Here's a guide on how to get all your SPECIAL stats to 20+ at the start of the game: ruclips.net/video/nINcumfe1X8/видео.html I explained this badly in the video, so here's the SPECIAL book Guide: You can indeed raise your attributes over 10 with the SPECIAL book, but you must first reduce your attribute to make it available as an option. For example if you wanted 11 intelligence: you would first get a 10 in intelligence, then you would drink whiskey to temporarily reduce your intelligence by -1, you would then use the SPECIAL book so you can raise your intelligence by +1. Once the whiskey effects wear off you will now have 11 intelligence. If you now get the intelligence bobblehead you can reach 12 intelligence. Some stats can be pushed even higher but I could do a whole separate video about that.
Some things missing: - Start with Charisma 6. You find a Suit and a Headgear (Hat+Glasses) that add an onverall +4 to it so you can pass all Speechchecks early (! important to get Wolfgang to stand down and let it go - else, he is a very tough to beat Opponent on early Survival and even in Powerarmor !). If on Survival (what you should not normally when getting Info out of Vids like this) Strengh is also a pretty important Stat tu have from the Beginning - at least enough to get the Strong Back Perk (STR:6). Also, mind that "Steady Aim" (STR:7) adds to your Chance to Hit in VATS mode when shooting from the Hip aka use Pistols and Guns without having Scopes mounted (which also reduces the AP-Usage significantly). I normally start with a S.P.E.C.I.A.L. 7/4/1/6/4/3/3 to get Lockpick and HAcking, the Overall Damage+ from Luck and a VATS Pistolsniper Build, boosting the required Stats asap - but you also can entirely drop Perception to get Int 6 to do "Science" and instantly go for Energyweapons (can all converted between Rifle and Pistol as you like). - Do NEVER make Purified Water from Dirtyx Water. *NEVER.* Dirty Water is a main ingredient for many good basic Recipes, and you only get it by filling empty Bottles in "unclean" Watersources as Puddles, Lakes and Rivers. You can get an endless Supply of Purified Water very Easy - via Settlement mode and building. Just build Waterpumps - even the manually used ones will generate it over Time (every few Days, using them ingame does not speed it up). Also, you can build a Wallmounted Water Fountain to drink from that is concidred a "clean" Watersource for you on use (does not count to Water Supply towards Settlers). If you scrap the whole Sanctuary, you will find enough to make a few Waterpumps to create at least 20-50 Water every few Days and you also can do it (if keeping them unconnected) the same for the RR Station. So recycle the shit out of thoose two at least to get a Base - as the loot he shows is pretty incompatible with your Carry weight in Survival - and you want a place to cook,. sleep and eat safeley anyway. - Some Spots - differs every Game which - are "respawning", others not. I had good luck every Time with the first House into Concord - where you find Bobby Pins and a Safe as well as a Medkit to loot. Memorize thoose to revisit them. - Build a Settlement in Sanctuary. It takes a lot of Time, I know. But, that makes Carla visit Sanctuary after you met her, a wandering Merchant who is one f the early two Merchants you get acess to easy. The second is Trudy in the Diner a bit south to Concord on the way to the Starlight Movie Theatre. Just clean up the mess with Wolfgang, a Chems Dealer, peacefully. - The Starlight Theatre is the best Settlement to travel around from in the early to mid-Game, as there are 4 concurrent Spawnpoints around it you can farm repeatedly and it offers a lot of free Space - just scrap the Radioactive Barrels to make the "irradiated Zone" around the Pond to disappear. Also, it is pretty close to all the Mission Points erly on, from the Brotherhood to the Railroad. - Also, make haste to get a Contamination Arc build - it sets the Rads to 0 when walkingt through it when Active. This Game - even the whole Minutemen Arc - is about how important CVivilisation is, cooperating with others and working together. Sending out Scavengers for example will make the surrounding have less encounters, but add to the risk of Raider attacks (at least in my expe3rience). Mitigate that by a decent Defenbse Value. There is no need to Tower Defense the shit out of the Game, as that does usually not work - but having a Wall between the Settlement and the Raiders spawns is pretty good imho. Does not prevent or autosolve Attacks (you gotta take care or it is a loss), but it helps to take care of them a lot. I prefer to put my Guns in a central Spot where they can shoot at the Entrance from inside - to chokepoint the Raiders into it. Fuck the Settlers and Guards that run and seek to die, it is up to them to do so and you can not prevent it. Second best optiopn is to secure the Spawns with turrets - but that often resulted in a damaged Turretarray for me while "Tanking Settlers and DDing Turrets" was the cheapest, most viable Way. Finally, build Merchants. That is your Goal - Arms and Ammunitions Dealers in your Bases. They may Share one Inventory, but provide a good Supply of Ammo for "free" aka your produced purified Water.
Whenever I'm on a power armor, I take note when a fusion core is about to deplete and remove it when it's 1% left. I can trade/sell those 1% cores at full price.
My *_TOP TIPS_* (especially _Survival Mode_ )---> --> _Codsworth_ is available as a companion without first needing to free *Preston* . Simply enter _Concord_ far enough that Preston and the Raiders start fighting, return to Sanctuary, and he can be hired. Taking him along to free *Preston* can give some _affinity boosts_ . _Codsworth_ will give you a Purified Water on a continual basis just by talking with him, making him a solid companion for _Survival Players_ . --> *_Need Caps?_* Stop at nearby *Abernathy Farm* , under the Power Pylon. Grab the 9 Melons, then speak with the daughter _Lucy_ . Keep picking the top dialogue choice about caps as currency. This will trigger an Easy speech check, and she will offer to buy Melons for 5 caps instead of 3. She can buy every Melon you have, on an ongoing basis, which can be lucrative if you turn Sanctuary into a Melon farm. However, if you make the Farm a settlement, she stops buying them. --> *_Survival Players_* , besides planting *Tato* , *Mutfruit* and *Corn* for _Adhesive_ , plant *Razorgrain* . Cook *1 Razorgrain /1 Dirty Water* to make rad-free _Noodle Cups_ . They lower thirst one level, and hunger half a level. Check wandering vendor _Trashcan Carla_ and _Trudy at Drumlin Diner_ , South of Concord. Or find randomly as loot. --> *_Weapon and Armor modifications_* can be _stripped and swapped_ onto your better gear. You can _remove armor mods_ for free, but you will have to _build a new gun mod_ from components. Even without Gun Nut, you can build the base level gun mod, which will put the previously attached modification into your inventory, and put onto your new hotness. --> _Survival Players_ should build *15 more water supply than they have settlers* , minimum. Take out the water from the Workshop *every day* , and store it separately in another container. New Purified Water will be added every day *_if_* there’s little to no water already in the workshop. If you build a large enough water purification operation, a huge amount can get added daily. Use this for your travels, or stockpile, and sell the surplus. --> _Survival Mode_ features *Diseases* , acquired numerous ways. You can take *Antibiotics* , visit a *Doctor* , or *wait* until they go away eventually. Each disease has _different durations_ , lasting from *2-7 days* . The most debilitating are _Weakness_ (receive +20% damage), and _Infection_ (take damage over time, though it won’t kill you, will leave you with a sliver of health). These two diseases take *2.5 days* to go away. Find something safe to do, like decorating Sanctuary, or sleep it off. Sleeping causes a _disease check_ , so you might get sick again, but anything is better than Weakness or Infection. *Early game* , when resources are tight, you might be better off saving Antibiotics just in case for the debilitating diseases, and living with the others until they go away. -->Want to play _Survival Mode_ , but aren’t sure what starting SPECIAL to use? I’ve found the first 10-12 levels to be the hardest, and it’s worth going for strong combat skills first, and then flesh out your build. *Melee Builds* , get _Rooted_ (STR9) and _Blitz_ (AGI9) immediately. *9,1,4,3,1,9,1* _(Book END)_ . *VATS Guns* get _Penetrator_ (PER9) and _Concentrated Fire_ (PER10). *1,9,3,3,3,7,2* _(Book AGI)_ . You’ll get the *Perception Bobblehead* when you free Preston, so have a point saved, and put into Concentrated Fire mid-rescue. --> _Survival Mode_ players should seriously consider not using Power Armor. _Swimming_ is Survival’s Fast Travel. You’ll get around much faster and safer. *_Aquaboy/girl perk_* will save you a ton of time! Without spoiling, the game gives you a quick means of crossing the map as you do the main story, if you dabble with the *Brotherhood of Steel* . --> _New Players_ : *Idiot Savant* isn’t a good choice for first timers. Enemies scale with you. You need to have good gear to survive, and easy and fast XP can leave you without enough time to explore and find good gear before the bad guys start hitting even harder. *You’ll get plenty of levels, faster than you think, even at 1 INT* . Growing powerful isn’t only a matter of levels. Having 1 INT will give you plenty of time to find what you need to survive. *You’ll be stronger if you have great gear when you pop your next level*. Take it easy, don’t rush, go slow, and you’ll be better for it. --> _Pass every speech check_ with *11 CHR* , 100%! Low CHR builds, don’t fret: assemble a 3-piece _CHR set of clothes_ . *Hat/glasses/suit* , for _+4_ . Most *Alcohol* adds _+1_ . Find *Daytripper* _+3_ . Better yet, craft *Grape Mentats* at a Chemistry Station _+5_ . There’s other ways, but with these, that’s a +13 buff already. *Bonus!* Your companion will come to your side and stay there if you crouch.
Also for Trashcan Carla. When you first meet her flirt with her saying you are just looking for love she will laugh and say her lovin days are over but say it made her day and give you a permanent discount on stuff you buy from her.
Absolutely invaluable tutorial. I'm a level 25, and there's so much I'd missed around Sanctuary that I'm now going to do, plus loads of tips that I wish I knew sooner 😂
Alternative for using the Sentry: Easy early access to locations, powerful weapons: NE from Sanctuary at the Robotics Disposal eject sentry bot software, run with your pipboy, activate sentry then set defensive protocol to South Boston Checkpoint and follow. He goes to Tenpines Bluff, Cambridge (at Red Rocket Gas Station quickly grab sniper rifle from the roof), goes to Covenant, smacks through Boston... for me it disappeared near Diamond City at the bridge just after the Polymer Labs (easy mission inside lszer giving superb Power Armour chest piece). You can just walk in from that bridge to DC. Covenant has easy mission later too to missing caravan near with combat rifle. If you ever make it SE from Diamond City at the S B Military Checkpoint there's a sniper gun on the roof and a power armour (hack rank2 needed). If the Sentry is there self destuct, plan B Kill it just before he disappears at the bridge with boat leading to Diamond City (had 30% hp but don't need to combat kill it, just self destruct him)
For survival, remember to grab all the cola/beer/milk bottles in Sanctuary, you can haul back to vault 111 and fill them all in the sink. That's a pretty easy and reliable way to get purified water, both for consumption and selling to vendors. And if you get advanced lockpicking in the earliest levels, you get access to a bunch of the safes in both Sanctuary and Concord, as well as a locked room in the Speakeasy with a steamer trunk, ammo and potentially a shotgun.
Keep all pre-war money, cigar boxes and cigarette boxes on you for bartering. They can be easily found off of Ghouls or in most places that have cigarette dispensers. Most raider settlements will have a lot laying around. They are a good alternative for those who are lacking the caps. Pre-war money doesn't have any weight so you can carry as much of it on you as you want. All of them are under the Junk tab so make sure you collect them from your settlements in case you stored them accidentally.
Walton Goggins is the best character in my opinion. "Thou shall get side-tracked by bullshit every god damn time" That was such a relatable line for anyone who has played the games.
I haven't played the game since it came out back in the day, but I made it way too easy for myself. Somehow I got lucky while crafting and upgrading my weapons and got the "Explosive Ammo" perk on a machine gun, which turned it into a rapid fire grenade launcher that would just shred anything I pointed it at, even the biggest, baddest enemies. The only problem was that I sometimes blew myself up when using it in small rooms.
I've played about 4000 hours of FO4, it's probably my favourite game, just wandering around doing stuff, trying new builds, building settlements etc, and I still learned about 5 or more things from this video I didn't know about. It's the map that keeps on giving!
@@dennisrheaume4607 There's lots of RUclips videos to watch how to install mods. It's not that complicated on PC, a bit more on consoles. What do you play on? If it's PC I can point you in the right direction.
Got one more tip to add when your fusion cores are about to run out replace them as you can still get a good price for them even with 1% charge left but if u don’t it will automatically replace it
I just started playing on PS5 for the first time. I’m addicted. I was able to complete the brotherhood of steel quest where they allow me to join. Should I do it ?!!
For the People who want to play survival. Do not use dirty water for purified water. Use dirty water for noodle cups or other recipes. Noodle cups are really good for food. You just need razorgrain and dirty water. Then later use mirelurk cake with razorgrain oil mirelurk meat and eggs. It's super effective and only weighs 0.1 lbs per cake
Easy caps for new players trick!!! Soon as possible. In your settlement, build water purifiers. A lot of water purifiers. The water purifiers will need a power source so you also need to build a generator first then connect the generator to the water purifiers. Water purifiers give purified water. You can sell for a whopping 20+ caps per bottle. You can get the purified water from the workshop. Soon as there is purified water in the workshop, remove it and transfer to another container. Now. Important. HOW TO MAKE THE WATER RESPAWN??? Many people have the misconception that water respawns every in-game day, or every half hour. They are all wrong. Water respawns every time you get into combat or activate a random enemy encounter. The moment you leave your village and get ambushed by raiders or get into combat in a random scenario is the moment your workshop fills with water. I know of this because I always become a water conglomerate in my gameplays, getting an easy 450-700+ purified water, each bottle selling for 27 caps (charisma level raised). So that's basically 450*27= whatever amount of caps you get. Trade with diamond city and purchase material shipments to build even more water purifiers. When you're out of space to build water purifiers in sanctuary, follow the Minutemen quest line and conquer "The Castle" or the fort, I forgot the other names it had. This has way more water space than sanctuary and can get you an insane amount of additional water. Also when trading water. No need to bring all 450 water bottles with you. Only bring enough water bottles to enough vendors you can trade with. Vendors have a limited amount of caps. So if you sell 450 bottles to a vendor who only has 1200 caps, you only get 1200 caps, instead of the full cap potential of 450 bottles of water. Happy trading!!
Yup , when you scrap everything in Sanctuary & Red Rocket , and power level with 3 intelligence that is required for gun nut , you will leave Sanctuary on 18th level ... but bullet proof build is S1 , P6 , E5 , C3 , I3 , A9 , L5 = 21p from start + special book + 5 points from leveling = 11p left for Idiot savant , gunslinger , Sandman , Aqua boy , gun nut ... skip sanctuary , just rush to dance , assist him in killing ghouls , then grab military fatigues , run to river , and swim north and enter old north church , meet freaks from railroad , option swim to spectacle island for luck booblehead (you are fast enough to out run enything there and you can take island no issue) , then swim back to same way , and run to meet Decon , do mission and you have Deliverer invest in stealth build and you are set for all game , you can basically skip gun nut to level 50 because on survival to that level Deliverer cause no issues so there is no need to upgrate , I play loot of survival and starting with low intelligence is great because you lavel quicker when you kill stuff , and so what you have 10 intelligence when you die often , and intelligence is important when you need to go to glowing sea = chems + nerd rage .
After trying this game about 5 times. Finally got its claws into me. Now over lvl 40+ now with 11 sets of power armor with sanctuary built up. It's soo fun!!
Dude once u start survival mode and past all the initial stress it get wayyyy better..i even hold my first witcher 3 playthrough ever..get into geralt later now its fallout survival mode for me
lucy is my favorite character. I love how naive she is and how as the show progresses she becomes less naive but still tries her best to make sure people are nice
I had a Survival playthrough where I rebuilt the Commonwealth Settlements one by one for the Minutemen, couple hours ago I activated all the cheats, Gave myself all the gear and Killed every faction just because this update was coming out lol
I think he's been set for an incredible season two arch though, I agree his character is a shit head though. I feel like as a story teller they did good at making an compitently incompitent person who's got a lot to learn about how the wasteland really works, cause as of now he's just got this BOS mentality when he looks at the world.
Excellent video of tips. I'll add by stressing high charisma. Charisma effects buy/sell prices and dialog success. Start with at least 6 and add 4 with clothing and more with chems. Early caps from scrapping Sanctuary and Red Rocket and make jet with the fertilizer and plastic. Use the jet and gold bars to purchase the Spray and Pray from Cricket. Long term easy cap maker is 40 gallon water purifiers. Goodnieghbor is great to farm for caps and xp. Gangsters repawn in 4 areas that provide submachine guns, 10mm pistols, ammo, and other stuff. Also Kleo has a Fatman and mini nuke to steal and respawns like the gangsters do. Purchase the Spray and Pay and Goodnieghbor will be easy.
There are also some spots east of Abernathy Farm. Center the boulders left of the Power Line Tower when facing East, you'll find a skeleton and suitcase; along with a machete. Just East of that same Tower, you'll find an open safe, similar to the one near the Water Tower; situated just under the boulder cliff, with a pistol and ammo box within.
Has to be Walton Goggins as the Ghoul, couldn't have cast anyone better then him. Would love to see more backstory of him slowly turning into a ghoul in season 2!
This makes me excited to see the Brotherhood of Steel squire who got ghoulified by the doctor have to deal with his new reality. He survived right? I think so.
I leave empty power armor at every settlement, all without cores. The settlers will occasionally put them on during an attack (found a female settler in power armor once in the garage of the Red Rocket, hip deep in super mutant corpses) Funny thing is, when you tell them they need to get out of the power armor, they will, and always leave a 100% core behind. I do occasionally have to hunt down any broken armor pieces that might have been picked up by other settlers.
Lol, its the std military doc tone and on the corner of the table in front of the nuke (in the intel rm) . . . not actually hidden if you just slow down a bit and look.
Get pipers afinity to max ASAP cause she doubles the xp gained from discovering locations. its actually nuts cause some areas can get rediscovered with raider shenanigans. great vid
S-7 P-4 E-1 C-6 I-8 A-1 L-1, Baby Book +1 to Agility. L&E stats can be supplemented with better gear, guns, & lots of chems. Perception can be boosted with certain hats, & glasses. Absalom, Atom Cats, & Bullet are good for basic gear. Quests get buggy, if you take Sanctuary before Preston. Taffington Boathouse is my first base suggestion.
Funny thing with the SPECIAL book in sanctuary. If you put your INT on 10 and get first into the root cellar and grab a alcoholic drink, you lower your INT by 1. You can now get the SPECIAL book and increase your INT by 1 which makes it into 11 after the alcohol wears off. Makes it another 3% more xp. Pretty handy.
Beside of INT being the most useless stat in the game (not even single one perk from its tree is worth picking up) and its xp boost is a pathetic joke. Wasting 10 skill points for 30% xp boost? Seriously? Idiot savant on level 2 gives you 44% xp boost in average - thats only 2 skill points for 50% better result. Also any kind of xp boost is actualy detrimental for player cause enemies scales with your level...
I used to watch ESO for skyrim advice - I've gotten over 2k hours now. I've never touched a single fallout game and now im back for tips on that. Times are good
The first thing I noticed about the update on PC is that the creation club menu now cannot tell which mods I have already downloaded, nor can download consistently. There are now more bugs in the creation menu than there were before. This does not bode well for the rest of the game.
they had a warning in game before the update that they would be doing maintenance on CC and the in game mod menu.. so might be that. i didn't update, don't see the point, really it just adds ultra wide screen support on pc, and like 2 new CC, which may or may not download.
@@briwanderzI had to download. The moment I got my new xbox the game crashed when I used mods and for the next 2 years I couldn't play the game at all. This update was definitely needed for me as when it updated it removed the mods that caused my game to constantly crash meaning after 2 years I can finally play one of my most favourite games.
2:09 Collect Adjustable Wrenches, Screwdrivers, Ball-peen Hammers, & Wrenches. You can trade them for caps in Vault 81. Also, collect Folders, Chalks, Cigars, & Cigarettes. They have zero (0) weight but sell for 1 Bottlecap. 2:20 During early game, collect Baseballs. They can be made into Baseball Grenades which only require minimal perk investment. 2:28 There's a Switchblade stabbed on top of the broken computer.
There's a mod that should be installed if you have all the DLCs, it's the one that keeps the radiant quests inside the Commonwealth, that way you aren't forced to visit a DLC location to complete a random radiant quest.
@@mokomaka141 Basically lets you play the game as the Silver Shroud (An old comic character who is also in the radio broadcasts as an old radio show from before the war)
That's a US Military vertibird that crashed there after the bombs dropped. You can tell because the skeleton there by the power armor and the one inside the vertibird are wearing fatigues and not a BOS outfit.
Fun fact: You can completely skip the museum sequence, and get to the power armor without entering the building. Just go upstairs in the Church next door, and jump onto the crashed vertibird from the Church's roof. The events that typically follow getting in the armor do not trigger, because you didn't help the minutemen. It will not break the sequence if you choose to go into the museum.
Thanks for this upload! I found it randomly and am SO excited to play Fallout 4 again! Edit: Just saw the end! This reminds me of the unmodded Skyrim exploit I used. I just kept forging iron daggers (because they use the least material while raising your forge level) until I could forge Dragon items. Then I made a whole set of Dragon Armor and BOOM started the game from there. Easiest, most fun playthrough I've ever had 💛
Lucy is actually pretty great. I've seen the actress before in things like Yellowjackets and she was okay. But in this, there's something about her babe in the woods vibe that's just perfect. She's a great vehicle to show the naive innocence of Vault dwellers and turning into us in the game through her suffering. She's nowhere near a badass yet but she's well on her way. And she's beautiful. She's like John McClane (wink wink, distant relative?) The more dirty and bloody she gets, the better she looks.
Yeah, but..if you use the method layed out in another comment, involving crouching. This still works, just did it a few hours ago, after it didnt work the way ESO told us, skimmking thru comment about the issue.
@@dunteman_racing Well maybe they only did it with the PC Version and called it a "Bug Fix", because it didnt work the easy way for me and i tried multiple times and i had only my suit and pipboy on. DM never made it in, sometimes he even got "in trouble" when i came up again and i had to stim him up..or rather load new and try again... after ten times...i gave up, returned here, skimmed thru the comments till i found the one that said something about crouching...didnt work the first time, but on the second try, also tested it on a new one and this time worked on the first try. Dunno what they did there, but atleast the crouchy method works for me.
@@wolfwilkopter2231 I did struggle a bit moving dogmeat into just the right position. Had to do it fast because he kept opening the door. So the second the door closed I triggered the prompt with dogmeat.
14:40 The only thing I would say you didn't point out is that right next to the nuke on the table is a white magazine that permanently increases your stealth. Another tip I would add is to always make sure any settlements have way more water production than they need. That way anytime you stop by a settlement, you can rob them of the 100 or so purified water in their workbench, which you can either use as an unlimited stimpack or sell for some nice profit.
For the shelf exploit, if you build a free standing wall, wood, steel, or concrete, you can put the shelves on the wall and just scrap the wall to store the shelves. Removes them from the build limit without having to scrap them all.
If you go east up the hill from that electric switch by the water there should be a camp with raiders just past the camp is a chimney stack with an open safe that has a cap stash and a 10 mm pistol
IIRC, the book can increase the stat if you reduce it first with something other than addiction. I increase my INT into 12 with it. Put 10 int at start, get any alcohol to reduce int and take the book immediately, the book get to 11 int, then get the booblehead to 12 int. Addiction reduction effect wont help with this.
@@snails6997 Oh I know, hence why I added that bit about debuffs. It is nice of you to explain in more detail though, I see now my wording may not have been the best. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
WAIT! DON'T maximize intelligence for xp gains! Its not the fastest way to level up. In the luck tree, the perk Idiot savant starts by giving you 3x exp randomly anytime you get exp, the rate of which is increased the lower your intelligence is. Eventually idiot savant boosts by 5x and at an even higher frequency. It can trigger on anything that grants xp. Take it from me, my first playthrough I maxed INT and made it to about level 35 or so before getting stuck in a death loop with no recent saves....like 15-20 levels back. So I started a whole new playthrough picked a new build (blitz/ rockville slugger) with the idiot savant perk and 1 INT. I was about level 54 around the same area I got soft locked. If you want to build more advanced late game weapons you'll want higher INT 5 or 6 I think, so you'll gain a bit more xp but idiot savant will trigger less frequently. Have fun people
Wow I was was half way through the video that released 8 years ago. So cool to see that you kept up all these years. Much respect. This earns a subscription 😅🎉
I just started playing FO4. I missed about half of everything you shared here. I just don't see how a developer would think a new player is going to figure all this out. Thanks.
On the cryolator part, the dog wasn’t spawning when I put on the vault 111 suit, but it did work when I put on a numberless vault suit. He spawned as the gate started opening.
So happy to be on board. Been following you a long and it's time I became a member! You have the most awesome tips and tricks for FO 4! Thankyou so much! U rock! ☺️👍
Lol I am bummed I gotta ensure my mods won’t crash my game again but thrilled to see the new content that comes with it! Not to mention it usually means better performance. You might need to make an updated modding video but hey, good stuff!
unfortunately the game looks exactly the same atleast on ultra settings and im getting about 8-10 less fps everywhere i already went back to old version for mod support
Wanna add that IF you go to USAF Satellite Station Olivia, there’s a magazine on the corner of the table in the Intel Room. It’s a Covert Manual that permanently boosts your ability to sneak. You’ll want to pick it up the first time you visit this location because the magazine can disappear
The cryolator trick was the biggest thing in this video for me, but all of the tricks you mentioned as well as the walkthrough to get power armor were all really useful. Will definitely be using these!
Any chance you'll drop a video on some of the new content? I already got me a character ready - heck, she hasn't even entered Vault 111 and I quick saved after I finished making her - and I already know most of the tricks you've listed thus far. Sorry to sound impatient btw, I just want to know what this update is bringing to the table for us vanilla players.
Depends on what System you play. The Next Gen Update is in my opinion a Next Gen thing for consoles, not for PC. On consoles you can play in 4k or 60 fps on lower resolutions with it. On PC it´s only an unstable widescreen fix. Yes, there is a bit of "new" content, but to be honest - if you have the pre Update build and play on PC, change the update method on Steam/GOG... to only update by starting the game, install the Fallout 4 Script Extender, and start the game via the Script Extender launcher. That only works if you haven´t updated the game already. Why? The update is unstable for now and even if you want to play a vanilla walkthrough, I would install some bug-fixing-mods. This update won´t fix most of them. I reinstalled F4 and the ESO modpack 2 weeks ago. This modpack wouldn´t work anymore, if I updated the game. But with this pre-update F4 build, I have much more content, than the update could ever provide.
21:45 I'm on PS5 with the latest update & it isn't working for me. I can easily get Dogmeat down into the vault, but I can't get him to pick up the Cryolator.
@grazzmu i always have a helmet while in power armor. Why else wear it? So far my mods still work. I bet the America rising 2 mod doesn't work, I won't try to play that one for now
You should make a "cloning" contraption. Simply make a line of two conveyer belts. A drop hopper on one end and two floor auto loader/unloader. Followed by belts to link back to hopper.
Fill hopper with desired cloning objects, can be anything. Then simply start machine, and spam "pick up" action as item is going into machine. If timed correctly it add one to inventory and have the original still in rotation. Saves a shit load of time
Ive been cloning stacks of rare materials like nuclear material, nuka nukes, ammo, building materials. Its insane especially when you start cloning your clones.
wow, all these minor changes and 8 new armors are totally worth breaking 58,000 mods... Bethesda once again showing how much they hate their modding community.
a side note tip for leveling up in early game if you have 7 int take chemist and after you deal with the named raider with the minigun grab the silver locket out of the toolbox by the locked door then when you go back to sanctuary falls when your heading to red rocket go west to a place called Abernathy farms talk with the people there one of them will give you a quest to get the locket back for them that you already have so give it to them and buy a shipment or two of fertilizer if you have any plastic junk in your workshop in sanctuary hills go back and open the chemistry station behind one of the houses on the left after you take the bridge back in. feel free to use the workshop settlement building to move the station by the others for convince later but open the chemistry station and combine the fertilizer and plastic to make jet you get a little experience per jet made but with chemist rank 1 you can make jet fuel by combining the jet you made and 5 flamer fuel ammo for more experience it also has a great value to weight ratio and is in my experience more valuable then the components to make it more so since you get a discount from Abernathy farms for doing the short quest for them plastic can be found from cheap junk items or by scraping laser weapons that can become common in some places flamer fuel if you get it from ether sagus iron works or just from ammo vendors. the end result is you can safely farm both exp and caps by just making jet fuel and selling it to venders rather then just spamming shelvs for 2 xp a piece since I think making jet gets you 3 exp and jet fuel about 11 give or take also save the steel for making caltrops since you can use those to refill your critical meter to give you crits on demand for tough fights worked best with the critical banker perk.
Whoever did the props and set decoration in that show deserves an Oscar (from back when an Oscar meant something) but the writing is all over the place. Lucy actually avoids the Mary Sue trap but Maximus and the whole Brotherhood of Steel don't even qualify as cardboard cutouts. As for Cooper Howard his pre-war portrayal is excellent but, as the Ghoul, he was the walking embodiment of every edge lord cliche about the apocalypse. "If you're serious about surviving you have to be ready to make the hard choices to stay alive. What? Learn how to plant a crop, milk a brahmin or just move out of the desert to somewhere capable of supporting life? What do you think I am, some sort of plebes?"
It is highly dependent on your luck (not in game luck) and intelligence level, the higher your intelligence the less likely that idiot savant will trigger, at 10 intelligence it’s is lower than one percent, and if you max it out then it will be less effective at giving xp, it is more or less a gamble, or you have no life at all and just reload a save for it to trigger on everything (very much so not recommended, check out a video where some guy tries to play fallout 4 on that one island off the coast)
idiot savant never goes below 1% proc chance. 10 INT + 1 Idiot Savant is on average more exp than 1 INT + 1 Idiot Savant, however 10 INT + 2 Idiot Savant is less average exp than 1 INT + 2 Idiot Savant (you need 14+ INT to match it). 3 Idiot Savant is good if you have high INT because the even though it adds a cool-down to the 5x bonus, the 3x bonus per kill is insane when your base exp is high
I just CAN'T seem to do the Cryolator glitch no matter how many times I try! I followed every step correctly but dog meat just doesn't find anything every time. It's so frustrating! Does anyone know what's going on??
If you side with the BoS, there's a mission involving a scribe relatively soon after joining, and you can just snipe her from the Prydwen (she's on the ground within that compound, and you need to be sneaking or the other BoS will become hostile). Killing the scribe will fail the objective but complete the quest, and you can just go grab the quest again from Proctor Quinlan. Rinse and repeat as many times as you want, just make sure she dies in 1 shot.
Just a quick note. This is false about intelligence. Intelligence is the most useless thing in the game. I have said this since I first started playing. All it does is boost exp gain which actually a trade off for lowering difficulty setting in exchange for improving your character. As exp boosts are indeed aspects of lower difficulty settings. So you can put points into something useful. Or put points into lower the difficulty setting. There is just zero reason whatsoever to spend points into intelligence. Not to mention, you get exp by playing the game anyway. So there is absolutely completely none whatsoever need for exp boost. And just to be clear you can max out everything without putting 10 into intelligence. This video is just claiming "much less time" which is something that is only useful for power levelers and speed runners who are trying to rush through the game. Aside from users who have beaten the game and speed running or just want to power level though content due to already playing it and beating it before. I have no clue why users would be interested in any sort power leveling or vids like this in every game that give new users information on how to get higher faster. It's so pointless in any rpg. You are still playing the game at the level you're on regardless of your level. So I don't comprehend the mentality of users trying to just get to higher level faster. Simply play the bloody game, and you will level up no matter what.
There's 2 army helmets in station Olivia. 1 is to your immediate right after going down the stairs and through the doorway. It's on a teddy with a cigar next to the locker. The other is on the skeleton where you get the key card... Oh and definitely green eggs and ham
Its never been fixed, though it does run a lot smoother on the next gen consoles and pc. There are mods that can help as well but they might break during the update.
Much better for the long term health of the franchise to have this update come out now, at the height of the series popularity thanks to the hit show. I’m happy about it despite not having my mods. Honestly, get over yourself. They didn’t release the update for you.
@@CACgaming007 yeah and there’s a mod out there that lets you join the enclave rather than fight them again. And to top it all off the free versions of the x-02 and hellfire power armor on the nexus look way better than the ones we got.
@@morbidzombii yeah I’m glad the update did positively affect some people in someway, but it also says a lot of the current state of Bethesda don’t you think? I mean, I don’t hate Bethesda. I’m just kind of sad that they fallen like this. I mean, they gave us a lot of childhood memories the elder scrolls morrowind oblivion Skyrim fallout 3. it’s just heart, wrenching and gut wrenching at the same time to watch a company that we’ve poured so much love into and has given us so much in return throw itself away in such a state. I just wish they did better for all of us.
Don’t take this guys advice as soon as he said get max intelligence for more xp, no use 1 intelligence and level 5 luck with idiot savant to level up fast
For 100% minmax leveling, yeah, but practically speaking if you are not glitching right to level 256 then having some intelligence is going to be of more practical gameplay use I find.
Here's a guide on how to get all your SPECIAL stats to 20+ at the start of the game: ruclips.net/video/nINcumfe1X8/видео.html
I explained this badly in the video, so here's the SPECIAL book Guide: You can indeed raise your attributes over 10 with the SPECIAL book, but you must first reduce your attribute to make it available as an option.
But the xp gain is the same weather you have 10 intel or 25
propably best to do it with some other stat instead. If possible.
Attributes go to 11? Why not make 10 one better?
Xp goes up with intelligence. Xp reward for codsworth speech check for intelligence 1/10/25 is 15/20/26.
Some things missing:
- Start with Charisma 6.
*NEVER.*
Dirty Water is a main ingredient for many good basic Recipes, and you only get it by filling empty Bottles in "unclean" Watersources as Puddles, Lakes and Rivers.

My *_TOP TIPS_* (especially _Survival Mode_ )--->
--> _Codsworth_ is available as a companion without first needing to free *Preston* .
Really excellent tips, cheers!
Also for Trashcan Carla. When you first meet her flirt with her saying you are just looking for love she will laugh and say her lovin days are over but say it made her day and give you a permanent discount on stuff you buy from her.

You just need to build a sink or water fountain. No need to haul anything. Its in furniture > miscellaneous
You can do this with any water pump or purifier in any settlement
Keep all pre-war money, cigar boxes and cigarette boxes on you for bartering. They can be easily found off of Ghouls or in most places that have cigarette dispensers. Most raider settlements will have a lot laying around. They are a good alternative for those who are lacking the caps. Pre-war money doesn't have any weight so you can carry as much of it on you as you want. All of them are under the Junk tab so make sure you collect them from your settlements in case you stored them accidentally.
I never knew that, thank you
i have been doing that since 3 i actually like to keep them at my house in display it used to be rivet city was my spot lol
i love to drop/stack items
I usually just sell ammo I don’t use this helps
This I've been doing since fallout 3 launch. Cuz in a wasteland, the next most valuable resource next to water and food and ammo is cigarettes
Also military files. They only sell for 1 cap, so not very valuable, but they also weigh nothing, so you can hoard as much of it as you want.
Walton Goggins is the best character in my opinion.
"Thou shall get side-tracked by bullshit every god damn time"
That was such a relatable line for anyone who has played the games.
He's such a good actor. Almost head and shoulders above almost everybody in the show.
Did you stopped from building settlements then? Because most of my game hours are from settlement building. 😂
No competition Walton Goggins is just awesome!
No one is even close in "Cool factor" 👍🤠

@@mmxcix I never even bothered with settlement building outside of water pumps and some plants so I could get adhesive, otherwise it's horrible.

Maximus is definitely using the Idiot Savant perk and I love it.
Hahahahaha true!

I leave empty power armor at every settlement, all without cores. The settlers will occasionally put them on during an attack (found a female settler in power armor once in the garage of the Red Rocket, hip deep in super mutant corpses)
Funny thing is, when you tell them they need to get out of the power armor, they will, and always leave a 100% core behind.
I do occasionally have to hunt down any broken armor pieces that might have been picked up by other settlers.

The first thing I noticed about the update on PC is that the creation club menu now cannot tell which mods I have already downloaded, nor can download consistently. There are now more bugs in the creation menu than there were before. This does not bode well for the rest of the game.
they had a warning in game before the update that they would be doing maintenance on CC and the in game mod menu.. so might be that. i didn't update, don't see the point, really it just adds ultra wide screen support on pc, and like 2 new CC, which may or may not download.

there is also that holotape next to it as well
Fun fact: You can completely skip the museum sequence, and get to the power armor without entering the building. Just go upstairs in the Church next door, and jump onto the crashed vertibird from the Church's roof.
The events that typically follow getting in the armor do not trigger, because you didn't help the minutemen.
It will not break the sequence if you choose to go into the museum.

IIRC, the book can increase the stat if you reduce it first with something other than addiction.
I increase my INT into 12 with it. Put 10 int at start, get any alcohol to reduce int and take the book immediately, the book get to 11 int, then get the booblehead to 12 int.

I will be covering the new stuff

You should make a "cloning" contraption.
Simply make a line of two conveyer belts. A drop hopper on one end and two floor auto loader/unloader. Followed by belts to link back to hopper.
Fill hopper with desired cloning objects, can be anything.
Then simply start machine, and spam "pick up" action as item is going into machine. If timed correctly it add one to inventory and have the original still in rotation.
Saves a shit load of time
Ive been cloning stacks of rare materials like nuclear material, nuka nukes, ammo, building materials.

a side note tip for leveling up in early game if you have 7 int take chemist and after you deal with the named raider with the minigun grab the silver locket out of the toolbox by the locked door then when you go back to sanctuary falls when your heading to red rocket go west to a place called Abernathy farms talk with the people there one of them will give you a quest to get the locket back for them that you already have so give it to them and buy a shipment or two of fertilizer if you have any plastic junk in your workshop in sanctuary hills go back and open the chemistry station behind one of the houses on the left after you take the bridge back in.
feel free to use the workshop settlement building to move the station by the others for convince later but open the chemistry station and combine the fertilizer and plastic to make jet you get a little experience per jet made but with chemist rank 1 you can make jet fuel by combining the jet you made and 5 flamer fuel ammo for more experience it also has a great value to weight ratio and is in my experience more valuable then the components to make it more so since you get a discount from Abernathy farms for doing the short quest for them plastic can be found from cheap junk items or by scraping laser weapons that can become common in some places flamer fuel if you get it from ether sagus iron works or just from ammo vendors. the end result is you can safely farm both exp and caps by just making jet fuel and selling it to venders rather then just spamming shelvs for 2 xp a piece since I think making jet gets you 3 exp and jet fuel about 11 give or take
also save the steel for making caltrops since you can use those to refill your critical meter to give you crits on demand for tough fights worked best with the critical banker perk.
Isn't idiot savant proven to be the best way to gain experience?
Not if you upgrade it all the way
It is highly dependent on your luck (not in game luck) and intelligence level, the higher your intelligence the less likely that idiot savant will trigger, at 10 intelligence it’s is lower than one percent, and if you max it out then it will be less effective at giving xp, it is more or less a gamble, or you have no life at all and just reload a save for it to trigger on everything (very much so not recommended, check out a video where some guy tries to play fallout 4 on that one island off the coast)
Not if you get it to last level
idiot savant never goes below 1% proc chance.

Legendary weapon with dog dont work.. PS4 i tried few times.
I made the mistake of keeping the radio on and now I can't this "Crawl out through the fallout, baby" song out of my head. Ugg.
Dog meat doesn’t spawn in

There is a level cap
