Dude, do you really think all of the jedi could have been wiped out in one event? Come on! 1% of the 10,000 Jedi in the galaxy is 100. A 2% survival rate is more than realistic. Even with the inquisitors running around 50 - 60 Jedi/Force users surviving to the age of rebellion is totally possible.
I’ll add to that Ventress wasn’t a Jedi and assumed dead, Ahsoka used the same excuse to avoid the clones killing her she’s not a Jedi anymore so Order 66 doesn’t work
You do realise that they didn't dance or skip around Midichlorians. Ventress actually said the word in the episode. You did watch it, Ryan? Right?
You didn't dead name anyone because you can't change your gender, Ryan.
@@UscruOutlaw 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Seeing ventresss came back this episode after 11 year since her last appearance in the clone wars ,and kick major ass, beating out the batch in meelee combat, and even outwitting their blaster fire is a dream come true.
Dont say it's 11 years since we last saw her, that makes me feel old 😂
Yes but as someone who meant to get around to reading dark disciple… makes me never want to get around to reading the canon books
Tbh I didn’t like that book at all it was very boring I deleted it on my autobook
Somehow Ventress returned
I'm not mad Ventress is back in Star Wars, she's a great character. She was definitely going easy on the BB she could have easily force choked all of them at once but she clearly didn't want to kill or hurt them permanently.
“Your an odd little clone.”
She adores Omega. She just won’t admit it 😂
Omega's only chance to live othrwise she is destined to become some DNA extract for Palpi
*You're
Like so many. Omega wins them all over
Omega wants everyone to get along @@lcflngn
Ventress is amazing. Such a great, and at times tragic, backstory.
There’s a very simple answer to how Ventress is alive… the dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.
I think it was those sacred waters from her village that kept her alive,
she does say "I've got a few lives left"
You say that Asajj dances around the the M-Count explanation but she literally says Midichlorians like 5 seconds later
I love how it showed ventress struggling with the light side. Reaching out to those creatures seemed harder for her than holding wrecker up by the throat.
Lol great observation!
Asajj having a couple of lives fits the motif of the snake since many cultures across the world saw the snake as a symbol of rebirth, regeneration, and resurrection.
Ngl I thought it was meant cause she’s cat coded
@@yeahokbuddy2510Reminded me of Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman
Remember that Ventress's shoulder from Clone Wars in Season 5 has a Snake symbol too
Seeing Ventress again on screen after a whole decade was such a treat. I can’t wait to finally see her in live-action.
...? Hate to break it to you but as of right now she is NOT coming to live action
@@weppon5266 not yet. But you also have to remember the pattern here. Cad Bane hadn’t been seen in years, then he suddenly returned again, and not too long after that, he appeared in live action for the first time. The same thing will happen with Ventress.
I hope she furthers the plot significantly
@@theawesomeman9821same here with them confirming she’s still alive in the Original Trilogy era u know what has to be done now at least for me they gotta make it happen. Ventress and Luke meeting at some point I wanna see her reaction to seeing that Anakin had a son 😂 and her telling him stories of how she used to whoop his daddies ass along with Obi-Wan 😂😂😂
Jada Pickett isn't available
Ventress was already epic, but now this "neutral" version of Ventress with the yellow saber makes her waaaayyy more epic!!
Seeing pabu cloud covered ,and not bright and cheery as it usually is scene is definitely forewarning shits gonna get real next week!
I’m worried, since I want to move to Pabu
I hope that our heros aren’t there when The Empire comes hopefully it sends clones and doesn’t occupy the city.
Just a reminder next week is a two parter, which usually means shit goes down
Bruh, the reason she sent omega away was because she didn’t want her to see them fight each other. Notice Hunter didn’t tell her to stay either
Yeah I agree
Same bru 😂
I think it served both purposes - as a test, AND to get some alone time with the Batch.
Omg I’m like 66 don’t Kill me 😢😂
Ventress and Crosshair are a match made in heaven lol
a fun touch i noticed is that quinlans episode in the clone wars was season 3, episode 9. and here, ventress appears in season 3, episode 9!
that’s a great tip of the hat
I love how Ventress is (re)introduced in a jumpscare, that’s such as Ventress moment I love it.
Ventress teamed up with Kenobi when she went to collect the bounty on Savage before she teamed up with Ahsoka
Yes,then she and Kenobi barely escaped savage and maul
I don't need to know how she came back. They gave me enough with the line about having more lives.
Ventress would be a great character to focus on for Season 2 of Tales of the Jedi
Man I wish Clone Wars wasnt cancelled and we got to Ventress' and Maul's arcs end in proper fashion
I was glad to hear them say midi-chlorians again. I'd like to see how Ventress kept her bent lightsaber, but turned it yellow. Omega was definitely channeling Luke.
I had no idea there was such a dark dish at the theme park.
We know about bleeding and purifying a crystal, I wonder if there is some way to make it yellow... or, the less fun way, is she got the yellow crystal either by finding it or taking it from somewhere lol
Me too. It's part of canon and shouldn't be avoided due to a minority of fans hating it's inclusion
@@UscruOutlaw I think the beauty of star wars is that literally anything can happen. Exploring more stories (and creating new ones) is such a healthy thing. Also, the VA for ventress confirmed her story will continue being told in the future so that's awesome
@@lemonzef yeah, it's pretty obvious she will be getting her own series. I just don't want it to be her training omega. I'd prefer an entirely different story for her re-emergence back into the franchise
@@UscruOutlaw I've been thinking.. will she get her own series, a few episodes on Ahsoka, or a decent amount of screen time in the mandoverse movies.. I'd love her to get her own show and I'd also love to see her interacting with Ahsoka all there years later. Star wars is truly giving us so much good content
Im guessing that either omega is not force sensitive, but some anomaly in her genetics allow her body to receive the a M- count transplant or omega is like sabine ,and possibly han solo a slightly higher force sensitivity than most people but ,not high enough to attract the attention of the jedi order or an inquistor. Because her M- count is slightly elevated her body receives the transplants. I dont think ventress actually lied she just didnt see evidence of M- count that would be high enough to interest the empire.
This. They never said her blood had a high m count, only that it accepts an m count transfer without much deference
That would explain plenty, actually. Since the problem with the empire is it can't sustain the clone without it deteriorating. Omega is key to that problem
it was confirmed omega has a high count, when she said if omega did have a high m count she would have to be taken away in a way suggesting she lied to omega about it
Asajj Ventresses first appearance was in the 2003 Dark Horse Comic Star Wars Jedi Mace Windu. A full 8 months earlier than her appearance in Tartakovski's Clone Wars.
quick side note. 19:30
cal kestis did not found the hiddend path. that was more cere together with other surviving jedi or force sensitivie tragets of the empire
The title of the episode is The Harbinger, which means a sign of things to come. Unless Asajj returns in the next coming episodes, which doesn't seem likely after she said our business is finished here. It seems obvious that a spin-off is now set up where Omega will go off with Asajj to start training in the Force at the end of the season.
That's exactly what I was thinking!
I swear to god, fans will try to make a spin off series from every episode 😂
@yeahokbuddy2510 Disney can and will milk every popular character from star wars dry until we hate them.
@@EC_Floccoyup it’s the way
Little pet peeve of mine is that force-sensitive characters ability to sense each other’s strength in the force is always based on the needs of the story in the moment. Sometimes characters can feel each other’s presence and sometimes they can just sneak up on each other.
Can we rally behind a Jason Mamoa depiction of Quinlan Vos IN LIVE ACTION PLEASE???
The Jedi pardoned her, but not the senate, which is who the cones would technically be more loyal to.
This was one of my favorite episodes. It was sooo good! I wasn't a huge Ventress fan before but she's always been fascinating and this totally added more depth to an already great character.
Also, Ventress told Omega to go get the flower petal so she wouldn't see her fighting her brothers.
Great Video!
I loved seeing Ventress in this. I am so glad she’s back!
Prediction is Bad Batch are gonna sacrifice themselves and in that, they tell Omega to go with Ventress
I always felt like Omega would be the only one left by the end. Also got a feeling about this as well.
Naw
Nooooo!
This was my thought as well, I imagined each of them dying valiantly to protect Omega until Hunter's left and gives her a final goodbye telling her to go with Ventress, maybe it won't be exactly like that but I fear that Tech won't be the only Clone Force 99 death
@@blakcatmusic I can see it now, she is refusing and Hunter hits her with an "good soldiers follow orders" after a heartfelt speech.
Ventress said the word "midichlorian" you missed it!!!
Said the same thing out loud lol
but she says the word midi-chlorians literally 1 minute later
Yeah this...
The thing about Kylo Ren's fight with Rey that doesn't make sense is that him is being able to fight at all after being hit with Chwewie's bow. Ourside of the help she gets from The Force, there are several reasons she is able to do what she does there.
1st, unlike Luke, she was already a very good mele weapon fighter. 2nd Kylo is extremely wounded and running on fumes. 3rd, as Snoke points out, his head was also in ruins as killing his father did the opposite to what he had hoped. 4th, you dont win anything in Star Wars if The Force doesn't want you to, and we already know The Force chose Rey, so it was on her side tipping those other things even further in her favour.
Yeah, I always thought his massive injury was the explanation. Hadn't thought of the emotional turmoil of patricide.
This might be a reach but the musical note that played when Ventress tells the batch “The Empire is more dangerous than you can possibly fathom” sounds like the same one from when kid Ahsoka tells WBW Anakin he was more powerful and dangerous than anyone imagined.
How many times have they been in danger from a large monster? I've lost count.
This episode is the first time I realized how much the island on Pabu (town of Pabu?) resembles Mount Tantiss. Conal mountain with a ring near the top.
I actually thought it was for a minute.
I never realised that
If ventress and maul teamed up, that would've been very fun
Ventress sounds so skilled, seductive and deathly at the same time.... looking for real life counterpart 🤷🏾♂️ lol
I thought her and Crosshair would be a cute couple 😂
Aren't we all.
She'd be perfect for crosshair @@Jorizzle22
@@Jorizzle22omg me too. similar delivery but nuanced enough to challenge each other. I’d be more than okay with this arc.
great recap! i love how you keep star wars fun compared to so many other RUclipsrs who are negative all the time. and your galaxy's edge fish review was perfect! haha.
Thanks for bringing 2003 clone wars that series is some of the most underrated Star Wars content ever 😊
I agree there are a lot of Jedi survivors of the purge but even if only 0.5% of them survived there would be 50 still around. So not that ridiculous really.
And it's hard to believe order 66 would have been that efficient.
Kylo is literally bleeding and emotional from killing Han. I get it, but also it's not because Rey is super skilled with a lightsaber automatically.
RE: The Rey rant. I assumed "The Force Awakens" implied that the Force as a living entity took a more active role in Rey and supercharged them with the force because they needed a new champion. Much like the Force created Anakin as a virgin birth to fill a similar role. They aren't regular jedi they are natures selected outliers.
I think Ventriss was testing Omega's patience.
If she was quick to anger then probable Sith, if she remained calm (sort of) then jedi, or someone in the middle like her.
Also it's ironic that she knows how to meditate and explain it to crosshair but when she tries it with Ventress there is nothing...
Also, kyber crystal trials are in caves.
This is my favorite video of yours. And Doug was amazing as always
They should make dark disciple arc in season 2 of tales of the jedi
I'd rather just keep the book.
Would have to cut down so much from the book if they want to fit them in the small episodes TOTJ had.
It should be the next animated series!
ventress did straight up say "midichlorian count" tho
I understand the theory about Crosshair not being proficient in hand to hand combat, but from watching that episode, he held on with her longer than Hunter or Wrecker did. I mean he was quick and seemed to have good placement of hits. Also WHAT happened to their armor?? Hunter looks goofy and Crosshair looks plain lol. Maybe it’s just a lower shell?
The FISH bit had me dying. Your writers are amazing 🤣
He still can't get over Rey beating Kylo in Force Awakens.... She fought a severely injured Kylo (since shot through stomach by Chewy's crossbow - which was shown earlier in movie on how much damage a single shot of it can do).
Great video! I enjoyed it. Thank you.👍🏾
SECRET TUNNEL, secret tunnel
Through the mountain
Damn 1 min after i watched the episode. great timing.
I've loved seeing Ventress' arc throughout the Clone Wars and into Bad Batch. Now if we could only get a Tales of the Jedi episode recounting the Dark Disciple story. or maybe Asajj Ventress animated show anyone?
Midichlorians are the powerhouse of the Cell
10:57 the other part of the scene in Empire Strikes Back when Yoda asks Luke to move the X-Wing is that, when Luke starts to lift it Yoda is surprised in Luke’s ability to lift it at all.
Next week is gonna be epix. Two Episodes😊😊
I was happy to see ventress again but I want young boba fett back so much. Seeing boba fett and the bad batch crew would be so interesting 😢
Some of that fight gave me vibes of when Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli were getting ready to attack Gandalf in the forest
15:31 Mmm, revenge tastes like flounder.
What did you think of Ventress's Return?
moar.
If they do not give us a Quinlan Voss reference at some point I'm going to be upset at her return.
I honestly thought they would bring her back in Ahsoka because the witches came back to dothameer where her body was.
It was so cool seeing asajj again her interaction with omega ,and her brothers shows how much she has changed, and evolved.
to train rival for ahsoka apprentice
Love it. Killing her off in a side novel felt like a waste, it was a good story but with a TV character as popular as Ventress shouldn't have their story wrapped up in a novel (or maybe I'm just biased against Golden).
Crowley randomly appears at 8:26 which is sureley a surprise, but a welcome one
I appreciated how Omega didn't sell out Gungi.
What are you talking about? She had NO REASON to even talk about Gungi, let alone give anyone info about him. This comment literally makes no sense.
Omega ain’t no snitch on her Jewish brothers
Outstanding!!!
Ventress, Omega, Rex and the surviving Clones will make an interesting animated series. Come on Dave, DO IT!
“I have a few lives left” … so does Tech!foreshadowing hopefully 🤞
I don’t like rocks. They’re wet and slippery and they just sit there.
watching new characters we’ve come to know and love meet up with established characters we’ve known for a long time is such a treat, they really nailed ventress and omega’s dynamic well
fun fact. the author Christie Golden also wrote many of the World of Warcraft books and they are some of the best stories ive read.
So many good books, Arthas and Sylvanas books were great insights of the characters.
Asajj executes a perfect armbar during her hand-to-hand combat with the Batch. Also, she should test Batcher - the most force-sensitive of the group!
What a great episode! It was awesome to see Ventress back. One of my favorite characters. I loved how she interacted with Omega and kicked Bad Batch ass. LOL Great video Ryan and Doug
When Ventress covered Omegas mouth and made her shut up, she became the greatest character in show history!!!
I was super glad to see Ventress.
She was only “mostly dead” which means “a little Alive!”
Great episode, good to see Ventress. She keeps on growing on me and I hope we get more chances for her go keep growing.
You people complaining about the thumbnail realize that Ventress was in the official trailer for this season right? The fact that she was coming back tipped MOST people off that Fennec was talking to her last week so it's not really a spoiler since the thumbnail doesn't really tell you if she is friend or foe.
Hunter blatantly calling Ventress a War Criminal, is a prime example of how detached the Clones were from politics and the kinds of decisions regarding pardons. Especially when it’s someone who’s killed countless clones
Yeah I loved that choice of wording! Part of what I've enjoyed about this series is the straightforward and Jedi-free perspective (like "Andor" as well). Anything that happens with the Jedi and Sith are completely off the Bad Batch's radar. And no doubt the collateral damage caused by Ventress would qualify as war crimes.
I was thinking they might be setting up a spin-off show for Ventress and Omega. Ventress(Master) and Omega(apprentice) training to balance light and dark uses. Maybe she reunites with Quinlan in the Bad Batch and he joins up with them. Many think there could be a spin-off show for Rex, Wolf, and Gregor(maybe Cody too).
I hope they just don't kill off all the Bad Batch members tho. I'll take Crosshairs or Hunter to live thru the finale.
'"Also, the fish is sustainable..."
Kudos.
I don’t think she’s strong in the force. I think her blood can be used to clone a force sensitive (emperor). They worded it indirectly in one of the episodes(with the blood tests)
Somehow ventress has returned
as a correction, cal diddnt found the jedi path, he was introduced to it by cere who was introduced to it by merrin who connected with it on her travels. all cal's part in it was finding a far safer world to take people to then the various outposts they allready were useing (like the one cere was at on jedda)
Based on your multiple recommendations of this book, I bought an audio version and am about half way through. It is indeed great.
It's very easy to imagine the action (I guess being based on a partially-completed animation helps).
It probably won’t happen but I would LOVE to see Vos and Ventress together in canon
You had me at additional notes @ 10:13
I've been watching the clone wars ever since it started and I was in first grade now I'm 21. I still can't believe how far this series has come!!
Good episode but having her get the flower was to get rid of her for a lil bit !
Blue flower, red thorns. Blue flower, red thorns! 😂
The best 30 min of Star-Wars Ever!!
Btw, it was not the Buffer Fish that Quinlan killed on Dathomir, it was the “Sleeper”, an ancient, innocent being with lavender eyes that existed in a dreamlike state.
so glad to have your BB ep. reviews, your nemesis Heavy Spoilers stopped doing so at ep. 4 of this FINALE season. Another great review as always.
Omega's second task (the flower) was just to get her out of the way
Ventress was in the 2005 game Star Wars battlefront 2, which was before the clone wars 2008.
The game version was based off of the Cartoon Network partially cannon clone wars which was mentioned, from 03-05.
I remember the character in game, but never knew her until a few years ago when I first watched the animated clone wars 2008
Great analysis, as always! I'm surprised, though, given how much you referenced From a Certain Point of View during Ahsoka, that you didn't mention the similarity of this episode to Nnedi Okorafor's "The Baptist." I think it would make a lot of sense that, like Omi the Trash Squid, this Vrathean is force sensitive and arrived to baptize Omega!
I never actually believed she was talking to Boba. As soon as Fennic started talking I was excited for this return.
Thanks Ryan And Doug👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Ventress return is so awesome. She's easily one of my favorite characters from the clone war.
I thought it was relevant that Ventress specifically said that those with a high M-count were *BELIEVED* to be more capable of wielding the Force.
Thanks to Ryan, Harriet, Randolf and Lee! 💥
That comment to the fish bit 😂
