One thing about Jodie Foster is that this woman is a true friend & a loyal human. She was the first person to contact Rob Lowe following his sex tape scandal & went out of her way, going against the producers by getting him cast for a role in Contact (1997), when his acting career was plummeting. She was the one to straighten out Robert Downey Jr. regarding his addiction issues and wrote him an empowering letter (which he mentions in this conversation) while he was in jail & rehabs. Of all his actions, she always stood by Mel Gibson as a friend without condoning his actions. She was the only public figure to defend Kristen Stewart after she was thrust into a maelstrom of hatred following her affair with a married director. Jodie Foster is one remarkable woman, who's cinematic legacy is unparalleled, but also, whose cultural impact is undeniable even if people don't want to acknowledge it. I'm beyond shocked she hasn't received the AFI Life Achievement Award & Kennedy Centre Honours yet.

I was just noticing that. Her eyes are a stunning blue. People have told me how beautiful my eyes are (not bragging: stating other people's opinions) and I had to go in and look at mine in a mirror and compare. My eyes are blue, but her eyes are azure. It's the difference between the sky just after sunset and a tropic ocean at midday. I could fall into hers. Mine are just a little bit cold.
Jodie foster being so content at 60 makes so much sense. This woman has been an achiever throughout her life. Starting her career at age 3, a global movie star by age 12, first Oscar nomination at age 13, graduated high school as a valedictorian, had near perfect SAT scores & graduated Yale with magna cum laude, won two Oscars by age 28, directed her first movie at age 27 etc. I'm glad she's taking time to relax and not compete with her past self
Jodie Foster is such a 'present' person. She has a wonderful spirit.
I find her spirit to be very confrontational and over emotional. Like its not directed at bad intentions, but there is 0 chill and peace about her. She's like the first social justice warrior, mad about the world and all its injustices. You'd think at this age, shed calm down a little. We all learn not to let it consume us eventually.
She has always been so straight up. I interviewed the white people that as students went to Mississippi to help Blacks sign up to vote in 1964. They were still as passionate. I don't think folks chill as they get older...I'm 67. Since I am Black, I am always happy with Social Justice Warriors. I love that term SJW, it reaffirms that social justice is so hard to achieve that it takes warriors.

I will never stop saying how much I love Actors on Actors and this pairing is one of the best I have ever had on. You can see the admiration Jodie has for Robert and the joy she has seeing him so happy, and you can see how much Robert admires her and values her opinion. Robert Downey Jr. seems to be in a good mood since his Oscar win and i absolutely love that. He's the embodiment of a Golden Retriever. You just can't help but love him all the time and really wanna give him a hug. The rise and fall and rise again of his career needs to be studied, his progress as an actor is so inspiring

Not often you see RDJ looking up to someone like a little kid. You can tell how much he respects her.
I love how Jodie is so nonchalant about her age and you can see she is naturally beautiful, inside and out too! And Robert Downey Jr has gotten better with age! Both of them actually. Just really talented actors and Hollywood would not be the same without them.

Their chemistry is fun, but the intelligence level with these two is incomparable. She is so much more thoughtful in how she speaks and explains things, like how she is as a director. RDJ learned the hard way, glad he's recovered.
RDJ's intelligence is quite brilliant as well. He's an intuitive bringing deeper meaning connecting the dots. Big picture thinker. Jodie more of one idea explained sequentially well. Different styles, but both intelligent.

Kids now don’t realize how famous Jodie is. She was on the cover of every teen magazine in the 70’s. I would argue she has had a career much longer than most any other actor her age. Besides maybe Drew Barrymore and RDJ.

People get so caught up in this economy of distraction we’ve found ourselves in, people like yourself actually believe things are going on, when really there is very little of excitement or value.
The value these days comes from the underground; art, music, social interaction, human experience. Without phones. Without tv. You don’t have that, you may as well have nothing.

I remember when RDJ presented Jodie with her lifetime achievement award at the Golden Globes, about a decade back. Her speech then was amazingly moving-especially the part about her Mum. I still go back and listen to it from time to time.

Everybody knows this story by now, but RDJ was so whacked out abusing drugs during Home For the Holidays, Jodie pulled him aside to say “never mind this silly holiday comedy we’re trying to make, I am seriously worried that YOU MIGHT DIE!” I don’t know how RDJ charts his own recovery, but I believe it’s just starting with this movie & I do credit Jodie for helping save his life. And I think he knows it.

Jodie foster is not just an extraordinary actor, a genius, an intellectual, but also an extraordinarily loyal friend, who helped every friend of her's in their lowest of low point. She helped Robert Downey Jr. during his addiction crisis ruthlessly until he got back on the right track. This woman is quite possibly the most remarkable human alive.

Jodie Foster's Home For The Holidays (1995) starring Holly Hunter and Robert Downey Jr. is a movie that i watched every once in a while during vacation whether it's Christmas or Summer break, it's just a perfect movie to watch during vacation. Seeing them reuniting just for this interview makes me so happy 🤗

Home for the Holidays was just brilliant. It was almost like a play, that was perfectly orchestrated. I remember just being struck with how brilliantly, acted, written and directed it was. It captured perfectly the bittersweetness of family life and the normalization of non normal behavior because its familiar. It perfectly picked up on how family's each have role to play, and even as adults they regress to thier childhood roles when they gather again. The film was just perfection. And for a 30 year old, and relatively new director it was astounding.
I've always loved Jodie Foster. She is an amazing actor, genuine person, intelligent, beautiful, and avoided Hollywood scandals. Kept her private life private and never tried to be controversial or embarrassingly vain like a lot of currently aging actors. She isn't a celebrity, she's a bona fide star.🌟
Home for the Holidays has always been a favorite of mine, so cool to see them have this open honest conversation so many years later!
There’s something truly magical about people who get to catch up with one another after many many years go by. I’m not sure if this is an experience most normal people ever get to experience that often unfortunately. This was very pleasant getting to see two people get to share this experience. We should live in a world where this type of thing happens more often for regular people as well.

I grew up watching her and have always liked her work, and her character as a person , don't know her in person but by her interviews she is so captivating, and she was and is still beautiful, so glad Hollywood didn't ruin her.

I first became aware of Jody when I watched Hotel New Hampshire, and Robert completely blew my mind in Less Than Zero although I'd seen him in other films before. Been a hardcore fan of both of them eversince. Thank you for bringing them together, this is very exciting!
