As an owner of a rescue, my dog was the most spoiled one I had. When we first got her, she'd lunge at the dinner table never knowing when she'd get her next meal. She fought for whatever she could, and you had to respect it. By the end, she'd just look at you and expose her belly. She wouldn't even move or get up. She knew that you'd go to her with snacks, and belly rubs. She had the GOOD LIFE.

From what I've read in my Lhasa Apso breed books, Tibetan Mastiffs were used at monasteries as part of a two-pronged dog protection system against burglaries. Outside the monastery door would be a Tibetan Mastiff tied to a spit with a rope--the purpose of which was to attack any burglars and make a big noise if a burglar came, but otherwise to be quiet. If the burglar got past that dog, then inside the monastery were the Lhasa Apsos who were trained to NEVER bark during meditation sessions but ALWAYS bark for strangers--they would be the alarm dogs of last resort.

@@chiloveradiouncut Wow so if you wanna be rude af, let's be rude! firstly, the comment you are replying to says they read it in a BOOK. What part of that says "online" to you? Secondly, the Tibetan Mastiff is an ANCIENT breed, this information is available online. Meaning it was likely bred before written history existed, considering dogs were first domesticated about 40,000 years ago and written history didnt exist until about 3400BC. So, like she says in the video, no one knows what Tibetan Mastiffs were ORIGINALLY bred for. They were LATER used to guard monasteries, and it is believed they were originally bred for guarding/protection, but it CAN'T be known for sure because, since they are an ancient breed, written history didnt exist then. Btw all this info was easily and readily available on the internet, so how about before judging other people do some reading of your own.

The gas is worth it. That groom is $400 on the low end and for much less work than she put in. Gas for my Toyota RAV round trip would cost $111. Not to mention her energy and love and treatment of and for the animals is beyond expectation. She selflessly committed to the rest of his grooms. I mean, that alone. So in the end, it’s worth it.

@@KM-tk2ih of course. I didn't mean to give the impression that it wasn't worth it. Just that it's not as simple as some people may think, in terms of what the owners have to do on their end. It's not just a quick trip to the groomer. Many hours of travel are involved to and from. I'm happy the owners and their dog are able to be helped.

No you didn’t at all. You asked questions and made a fair statement. I agree it would have to be planned way in advance, since it’s a full day trip. I personally don’t mind driving, but 16 hours is quite a haul, that’s for sure! I guess the hardest part be the time, right? 🥴
