I thought Jennifer Aniston was the most humble.. constantly listening to and encouraging the others to speak. I don't think she spoke about herself at all, except to say in the end that she was blessed to be there at that table! So genuine and classy. Wow
Notice how much Jodi just listens, rather than speaks. She recently said it’s one of the things that changed when she hit 60. Child prodigy, great actor, veteran talent, and amazing woman, not mention a natural beauty, is the woman known as Foster.
Sofia and her ever lasting charm. Loved how honest she was with all the emotions she was feeling sitting at that table. Authenticity will get you a long way, and she is living proof of that. I really enjoyed this conversation! I always feel like I’m a fly on the wall or eavesdropping when watching this type of content. Brava!
Jodie Foster is a true treasure in the world of cinema. Her brilliance on screen is astonishing, but what truly sets her apart is her depth as a person. Besides being one of the most talented actresses of our generation, she is also an exemplar of integrity, dedication, and passion for her craft. Her ability to transform into every role she plays is extraordinary, and her commitment to bringing authenticity and truth to every character is evident in each of her performances. But what truly makes Jodie Foster remarkable is her compassionate heart and dedication to social justice. Her commitment to important issues extends beyond the world of entertainment, demonstrating that her inner beauty shines just as brightly as her outer beauty. Jodie Foster is truly an icon, both on screen and in real life.
I mostly admire how DIGNIFIED, and intelligent she is as a person. Such an extraordinary actress, and yet, never in the spotlight for any paparazzi caos. A very grounded person, who actually had all the opportunities to go towards the wrong path, but intelligently chose right.
@@MarCapa-ed5uvAbsolutely - great comment. Jodie Foster IS a legend and at her age, is the "elder statesmen" of the group. She is an actress AND a director, respected for both in her industry but is also well-liked for the reasons you mention. Jodie doesn't need to be "out there" - she has earned her respect in the industry and you reach a certain point in your career that your accomplishments and attitude carry you to make you beloved. That is where Jodie is at. She is not desperate, she has nothing to prove and is enjoying the tail end of her career. That said, they are all great and I don't see a competition, I see a "well-curated" roundtable, enough differences in them to make it interesting but they are all accomplished in different ways.
Cause she’s been pigeon holed into being the ditzy spicy Latina for decades. When someone is suppressed for a long span of time, they start to believe in the suppressing narrative.

These actresses that can't age gracefully or at least tastefully without looking so altered do not in any way support real women. Kudos to Jodi and Naomi for staying tasteful. Nothing against a bit of help, but too much tweaking just looks frankensteinish. I'd rather look like I need it than look like I've had it. There is a balance. Holllywood is fake as can be and is no friend to women. That's why I prefer European films where people still look like real people and not Barbie cutouts.
I love everyone at this table but Jodie Foster is in a league of her own and her name isn't mentioned first and formost. Sofia Vergara really is a treasure. She was probably the most real/vulnerable/unfiltered of all the talented women there. When she was talking about how she can't say no and the REALITY of her accent and the other women were trying to make her feel better by being all "aww, you can!" that felt oddly patronizing, but Sofia Vergara just kept speaking her piece. Really amazing and insightful woman.
You pretty summed up what I was thinking when she spoke through all that condescending action and words. Jennifer Aniston usually makes those sounds but I was shocked that the interviewer , Naomi and Nicole were doing the same.

It didn’t come across as patronising at all to me. It was a typical women’s discussion, everyone was listening and empathising. It’s very difficult to get that across without making emphatic noises. I bet if you asked Sofia she wouldn’t say she felt patronised.
Jodie Foster. Her natural face alone is a winner at that table. Honest and beautiful in her own uniqueness. There’s an authenticity in who she is that is tangibly real & it SHINES like a diamond above all the other women.

@@sarahv1316 Oh please! There is hardly a shred of true authenticity gathered at this table. That is why an older woman who is less afraid to embrace not only her natural face but her very real vulnerabilities, is a stand out. Hollywood is saturated with women who are about as real as mannequins. It is an unfortunate disease and I am not going to pretend it is worthy of celebrating. I will always champion anyone willing to be more fully themselves, warts & all. That will forever be the more compelling conversation. Anything else is just virtuous lip service.

What do you mean and more - you’ve got Jodie Foster! That woman has been acting since she was a child, just like Nicole Kidman. That’s really insulting to put Jodie Foster as “and more!” Jodie is a Legend! I’m not saying the others aren’t deserving. I’m an Aussie so I love Nic and Naomi. However, Nicole has had a stellar career and still does. Jennifer Anniston is fabulous. Sofia is funny and very vulnerable. To all the beautiful and talented ladies, thank you for sharing with us. What a great experience. ❤
The way the older actresses are looking at Brie Larson, seeing how she can be herself, and how strong she is at her age(probably they couldn't speak up as much and be that brave when they where her age), just the way they look at her like, wow we put the floor so she could walk, and we are so proud she is enjoying the things we fought for. That is the most precious thing
That's not how I see it. If you notice, the rest of the roundtable sort of jumped in to delicately relay how jumping into something you aren't comfortable with is how you grow. Brie definitely exudes a sort of "holier-than-thou" type of aura. That being said, it is important that individuals such as Brie Larson are paving the way for all performers to feel inspired to say "no" if they were to ever truly face a detrimental choice in their professional lives.
@tonyl5344 I agree, I feel they were more listening to her experience of it. And then saying how it can make you grow as an actress to challenge yourself where it is a bit uncomfortable. They also said they would say no if it was something that was totally out of the question, didn't they? The whole industry has probably changed during the latter years, and the environment and vibe on the sets might be slightly different. Where they ask you what you think, for example. Which is obviously much healthier and better 👏🏻
Amazing, talented actresses 🫡 what an honour to be part of that conversation. I’m proud of you Sofia, you made a name for yourself against all the obstacles and stereotypes as a newcomer in Hollywood. I love how brave and real she was to share her true feelings and also acknowledge the limitations that her “profile” as an actress has to deal with. She, at one point, couldn’t say NO to projects or uncomfortable demands because she would have no work.
Selma Hayek has done wonderfully well as a Latina in Hollywood.I think Sofia's drawback is her focus on her body rather than her talent as she showed when she said she didn't want to play a scientist. She's proud of her sexuality and her comic approach seems to be a way to try to make others comfortable with it. She has what it takes, she just limits herself thinking she's limited when she's really not limited.

Intelligent woman and aging naturally. Aniston has so many fillers and she never says anything of real interest. Sophia is gorgeous and so funny.
I love that Jodie brought up the introvert thing because that's exactly how I think it would be on a film set as an introvert. I love an introverted queen!
Yes, I really felt that part about having to bring so much energy to a comedy. I would be exhausted too. I think if I were an actor, I’d find drama easier like she does.

Wow, the compassion with Jennifer & Naomi when Sofia started speaking talking about her realization & slight insecurity about not knowing much about acting & how she navigates her acting process & career, was verrry obvious. Jodie Foster is a true treasure in the world of cinema. Her brilliance on screen is astonishing, but what truly sets her apart is her depth as a person. Besides being one of the most talented actresses of our generation, she is also an exemplar of integrity, dedication, and passion for her craft.
Wow Sofia Vergara doesn't even realize how talented of an actress she is

These actresses that can't age gracefully or at least tastefully without looking so altered do not in any way support real women. Kudos to Jodi and Naomi for staying tasteful. Nothing against a bit of help, but too much tweaking just looks frankensteinish. I'd rather look like I need it than look like I've had it. There is a balance. When Jodie speaks you listen....she just has that authority about her.
I mainly wanted to hear Jody Foster speak. She’s so smart and talented. I like the fact that she’s an introvert as well
The way the older actresses are looking at Brie Larson, seeing how she can be herself, and how strong she is at her age(probably they couldn't speak up as much and be that brave when they where her age), just the way they look at her like, wow we put the floor so she could walk, and we are so proud she is enjoying the things we fought for.
Sofia's speaking voice is so warm and fun and engaging and I just want to hear her tell her stories and talk about her experiences
I loved Anna Sawai's story. It brought tears to my eyes. Love Jodi Foster! Nicole Kidman is an amazing actress, truly! And Sofia's realness is refreshing!
