Now that we know the rear window rolls down...next thing I want to know is, Is it still going to be built in Japan? More specifically the Tahara plant.
Yes
Yes it is
Yes it will be the Tahara plant.
The LC250 and GX550 will both be assembled in Japan so I don’t see why the 4Runner wouldn’t be. Makes sense to have them built along side each other because of how many parts are shared.
Yes at Tahara….no excess capacity in States or Mexico to manufacture other than the fabled Tahara plant
Please keep it manufactured at the tahara factory 🙏🏽
Probably not, its so similar to the tacoma
Build it in Russia
Thanks for always being on top of things Jon and keeping us posted! Looking forward to your post on April 9!
OMG!!! Let’s gooo!! I’m soooo freaking excited!! Can’t wait to see more content!
Can’t wait to share!
I appreciate they used the rolldown rear window to announce its reveal date. It shows that they listen to the community. Rolldown or riot! Haha
OH YES
Looking forward to the reveal video Jon!
Can’t wait to share with you all
Very excited!
Great. Like we need another huge screen.
Stoked about the rear window!
Thanks for the review! I hope I’ll see the smaller screen option like the Tacoma, I like that more than the oversized screen. Looks great otherwise!
Great work. Thanks.
So excited! 😊
🎉
John, I think you are on point. They have done the same thing they did with the Sequoia/Tundra twins.
If the 4Runner is still made in Japan, THAT would make a huge difference for me. I wouldn’t mind a higher trim 4Runner vs. a 1958 LC250. Though to be fair, both are desirable trucks to me.
So hyped for the reveal. Gonna wait a few years for some of the kinks to get worked out (and hopefully a hybrid powertrain), but this is 100% my next vehicle
So far it looks good! Cant wait!
Can’t wait!!!
April 9th is my birthday, thank you and Toyota for the reveal! 😊
Now you need to get yourself one of these in the future. Early happy birthday!
My on April 8 ! That back coming down is the sweetest thing to have ! Still keeping my 2004 4Runner, if I buy a 2025 ! Yota4Life
@@daviddempsey3891 Dope, and mine is April 10th 😊 So nice, gang!
Also April 10th! Aries gang lol I was hoping the Tacoma TRD Pro would be available for purchase as a birthday present to myself
Wow I found the brainwashed cult
Crazy that the current gen is so old but still looks so good and at the same time needs an update!
Timeless
Reveal on April 9; available September 2026.
I will very happy if many of the designs details of the new Tacoma are carried over to the new 4Runner. I hope that it will get the locking center and rear differentials.
Hell yeah!! You’re the best bro. Been waiting for someone to reveal the reveal date.
He didn't reveal it...
Just discussing his enthusiasm.
@@nwezetx1 You’re slow bro. I said reveal the reveal date .
Can't wait! Dreading the price reveal..
Can't wait!!!!
Someone left their Mac book on the dash
😅
Big ol iPad.
@@TRDJon yeah and wish they would go for a smaller integrated look
That tablet on the dash is horrendous and adds to the cost of the vehicle
From what I see so far there is nothing this new one brings to the table to make it better than the current model and replaces the 1GR with that bloody turbo
Can’t wait to get one
Looks dope!
Man i cant wait im so hype!!!!!
stoked! Can't wait to see the real deal!
Noti gang on deck TRD JON
I'm so glad they are keeping the rear roll down window
My guess is that with the cost of development and sales projections Toyota studied, using a lot of common parts to the new Tacoma probably made sense, if it has a lot of common parts, moving the production to the Mexico Tacoma Plant might be the most productive as it will streamline flex-plant operations, not sure if they are going to build the 4 Runner in North America to please US regulators over new trade and import rules, preparing for a EV Future or all of the above? either way it looks to be a good overall step for Toyota, although I must admit, topping the current 4 Runner is a tough act!
Toyota has cut way back on ev stuff as have other companies
It was already announced that it is going to be made in Japan.
I agree to de-badge the chrome "4Runner" and do a small black one like the LC
IM SO EXCITED!!!
Lol
Hoping that parts sharing, especially interior bits, will keep the price near where it is now, or maybe a little less to give the LC some breathing room.
Hyped!
This is exciting, the day is finally almost here!
One concern I have is the rust that forms in the corners of the bar where it says “Toyota” on the rear. My 5th Gen was showing signs of corrosion in the top left corner of that “bar.”
Keeping parts and power trains identical to the Tacoma sounds good to me, as I plan to buy a first year 4Runner. It means those parts will have been field tested in the Tacoma.
Just got my 5th gen ORP... but I would LOVE to add this on top of my current one. I'll wait at least 3-4 years.
It looks like a wider platform. That’s exciting!!
huge hips
Can’t wait! Same here, the 4Runner letters will be removed.
LET'S FREAKING GO ROLL DOWN WINDOW?!?!?!?! Also that looks more like Heritage Blue. It's a little bit darker.
They kept it!!!
and this is why they’re Toyota
We all know the prices are gonna be ridiculous on these
The MSRP price will be only slightly higher, but those markups....whoooosh.
Send like the interior will be identical to the Tacoma. I was hoping it would have its own unique design like the Land Cruiser got
Already love the taillights.
So good
that's it.. im buying it
I think the first spy shots of the 4 runner with the camouflage is that one. Toyota probably took it to an open area, took professional photos of it.
I would totally buy this if I could afford it 😢
Get another job then! Why are you watching sports on days you can work.
I love Toyota's durability, and simplicity. Way better than Tesl.
So exciting! To me, the "TOYOTA" letting appears bronze. Also zooming in on the front passenger pillar, there looks like extra bulk on the exterior, snorkel perhaps? Could this be the Trail Hunter package!? Also what is that round shape just above the driver's seat, left side? If it was someone ducking, wouldn't we see their body thru the head rest / seat gap? Keep the videos coming Jon!
HOLY SHIT this is great news
I'm so excited to join back to the toyota family. Especially I just hit my pay raise, hard work pays off
Get the 5rh Gen quick. Before its too late.
Do blow your hard earned money on new overpriced vehicles.
@@carbonking53 whatever the fuck I want,
Yes make those high interest bank payments lol. What ever you want. Be like the rest of society. Don't think, just consume lol. We have the power to stop the craziness but you and many others help us all get screwed.
@@Star-fc4ni not my problem
exciting
I am absolutely loving that Toyota is keeping a blue similar to cavalry blue.
I told you last Saturday (3/30/24) that my salesman that I bought my 23 Tacoma said they got informed the roll down back window was staying.
That is great news, now keep the 4.0 V6.
I dont like how big the screen is though. Thats a distraction IMHO
Hope it comes in bronze oxide! Thanks for your impressions on the interior. Do you prefer the new LC interior to the Tacoma?
lets goo!
I own a 2013, by looking at the new 4runner touchscreen entertainment center it's look a laptop screen size. I kinda like the shape of Jeep wrangler touchscreen entertainment center.
Toyota dealerships are going to have a field day with markups on this one.
They always do
For the initial release yes, but the '24 tacomas are already going MSRP or less depending on your region. Give it some time on market and you will be ok. The PRO will probably be the primary stealership ripoff it always has been.
Maybe the texture is there to help climb up to the roof? Like a widdle wadder.. Not sure how sturdy that plastic is but never know with Toyota
I truly glad they kept lots of great appearances of the new 4Runner. Kept the box shaped, and still looks like the 5th gen. Kept it old skool look, but more modern.
And hopefully they kept the body-on-frame as well.
We all know that we will expect a 2.4L turbocharged four banger.
It’s awesome but they should keep making the oldie but a goodie dinosaur 4.0L V6, update the engine with D4-S. And it be much more significant, much more powerful in a Natural way.
5th gen 4Runner is still my most go to truck to buy one day. But let’s see this how it goes, once we see more soon. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I had a feelin, GTR-Lighting, and mostly Morimoto will IMMEDIATELY start makin automotive led lighting products.
Along with Lasfit as well: ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
And let’s not forget, this truck better stay as made in Japan.
That’s the most important part.
Because if it does not, than that’s gonna be a huge problem.
Reliability is what makes this 4Runner a 4Runner. Pure bullet proof truck.
I'm stoked. I love my 5th gen Lunar pro. I'm looking forward to seeing what power trains will be offered. Obvious the Taco but will we see a manual? Can't wait for people to start reviewing the Max motor.
The rear 4runner letters may be removable or something that can be custom fit with black or textured letters. I don't think is a big deal. For me most important is improving some components that were a bit soft like the wheel bearings especially the front. And for some reason I hope they kept the mechanical transfer case. And hopefully they can now easily fit 33' tires (no bmc or trimming)
LOVING THIS!!! Based on what I’m hearing, I’m thinking that it’ll still be made in Tahara. US and Mexico plants are at capacity which makes me believe the new 4Runners will still have a “J” on their VIN numbers
Looking at the back end, it seems like they've kept a lot of design elements from the 5th gen. Which is awesome because the 5th gen just looks perfect from every angle, hence why it ran for nearly 15 years. One thing though for the 6th gen, the 4runner badge placement is a bit questionable...
Very Tacoma like except the first teaser did not have the DS exhaust of the Tacoma. 🤞
Is it a throwback to put the Toyota script on a giant dog bone under the window😂
Hopefully that front diff will be tougher than what we saw in the 24’ Tacoma. Sadly good ol’ reliable 1GR is gone. In with the turbo failing 4cyl
What ever you do, DO NOT sell the Calvary Blue Pro you have in order to buy the new one when it becomes available. That is the staple of the channel! You gotta pass that baby on to the future minis bro! I know you’ll be tempted considering it’s the most sought after color for a 5th gen pro. The resell is wild. Who cares though! Keep it! Haha
I'm loving it though. I miss my 4Runner.
Jon, when is the Tacoma hybrid event?
Looks great, I want to see that blue on the Tacoma please! Not sure which one to buy.
Woot woot
Can't wait for the new Toyota 5window
❤
So pumped! 🔥
Exciting, but that headroom looks cramped! Hopefully just the pictures.
Yea, that's close to 100% the Tacoma interior (from what is observable). Probably one way they can through economies of scale keep the price down relative to the Landcruiser and GX.
holding off on the GX / LC until April 9th. LFG !!
This is a huge load off! That is the perfect color. Bronze wheels will look so good. Reminds me of the Ultimate Trail Teams FJ. But, I am colorblind. May have to plasti-dip the bumper. Only one thing left to know...made in Japan???
The hips dont lie😩
Where I'm from dealers will have these will 45k above MSRP, at least.
How will it differentiate itself from the LC? No locking rear diff on most trims? No leather? What else??
I hope it will have room for tall guy like me! I’m 6’5" and my 5th gen is not the most spacious
Going to start saving money for one 😭
Seems like everyone thinks this is going to be a lot more expensive. I don't see how it can go up that much in price considering the Land cruiser starts around 55K. Love 4runners but I will have to see how this compares to the Land Cruiser and GX. I might have to go with the Land Cruiser but I hope the 4runner outshines the other 2..The other 2 are very nice.
The 4Runner badge lower doesn’t bother me, I do wish the font was more updated.
Where to get the Team4R shirt Jon?
I honestly wish they released the 4R first over the Taco……can’t wait until the 9th
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada this sport utility vehicle is going to be unveiled Apr 9 according to the Canadian website thanks for the presentation
Thanks for the info! Yessir it will be!
Love my 2018 4runner, can't wait to see this new 4runner. Too bad my local dealership sucks balls.
Are those built in speakers on the back around the Toyota script? Tailgate feature?
I thought that too but I think it's just a pattern. I can't imagine the speaker issues long term from dirt/water etc., I don't think toyota would do that for reliability reasons.
Hey Jon
When are you picking up your Tacoma in Az. I missed you when you dropped off your taco to westcott.!! Would like to meet you in person.
Hey man! It will be like the second week of April
Doesn't get much better i'm happy
I'm not sure if it's just for the photo op, but I only see 2 seats.
I am curious about the "thing above the license plate", its texture on the sides and top side bumped out and textured.... is it possibly a step to get to the roof????
The rear window surround looks quite chunky, and very different to the hatch on the LC. Looks like the hatch here wraps around the D-pillar a bit whereas the LC was solely between the tail lights. Also looks like maybe the top spoiler will house the wiper.
Looks like the 5th Gen imo. Bit chunky for sure
I wonder how many months before a car manufacturer puts a 55" TV right there in ya face. Those screens are getting ridiculously large.
