What was twice as funny was when you could see his reflection in the mirror of the truck while he was getting the one slo-mo pan shot, which made it obvious he was doing voice-over at that point. Then you could see his reflection in the nav screen at another point making it obvious he was talking on-camera about the symmetrical center stack.

Both trucks are awesome! I choose my 2020 gen2 and I love everything about it. I'm a Subaru technician so I've come up around turbo cars. Definitely enjoy my truck.
The only problem i remember about the old one is that the frame is easily bent off reading and hitting jumps so you need to find a way to reinforce the frame

Nick Tholl I’ve jumped my first gen Raptor quite a few times and even hit bump stops once, key is making sure the truck jumps and lands evenly. You can’t just see a spot and jump the hell out of it. You have to run it a few times, hence why the big boy trucks use prerunners to get coordinates and key terrain areas.
Gen 1 has the (4) auxilliary switches standard and did offer the tailgate step, remote start, etc as options. The smaller 5.4 was only available for 2010. As for the bumper mounted fog/auxilliary LEDs, they are not standard on either truck.
When your off road thrashing it your not going to care what the infotainment system is doing, however you will care about hearing a nice v8 rumble. 6.2 for the win. One thing you forgot to mention is the newer one has a stiffer frame, witch I wouldn't mind having! There both awesome!
Livernois Performance does all kinds of awesome upgrades to that 6.2, including cams and superchargers. They sound MEAN with a set of cams and an exhaust!
I have a 2013 F150 FX4, had it since new. You're right with the sync, you have to push the screen kind of hard. Mine is also that way and has been that way since I purchased it.
Well, I think that the "older" raptor is definitely the better one to keep, in fact it has the v8 in it. While yes, you can get the same amount of performance out of the v6 if you put a supercharger or turbo or whatever on the v8 you will get so much more out of it than possible in the v6.

It's like going back into time. I believe your Duramax is a 2005. First year of the current generation Frontier. Just interesting as you say how interiors of trucks have evolved. That little storage square below the 12V is where the 110V power outlet would be, if they would have optioned that out. The truck comes with a storage square on the left too, if you don't get the tow package.
I'll get criticized here , but I own a 2013 f350 and use the step all the time when I'm loading alone. Tossing bags of seed/feed/dirt only works so well for utilizing every inch of the bed. The the step I can have 2 bags on my shoulder and walk up into the bed
New one is so sexy looking, prefer the V8 over the ecoboost though. I do get that some people might prefer the older one, I got myself a low mileage 2011 Dodge Challenger over a new style 2015+ because I prefer the simpler setup old ones vs the high tech feel of the new ones.
At time mark 12:00 you can add more oem upfitter switches in that pocket. I installed some in my 2010 f150 platinum. you can use it as a pocket to throw stuff in there but I utilize it for upfitter switches.
Not to mention how you're at the mercy of all of that technology. If any piece of it goes wrong it could strand you or leave important functions of your truck inoperable. And that stuff is not cheap to replace.
Mike you are right around 12 mins in that the dash is symmetrical. It lowers production costs for right hand drive models in other countries. Not everything is going to be reversible but they're going to make as much as possible. Less R&D and variant manufacturing.
I love everything about the new Raptor except the motor Why didn't Ford just throw a turbo or a procharger or a supercharger on the V8 it's a truck I don't want a V6 in my truck even if it's faster the exhaust note doesn't match the truck🤔🤨😖😔😢
The modification they would have to make to the truck would take away for what it was made for. Plus you would be adding another 10 to 15k to the price
Thanks for the review, Mike. It's rare that any manufacturer these days makes a *new* vehicle that is worse than the one it is replacing. There will always be the purists that want their pickup to have a v8, but, as Bob Dylan said - "The times, they are a-changin.'" I'd own a new Raptor in a heartbeat.
You can throw in the reliability argument also. The EcoBoost is known for timing chain issues and turbo issues. The 6.2 isn't really known for any issues.
I have to say the Blue Raptor appeals to me more, The truth is a Truck is for driving and not worrying if it gets dirty, muddy and covered in Bulldog slobber. Then again if it is in need of a valet you only have to park it near Troy and he starts twitching then grabbing his buckets.
