    I like the fact the FCA has answered everyone’s request with Jeeps. People started converting Wranglers to diesel, they gave us a diesel variant. People started converting Wranglers to V8, they gave us the 392. Thank you Italian FCA for giving us American Muscle.

For reference, all Baja mode is, is all the settings on the car cranked to max while having 4H on. So if they can just set it to Baja, then select 2H on the drive select, the cars will be in the equivalent of Sport mode, and can hit their best possible 0-60 times (although it’s prob not going to be that different, just ensures things are as tightly controlled for as possible).

All the vehicles are impacted by the altitude (I was initially surprised at the 392 time I saw when I skipped ahead until I remembered this was Colorado), but since part of the 4xe is electric, it may not be impacted by the altitude as much so may be closer to the 392 time than it usually is.

    I just installed a tuner on my bronco and wow did it really wake it up! Haven’t done any acceleration testing buts it’s definitely much better.
    Been reading with a tuner , exhaust and intake …the 2.7 bronco will easily hit the 6 second zone for 0-60 times…..
    So ya maybe spend $1500 to knock off 3 seconds …still cheaper than a raptor or 392 jeep.

    It would be nice if the Jeep was actually launched correctly because it would have been faster. Needs to be on off road + mode. It also has a launch mode called Torque reserve that you use in conjunction with off road + (or without) by pumping the brakes a couple time then holding and rev to 2500rpm and hold. You will notice a distinct engine note change then mash it and away you go!

    • @ImTaintedSaint
      @ImTaintedSaint 2 года назад +4

      I was not aware of the torque reserve, and the off road + mode is kind of named poorly if entirely usable on pavement. I know it adjusts fueling and shift points, I suppose it should just be sport mode. I agree it could've been a bit faster although the high altitude is still holding it back some.

      The bronco raptor was not meant to be a quarter mile dominator. It was meant much like the original raptor F-150 to be a Baja desert runner. It means having a suspension that can handle the desert woops at speed, a drivetrain that can handle all the jarring around, and performance for you to go quick, and the build quality to keep it from falling apart. It was meant to be more of a desert runner, and still a great off-road rock climber. @@CJColvin your 5.0 won’t tow even a fraction of what the 2.7 will, nor will it get anywhere near the fuel economy. Nowhere near as comfortable. And I’d rather have my family in a new vehicle if we were to crash over that old truck.
