Even if it wasn't entirely necessary, I feel as though, if you sprayed carpet dye on it could've boosted the price even slightly
Yes it would have 100%
I could have done a ton more but wanted to see what a quick detail would do for $$$
Idk what year honda that was but, buying honda carpets are about 160 dollars. It may have been better to just buy a new one in this case. It was a good video. Tho
@@jeffrankin9744 then what’s the point of the video if he just buys new carpet.
@Connor Lemmerman I get your point. But I see the work as a point of diminishing returns. The video was good, but if you were doing some car equally as bad it might be cheaper than 5 hrs of work
@@StaufferGarage are you able to change breaks, oil, and oil filter(maybe an air filter as well)? The bare basics might get you a good little chunk more in profit for very little added investment and very little extra effort(bating stuck tires, aluminum tims can be a bitch to get off sometimes lol) especially if you film proof of you doing the work. Could revenue polish dull headlights using your still and a polishing kit. The extra cost would maybe be about 250-350 bucks factoring in the polishing kit on top of the oil, breaks, and filter.
Great work 👍. The interior was absolutely disgusting. I don't know how people can do that to their cars. You put a lot of time and effort into getting it clean
If they have their car like that imagine how they have their house!!! 🤢🤮
I can’t imagine how garbage accumulate that much.
@@Lacheyenona72 bien marrana ewwww nasty
Wow, what a transformation! Hard to believe people keep their car like that. Even older cars deserve better. And I believe the carpets are old school quality (thick), aren't they?
Yep! Cleaned up better than I thought and the nassty smell is gone. Would have replaced but cost wise and time to flip quick restricted that
If this is how they keep their cars, one can only imagine what kind of a *’GARBAGE DUMP’* their houses would be!
Dude people are just gross. My 01 corolla had a well kept interior and decent paint
@@harshabiliangady3211 I've lived with atleast 12 bachelors in shared apartments during my 5 years in University and oh boi, I seriously pity these men who never grew up from being boys. They just straight up gross man. I took a fresh breath once I finally got my studio.
some of my past cars were like that, i was on the road 2hrs a day going to and from work and driving one of my friends around constantly, was always tired from work so basically i lived out of my car and was too tired to clean, the passenger side floor became a trash can with soda bottles and gas station food wrappers.
now that im not driving as much i keep my car cleaner, sure it may get messy when im on a road trip but i usually clean it right after.
Never gonna understand why people let the cars like this "oh, some fries fell out, nothing happened "
What you showed in the video is true workmanship. Absolutely great work.
I'm a mechanic who also paints and restores cars, since i know everything i need about cleaning and stripping car interiors, one thing i never understood about professional detailers is why after so much work they don't remove the carpet and they insist on cleaning what i would have lit up in flames, the labor involved wouldn't be cheaper than a carpet pulled from the scrapyard that can be as low as 20$ and wouldn't look better than one either after the customer pays hundreds for an interior detailing. I've made many times the proposal of swapping a carpet for cheap and getting new insulation pads but never a detailer who gets a high price to clean something that needs to go. Another time there was a steering rack seal leak under the dash and after this extensive cleaning the car had a bold oil scent after citronella faded away, turned out when i pulled the carpet it had the insulation pads soaked into a huge oil pool. I've seen many cars shining and smelling fresh after an expensive detail to the extend of removing seats, etc and if you pull the door sill trim you'll find damp insulation pads, mold growing from underneath or behind the door panels, and a whole bucket of dust and debris that eventually starts coming out.
I don't talk specifically for the video poster where this car is his and wanted to flip it, but i see people run a business where swapping things for cheap would be more profitable and less labor intensive than getting money to deliver a hidden swamp with lemon cologne to whoever pays the price.
Just depends on the car i feel like
@@g35s Yes but i believe it should not be done professionally when giving the customer the feel that the car would be totally clean afterwards, they can give the option to remove the carpet for extra cost but most i've seen they just do this without mentioning anything.
In the matter of fact i did not remove the carpet on my father's car and i have uploaded a video on my main channel "John's Crafting Lab" detailing it, because it's a car that moves workers and construction materials everyday which i wanted to look better for a few days, but if i was paid for this service i would do the complete tear down of the interior even if i would give it as an option for extra cost, most the detailers i know do not remove any panel or the carpet and some do, but all of them mention a "deep clean" and do not describe what they will do.
New one can be $$159 to $220. For a non luxury car.
@@dennisrobinson8008 except the cars i worked on, got one for mine mint condition used from a newer model aswell, changed the color to black for a total 60$, much cheaper than if i or someone was trying to remove 2 quarts of oil stains and smell that eventually leaked in from the steering rack, because after intensive cleansing with degreasers and pressure washing that i would have charged over 100$ to a customer, the oil was still soaked into the plastic undercoating of the carpet and made the car smell in the summer. Mold and humidity is much worse especially if you don't remove the carpet to clean it and burn the insulation in a bonfire and install new one.
@@johnbelwell2461 did you use spray cans to turn color to black or a paint gun? How many spray cans and or how much paint required?
Used to have a Honda like this and man, memories coming to my head again, we got one new and then now looking back, it was a good daily. Sold it for $500 to my neighbor 😞
Hahhaa I miss my 97 ek hatch. That era was my favorite
Damn i miss my 99 civic lx auto.. that 1.6L 4door shitbox was the most fun i had in a car.. always blasting redline, always throwing it around on any road, hell even offroading... it took so many beatings for a whole year.. only to die by a spun bearing after the oil pump failed.. damn i miss it every day. When i get a house with a bigger driveway/garage for sure i'll get another ek and put it in top notch condition with some spicy mods.. cheers
I’ve had civics and accords all the way from 1993 to 2002 and this might not be most popular opinion but my 2002 accord coupe v6 black all leather multi disc CD player fast good on gas still my favorite old school Honda to this day
Cool vid. The car gets a new life. Good thing that the interior, dash and all the buttons were still in tact.
just bought starter pack, excited to see how this product works!
You are going to love the apc and brushes… and the towels! Thanks
Try white vinegar for stains. It’s a great natural product that can work wonder when mixed with other cleaning chemicals
Had a buddy put an open bag of sunflower seeds on the dash of my 99 Tacoma. Seeds fell through the vents and every time I turned the heater or AC on I could hear them dancing around inside. Took 3 years for them to all eventually find their way out onto the floorboard. Just a random thought this vid made me remember.😅
Manufacturers need to bring back real carpet in cars! That looks so much more appealing than what they put in now.
You did an amazing job but I think you should invest into a steamer. Based on other detailing videos, a steamer can take your work to another level
Love all the "experts" in the comments who know how to flip cars better than this guy ...
When it's dirty to this point, would it not be easier to just replace the floor carpet all together? The floor carpet is $160 ordered online. The economy of time is substantial.
Good job , you removed 300 miles of dirt from this car , nice result .
I've had very good luck using Simple Green to dissolve grease in carpets
The funny part of my life is that I earn a lot of money, but I love detailing and do it as a hobby for friends and others. It gives me a lot of satisfaction. I also love watching it...
this is the first car I drove. so cool to see it being clean
you should do more flip cars like this.
I agree, it was fun!
I can imagine how their house will look if they can't keep a car clean. Good job
Was the carpet not cleaned outside the car at the Customer's option?
6-7 years ago I've flipped about 20 cars only with a little bit of work (oil change, detaling, brake, tires,...) maybe I start do it again, in Switzerland we don't have a limit of purchase pro year 😉
Lucky! You should!
It's been a while since you bought the car to flip it. Great video
Yeah thanks! Plan to do more since it seems like everyone is enjoying them
Cleanliness is important especially in ones car....
I would say a small dust pan with a brush would help more on the big stuff rather than picking them one by one. 😂
That carpet looks so plush. You can tell right away it's going to clean up nicely! How long did the entire interior take to clean not counting drying time? Trying to gauge my efficiency in my details.
I heard 5 hours at the end. Wow. That's a LOT faster than I could have done that. I need to up my efficiency!!
Welcome back, missed my weekly dose of stauf 🙏👍
Class work as always 👌😎
Heck yes! Thanks for tuning in this week! Like the flips? Want to see more?
I would have cleaned the seats and replaced the carpet.
Amazing!
Amazes me people who try to sell a car on web and never even clean it at all. Would sell a whole lot better if they just clean dash and vacuum
Could you eventually paint the carpet not entirely but like small coats of paint to make it even better?
Yes you could 100%
Amazing job! Would it have been easier to take the carpet out and clean it outside the car?
Sorry if I got this wrong. You said you cleaned that whole interior in just 5 hours? That seems incredibly fast
it would take me 5 hours just to get all the cleaning tools
It's not a huge car .
5 / 6 hours is about right , without demontage of the interior.
Just the cleaning part .
Bravo 😮
Why not take the carpet completely out the car and do a super clean on it? I see alot of detailer remove seats and center consoles, you might as well go ahead and take the carpet out so you can blast it with a pressure washer!
great job!
what do you use for a shop vac? looks like whatever you have does a nice job
Where's the best place to get cars to flip? Facebook Marketplace? Auctions? Government Deals? Classified ads in local newspaper?
Good morning from Flagstaff, Arizona
Morning Michael!
Only because it's a Honda, I WATCHED. Make & model, matters. FACT 💯😮
Thank you brother but am from Bangladesh... ❤️ Love and respect
hi there great job as usual, but what intrigues me why didn't you remove the carpet if you had already removed all the seats and centre console?
I will never understand how people let their cars get like this! You know the used car market is upside down if someone can actually get money for this rancid car dumpster. They would have had to pay me to dispose of it for them. Out of curiosity, how much would you charge for a deep clean detail on a car this bad?
88 degreaser from Wlmrt for. Pre-treatment will knock out a lot of the bulk oils and soil
Pro Tips: With carpet that nasty, pull it. That filth has gone through to the padding and the odor will come back. You also found mold in the car, another reason to pull carpet. Second, you are introducing way too much moisture around the radio and electronics. Before you start with the "I've done this X 100s of times....." stuff, that doesn't make it right, it means you've been lucky. You're going to to that to the wrong Aston Martin and wind up buying someone a new $3500 head.unit.
Great work nice, loved your content and subscribed just now.....
Where do you get these deals from??
It was so satisfying seeing you detail the car and clean every ounce of those dirt stains using that steam sucker.
Love the channel
Nice work... for beginners that likes to start a detailing business what equipments do i need to purchase.
Great job! Isn t it easier if you take off the hole carpet and clean it with a power washer?
Good stuff 🔥
“Deal, let me pick up some of this trash first.” - seller
“No, put more in it. I’m making a RUclips video”- buyer
Awesome video. How did you get hot water to spray out while wet vacuumming?
amazing job bro bravo
I dont get how somone can have that little pride for their vehicle that they're willing to sell it in that state. Crazy.
As an ex car salesman, it beggars belief how people don’t realise how much money they lose by not cleaning their car before trading 🙄
I took my car carpet out and pressure washed it. Saved me a lot of time.
Yep coming and going. It's a good thing that vacuum wasn't solar-powered because then you'd have to sell a whole bunch of those to pay for the electricity.
I should do some asmr cleaning videos of my rentals: before and after.
People have the capacity to be utterly dirty to the point it becomes a biohazard and 1 has to suit up to be in the same space.
2.5k even with all the damages outside? crazy.
I bought my 2004 civic with 160 tkm (around 100k miles) 1.6 vtec and manual, no rust, issues and fairly clean for just 2000e
Actually surprised ya didn't use the steamer on it....turned out pretty good
How many hours does it take, typically, for you to do a detail on a car this bad?
5-6 hours
It's amazing how many people in the comments have all the answers. Yet, you're the one with the channel and the flip profit
My 2000 ford explorer would be a perfect car for you too detail. I got it for free an it hasn't been cleaned in at least 6 years
Are you in Columbus Ohio or close?
@@StaufferGarage I'm about 5 hours away in PA
What’s the equipment you’re using to spray down the carpets? Just a pressure washer with soap or is it something specific to car detailing
What type of vacuum do you use for the carpet cleaning?
Hey brother can you exactly tell me the name of the tool you used to suck up all the grime and cleaning mixture. I know it's a vacuum cleaner type machine but there is steam coming out of it. So please the name of this machine
Well done!
You done a fantastic job onb this, you should give yourself a pat on the back...
Awesome work! Honestly, I'm too lazy to do what you do! But, then again. I have a lot of money.
Yislyk. U inspire me❤
At 12:00 there’s a good shot of it
What year model is this civic? I know it ran from 01-05 and that body styles basically indestructible.
I work 40 hours plus at my full time job taking care of the physically and mentally disabled as well as I detail in the side. I have a 2013 dodge dart in red and a 2012 dodge journey as well as a 1998 jeep grand cherokee with the 5.9 I'll be picking up a 5.2l 1993 dodge dakota in the next couple weeks and I'm excited to get it as clean as I can. Got any tips how to remove scratches from vehicles. I've always been to nervous to polish buff and wax.
Nice work! but how long did it take to clean everything up? You said 5 hours, but it feels much longer
I’ve owned two of these gen civics
Trust me, this car ain’t worth $1000, $500 at best, these cars are known for leaking head gaskets and overheating, happened on both of mine
I totaled the first one and the second one I sold at Carmax for $2000 with like 200k miles lol
$1000 for any car that reliably starts and drives is a great deal. So whoever says that you paid to much to start has obviously never bought or sold a single car in there life. And especially it being a honda civic. They have one of the best resell values of all cars. And everyone likes civics. Even 2500 is a good deal
Anyone who thinks the car really was that dirty prolly believes in santa too😂
I'm curious to know what kind of steam cleaner you use.
The Civic in the photo looks quite bashed up so surprised you were able to sell it without doing something to the exterior. Correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks!
Great transformation. Tip thats why you don't sign the title you have the next buyer sign it
You get it 🤫
Could you link the drill you’re using with the drill brush? Please!
I'm glad I freak tf out when I drop anything in my car . deep clean twice a year . super clean inside and out and super clean the engine bay once a year after winter. constantly replace parts I'm not happy with if I feel a performance issue I'll change a part just because it doesn't feel right to me . I even smoke in my car but my car never smells like it I clean it that often
i have a 2022 crosstrek 6 speed manual. i really like my car and i hope it doesnt end up looking like this. im going to see if you have a video of the tools you use. i do own a carpet extractor, a fairly good one for a residential unit.
Nice job
Carpet dye also helps for stains that don't come out like chemical stains or bleach stains which I have seen in cars.
How do you test drive the cars you guy? Question for from people who would like to do this as a side hustle.
What happened to that red VW flip a few years ago?
What brand of extractor do you use?
Do you disconnect the battery to detail?
People how treat there cars like that don't deserve to own one,,,in my opinion 🤔
I am impress!!!
What kind of vacuum do you use ?
I’m so confused as how it got to that point. Did they try to trash it, or was it just a rowdy family?
Wow nice
i refuse to believe someone sold a car looking like this
If your friend has their car like this, roast them. Can’t imagine living like that.
What did previous owner use it as? Trashcan??
What is the shampoo vacuum tool that you used?
