When he played Steve Brule, even he admitted that his character was just an exaggerated version of himself, that's just how involved certain actors become when they develop their characters, they try to pour as much of themselves as they can into them.

You can praise Odenkirk without putting down Evans or Rudd. Either way, neither are “marvel one trick ponies” because they’ve delivered solid and varied performances before and after those films, Rudd especially.

Kush Patel I do prefer Odenkirk as an actor, but again, we don’t need to shit talk other actors to illustrate that point. Especially when those men have done good work outside of Marvel that show range. There’s room to enjoy all of them in different ways and that’s okay :)

He also wrote in his recent memoir that he dislikes having to memorize a standup routine and then repeat it over and over. He admitted in his book that sketches are his true love and comic strength. He did add later in the book that he wasn’t too sure on dramatic acting in a big budget show, but he says Bryan Cranston helped him get into character a lot easier, and that wearing Saul’s outrageous suits immersed him in the role.

He ain't Saul, but the role has earned him more accolades and influence than anything before it.
