He's such a sweetheart! Not only was there no song of his people, but also he handled the uncomfortable or painful moments really well. His little "ows" and "oofs" when you snagged on a tangle made me want to give him a hug 🥺 What a good boy he is!
Me too! I want to hug him so much!!
@@poppyonline4034Same! 😢
That lack of a song surprised me!
@@thelamp9377he is a veteran singer of his people 😂
He was whining like a cat
I'm sure this distinguished floofy boi feels a lot better after losing all that compacted coat! It's very gratifying to see how you adjust each groom to the client's specific needs.
I 💜 different colors in his coat
What does that mean in English
I owned a wooly husky for 15 wonderful and cherished years. The coat is no joke. Beautiful, but if you aren’t committed to caring for it, please don’t get one. I would brush her throughout the week, and then spend hours once a month doing a deep clean. Going slowly, respecting her boundaries, and finding the right tools was essential to both my effectiveness and her comfort.
You did a lovely job on this senior fellow. Thank you for pointing out how much of a job their coat care really is.
Exactly accurate about grooming Huskies and especially woolies.
👍🏽😺
genuine question, because I was wondering this while she was cleaning him and even she showed all that dander that came off of him! How did you manage to keep your house (relatively) clean? Even with daily brushes vacuuming must have been just as frequent
@@himboprince surprisingly, she didn't shed as much as my German Shepherd. I do have a pretty serious vacuum cleaner, though. :) I would take my dogs outside for brushing, weather permitting, and when we were inside, I placed a sheet on the floor which caught a lot of the hair I removed. It's a fair question. A regular coated husky would likely have shed more.
I would love to have a husky but got neither the time, or the place, for such a beautiful dog. Im jealous of the time you were able to spend with your pooch
It takes a lot of endurance for a dog like Chewy to manage a 3 hour session at the groomers.
He is extremely floofy, I love him!
Omigosh SO FLOOFY! I love him too. I bet he gives the best snuggles ever.
@@Branwhin I love dogs that give floof snuggles 🥰
same x3
Imagine being that floofy and hating being brushed 🥲 poor puppo
He has the prettiest face, what a sweetie pie!
He's so fluffyyy
I’m going to die
That’s what I want to comment under every video 😂
Our fluffy boy
🤗🤗🤗🌈🦄🌈🦄🌈🦄
He's floooofffy.
The fact that with all of the protective ( and fashionable) gear you've gained throughout this series, some dirt is can still get through is crazy. Your dedication for these animals is insane.

she needs some goggles next xD
You could tell he was uncomfortable, but he really did do such a good job ❤
Finally a husky after so long!!! Although I was missing the song of their people!!!
What a well behaved flufffyyy pupper!❤
No singing but the tap-dancing near the end was adorable lol
Not a Husky tho. Probs some Husky/Malamut mix. Or Husky/Samoyed or something else with a rounder face and muzzle.
@@Oozaru85I know wooly malamutes are a thing of their own and ar specifically bred as that. Could've swore this was one.
He probably did a lot of singing until he ended up with arthritis and was probably too tired to sing a note.. apart from the brushing.. ❤️
floffy
He is such a well behaved Husky. No singing to his ancestors, well, not much. He’s beautiful. I hope he lives many years more.
^Learn how to use spaces and commas already.🤡
With agonizing arthritis? Wow, you are mean. /s
@@ronjones-6977you know what they meant 🙄
@@ronjones-6977 well,if it’s that bad, just put him down now! Why bother with the surgery?
At this point he would be singing to himself. Not really worth the trouble.
Speaking as a rather hairy, arthritic, elderly(ish) gentleman, I'd rate you an 11 out of 10 😊
I love how you respect your clients, work around their physical/mental issues and still make them look a star 🎉
😉😂
That is the greatest difference between a before and after that I've seen so far! As an allergy sufferer I was terrified at the sight of the dander on your eyelashes. 😯
Wow his coloring is GORGEOUS! What a distinguished senior gentleman ❤️
He's one of the handsomest dogs i've ever seen
Holy cow, that pre-bath blowout is incredible to watch. I'm sure that Chewy appreciates your efforts, even if he can't articulate it.💗
That was an extremely satisfying groom...to watch. lol. Being allergic to nearly every dog breed, the amount of dander flying around made me shudder. The owners must have been delighted when they picked him up. He's absolutely stunning. I hope the poor doggo's on some kind of pain relief for his arthritis. I think he did incredibly well under the circumstances. :o)
I'm sure he is. If they care enough to pay for a three hour groom, I'm pretty confident they would pay for meds.
The groom is free with her so maybe they don't have lots of money also ...
Chewy already looked a lot better after that first blow out, but the final look is amazing! He looks like the softest cloud!
Chewy is a stunning long coat Husky. You don’t see them often and the ol’ boy wasn’t a drama guy! Sweet and well-behaved. 😊
I am socked about the lack of "songs of his people" that Husky's are known for there singing... Tho he did seam to let her do just about anything other then mess with his paws...
I saw a dog that looked exactly like this when driving a few week ago! I just thought he had never been groomed, I had no idea “wooly” coats existed.
@@setapart2879Thanks to you, I now know what chiengora is, and thanks to Wiki-How, I now know how to do it too 8:02 😆
Thanks to your videos, I have added Dog Groomer to my mental list of "Jobs I'm Glad Other People Do Because You Couldn't Pay Me Enough". The number one job on that list is Nurse. I am eternally grateful that there are people in this world who are willing to be nurses and dog groomers. Chewy stands taller and moves better thanks to your efforts.
As a wooly owner for 8 years now, this is one of the best grooming video's I've seen! My pup still does not like brushes, but a Kong usually buys some time. Blower's are truly crucial during shedding/molting season.
i love how attentive you are with senior animals! from one hazard worker to another, have you considered a respirator or n95 particulate mask for blow drying? might help keep fur and dander out of your nose and mouth.
Yes. Both Vanessa and the cameraman should seriously consider masking in these situations to protect themselves from potentially long term lung damage.
For an animal like this, they almost need a PAPR
I agree, a mask or respiratory mask would be helpful. I would also advise in wearing protective eyewear.
Vernier
Super Protective Anti-fog Face Shield with DuPont 3 Way Odor Control Carbon Adjustable Air Filter 20"x25". This filter is unique in that can be trimmed to fit most needs. Use it in the bottom filter area of the face mask.
Seconded (or should that be fifthed?). You might not do a dry blowout very often but all that dander in your lungs and eyes is not good for you. Take care of yourself as well as the animals, GwtD :)
What a sweet floof! 😍
Dryer? Fine. Bath? Cool. Brush? No thank you, ma'am! _sings song of his people_
Pedicure?? Not on your nelly!!
He is gorgeous. His groomed coat reminds me a little of T.V. dog Lassie. And such a sweet disposition! Having those mats tugged at like that must have been so uncomfortable for him. You did a beautiful job, Vanessa.
Chewy is definitely feeling his years. Thank you for being gentle and still giving him a great groom. He's a handsome old man now.
Shoutout to the Camara Man for always doing a great job even when he has to be showered with dander, too! 🙌🏼✅🐕
“No touchy the toe beans lady”. 😂😂😂Awesome job 💚
LOL at Vanessa ducking for cover when Chewy shook himself in the shower 🤭
I love your channel! I got a desheding tool and slicker brush for our equally fluffy kitties, and I now have enough fur to weave several queen size blankets. With the undercoats gone, the mats are gone, and our 9 floofy babies are SOOOOOO much happier!!! 😊 Thank you for all you do! ❤
Aww. What a kind gentleman! So sweet! I cannot beLIEVe what came out of his coat during the pre-dry. 🤫 You're very generous, Vanessa. He looked absolutely amazing! ❤
When he gets home he’ll look in the mirror and thank you Vanessa ❤
That was an EF5 furnado!
Love your videos - you're so patient and kind with your canine clients. They'll feel a lot better once they've had a good grooming (don't we all?🤭), especially on a hot summer day. Thank you Vanessa, keep up the good work!
I wonder how often Vanessa has to clean her air ducts. She's had some fluffy fellas over the years.
Not just an EF5 furnado, a debris-packed EF5 furnado.
Thank you so much for always educating us on the various breeds and their requirements for proper care. You are helping people to buy/adopt the right companion for their circumstances, instead of simply grabbing the cutest, fluffiest, etc.
I wish there were at least one of you in every city and town with pets in need of compassionate and thorough grooming.
Poor baby was struggling to stand towards the end 😭
As always you do an amazing job!
I don’t think I could stand that long! And I don’t like my feet touched either!
I like how compassionate and considerate you are of your clients needs and adjust according to their comfort levels. It's one of the main reasons I really enjoy watching your videos: well that and the extremely cute dogs like this floofy boy. 😄
Chewy is a beautiful dog. He left half of himself at your shop😂, but he's a beautiful dog thanks to your hard work, Vanessa.
From the table to the shower he already was thinner and while drying him he looked like a puppy, so small. And that sound he made😭🥰🥰🥰🥰
The face picture at 7:56 is beautiful!
Vanessa’s persistence with each dog’s particular needs really pays off. Elderly, arthritic, woolly, matted, needing a blowout, brushing, and wash add up to a long grooming, but Chewy looks so good after it all. 👍🏽
He already looks better even before the bath! And still more after his bath! WOW!
Chewy is so beautiful and quite a bit of hard work but when he is all done, he looks magnificent. He will sleep well tonight, l think you will too. Take care.
I am a bather at a grooming salon. And I absolutely love it! Went and got a certificate too haha but I just got introduced to your channel and I love what you do, very informative for current and future pet owners. Giving information that we try to drill into clients but they don’t always understand; like you gotta brush your long haired pups especially the doodles with the curly hair. So thank you 🙏🏼
What a sweet, old, wooly mammoth! He's absolutely beautiful, and he looks amazing after his groom.
I always appreciate and respect you for how considerate you are with every animal, but especially with senior pets. You do your very best to make the process as painless and stress-free as possible.
I bet he felt so much better afterwards.
Holy smokes he looks incredible. That before picture you can see the compaction of his coat, then the after looks so free and flowing.
Chewey, I am sure wants to say Thank you, but he did't, I am saying thank you, for helping such a beautiful dog.
He is the cutest, handsomest, smartest, well behaved and loving boi EVER!!
Ahhhh! Our 11 year-old Siberian Husky is also arthritic in his senior years. Our groomer has to make similar accommodations for him, and she does a great job. So happy to see Chewy getting the good treatment!
He was SO GOOD at standing up for the drying considering his age and health! It looked like he quite enjoyed the bath and head massage too.
Maybe I'm weird but I think it would be awesome to see a shot of the volume of removed hair. Chewy looks great and very appreciative!
Wooly huskies are for when you want fleece for yarn, but simply cannot deal with or tolerate sheep. Excellent fiber production with bi-annual harvests (spring blowout and Shedtember), lots of snuggles and wonderful jogging buddy~
I've never seen this breed before, Chewy is spectacular! He was so good even though he was uncomfortable. What a lovely gentleman.
I love learning about new (to me) breeds and your videos are amazing with all the knowledge you impart.
He IS a Siberian Husky, just one with a coat that is undesirable, not a separate breed. Reputable breeders will try to NOT produce woollies, because of the difficulties of keeping the coat groomed so that the dog is comfortable and clean.
You’ve never heard of a husky?
You’ve never seen a husky?
@@RecoveringSkoomaAddict let me clarify...i've never heard of/seen a Woolli before. Yes, I've seen huskies.
@@parryyotter never seen a woolli before
The work that this girl does…Is incredible it’s so amazing that she has the time and patience ❤
Let just hope she never quits and lets support her by watching her vids and commenting nice stuff!
She does it from her heart of hearts. Blessed be the lady who helps those poor unhappy pups get relief and care.
And donates so much time to shelters.
I always watch the ads that come up on this channel to be able help these dogs and cats 👍
Sounds good!
The patience and love she shows each animal type is awesome. When Chewie did not want the toes to be messed with anymore she was lovingly sensitive to that.
This channel always makes me smile and learn all I can about dog/cat breeds and proper care.
6:06 - The startled look on his face, as you were down the "other end" ... priceless.
He has several little puppies hiding in all that fur omg 😅❤🇨🇦
As someone with hayfever, you're an absolute hero for blowing out all that even with the beekeepers net on. I feel like sneezing just watching!
Same boat as you (also with the additional bonus of allergy to a bunch of other airborne stuff) - worth us bearing in mind that a well fitted N95 or N99 respirator (or half respirator with separate eye goggles) would help A LOT when blow drying an unwashed dog. I shudder to think what's in Vanessa and cameraman's lungs!
What a handsome boy!! Thank you so much for taking on older pets. Unfortunately, so many shops will no longer groom after 10 or 11, which for a Keeshond, our chosen breed, and many other breeds isn't very old. I love the oldsters, they have so much wisdom, experience and love to share. We lost our old girl in October and adopted a teenage Keeshond boy (10.5 months) rescued from a BYB 6 weeks ago. We were blessed to find a new groomer who went out of her way to make his first pro groom a good experience and she saved his matted, compacted and blowing teen coat - win-win! Our sweet, handsome, fun and cuddly boy now has a fan club and is their first and only Keeshond client. They're pretty rare here in NW Georgia. A good groomer is more important than a great hairstylist!!! God Bless!
He didn’t sing the song of his people. What a good boy.
I can't with his level of adorable fluff. I just wanna hug him!
You and me both. The floof is irresistible.
You have a heart of gold 💛 I admire your compassion for animals and the lengths you go for them ❤️ especially tidying up the Grinch feet!
That is a face that everybody can love. What a cute face and beautiful smile!!
Your shop is gonna take so long to clean now…😢
Oh he is so fluffy and beautiful.
OMG BEAUTIFUL BABY!
Your channel is really informative about dog breeding and how designer dogs have such a tough time with lifetime care. I also appreciate how the grooming, like showing how all the dander effects everyone and everything in the room.
Nice Samoyed type smile! He sure was more easy-going than the vocal shorthair huskies....
What a cutie, I'm melting.
Guided by experience and compassion/mercy, you found the Best way forward to keep him comfortable while giving him an amazing grooming. I love how you take such great care of them. Thank you on behalf of the pets that find their way into your shop.
Really do enjoy these videos and the narration. Sometimes the looks on the adorable animal's faces speak volumes. They range from thinking their life is ending to "Ah, this is the life!" Often I am watching quite a few at a time.
Whoa! Poof be gone. This transformation is beautiful ❤️ The groomer done a great job. He so precious 💞
He is so cute. He wears his floof like a rock. I liked the end when he was at the gate, ready to go. I guess when you leave the salon looking that good, you need to show the world.
I can't bgelieve you got all that done in three hours. Looked like an all-day adventure. Well done.
Absolutely beautiful ❤ I'm always amazed by how much hair my husky sheds without going bald 😮
So true. I’m always amazed how I vacuum for 30 minutes and sit down to watch fur bunnies roll across the floor.
Same with labs. No matter what there was still hair everywhere.
Try grooming a Corgi. I have had 5 of them and all of them were hairy shedding little monsters. They all have crossed the rainbow bridge. I still miss them.
oh what a handsome man. I'm so glad you looked after him; I know it's a lot. Hope you're looking after *your* health too!
Okay, you are the best. Knowing what you know and going ahead anyway makes you the the wonderful caring person you are.
He looked half the size without all the compacted undercoat. You really are an animals guardian angel ❤
3:58 I love how he looks with the Happy Hoodie over his eyes 😂 I groomed a Husky a few months ago who purposely kept pulling his Happy Hoodie over his eyes and then repeatedly tried to walk right off the edge of the grooming table 🤣
What a cute fluffy good boi, and such an adorable snoot.
Really, for a husky, he was pretty laid back. Mine never liked her feet being touched either. 😂
We had a stifling day today and I can only imagine what floofs like him must feel in that weather. 😢❤ Thank you so much!
Believe it or not, they don't get as hot as you may think. Their double coat actually helps keep them cool in the summer, as well as warm in the colder months. That is why you never should shave a husky.
@@BRadfrommalibu74 Surely though (and bear in mind I only have short-haired cats), that undercoat that Vanessa blew out at the start was adding to the heat retention? I dunno, it reminds me of a woolen layer underneath a t-shirt on a summer day! lol
Edit: Oh heck, I think I might've misunderstood. The comment "like him", I took to mean "overgrown undercoat like his". Not "fluffy dogs in general".
@BRadfrommalibu74 Yep. Same goes for cats. Imo, unless due to severe neglect and you have no other feasible option but to shave, it's animal abuse to shave them.
@@linseat7670 That very well could be the case if it were very matted and compacted. But in a normal situation, that undercoat protects the skin from the sun's UV rays. The coat you see on top is a coat of what are known as guard hairs, and they are what give the dog its' color. Huskys, Moots(malamutes), and others of what are called the Northern breeds are double coated, and what Vanessa was blowing out was the undercoat. Normally, Huskies blow their undercoat twice a year, as the seasons change.
I feel like I can't breath just watching this video :P So much dander! His before and after is stunning! His colouration reminds me of a collie!
He is an Angel! Your job is not easy but I love that you love it anyway. I like that non dog and cat owners get to see all the different personalities dogs and cats have on your channel. They are not all the same and it’s what makes me believe they all have souls. I have faith that when I go, my 3 bullies and 3 kitties will be waiting for me.
I have such a soft spot for seniors,he is just darling 🙏❤️
He is very handsome and good behaved for a senior!
Chewy is a mega floof with a very cute face, hope you all got a good rest after that groom 💜
You are , once again, a guardian angel to those pups that are a challenge to groom. Your talent, patience and skill is so evident when you finish your pups. I bet that your arms, legs and back are screaming fir a hot shower at the end of the day. My daughter in law has her own grooming salon..and oh…the stories she tells. I am so glad to see some of your challenges and the magnificent pups that you groom. Btw.. the camera man is amazing. You make a great team.
Wow...I see the amount of skill and no short determination required to do this, but honestly the courage she has is important too, since I feel SO sad when I hear the doggy cry that I would stop immediately and try to rub his belly and sleep in my bed too... Im just weak, I know ...
Chewie is so good!!! I have so much respect for you! You’re amazing! You knew his limits❤️ what a transformation!!!!

At the beginning I thought he was a bit chunky, but then I saw that it was mostly air 😀
A giant ball of cotton candy.
He reminded me of my boyfriend's dog, Apollo, rest in peace... the sweetest, kindest and most playful husky, who didn't know how to bark and rarely made any noise at all... he was a weird and quiet husky😊❤
