I would think the auction price might have been a few thousand for this car. It sure cleaned up nice, but there was still some damage from years of abuse that even an expert detail won't fix. The seat, the roughed up plastic. But they will sure get a good price now.

I don't think he showed it, but the rear passenger panel had tack oil on it from roadwork. When I worked for the DOT, we used diesel fuel to remove it from the head engineer's truck as well as our boots. Years later I found a substitute product called Citrol that does just as good, maybe better, and smells a lot better, like oranges.
I use Citrol all the time, can't recommend it enough. From Sharpie permanent marker, to sticker adhesives & tar; It's the safest yet most effective I've ever found

Don’t beat yourself up over this, Mitch. The car turned out fantastic! I’ve driven a Taurus and I know how hard it is to keep them clean because of low quality material
First time seeing a Taurus wagon kinda cool and The carpeted wheel liners that Ford uses are an option you can add, although it can be hard to clean it really helps in places like the salt block can be nice for extra underbody protection overall.
The pink goopy stuff most definitely is dried up slime! My daughter noticed what it was as soon as she seen it lol.. She loves watching your vids with me!!! Keep up the good work brotha 🖤✊🏾🤙🏾
Lol. My daughter came back from shopping one day and swore she bought a package of individually wrapped cheese slices, but it wasn't in any of the shopping bags. I found it under the front passenger seat about 2 summers later. It looked and smelled like it had just been purchased. Now that is truly scary. Opening any of the doors in her van is a challenge. An empty water bottle, a random toy, someone's homework, fries, empty Wawa coffee cups, one never knows what will fall out. I am glad she doesn't smoke. This channel is inspiring me to take better care of my car.
I used to love power washing out hatches that were full of dirt like that. I don’t know why, but having done this kind of work for many years I really enjoy watching these videos. I guess they “take me back”.
For vacuuming carpets, I've seen a random orbital tool, or anything that vibrates intensely, being used to loosen dirt and dust on a carpet with a vacuum neaby and making it super easy to vacuum up. Would love to see you prove it works!
I cannot believe how well you transform cars! I am also not able to believe how little people care about their vehicles. They have two alloys, a steel wheel and then driving on the spare. The spare looks like it has been driven on far too long.
That looks like my niece and nephew mother's truck. I never thought I would see another one like her. What an amazing job.. and she needs you to clean her SUV 😂❤️
This takes me back to Night Ride which aired on Global TV in Canada. There were only four one hour episodes made, but it became very popular. The jazz music that played was so good and the places they went in Toronto were fun to watch.
idk I think the carpet looked SO MUCH BETTER after you extracted it. I think wanting it to be perfect is impossible, especially with such a well used car and well used carpet. I think it looks INFINITELY better and probably feels infinitely better. good job, man!

Excellent work as always, Mitch. 👍🏻👍🏻
I just watched the video with my 12 yo daughter. She said she would not ride in it knowing how dirty it was before the detailing. I would not buy it, it's just too worn down. I wish I could ship our vehicle over to Canada to have it cleaned by you ;-) We love your videos, keep up the fantastic work.

@@melinda-elisatatar4253 Actually there is no glue on factory carpets. They are formed to the floor very precisely, which help a lot. But also the seats, center consoles, and rocker panel plastics hold it in place very well. It is usually quite a bit of work to get the carpets in and out, even with the seats already out.
I whole-heartedly agree, though I call it a 'near-restoration' at that point. When I get a used car (from owner) for myself, I end up taking half/or all the carpets out in a partial gutting & clean. I even take the inner door-panels off, to wash out the drizzle spills from cup-holders in the deep-dive for my car(s). Though I've found that a pressure washer often isn't needed; A hose left sitting in the sun for warm water spray rinsing, Dawn dish soap & ammonia mix in a pump sprayer for detergent, and a hand brush of your choice: Does wonders for everything short of moldy seat-belts.... And for that, a soak in oxy-clean overnight removes the last splotches completely
An option for detailers who don't want to use a pressure washer to get the muddy hatch jamb clean is to use a Tornador. It isn't as powerful as a pressure washer but it is more precise. Home detailers need a decent size air compressor to run one but I work at a dealership so it has plenty of power.
