    *Please read and give opinion*
I have a friend in Germany. He swapped his V6 EcoBoost with a V8 5.0L supercharged. 740 hp to the wheels. We messed with the modules and made some dummy plugs & configured to fool the modules. This V8 is from the 2018 Mustang GT. Roush supercharger. It use to have a VMP supercharger but we went back to the Roush for now. VMP used to put down 822 hp to the wheels.
    10 speed transmission adapted to
V8 5.0L TI VCT with a custom aluminum plate .
    All wheel drive
4 inch lift kit with upgraded hydraulic fox racing shocks(more travel and flexibility)
    Bigger tires and custom rims.
    Spaced out as well
Carbonfiber hood, L-R fenders, grill, bumper, interior pieces that was fake carbon changed to real ones and upgraded speakers.
    A/C
    No error messages
Reconfigured ECU to fool the modules for the turbos
Dummy plugs and software for the ECU and turbo modules.
Custom titanium exhaust with valves( headers are stock with 2 primary cats and then straight piped after that)
    Bigger radiator
Everything works in that truck and im doing my 2018 Raptor V8 conversion as well. Shipped it here to Germany.
The total cost for everything was €23.910.

    • @aggieforester05
      @aggieforester05 6 лет назад

I have a roush supercharged 2016 F150, that had the roush exhaust on it when I bought it. I swapped the muffler for a QTP screamer (which required a custom 2 into 1 Y pipe that I had made at an exhaust shop for $65). The QTP screamer is a valved muffler that switches between single and three chamber modes. I also added a QTP cutout with turndown upstream, to get effectively three mode exhaust system. I spent about $700 for that, but would need to factor in the cost of the 3" Roush catback. I do know Roush makes a valved system itself, but it's $1,800.

    • @ymcmbktb
      @ymcmbktb 6 лет назад

Hunter White the thing with QTP is that they are not reliable, they cutout simply stops working in a few months.
Regarding Roush’s active exhaust my issue with it is the price, other than that it looks like a solid product.
Sorry for any mistakes english is not my first language.

A flatplane would be terrible for a truck and wouldnt handle the weight. It wouldnt have the low end torque that you would want in a truck, especially not for a raptor. You dont buy a Raptor for it to rev to 8500 rpms, it would take FOREVER to get in the power band.

So after watching and reading the comments, here are a few of my top concerns:
Driving modes: Do they add all of the raptors variable driving modes?
Weak frame: the raptors frame is beefier to accommodate jumps and hardcore off roading.
Price: it’s not bad, but if you want the special raptor interior or any of the upgrades, it’s the same if not more expensive.
Insurance: the truck is going to be insured at only the base truck price. It won’t include aftermarket upgrades, no matter how expensive those upgrades are. The only way I can see maybe getting it fully insured is if you bought the truck directly from them and had documented proof of the total price after upgrades. Ex: Roush, Shelby, RTR, all are bought already upgraded, and can be insured as that.

Andy Hass I'm with ya. I own a 17 Raptor and wouldn't even consider this, but just wanted to state that it has technically been used in a high power vehicle although much lighter. Supposedly it is built to handle more power than the Raptor, but time will tell if that's true. Tons of power is cool, but also you'll never use that power off road anyway. With Gen 1 shocks and 750 HP, the suspension will always still be the limiting factor.

Glad you came out to my state! That said, I really wonder how many actual Gen 2 owners are asking for a V8. I've been a very active member of most (if not all) the Gen 2 Raptor forums since 2016, and basically no one dislikes the TTV6. Yeah, there are complaints about the sound, but nobody thinks switching to a V8 is worth the time or money. Be interesting to see how these sell, especially considering they are missing a lot of the G2 specific improvements (such as terrain management, Raptor specific tcase, etc)>>
Edit: To clarify, you're paying $40k more to get a heavier engine that's not much more powerful, and you lose out on the Aux switches, TMS, and several other things I can't think of at the moment. Baja mode changes the truck's handling SIGNFICANTLY - Sport mode 4H TC off doesn't begin to match it. First and most notable difference is braking parameters - it takes nearly 150% as much distance to stop in Normal/Sport mode offroad than it does in Mud/Sand/Baja.

If you’re clueless about Raptors, F-150’s and the aftermarket, you’ll fall for this. You can spend around $6,000 on King or Fox 3.0 shocks and rear triple bypass. You can pick up take off upper and lower control arms for fraction of what the dealer charges in the Raptor community. CV axles are cheap and easy to change out as well. You can pick up everything from guys in the Raptor community for less than $3500 if you don’t want aftermarket bypass. Come on guys, wheel spacers to get the width in the rear? That’s trash. I’ve done this build with a FX4 Ecoboost to Raptor pre Gen 2. King shocks and bypasses, frame brace w/2.5” King bumps, oem rear Raptor axle, oem upper and lower control arms and tie rods, oem cv axels. All under $5000 with brand new take off parts . The compete bed swap, fender swap was surprisingly cheap as well thanks to the Raptor community. You can buy OEM Ford parts for a discount through TASCA. These guys aren’t paying full retail for genuine Ford parts, especially when they buy a truck load like he said in the video. You can bet these guys are charging the customer full price though. Props to them for the looks, the body is perfect. However all this can be achieved with fiberglass fenders and bedsides. I understand not everyone is mechanically inclined, but $7k for the suspension conversion w/ no Torsen diff and wheels spacers on the rear hubs to “look” the width of a Raptor in the rear is a joke.

Zach Billings that’s cool Ford really did a good job with the new raptor this one shouldn’t disappoint

Preach. 100% agree. People don't realize the testing a factory vehicle goes through - especially a Raptor (well over 2000 offroad miles, all in legit offroad racing). Meanwhile, the consumer serves as the testing ground for aftermarket components.
I too am very happy with my TTV6. Not even sure I'd switch for a V8, but I'm quite interested in the Fox Live Valve shocks, not gonna lie

I know! Drove me a bit nuts when they announced the live shocks for 2019. Wouldn't say no to the Recaro seats either. I'm just going to wait until they release a more powerful powerplant option (don't care how many cylinders) to upgrade. If Ram does make the TRX truck with power in the 600s or 700s, Ford is bound to offer an option for higher output. Frankly I'd like to see a lower displacement TTV8. I like turbos for a broader power curve.

A TTV8 would be awesome, no doubt, but I really don't think we'll see one from the factory. Would love to be wrong on that.
I plan to retrofit the shocks when my stockers wear out. No doubt Fox will release standalone versions like they have for mountain bikes.

T4nkc0mm4nd3r that’s true it does go through extensive testing and adding the TTV6 shows what Ford can do with this beast

    This conversation is pretty good.
It would be better if they would also add a Power Stroke Diesel in the bed in addition to the V8 supercharged engine. This would make it a dual fuel truck.
Of course then that might make the price go up just a little bit.

I’ll keep my Gen2. That V8 raptor is not a Raptor. Missing some components that make a raptor a raptor. It’s a Piecemealed kit.

I agree, don’t get me wrong the v8 is enticing, but and yes a big BUT!!! They are crossing wires to make just the antenna work. Now never mind EVERYTHING else they do to make it a Raptor??? All these modifications alone will cause gremlins in the near future. What about Baja mode the Raptor has all these sensors/modules etc to help YOU stay in control of the Raptor. I’m sorry the list of problems that WILL arise are endless. To pay 6figures is a nightmare only in time to happen!!! But again to everyone to each there own. I will add that full race(turbo company) is releasing factory casing turbos that will boost the Gen2 Raptor into 1000hp and from what I’ve read that can be tuned down to something more manageable especially for the street(I’m ok with 750-800 at the crank) of course it will need to be re-mapped. But I’m guessing for about 10g’s give or take of course. You have one killing v8 machine. Or like someone mention earlier roll the dice and see what Ford will do about a V8. I can’t see it happening in the near future they’ve spent MILLIONS in the eco boost. Gt 40 won the Le-Mann’s at it has a 3.5, taking out v8 and bigger.

Around 14:00 they mention that this truck has gen 1 shocks and a spacer lift...what the hell is going on there?? If they offer a complete Raptor conversion, why wouldn't their flagship truck have it?
