I think I ended up liking this show more than Breaking Bad which was surprising.
I feel a similar way, although short of rewatching the entirety of BB I can’t fully articulate why I do and what the difference between them is. What do you think?
@@superclarendon8648 I think fundamentally Jimmy is more likable than Walt, which helps. Also the cinematography and "show, don't tell" storytelling was raised up a notch. For me also, it ended up being a tragic love story. Kim/Jimmy is just so interesting and flawed and toxic but also lovely. They're both psychologically rich texts!
I think it’s just the experience of Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould being even richer after Breaking Bad. After the already amazing show ended, they had a bunch of new experiences and a pretty much clean slate to put their extensive knowledge of filmmaking to good use. The cinematography and visual storytelling have gotten even better than they were prior. The new cast of characters bickered and fought less than Walt and Jesse, making them more likable, and Jimmy’s quippy nature kept every scene energetic and alive
@@superclarendon8648 I think it was more enjoyable because we knew Jimmy couldn't die, right? We knew he had a guaranteed exit at least until the last 4 episodes where we realize he could be in danger of losing his life.
So it's an easier watch tension wise therefore more laid-back and enjoyable UNTIL the show completely captures tension in a bottle with Lalo, who's so damn good in this (Tony Dalton) you actually question briefly if he will kill Saul at times even though we know he can't.
But we do have some expendable characters we never see in BB. So now we're invested into knowing what happens to Kim, Chuck, Nacho, Howard? Even Lalo? He's mentioned in BB but never seen. This show thrived off the familiarity of Saul, Mike, Gus, Hector, Tuco, Hank and Steve ect We got great characters back to round out their stories but got more great yet expendable characters to keep the tension on the show. In other words we got exactly what we wanted in El Camino but didn't get. More Breaking Bad. It also shows the writers have so much confidence from having a hit show in Breaking Bad that they know they're capable of just making the Universe that much richer and fleshed out.
@@TheDemonicPenguinI literally just rewatched all of BCS and BB and I feel the same way I think I enjoy it more just because the characters relationships feel like they hold so much more weight because we knew a lot of the cast couldn’t die so it’s kinda enjoy the journey even if you know the destination.
Listening to Odenkirk even in this table read feels like the real movie
It's a show; not a movie. But I agree.
I thought the exact same thing. All Odenkirks lines have emotion.
And the actor who plays Howard too, when the two were speaking, I was transported to the scene haha@@SpaceballsRVA
@@SpaceballsRVA i know this is 3 months late but since you were pedantic I can't not be. if the pictures move it's a movie.
@@meechthelittle I don't think I was being pedantic. It's a pretty big difference. The actors put a lot more work into this with it being a 6 season show versus a 2 hour movie. I think we at least owe them that credit. Heh.
I didn't feel like Gene was dead-eyed when he was watching the Better Call Saul commercials. I thought I saw a profound sadness in Bob's/Gene's eyes and it was perfectly played
You follow the script not the scene especially when it is the very first episode and the writer has a better idea about the character than the actor
that could be one of the things that changes from script to set
@@brianwhit1646 true
thats because actor showing no emotions. its old trick, when you show no emotions audience fiil up their emotions to the scene. in this scene you think saul needs to be depressed, so you see what you think.
Peter Gould as Chuck is oddly entertaining
Yeah. He’s actually pretty good!
Very interesting that Howard's line at 30:01 about 'listening to your heart' gets quite a big laugh from the cast and crew.. but by the end of the series it proves to be prophetic, and said with much more sincerity than we knew.
damn
The lack of awards for this serie is a SCANDAL!!!! 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
Better call Saul....
@@tA_aT287 ha ha...ha...
Chicanery!
Fun fact: the show to receive the most emmy nominations without winning any is Better Call Saul
Love hearing tiny differences in dialogue between this table read and the actual episode, probably due to Bob's impressive improv skills
do you have examples?
I noticed one example: When the two twins try to scam Jimmy and he kicks one in the leg, in the table read he calls them “Sideshow Bobs”, but in the show he calls them “Starlight Express”
I can't believe this show aired 10 years ago! Seems like yesterday. Time goes by too quickly.
whaaaaaa
That’s weird I thought breaking bad ended 10 years ago
you mean started? but i dont think thats accurate
@@maxshibanov818bajs
I love how you can feel Bob slowly getting back into character in the “Oh to be 19” speech
I am amased, that Bob Odenkirk is gesticulating exactly same, as he did in the seria😂
He exactly knows his character
Saw this table read years ago. And this edit adds so much to it. Wish shows would produce this kind of high quality supporting content. And hire talent like this channel to put them together.
These table reads are as good as the show
Yeah it's Saul goodman
I love listening to them. :D
every single frame has so much care for detail, no wonder the show is immersive
Nobody's mentioning that you edited all these, especially with the 2x speed to and play and pauses and syncing all the episodes to the table read, well done. I remember the original had no editing done, u did a great job sir!
i wish there were more of these
Imagine if they had recorded a table read of the episode "Plan and Execution" for example
@@MrJuuberi Yes! I just watched that episode yesterday.
This feels like the real thing... Just finished season 6... Man, I have never ever been so sad, the ending was just heart-breaking for me. When I first started I thought they were gonna have a happy-end...
Please just upload as many table reads as they allow you
The writing in this show is so breathtakingly good.
Time to watcg the whole show again in table reads
Thank you for the rendered upload OP ❤
The work you put in to all of the BCS fan content is amazing!
As a wannabe actor / voice actor i hope to get crazy projects like these
The greatness of Bob and his extended dialogue really gets me. The fact he can remember all his lines, just blows my mind
This is one the best shows out there. It is an experience
Master full from script to screen
whoa didn't even realize you like just posted this, looks like a lot of editing work so props to you!!
i just love this type of dark humor so much!
I love your videos so much, THANK YOU
Greatest crime in history is Bob not winning an Emmy or a Globe for this role!
I LOVE THIS VIDEOS!!!
I hope one day I can see the whole series just like this ... I'm a cinematography' student so is helping me a lot in my career
Bob is always a pleasure to listen to!!
Bob Odenkirk is the best! I think I like Better Call Saul better than Breaking Bad
This is so lovely
Why does DVD never include each last of those table script? I would watch each one 😍
Such fantastic actors
I love BCS so much that I get emotional whenever I think about the fact that it ended ❤😭
This guy walks talks exactly like his character Saul Goodman ❤
What a masterpiece.
There should be one series on Gus.
Not gonna lie, but Better Call Saul might be better than Breaking Bad
Favorite drama series of all-time
And that's how the greatest show of all time started
Good god, I miss this show.
I won't ever get tired of watching BCS. 😂
I'm at the end of breaking bad for the second time. And it's still breathtaking. Mike's murder such an outrage. And Hank 😭. I finished Better call soul all 6 seasons and absolutely loved them. Was so glad they completed Jimmys story before and after. I enjoyed this series so much. Probably watch it again for a second run now done BB a second time. The writing on these programs are phenomenal. And actor's are brilliant. Hats of too Jonathan Banks. And Bob Odenkirk, and his movie Nobody was awesome.
Bob sooooo far beyond good❤
amazing❤
Damn the actors for Cal and Lars are actually twin brothers in real life too
Thanks for this, but wheere are you getting these from and will you get them all eventually?
I've ordered cinnabons and now feel compelled to watch it in its entirety as decided by fate.
wee need next episode pleasee!! jimmy Negotiates with Tuco "its tough that's fair". show us your fair, XD
Watching rhea seehorn doesn't look like and doesn't feel like she's acting at all. Especially when she's talking to jimmy. The way she smiles and laugh are so natural.
Michael mando did a greay job too. Especially his last scene. Dude gave me chills the way he gave me chills when i played far cry 3. Even giancarlo says he should be a star.
It feels like a office episode but with with saul
Bro... Bob Odenkirk had a Jimmy/Saul speech at the beggining lmao
8:56 I like how he slowly gets into character its interesting
10 years!
Odenkirk already had it on point
Second episode pls pls
I’m surprised the actor for chuck isn’t there with them
"Revolutions in the Ukraine"...uff if Bob only knew what would be in store years later after saying that
Patrick's comment on the show still hurts me to this day. Saw his cameo in Mxr plays' channel where Patrick said that the show wasn't that good. Although he didn't emphasize on it and was instead meant to be just a brush off kinda statement, it still hurts.
Rhea Seehorn breathtaking woman. It's impossible not to fall in love.
0:32 find someone who looks at you the way Kim looks at Jimmy
I don't know if it's available but i really want to see chicanery table read.
SMOGGY!! HOMMGIEEEEYYY WHOLESOME LOVE YAAAAY HAHAHA HUUUUH!! HAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!
The narrator guy needs to be sacked. The woman who did it on the breaking bad blood money table read was so damn good.
Interesting how some of them just kinda read their parts and others actually act it out l.
No Michael McKean?? He was best actor in the early season for me.
1:03 Who Dey
wow peter gould sounds really similar to the guy who played chuck when he first speaks
Лучший сериал а истории. 🔥🔥🔥
Bruh, I made essentially the same video a year ago. RUclips didn't allow publish it due to copyright, because it shows the episode :(
It's interesting how little they changed after the table read. The script was just that good.
after finishing bcs it feels the story was about saul only and bb is just a big part of it
yeah its a show about him
I thought they were going to play Uno......... lmao
0:31 ahg it's too much, rhea...
Lets chuk chuk
👏🏻👏🏻
When was this recorded?
Lol, it's at the beginning. June 1, 2014. First episodes were made in June 2014, airing February 2015.
Skibidi Toilet
Where is the twistusion?
where was Michael McKean?
My bad. He was chillin at my place
@mahboi08 is built diff.
It was the fluorescent lights
obviously he couldn't be present at the table read cause of all the electromagnetism around smh my head...
I aint familiar with tv show production. What is table read for?
It's a time for every actor to get familiar with performing the scenes together without the expense of the set and all the crew associated like the costume and makeup crews, the lighting guys etc. Sometimes the set pieces arent even done being built yet. It also allows for them to run through lines of dialogue, and the actors directors and writers etc can change things because sometimes things that sound good in the written script don't work as well when spoken aloud. Things like that.
Usually they aren't filmed but because this was such a highly anticipated tv show, they recorded the table reads for extra content to release later.
I've been at around 20 readings, and nobody applauded. Keep it real, please...
why do this?can they record the voice while the film?
Really? You make zero sense.
"Revolutions in the Ukraine"
Everyone was defending jimmy and call his brother asshole but from the very first episode and jimmy want scheme money out of his brother
BCS > BB
the revolution means a change of economic formation... which didn't happen to Ukraine at any point...
Where’s Lalo?
Common sense much?
Revolution WAS raised in the Ukraine
Казалось бы, причём здесь Украина...
Like all (most) US shows, it went 2 seasons too long.
This will not be popular but so what. This is why Better Call Saul was so disappointing to me. No dialog with looong stretches to try and disguise it. Loooong back stories of characters who were not central. Once Saul left Breaking Bad this who was an inevitable death march to the end.
After watching this series I can definitely say it is OVERRATED!!’ Don’t compare this with masterpiece Breaking bas
quite possible the worst take ever given
In Ukraine. Not in THE Ukraine. You don't say in the England. You don't say in the Australia...
Wont matter when Russia takes it over. Then we can call it The Russia.
everyone is tired of you
It’s called america. Not Amedica
the applause at the 6 min mark. God bless Bob odenkirk ❤
When was this recorded?
