this Ford Escape a thorough deep clean it never saw coming. Great job on the engine bay & interior.
Glad you liked it!
This is the best I have seen in a while. Not that your other work isn't great too. This may possibly be your best work!
Amazing the car didn't catch fire with those cigarettes butts
Detail magician 🎩
This is easily one of the best transformations I have ever seen. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence was definitely put center stage on this project! Well done.
Wow, thank you!
This was proper.
Watching the tar melt from the interior panels was very satisfying.
I've never seen a car as filthy as this one was. A veritable pig stye. Unbelievably talented restoration and recondition. This fellow is so gifted.
It doesn't even look like the same Escape from 30 minutes ago, YOU NEVER CEASE TO AMAZE ME. THIS IS WHY I CALL YOU THE DETAIL MAGICIAN
I would imagine replacing the cabin air filter is a must on this one.
Probably did need changing but the cabin air filter is filtering outside air coming into the cabin so probably not worse than average.
Wonderful job! I wondered if the vent tubing still stinks because of all the smoke over the years. How would you clean those?
Ozone machine
@@francosby8885 oh lawd, another level of stink
I honestly can say you surprised me on this one! Thought the console was the nastiest.
I am 65 and still detailing and continue to learn from your work. Great job!
As a retired mechanic I remember buying a car years ago and it was like a dump inside, maybe that's why I got it so cheap. I took all the seats and carpets out and steam cleaned it all outside, dried it out at work. Looked lovely when put back together
That must've been very satisfying to do.
God? Really.
@@ricksmith1382 Why would you have a problem with their post?
@@pH7screwtube Bet he wouldn't say it about the other r*ligion though.
Dogs have a great sense of smell, but they don't appear to possess the concept of stinky. I'm sure this dog was just as thrilled as any other dog to be going for a car ride.
@@SanchoPanza-wg5xf exactly. Dogs sniff poop all day every day. They couldn't care less lmfaoooo
OMg, hard to believe someone actually drove that car. God bless you for all you do. Amazing helping people. Your place in heaven is secure. ❤️
Actually, it's like watching a train wreck and then a super hero comes to put it back on the tracks then cleans it
Beyond belief 🙏
Holy Mother of God.
I did detailing in 90s and co owned a shop.
I don't ever remember an automobile that funky ever.
My hat 🤠 is off to you.
I bow to the master
You did an amazing job. I can’t imagine how many hours it took to complete. I would have said no way, just send it to a junk yard. You’re awesome.
i really enjoy your quick before and after images when you complete a section, it helps me appreciate in the moment just how much you’re truly cleaning 💯
I think this Escape will be a contender for a Detail Geek Award. Such a satisfying detail. For me, the nastiest part was those cup holders.
Dealership: "this car can't be cleaned" TDG: "hold my drink"
Funny!!!!
Feel like hold my squeegee is more appropriate. lol
that's a good one, right there!
My sister would get an asthma attack even opening the door. Crazy how dirty this one was.
@@BigHeadClanhow about “hold my drill brush” lol
Professionalism at its best. Top notch work😮
I can't imagine even taking this car into a dealership for trade-in! The entire car was unbeleivable! You did a fabulous job of detailing.
You should see some of the trade in cars before they get to the wholesale auction. This one is barely dirty in comparison to others I've seen and he spent 17hrs on it.
That Escape was beyond disgusting. Shocked how clean you got that thing. You are by far the most thorough detailer I’ve seen on RUclips. Great job!
@@kelseahamilton9160 Thank you! 😊
i bet it still smells like cigarettes no? vent treatments a must i can only imagine how gross the vent ducts are
You completely transformed that Ford Escape, it finally got the TLC that it deserves after 13 years of abuse. For the age it’s in pretty good shape, no visible rust or major body damage. That dealer should be thankful to have a professional like you nearby to get the big jobs done, that car will definitely sell now. Excellent job as always 💯👍.
Thank you! 😊
@@TheDetailGeekhow much would you charge for that never have I ever seen so much filth just uggg can’t believe it came out so wonderful wow you rock but how do u know how much to charge for all that work yuck the smell alone couldn’t do it . Did the smell come out
Dude, you are amazing. Cup holders, no contest, were the absolute GROSSEST. Again, you rock.👍🏻👊🏼
I was just gonna ask....but the SMELL!?
Good to change the cabin airfilter but an enzyme smoke eater fogger spray or ozone machine is more appropriate. Otherwise you trade one smell for another stink.
Vinegar is the ultimate smell killer. It basically neutralizes all smells.
This man really had me sit here for 33 minutes straight without a break…congrats. You now have a sub and daily watcher 😤
Haha, nice!
I have the utmost respect for you, giving cars a second chance, so much labour involved, so satisfying to see the end result 😊
Looks great but how about the engine.. have they everr changed the oil!
Thank you so much for making these videos
