Bulldozer is right, I nicknamed a friends late malamute D9, from the stories they told of him of just pushing the fence boards off to take himself for a walk and just going in straight line where ever he wanted go, not around or over but through. Just made his own path, and kids loved him and he loved everyone.

My thoughts exactly. And some fluffy bulldozers are just mouthy. I could tell that he wasn’t really biting. Just mouthing for fun and love. Sadly it’s a trait that can get an inexperienced owner in trouble if it happens when little children are around.

@Orcus79 Orca They should use them as police dogs.
"Oh no, the villain has run into those gardens. Whatever will we do...Steve, get The Destroyer."
Out comes a malamute who smashes through fences like he's The Juggernaut, and could happily run for days. The criminal wouldn't have a hope of escape.
And once he finds the criminal, will constantly mouth without biting, so won't do any harm except to a few fence panels.

( instead of dragging my 5'2 mom around). If you want a malamute, breeders can have low-drive puppies - and most do temperament testing so that they can match the right puppy to the right person/family. @@youtubischill1303 If you (or anyone else) seriously consider getting a malamute, for the sake of your own sanity read everything about the breed first, and I mean everything, and be sure you know exactly what you are getting yourself into. People always advise that only experienced owners should get Malamutes but how do you get experience without owning one ?
I used to have a lot of GSD's and they were very easy to train, however Malamutes need both physical and mental stimulation every single day or they will get bored and start destroying your garden/house or start to be deliberately naughty just to get an interaction with you (like a quick dig in your side then they run away, come back then nip you in the side in hope that you get up and chase them). Definitely not for people who lack motivation in any way shape or form.
With all of that being said the payoff is worth all of the blood, sweat and tears you will shed whilst trying to get them to do stuff, they are extremely intelligent dogs who only do things if they want to. BUT they do pick up training very easily and then get bored with it - so keep training mixed up as much as you can, also do not set routines as when a certain time for something comes near they will harrass you until you have done what it is they are expecting!
There is so much more I could write about them but you would honestly be better off reading up on them from vets/specialist pages to get a fuller picture.

I lived in Alaska for 18 years: in Nome for 5 of those years. I helped one of my high school teachers train his dog team for the Iditarod. Leo's personality reminds me of Moses. He was wheel dog: the position directly in front of the sled ...the ones who need to be strong to break the sled free in case the runners freeze to the ground. My teacher ran and finished the Iditarod twice then sold his dogs...but he gave Moses to me. 🤗 Moses was only half Malamute so his size wasn't quite Leo's...but his head was enormous! He loved going on what we called walks...which were times he really just pulled me everywhere. Literally. Moses detested being stared at. His pen was outside my living room window so I'd sneak to the window while he sat looking out into the yonder with his back to me. It would only take a few seconds of focused staring before one ear would begin to twitch and rotate back. ....then the other. Then would come the shifting of front feet...then the butt. Finally, quick glance over his shoulder to very clearly tell me with his eyes he did NOT find the humor in my game. 🤨 He would try one last time to find his Zen....but if I continued to peer at him with more vigor....he would get up with a pronounced and audible HUFF ....and walk to the part of the yard I could not see him. It took until the next snowfall for me to realize Moses was a sled dog and none of us had asked him if he was ready to retire. I gave him to a friend I knew to be very attentive and caring to his team of dogs and Moses almost literally did backflips to be put back in harness! By that time we had more than a few sunset/sunrise beach or tundra walks with quiet times of just sitting and contemplating life under our belts. He was a great therapist with his wise eyes and sometimes cocking his head at some of my more difficult life issues. Moses was a great friend.

Ok don't listen to them. They were bitching about our newfoundland.

Leo is so gorgeous! What a great personality too! I bet his humans can’t decide to laugh or cry at his antics.😂

That LOOK when he actually hurt you - I've seen it on the cat so many times. The 'but I was just playin'!' look!

He thinks it's some kind of improv show. You wear the beekeeper hat, he's the Russian grandmother. Really top notch performances by you both.

that entrance with the boot was so freaking cute! i love him. and glad the actual bite seemed to be a bit of a mistake on his part with him being so mouthy, and didn't do much/if any damage, glad you were able to get a laugh after his antics.

Thank you for your positive, informative, and funny videos. I'm a nurse, and just need some fun living often animal centered distraction.
    So, again, thank you!

"Grabby feets" was my Mal Kodiak's favorite game on earth. That and dancing with me and singing along to Queen songs. He'd get incredibly excited whenever the opening of "You're my best friend" started playing because he knew it was fun time.
He'd rear up and put his front paws in my hands and I'd twirl him around and sing him the song and he'd harmonize along, especially on the chorus. "OOOOOOH YOURE MAKING ME LIVE" WOOOOWOOWOOWR
You always miss your pets, but we had a connection like few others. I miss him every day
