The fact that this is still being built in Tahara is amazing. I’m very impressed with the new 4Runner overall and I’m looking forward to seeing it in person! Thank you for showing us the walkaround!

Is it a good thing that it is made in Tahara?
Shouldn't it be good for the U.S. economy as well, since the Toyota plant in the U.S. is maturing and there are no quality issues?

TRD JON is a true Toyota fan with real skin in the Toyota game. Unlike some of these other RUclipsrs who are already complaining that it doesn't have a pano roof and massaging seats. Seeing Jon geek out on stuff like the rear window switch is why he is a Toyota Fanboy like myself and thus an awesome reviewer and of all the ones I have watched thus far on the 6th gen 4Runner, the most genuine. It was nice how you could draw parallels to past 4Runners you owned and I liked how you did the 1st impression review for the 2nd half of the vehicle. Good job Toyota of bringing Jon out for his review...two thumbs up :). P.S., I do like what I see but not sure on the grille yet as it has a stacked looked to me so I need to see these in person to make up my mind.

Jon, you crushed it, great review in 9 minutes. The 6th Gen seems way better than I was thinking it would be. The major important thing in my mind that remains to be confirmed is long term reliability, especially engine and trans (but, hey, it's Toyota). Good items to me are: Made in Japan, rear window roll down with high mounted wiper, auto lift gate, huge 14" screen, 4H/4L, locking rear diff, body on frame, modernized interior, digital gauge cluster, and AUX buttons. Next, I'd like to see inside the engine bay and see SPECS, esp. MPGs and curb weights (regular vs. iForceMax). Thanks.

Jon, your first impression at the end is like a little kid in a toy store! 😅

Beautiful. Can't wait to see all of the line-up. The only thing I wish Toyota would do is add handles on the windshield pillars. It would make getting in and out much easier. My 2024 has one on the passenger side but not on the driver's side. Having one on the driver's side not only makes it easier to get in but it is great to have the handle when off-roading. Other than that I can't wait to get one when the warranty runs out on my 2024 TRD.

Manual prop rod is an interesting savings, bring back a giant spring or something if not a couple shocks!

Hmmm it's starting to grow on me exterior wise, I think the subtle nods to the 5th gen styling cues are nice and appreciate (the boxy rear end for example). I do like the interior and love that it comes with some things you would've had to add on aftermarket in 5th gens like aux ports for lights, the extra 120v invertor is nice, and extra storage inside for tools.

Jon, I like the cruise control cruise control settings under the steering wheel and the manual 4x4 shifter on the 5th gen., to bad they didn't keep that but other than that I like it, beautiful 4Runner.

Overall it looks good. I still have my 2010 5th gen and this gen 6 interior looks great with the new infotainment center and new center cockpit area. Great improvement over the past gen that barely changed for the entire 15 years. I do wish there was more storage space in the center area tho, kinda like what the Grand Highlander has, as smaller families do buy this car as their primary rig. I also don't love the lights in the back. They are too small and squared off for the rugged look of the car. I wish they had gone to more of the sequoia style lights in the back.

First video on my feed! I like it, would love to get some more info on the back seats compared to your 5th gen
Is the seating the position the same as the new taco?

Definitely love the light bar included and the hood. But honestly not a fan of the copy and paste Tacoma features. I know they share a history but a distinction would probably make some people buy both. I guess the engine will just be something we need to see how it plays out 5 years from now. Long term stability will be a question until then.
