Thanks for your great review. I noticed a problem. Moreover, every now and then I see (at a few spots of a copied page) pieces of ghost text shining through from the backside of the original page in case the original had been printed on both sides. What can I do?
This makes sense. Regarding the folding, that will cast shadows from the scanner. To eliminate the bleeding, either print on thicker paper or go into the system interface and adjust your contrast settings. I believe there is also an anti-bleed setting, if I am not mistaken.
My visit to staples printer had an error code. Reminds me of the office. Have you experienced error codes. If so how did you deal with that. Do they provide on screen demo on resolving error code.

Does it smell badly after printing or simply turning it on? I have a Canon MF8580Cdw and it is kind of a big issue. When I turn it on, you can immediately tell.
I'm having an issue with envelope printing, the prints are coming out on the wrong side. I've tried everything I can think of and they are still printing out on the flap side not the front as they are supposed to. Any suggestions??
Hi, keti Man! Sorry for the delay -- RUclips hasn't been functioning well on my end! The printer does come with four cartridges, so even if you are printing in only black and white, you will still have all 4 cartridges from the get-go. When printing in strictly black and white, I do not believe that the printer uses color toner, as well, though I could be wrong. Also, once color runs out, you should be able to continue printing in black and white. Hope this helps!
It can do any paper that is specifically laser compatible. That being said, I do not know what the maximum paper weight is for this unit. It can definitely do cardstock, but I'm not sure about heavy cardstock. Hope this helps!

I am not sure, but I would stick with genuine Canon toner above all. Their toner is optimized for this machine and will deliver the best quality. Additionally, all generic toner could damage the internals. It's pricey, but it's worth it!
Zach - I have the Color imageCLASS LBP623Cdw and love it. However, I need to do some borderless printing and can't figure out how in the world to do that. Under Page Setup there is no "borderless print" option. Can I print borderless with this printer? thank you.

Hi Zachary. I've had the 735Cx for a few months now. (Still under guarantee). I have a problem. I print mostly black text with a bit of colour on the page. The first 4 to 6 pages come out perfectly and clean but then the pages start to show grey vertical lines on the sides (portrait view). If I wait a few minutes and print again, the pages come out clean again. These grey vertical lines seems to be heat related? Is there something I can clean? Should I replace the black toner cartridge even though it says 70% full? BTW, I am NOT using Canon original toner cartridges. The shop offered three levels. Compatible, Compatible Premium and Original Canon. I opted for what the shop recommended which was the Premium. (The Canon original was double the price). Should I try an original black toner? Any advice would be appreciated.
Definitely ALWAYS use genuine/original toner/ink in printers. Counterfeit toners/inks have the potential to not only reduce image quality but damage the printer. I would say do this first and then follow any troubleshooting steps, such as maintenance within the printer's interface. From here, contact Canon support, as then it would be a hardware defect. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the prompt response. Interesting development. I started playing around with the A4 weight in the settings. I reduced it to A4 "Plain L2 60g/m2" and it is much much better! Only a few really faint grey lines begin to appear after about 16 pages. The quality of the print does not seem to have been affected. Perhaps I should try the lowest setting? L3 52-59g/m2 ? What do you think?
Ok, you are asking an excellent question. I didn't think it mattered. I bought the paper in the supermarket! It's "Chamex multi dia a dia" "- Ideal for daily activities" 80g m2. Almost everything is in Spanish but the little English on the package doesn't say much either. It says absolutely nothing about its practical use but goes on and on about its Green credentials. It's 100% Renewable Recycled Paper. It sponsors educational initiatives on environmental income generation....blah blah blah... I Googled it and it seems to be standard Photocopy machine paper. If I am not mistaken, they use Laser technology as well? However, I take your point and will go and get some better quality Laser Printer paper from an Office supplies shop. Let's see if that helps.
UPDATE: I read up on this problem and some articles directed me to go and check the black cartridge. When I examinied it, sure enough there were black rings around the blue printer head cylinder and also the smaller black cycinder inside. I tried cleaning off the toner with an ear bud (Q-tip in American English) and it prints cleanly for about ten papes then the lines appear again. Examining the cartridge once again and the rings have returned. The articles point to a problem with the cleaning mechanism and bristles which are supposed to keep these cylinders clean and free of excess toner. My conclusion is that I should go and buy a genuine Canon 046 H Black cartridge. Thanks for your feedback.
How do I get the single sheet feeder to work? I put in a sheet of paper and it pulls in to place but when it prints it uses the 250 sheet feeder. I don't understand how to designate the single sheet feeder and assumed it would automatically be used.
You have to select which tray you want to source from in your computer and/or program's preferences. I believe there is also a place within the settings of the printer where you can select that as the default tray
Hi Zachary. Have you any idea how to solve a printing from Chrome problem I have. Hey I have a Canon Imageclass MF632cdw and i am wondering where is the automatic document feeder? Does it even have one? I was hoping to scan several documents at the same time...instead of doing it 1 by 1. please let me know.
Great demonstration. I was hoping that you would hit on the scan to PDF, name and save documents. Upon shopping and checking reviews people were saying that with the wireless they couldn't make a PDF to the pc. One person said in a review that they had to get the USB cord for that function. Which is fine, I have one on the old printer. Do you happen to know? I run a business and need to endlessly scan PDF files and name them to upload to email and billing portals.
Thanks a lot I saved a ton of time by following your instructions. One more thing my model(631cn) does not show the printer consumables option around how many prints one can get with a single cartilage thanks again!!
Hey, does it have dual scan facility? Both sided scanning? Appreciate if you can help me on this. I own this model, but could not find such option in settings.
We have this printer and are having difficulty replacing the color toners. Could you do a video for that? We put in new toner but the printer still reports the cartridges empty. We are using Canon Toner cartridges.
I have not had to replace the toner yet, but I will certainly make a video of it when the time comes. When installing the cartridges, ensure that you have removed all plastic/paper/packaging and that each color corresponds to its correct spot. If the problem persists, I'd contact Canon to see if there is an issue with your toner and/or printer. Chances are, they will replace one or the other. Hope this helps!
Hello Zachary, I was wondering if you know how from a laptop to print darker? I wanted to save my ink so i followed a google instructions but now I can not get it to go back to printing normally. Thankyou!
Do you know anything about Brother printers? If so, how does this stack up to the Brother MFC-L3770CDW? Also, how would you compare this printer to the Canon imageCLASS MF733CDW? Thank you!
I would choose Canon over Brother. For Canon printers, you do not need to worry about changing the belts, imaging drum, etc., as changing the toner essentially installs new parts every time, but for the Brother, you must maintain all these parts. I would select this Canon compared to the other; it is more compact, and I believe the MF733CDW does not have duplex scanning, while this one does. The only reason to get the 733CDW over this model is due to the higher paper volume and faster print speeds, but this is only a necessity in a heavy duty printing environment, such as an office with a large number of users. Hope this helps!
The MF733 is aimed at higher-volume printing: it prints faster, holds more paper, and I believe has a larger screen and longer-lasting toner. Unless you are running a printing business or are in an office, I advise you to get the MF634, partly because the MF733 takes up far more space.

Hi! I have a Canon MF642Cdw, for some reason I can’t get the images I print to be clear. The look as if they have streaks through the image. What print settings can I change my printer to to ensure a good quality print?
The problem in default Windows drivers. You should try installing the drivers from the attached CD disk (do not try to download them from the Canon website)
I just purchased this and at start up as well as during printing there is a loud squeaking noise. Is this a defect? Did your unit have a similar issue?
I ordered MF734Cdw and waiting for it to arrive in a few days. Some comment below said Canon should hire you. Do not fall for that! I used to work For Canon USA as a laser copier technician and it was horrible! The pay was bad, and the requirement was that you drive your own car to customer locations to fix and clean imagerunner and imageclass canon printers. Switched jobs, career a long time ago and do not regret it. But Canon's printers are not so bad, so I ended up buying one. Good luck to you mate! Very good review! Thank you!
I can relate. I hated working for Canon but their products have always been fantastic. If you don't want to pay for an ImageClass the Maxify 5420 is damn good too and inks are dirt cheap on Amazon.
Could you please do a video about how to change the paper settings? This printer is new for me and I can't figure out how to print on card stock. Thank you for making these videos.
How can you change the thickness to be able to print the type of paper your using? I use water slides and they're almost like card stock paper and the paper keeps getting jammed in the printer.
I don’t believe water slides are laser compatible. Make sure whatever you print is laser compatible. Whenever you change the paper, you should be prompted for the paper size/thickness. You can also adjust these under “paper settings.” Hope this helps!
Judging by your responses below, you still seem to be happy with this printer, two years later. Would you say it has held up well? I am interested in purchasing older models only, as there are those who can attest to the longevity of them.

This makes sense. Regarding the folding, that will cast shadows from the scanner. To eliminate the bleeding, either print on thicker paper or go into the system interface and adjust your contrast settings. I believe there is also an anti-bleed setting, if I am not mistaken.

May I ask how many pages are included in the toner which is included with he printer....? Thanks
Somehow when I choose double sided and print stuff from my phone or tab, other side always comes out upside down. Can I fix it somehow? Thank you!
I'm having the same problem! Could you fix it?
Dude, you did a great job sharing the info, thank you so much!
Thanks for the Review. How does it work with Mac OS X 10.15 Catalina ??
Where is the card slot to save your scans? I don't see it in the quick setup manual.
Hi! As far as I know, this printer does not have a card slot! Sorry!
How do you print 2 sided into 2 sided my MF642CDW does not have that feature
This model can do automatic double side scan or print from the feeder (ADF) ? Thanks
Yes, it can! :)
There is a single adjustable page feeder, the slot above the paper tray and just below where the cartridges are. You never mentioned a word of it in your video. What can you tell me about that?
I believe I did. That is the specialty feeder tray, used for feeding single-sheets and mediums such as envelopes and non-traditional paper :)
My mistake. You DID mention it in passing early in the video at about 2:10. I changed my "dislike" to a "like" :) Thank you!
I read your reply that we cannot use photo paper on this machine. If I have to print photos for framing - is there a way ot I print on regular papper?
You can print on any paper, but you will get three best results using a dedicated photo printer with photo paper!
Hi. I just got the MF644CDW. What do I have to do to get it to email? When I try to email something it says that email settings are not configured in the Remote UI. Can you please help me with that?
Are you trying to scan something to email from the printer?
Hi. Can the printer do a duplex print of a duplex scan directly ?
Yep! :)
Does it smell badly after printing or simply turning it on? I have a Canon MF8580Cdw and it is kind of a big issue. When I turn it on, you can immediately tell.
So basically I can use hp 201A in my canon right?
No, you cannot!
I'm having an issue with envelope printing, the prints are coming out on the wrong side. I've tried everything I can think of and they are still printing out on the flap side not the front as they are supposed to. Any suggestions??
Can you use it as just black and white printer, wothout other cartridges, or you still need to have them to print black and white anyways?
Hi, keti Man! Sorry for the delay -- RUclips hasn't been functioning well on my end! The printer does come with four cartridges, so even if you are printing in only black and white, you will still have all 4 cartridges from the get-go. When printing in strictly black and white, I do not believe that the printer uses color toner, as well, though I could be wrong. Also, once color runs out, you should be able to continue printing in black and white. Hope this helps!
Is there a video on how to print photos on photo paper just bought this printer thanks
Please see the FAQ
Do you have a video that prints labels from Avery?
No, I do not. Keep in mind most labels are not laser compatible!
Can this do heavy cardstock?
It can do any paper that is specifically laser compatible. That being said, I do not know what the maximum paper weight is for this unit. It can definitely do cardstock, but I'm not sure about heavy cardstock. Hope this helps!

how about this milcoast glossy sticker paper? (link above)
would u be able to test this out and see how quality comes out? 5+ subs from me and my group of friends if you can do this.
and if this printer isnt good with glossy paper, would you know any cheap compact ones that are compatible with this specific milcoast glossy paper? (or any glossy paper that's compatible with both inkjet AND laser)?
My main goal is to make sticker labels, but i want to implement shiny gold/other metallic shiny color foils (utilizing the foil lamination method on black laser toner).
My improvisation is that I have a color printer already that works fine, i just need a laser printer i can use glossy paper on since this dell 1815dn doesn't work with glossy paper..
but i wouldnt mind buying a brand new printer like this if the color quality is good for small, cartoony images and as long as it is glossy paper compatible.
lmk!!!
You say the toner tray shows 201A/X and it's HP's number. So can HP 201-compatible toner be used instead of Canon 045-compatible? I'm asking because I find Linkyo's HP 201-compatible toner cart to be cheaper than their Canon 045-compatible toner cart. Thanks.
Can I print borderless with this printer? thank you.
Unfortunately, laser printers cannot print borderless. For borderless printing, you need an inkjet! :(
can we use glossy paper for picture in this printer ?
How do you load the paper????
How do you print legal size paper?
I got the Canon imageclass mf743cdw and the pictures that I print is soo washed out. It has poor picture printing quality. Do you have any suggestions on how to improve this?
@@RebMordechaiReviews It should not be appearing at all. Tinkering with the settings might help. Is your paper laser compatible?
How to use the scanner and other part of the printer?
How do I get the single sheet feeder to work? I put in a sheet of paper and it pulls in to place but when it prints it uses the 250 sheet feeder. I don't understand how to designate the single sheet feeder and assumed it would automatically be used.
You have to select which tray you want to source from in your computer and/or program's preferences. I believe there is also a place within the settings of the printer where you can select that as the default tray
Hi Zachary. Have you any idea how to solve a printing from Chrome problem I have. It only happens on certain sites using this "PrintFriendly" tool but when I print, the print job goes into Waiting status with "Waiting for File Name" message displayed on the Home console screen. What's that all about?
Thanks for this review. I need a new laser printer for my business, and wanting to print more of our color labels in house. Is the color/image quality excellent on this model? I need the most crisp lines I can find. Thanks in advance.
The quality of this machine is superb! Better than most I've seen. Colors are very accurate, too! And, of course, the quality improves with the quality of paper you use!

Hey I have a Canon Imageclass MF632cdw and i am wondering where is the automatic document feeder? Does it even have one? I was hoping to scan several documents at the same time...instead of doing it 1 by 1. please let me know.
The top feeder has a capacity of around 50 sheets, I believe :)
great review..can you plz tell me how about the durabilty of this printer?
It's held up GREAT! Very reliable!
Is there a way to print images without the print bleed?
Can you please specify what you mean?
Great demonstration. I was hoping that you would hit on the scan to PDF, name and save documents. Upon shopping and checking reviews people were saying that with the wireless they couldn't make a PDF to the pc. One person said in a review that they had to get the USB cord for that function. Which is fine, I have one on the old printer. Do you happen to know? I run a business and need to endlessly scan PDF files and name them to upload to email and billing portals.

Hello - can you please clarify your question?
Hey, does it have dual scan facility? Both sided scanning? Appreciate if you can help me on this. I own this model, but could not find such option in settings.
Yes, it has single-pass two-sided scanning! :)
please can you tell me about its borderless option where is it ?
This printer does not offer borderless printing as an option - sorry! :(
We have this printer and are having difficulty replacing the color toners.
How is this compare to the HP 477fdw? I need to decide between this CAnon 733cdw and the HP 477fdw, which brand is better?
100% go with the Canon. More reliable, better quality, and better customer service. Nothing that would make the HP a better choice than the Canon.
when i was checking this printer up i was told that canon make the HP printer so the inside is pretty much the same.
@@perkarlen1450 I've heard this too, and it makes sense considering the layout of the internals.

Hi zach, does this printer work with 350 gsm art card? Plz let me know planning for making flashcards to my kid.
Hi! Can you please elaborate on what that is?
Zachary Galen Thank you!! I think I’ll go with the MF634CDW.
@@wlms04 You won't be disappointed!
Can you scan and email multiple pages both sides from the ADF instead of having to lift the lid and scan a page at a time?
Hi Gil! Yes, you can!
Will this do duplexing for scanning?
Yes it does! :)
@@ZacharyGalen Thank you!
What different between MF 634 and MF 733?
The MF733 is aimed at higher-volume printing: it prints faster, holds more paper, and I believe has a larger screen and longer-lasting toner. Unless you are running a printing business or are in an office, I advise you to get the MF634, partly because the MF733 takes up far more space.
Thanks for posting the video, it’s very informative and very helpful. Have you had any problems with your printer not consistently working (printing and/or scanning) using the Wi-Fi connection? I recently purchased a printer in the same imageCLASS series. It’s model number MF642CdW. The Wi-Fi connection worked flawlessly the first day, but has been sporadic ever since.
Check to see if it needs a firmware update -- that might help! :)
Thank you, Zachary, for the excellent video. It would be great if you could make a video on how to print envelopes.
Yes, exactly. I just bought a MF 644 Cdw, and I cannot get it to print envelopes. I am very frustrated.

I just purchased this unit for a small multimedia desktop publishing service of mine. Hopefully it fits the bill.
It pays for itself in no time!
Thank you. This was very helpful, long but hit all the points I wanted to see.
Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed the video! You will not be disappointed - Canon makes excellent products! As of now, I do not intend to work for Canon, haha!
My printer is very loud. Is that normal? Printout looks fine, it just sounds like there're thousands of moving parts in there...
If it sounds louder/different from the video, I would reach out to Canon!
Thanks, very helpful. Can you show how to send and receive faxes too?
Unfortunately, my apartment is not equipped for sending faxes, so I am unable to do so. You can always scan and use an online service, such as eFax :)
I keep getting check the paper size and type settings for drawer are correct before performing the job
On the printer or computer?
Definitely holds up well, but try to purchase a new unit over a refurbished one!
