    I love how the video shows the computer finding the printer right away. The funny thing about that is that none of my computers at home can find it on the network, even though it is properly connected. Even funnier, we have a different Canon copier at work and none of the PCs or Macs can find that Canon printer on our network either. We had to jump through hoops galore to connect our computers to the copier, and there are still some computers that still cannot connect to it - even with the IP address. But there is customer support - during the hours when I'm at work away from the printer at home that I'm trying to setup. Really, Canon? Your product is tops - but your setup doesn't have to be this hard when no other brand that I have ever worked with has had any of these issues.

      So what your saying is that you can only have a professional hook the printer to the comeputer

      Boy do I agree with you. This is our second Canon, and both are too expensive to put up with these problems. I will discourage people from purchasing a Canon and personally will go back to the less expense model I had before this $499.00 plus 8.0778% tax for MF448dw model! Time save will certainly be worth replacing a lesser value printer every three to four years!

      I’m having the same issue. Was working perfectly until I moved. I’ve set it up 20 times to no avail. I even hired a tech company to get it to work and they were stumped. Now I have a printer that I purchased that doesn’t work. No more canon

      For those users who can't find the printer from your Windows PC even your printer is connected to your WiFi network:
      Find the IP address at the lower left corner of the "Status Monitor" on the printer screen, then type the IP address at your browser. You will be asked the System Manager ID and PIN, set that up at your printer and log in. Once you log in, you should be able to find your printer from your Network or your "Add Printer" Windows setting. Hope this helps.

    Whenever I try to print something it says “the IP address has changed” even though it is connected to the same wifi network my laptop is connected to. I don’t have access to the router because I live in student housing. Any tips?

    Hey followed the instructions on video it has a lock icon on the network, when pressed It shows the other options and when I press wireless LAN settings its says for more information please refer to the manual ( I do ont have the manual on hand

    Not sure if this feature is possible, but does anyone know how to set MF743Cdw to automatically connect to back WiFi after it turns back on??? I turn it off when not in use and when I turn it back on, I am having to go through the menu to setup and reconnect each time. Asking to see if I can make this convenient for my family who are not tech-savy and just want it to automatically connect upon turn on.

      That sure sounds frustrating, and your imageCLASS MF743Cdw should only need to be set up on your network once. Your printer should stay connected as long as nothing changes with your network setup. We recommend giving our imageCLASS support team a call at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666). They're open Monday through Friday and we're confident they can get this taken care of once and for all!

    How do I know the system administrator ID and the pIN

      Hi! As shown at 1:04, if your system manager ID and PIN haven't been changed, then they are each 7654321 by default. If you need more help with this, we recommend talking to a member of your IT team if you're in a business environment or calling our US-based support squad at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) for guidance.

    Video is excellent - I have followed and set up printer, connected to Wi-Fi, installed drivers - so according to the video should be able to print. However, when I access the remote Interface there is no network settings section. The manual is over complicated and not user friendly - common Canon - what is the point in having a good printer if an intelligent lay person can’t set it up!

      @@CanonUSA - Thanks for your reply - really appreciated. I had amazing support via online chat for 3 hours last week - able to print but not scan to folder. Thankfully this was escalated to level 2 support and I have received a detailed instruction email on what to do. Fingers crossed this works. It would have been really helpful to have a Canon set up video - based on Mac OS. - Monterey - is this possible? I note that OS Ventura is out now - so new drivers and instruction videos would be really helpful for these. Many thanks.

    Cant register printer to download updates, then product warranty still in effect, now am stuck, and worse, your video doesn't work on this printer, and yes, same model, printer was replace 3 TIMES by Canon within a week, am very upset, not only the money, but the time wasted

      Thank you, fixed that, now am having Cartridge empty Magenta is often, all came with the printer, new and I hardly use the darn printer, thanks @@CanonUSA

    Why are these machines so terrible??? Menu system is not at all intuitive. Printer can't recognize it has paper in it. Printer acknowledges new toner cartridges but doesn't use them. SMH

    There's a lot I'd like to complain about. Functions = useless. Settings = TOO MANY. Print quality = horrible. Simply put: Do Not Buy This Printer. It's the worst I've ever owned. No adjustments can be made due to it saying (every time) Could Not Be Performed. Print Settings? UFR Settings? Why??? And non of them work properly. All my images have lines. Fresh Ink - Doesn't matter. Do not buy.
