Cillian is so gracious and polite to let Margot just speak without interruption. Love him❤

@@eryckaferretiz2424not true, just another excuse as ever to attack Margot out of spite. If you actually added up the amount of words each spoke there wouldn’t be a lot of difference.
Also just ignore the fact it was really a fascinating conversation between two actors where they asked each other really interesting questions, I actually learned a lot about how they both prepare as actors as well as other aspects of movie making.
The fact that nearly 7 million people have watch their conversation tells you that it was fascinating to watch.
I’ve never seen Cillian so relaxed, smile and laugh doing an interview before and it was actually Cillian that requested that he be paired with Margot.
@@bellabana He also added in his input when she was talking about Aussies watching American content, Greta's way of closing her eyes to listen to the dialogue, when asking her about her pink wardrobe, replicating/living up to Barbie's success etc. This man never looked annoyed at all in this interview and I am wondering why these people are getting triggered.

Apparently, it was Cillian's team that reached out to Variety asking for the pairing, and I find that super wholesome.

The line by Margot Robbie "Hopefully not the last time", at the end truly defined how much she admires Cillian as an Actor

I was in Ukraine when I watched Oppenheimer. In the middle of the movie, the air raid alarm at the cinema went off, so employees asked us to leave or stay at our own risk. Everyone decided to stay, and in 5 minutes, there was a scene of the test explosion. Jesus, that was something so immersive that even Nolan couldn't imagine

Strange how you can watch a movie nicely in Ukraine whereas in G a z a people can’t even do that, but people dare compare the ‘wars’.
I suffer from debilitating depression and anxiety, don't leave the house very often and struggle with crowds. I really wanted to overcome it and see Barbenheimer. I got on the bus, went to the cinema, got popcorn and watched Barbie. Adored it. Then got nachos with cheese and watched Oppenheimer. Adored it. Came home smiling and showed myself I can really do this. Start to live again. It was a great day for me.

I'm not a person to ever watch celebrities talk, I have to say, this conversation was so calming, pure and beautiful.
Cillian Murphy is such a legendary actor. I'm so glad he is finally getting the recognition that he deserves. Far too often, talentless, marketable, pretty faces get all of the attention, and it's refreshing to see true talent finally get the spotlight.
Talentless pretty face, such as?
A prime example is Brad Dourif. His scene in The Exorcist 3 is on another level. Brilliant in One Flew Over the Coocoos Nest. Criminally underrated actor that never seems to get the big parts.
Cillian doesn't look like he hates life in this. How delightful it is to see him smile and laugh through the conversation. He initiated this pairing and wanted to be there, please give him more chances to make his own choices. The result is seeing him truly happy to engage with someone.

I love cillian asking “is she happy or happier” cause like yeah not having an internal monologue would get rid of so much anxiety
Honestly that was a very intriguing question as someone who struggles with anxiety. I am curious how that woman deals with such emotions if she has no internal monologue. Would be a fascinating idea for a film.
@@Missjunebugfreaka lot more people lack internal monologue than you think. The thing is, we all assume our mind is similar to those of others, and because of that we don't really think about whether that actually is the case. It worked out great bc Margot's clearly a huge fan of his too: she knows the Peaky Blinders music choices, she speaks for all the fans who felt s6 was too open ended and want to know about the movie! Much better chemistry than interviews I’ve seen of him with Florence Pugh where she was making digs at his age

What a fascinating pairing… especially if you take the Barbenheimer out of it. These two almost couldn’t be more opposite in their outward personalities, levels of expressiveness, even what they say they value (besides work), but yet their obviously true love of film and “cinema” (as Cillian kept saying :) ), as well as their thoughtfulness, curiosity, intellect, and admiration for good work, just bonded them.
These Actors on Actors are amazing! I’ve always liked both of them, and it’s funny because they fascinate me for mostly different reasons. But one commonality they certainly share is their humility, passion, interest, and they’re both good listeners.
I love how Margot fangirled in such a great way, and I love how Cillian started coming out of his shell and you can see him forget this is a filmed conversation for a bit. :)

I’ve been absolutely enthralled by Cillian since I saw 28 Days Later in the theater, and I find it fascinating that he still covers his mouth so much when he’s being himself. He shies away in some way in every interview I’ve ever seen him in, and yet, he can play a villain so brilliantly. He’s just addictive and a joy to watch. Love all the praise he’s getting (and an Oscar nom and win, FINALLY!).
Cillian is such an eloquent speaker. The way he is able to express his thoughts in a simple and clear but profound manner amazes me every time I see his interviews.
It was such an obvious yet such a surprising pairing that actually worked insanely well. I've never seen Cillian as interested in an interview as in this one and we have to give it to Margot and her enthusiasm and obviously her being a fan of Cillian helped the conversation go as naturally as it did. I love cinema. 2023 was particularly rich in terms of films of various genres. Thanks to this, I have the impression that a lot of people have rediscovered the pleasure of going to see a film at the cinema, of spending several hours in a cinema with strangers but feeling the same emotions without always having the same opinions. You can see the respect between them, how Margot was a fan of Cillian’s work and, especially, how Cillian, who’s quite shy and discreet, totally opened up and was happy to be there with her. Whoever came up with this idea is a genius
I like how they are wearing the colors of their characters 😂

I love that they sound so interested and actually explain the process of getting the movie made. Brilliant pairing. Killian & Margot prove they are brilliant actors & talented interviewers.
Cillian Murphy is the name 👍🕊🧡
Such interviews educate the viewers at so many levels. The sincerity and calmness in telling the stories by them give insights into life.

Idk, I loved the movie and feel that it stands alone without a sequel. I think a good movie doesn't need a double unless it was designed to have one.

I didn't realise just how intelligent and business savvy Margot was. She's obviously a true force to the industry and I think her biggest days are ahead
No morals
I didn't realize how dedicated she was to the craft of acting.
She's clearly talented and had me sold as a powerhouse of an actress instead of "blonde bombshell" as soon as I, Tonya came out. What's awesome to see is how fucking hard working she is. She loves movies, acting, and very clearly just the creative arts. She's an incredibly smart, talendted and passionate person, and I hope to see some more awesome movies with her in them or even her as producer.
@@TimelesslyModernAlso her role in babylon is phenomenal
She created a gin company with her husband and a few of their friends which is getting a lot of accolades. It’s impressive to see someone at her age try her hand at so many different things and on that level. You definitely have to be savvy to pull it off in the way she has
I genuinely can’t begin to explain how much I love these two people
I love how Margot doesn‘t let Cillian get away with his modest attitude and really grills him in a charming way on subjects like his apparent unawareness of the memes and the reasons why Nolan loves to work with him.
You can really sense that she‘s 100% authentic and doesn‘t shy away from confidently stating that she knew that the movie was going to be a hit and that her performance was influential in convincing Matell.
Yessss that is so true. I love the way the conversation goes so beautifully between them and you learn so much as they talk
Youre a barbie too aren't you😂
yet it's still Barbie simping xP
Cillian is so likeable precisely because he's handsome and talented but modest.
Margot is appealing because she is beautiful and talented but comes across as down to earth and authentic.
Funny how people take her confidence as arrogance. It seems that women who are confident and unapologetic in who they are intimidate others.
Loved this conversation. Can tell how excited Margot is meeting Cillian, she keeps interrupting her own questions with more questions before he fully answers or what he is answering with her own similar thoughts 😊
Yes, her fangirling and being all excited was such a highlight of the interview! 🥹 And Killian obviously enjoying the convo, ugh such a good combo, so natural and you can tell they enjoyed each other company… They both liked each others questions AND answers, related to so much stuff and explained a lot and were so genuinely invested. It was so awesome to watch and experience.

Cillian rarely does interviews and it's nice to see him comfortable with Margot discussing their films.
The mutual respect allows such a great interaction and genuinely interesting questions and answers
Part of what made Barbenheimer so special to me was that it wasn't Barbie vs Oppenheimer but it merged them together and created a love-child/love-letter to cinema
I know right - I feel like if this happened in 2013, it would have been Barbie vs Oppenheimer and would've had a sexist undertone of "ew barbie is a girls thing" or whatever. I think the fact that it was seen as a duo just made me feel like something healed in the world.
A "love letter to cinema"? Jesus. Barbeinheimer isn't the triumph of cinema, it's the triumph of marketing. And conformism.
@@SCharlesDennicon ok send me an essay abt it
@@z-524 Well, it depends, what about your essay, you know, on why it would be a "love letter to cinema"? :D
You can tell these two are such committed artists. Their celebrity is just a byproduct.
Nolan tried to avoid mentioning Barbie during Oppenheimer's press tour due to his awkward stance with WB but positive events like this are what pop culture media should be about. Their being together shows how there never was any bad blood between filmmakers.
Why is it awkard with WB ?
@@itsbonkerjojo9028guessing Batman
@@itsbonkerjojo9028 Nolan had a fallout with Warner Bros. over the distribution of "Tenet" on HBO Max. He felt blindsided by Warner Bros' decision and it was this that he chose to go with Universal Pictures to distribute "Oppenheimer". Nolan was never a big fan of streaming services in the first place.
Nolan got screwed over by WB and he was one of their cash cows for over a decade.

Cillian is clearly a listener and waits his turn to respond thoughtfully, while Margot is clearly used to back-and-forth chit-chat.
Two conversation styles.
My one complaint with this (my opinion) is that I watched this for Cillian, so to have Margot consistently adding her input while he's trying to respond to a question regarding his experience was frustrating (especially because he is fairly reserved and not a limelight seeker)
I don't often like the "Actors on Actors" episodes (that I've seen--not a whole lot of them) but I completely enjoyed this one. Both Margot and Cillian take their craft so entirely seriously and treat it with such integrity. And they showed up in this episode with that same realness and integrity and respect for each other as well. So well done to both of you and to all who brought this episode together.

It's such a refreshing interview honestly. Cillian's mostly asking about how Margot took bold risks as a producer/actor for Barbie while Margot was just fangirling over Cillian's filmography. This was a good conversation
I'm amazed at how good Margot is at getting Cillian to come out of his stoic facade and just chat up a storm. They really got along very well.
I think it’s because he could relate to her in seeing how serious and passionate she is about her craft, and that made it more comfortable for him to open up because he’s the same way.
it's so fun to see them get more comfortable with each other throughout the interview and how interested they are in each others strategies and views, ahhh it's just so inspiring to see
