The fact that he never won an Emmy for his portrayal of Saul Goodman is the biggest snub in the history of an award. Such a talented actor.
Same with rhea seahorn she killed it as kim👏
Agreed, although I will say he had fierce competition every time. Rami Malek in Mr. Robot being one example
He still could this year. Last year’s awards were for the first half of season six
@@junglegrawlix i know its a last chance, but we all know, this is just a massive cope.
For whatever, surely money-related reason, they never aknowledged BCS as Emmy-worthy, so why should that now, when all the hype has gone cold, will go any different.
He is briliant
It's about time WIRED called saul

True story. My husband are huge BB/BCS fans. He was diagnosed with early stage cancer last year and had to have chemo. He now has to have scans every 3 months and so far his scans look good and he always texts me the message “Saul Goodman.”
Thats so sweet. Hopefully everything will be alright.
You might want to keep a lookout for his secret activities...
Jokes aside, I wish him a good recovery!
Is he an exceptionally good chemist too per chance?
maybe your husband and i could partner up
kidding aside praying for speed recovery💗
You are both troopers, stay strong!
Thats actually insane how they invented mikes character, we got one of the best actors and characters in the whole breaking bad/bcs universe thanks to Bob.
For sure. It’s crazy because Banks was a total day player before that, dropping in for an episode or two on various shows but never getting a solid role. His appearance as the “cleaner” in Season 2 of BB was going to follow that trend but they called him back to return for season 3 since he crushed it. Wonderful actor, awesome dude. I love it when under utilized actors get to shine.
Imagine BCS without Mike! Wow! Odenkirk is all class.
Good character, but I didnt care for mike at all
@@NateS917 so is he good or not?

8:40- “Did Bob Odenkirk audition for Michael Scott? Yes. But I didn’t get the part.” Instead he played possibly the greatest fictional Lawyer of all time.
there was also an office episode with him where he is basically Michael Scott too
Not possibly, DID play the greatest fictional lawyer of all time
Jackie Chiles might have something to say about this
I like Phoenix Wright more, but Saul still takes the top spot.
Fate had other plans for him, so it all worked out in the end for both him and Steve Carrel
I was so moved by how Bob answered the "How is Bob Odenkirk" question. He seems like such a genuine, down to earth guy.🥺 I only wish the best for him❤
Yeah I fuckin love this guy I could listen to him talking forever...
Other person would just say “wonderful thank you”
or he keeps playing that part very well, maybe he enjoys it
this guy is deep underneath that well built surface of comforting familiarity
He's nobody...

Lol I live like 20 miles Naperville I’m gonna call Saul 🤣

Imagine a world where Odenkirk plays Michael Scott and Carell plays Saul Goodman
Bruh Carell as Saul Goodman is so interesting, I bet he would kill it honestly.
Honestly? They both could’ve pulled off the others role.
@@jonnil1997 Carell is the only other person i think that could pull off Saul
Really refreshing, inspiring even, to see a guy of his caliber be so honest about his own failures.
on his Hot Ones he talked about embracing failures, and for a show about even hotter wings, it was so moving !
“I’m a terrible singer and I love making people listen to my singing” is a fantastic quote
That's perfect because of the Ronnie Dobbs skit on Mr. Show where Ronnie Dobbs is telling Bob's character about how he keeps missing the quarter note.

So nice to see Saul portraying Bob Odenkirk
This was so great. He seems to be really enjoying himself answering these questions. And a very humble guy. Been following his career for decades. What a gem.

You can see he loves what he does, and he's such a humble and honest person too, Bob Odenkirk is a national treasure
he's performance as Saul was awesome.
Correction: It’s perfect
What? They made Mike up? This is... crazy. Mike is like the shining star of the entire BB/BCS universe. I cannot think of any replacement to either the actor nor the character itself. Mike is pure gold! Especially in BCS and especially with him nearly tearing up while speaking to Stacy with the "THIS IS BETWEEN ME AND MY SON". Without Mike this show wouldn't be at the same level as it is.
I love his honesty about past failures and missed opportunities. Most "celebrities" you get the impression they literally never had a bad day in their lives.
Its also really telling that he talks about how he was a minor part of something big at SNL without trying to spin it in to some kind of LinkedIn massacre of modesty.
Huge respect. He deserves his success. Him and Jonathan Banks killed it in BTL. They both deserved Emmy's. Jonathan in "Five-O" deserved an Emmy for that episode alone.
Bob Odenkirk is the BEST.
This is a crazy coincidence today because I randomly watched Wayne's World 2 yesterday and my brain melted when I recognized a young Bob Odenkirk playing a dork in the concert backstage scene.
i love how he still avoids spoiling breaking bad for the people who didnt watch it yet
3:13- “Vince Gilligan is the smartest guy in the room. But he pretends not to be.” Therefore truly making him the smartest man in the room.

It really kills me that Odenkirk's performance as Saul didn't get an Academy Award or an Emmy!!
It would be impossible for him to get an academy award for playing Saul.
Would have been pretty crazy to see him get an Oscar for a TV show
He’s so nice, humble, and down to earth but he still has that comedian edge. ❤️

How did he not win an Emmy for Better Call Saul?
Because better call saul is not AAAALL of that.
@@luizhenriquebeniciodantas Had to be a brazilian huh. It is, and much more. It does a lot of things better than Breaking Bad.

My favourite scene of all time was when that one guy told him "Hey, you're Better Call Saul!” and then they all started Better Call Saulin on the bus.

Wow, did not know the story about Jonathan Banks being brought in last minute. Can't imagine BB and BCS without Mike.
Mike was definitely one of the best characters on both shows. Jonathan Banks made Mike a legend
I'm a cinephile and my love of films started when I was 12. I remember it clearly, in my small town you did what everyone did, ate what everyone ate, listened to the music everyone listened to, and watched only the movies being hyped at any given moment. But, one day when I was 12, I spotted a DVD on the shelf of our local movie rental place.
It had box-art similar to a New Yorker cartoon and this interesting font that was like the neurotic offspring of papyrus and comic sans, as well as a stupidly simple title: Melvin Goes to Dinner. It was mesmorizing, I knew I needed to rent it. The film followed a bunch of friends having a fancy dinner together and the dissolution of a relationship.
That was the first independent film I ever saw and started my life of independent films. Fast forward almost 2 decades. My favourite TV show, Better Call Saul is just about to stick the landing with it's third-to-last episode and something makes me think of Melvin goes to Dinner. I look up the film on iMDB and it turns out it was directed by Bob Odenkirk.
That is so cute!
Bob is such an amazing actor. I really hope ''NOBODY'' movie gets a sequel!! it was fireee
I love Bob Odenkirk! Thanks for having him on
This may or may not be an uncommon opinion, but I don't think Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul would be as amazing as it was without Mike. To think such an important character in both shows was "invented" is an amazing thing to think about.
Bob seems so wholesome, his presence would make a room smile

Maybe because I find him so funny, I'm not sure, but I secretly (or not so much now) find Bob Odenkirk so attractive. He's so charismatic 🥰

It's insane how this guy looks literally just like Saul Goodman. They made a great choice of hiring him!

He is so humble. That's what I like about him
He was fantastic as Saul Goodman in Breaking Bad, but his performance as Jimmy McGill slowly transforming into Saul Goodman in Better Call Saul was so amazing that I will watch any movie or show he’s in. Generational performance, it’s the Television Academy’s loss to never honor him with an Emmy.
Are you telling me that bob just happens to be on this video like that? No, he orchestrated!!! Jimmy!!!
Bob Odenkirk is so genuine
Bob is about as genuine as it gets. It is sort ironic his main role was Saul a sleezy lawyer or Jimmy who was as often not genuine or put on a fake face. I love Bob. He is great.
My first introduction to Bob Odenkirk was The Ben Stiller Show in 1992 and I've been a fan ever since. It's great to see him get recognition and well-earned success. He seems to be an endearingly humble guy and genuinely great person.
He's so humble and genuine, I love this guy
This was the best thing I’ve seen all week. Great down to earth guy! Great experience and perspective.
Absolutely loved him as Saul Goodman!!
He's so articulate
No one in comments is talking about the memory this guy has. Mans remembers every tiny detail about everything on the fly. Nice mental discipline there
Seems like a really nice and genuine guy. I like how he has nothing but nice things to say about the people he works with and in the industry.
As someone who only started (and finished) Breaking Bad late last year, it’s really strange to see him with grey hair.
in better call saul I believe he’s playing a character 13 years younger than he is
