Having mentioned the TRX launching better without launch mode, I'd still put my $ on the R edging it more times than not. But remember, this took Ford 2 years and tens of thousands more $$ msrp to match. And it likely wouldn't be here at all if it weren't for the TRX. @@markrode7331 Yep, that's what I was going to say. This whole segment of high performance factory baja trucks exists because Ford dared to try it first. But credit is due to Ram for lighting a fire under Fords ass to put a V8 back under the hood of the Raptor, competition is good for everyone.

The stock BFGs on my Gen 2 were maxed out at 109, better off-road tires are less than that. The V6 is best for off-road applications - but the TRX and R are marketed to those who care more about theoretical specs than actual performance off-road. If you wanted to really be fast on the road you'd get a HO 3.5 Platinum or a Lightning. A tuned Gen 2 will outpace a TRX, but they usually die after about 100k.
@T4nkcommander The RaptorR tires are rated at 114 mph.... which the speed limiter is set at. However, Car And Driver claimed that the limiter started holding the RaptorR back after 110mph. They claim the RaptorR should have gone from 110mph to 112 mph in half the time. They got RaptorR to 110 in 11.1 sec and TRX in 11.8 seconds respectively.
@@richardmodglin3900 that's because the stock raptor is limited to 108 because that's what the stock tires are rated for. I find it hard to believe the R tires are rated for more than that, but no doubt they didn't change the limiter value. Most other off-road tires are rated for less speed.

From what I see it's pretty much a drivers race between the Raptor R and the TRX
The TRX can win is people how to used like the launch control
Throw 500 lbs in the raptor box and do it again lol
😮 those trucks are beasts... My Hyundai car hit a 18 seconds to a quarter mile🤭🤭 and can make only a 114 mph top speed.. awesome trucks..🥰❤️🇮🇳🔥
Nathan’s ice cap joke was the perfect start
Hands down the hummer, wow just amazing
Nice to see the hummer ev go a whole quarter of a mile without breakdown, now after that, I’m sure it could use an hour on the charger
No surprise The Raptor is KING and BAD ASS .. That Raptor R is sick
The HUMMER EV of course had the best sound 😊... Silence 😁
Sound is close between that Raptor R and TRX but then when you add the under the hood sound … ugh that Hellcat whine is lovely
The Raptor R almost lifts the front wheels off the ground! Awesomeness! The raptor took the TRX to gapelbeez. I’m selling my TRX immediately
Andre in both trucks the TRX went 13.13 to the raptors 13.29 the TRX still wins the kid couldn't launch it.
@@1wide7 13.31 for the Ram
World record for the TRX is 3.6 0-60 and 12.1 quarter mile. At sea level, on a prepped strip. The Raptor R matched those numbers when it was half a mile above sea level and on a road.
@@The-fs5wn More than just drag times though. There are more settings to the TRX that could be optimized for this. How do they both do in a Baja setting instead of a flat race, which they're more made for.
@@teacatstudios3236 Raptor wins Off-road pretty much, it's already been said many times over that it's much more confidence inspiring and has a way better balance in weight and suspension so when it jumps or hits hard bumps it absorbs and lands properly and soft. Very polished and poised and well mannered. The TRX is good too, but it's heavy front weight and overall abilities don't match the Raptor as well.
That R still didn't make as much pollution in 3 races as that hummer is going to at the charging station
Or when it’s on the back of a diesel truck being hauled in for repairs
Way to prove you know absolutely NOTHING about crude oil refining. Hint it uses massive amounts of chemicals, energy, water and electricity plus cobalt to refine every single gallon of gas or diesel used. 👍🏻😂
Awesome video! I would go for that Predator all day long! Cheers!
The R and TRX sound Amazing!
Raptor R is a killer
Raptor R is and always will be the best sounding stock truck ever made. Absolutely phenomenal.
the most important is performance not a sounds...! and there is no chance for raptor to beat trx, this is BBS !!!!!
I own a TRX and almost bought a Raptor. Interior goes to the TRX which is way better. With a pulley upgrade and tune 800+hp easily.
5:38 😂 the hummer ev sounds the best!
Nah, just kidding. I’ll take the Raptor R
The Hummer wins just as the🪫 light comes on 😂
Hey Nate im in California right now and believe i just saw you on the 405 in a Ford Raptor’. I looked over and said I think thats Nate ‘ i was in the Big Ford white Box Truck . We gave each other a Nod “. Love the Channel and all its Content! 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Finally a fair race between the Raptor R and TRX, unlike Vehicle Virgin (TRX had 2 huge spare tires in the back of the and heavier aftermarket steel bumpers…)
TRX just needs to lose a little weight.
I think the Ford Raptor R and the RAM TRX both have a really good exhaust sound.
they both sounded pretty amazing. I think the raptor sounded a bit better but damn they both sound mean!
Ram seeing the taillights of a Ford.👑
Except the ride.
I really miss your videos guys with the TRX.
TRX the Best ❤❤❤
Great video! But I wanted to see the rolling race between the R and hummer.
That R on 37s is just legendary! The looks, the sound, the capabilities! What a machine!
Raptor r made the raptor look like a regular f150. I’m sad the TRX didn’t do better, but of the group it’s still my favorite. Of course I could never justify purchasing one, I’ll stick with my 99 Dakota 5.2 manual 4x4 that cost less then $1500.
Amen to that brother man
That kid didn’t know how to launch the TRX properly.
I had a 5.2l auto 2wd 99 Dakota. The thrill of lighting up the back tires is still more exciting then modern vehicle. Tho it doesn't carry over into the high end
I am glad the TRX exists. The Ford is the obvious choice, but the TRX is a great option for drivers who's sexual preference is "family". People who date their sister need fun too! thanks, Dodge!
😂😂😂😂😂 gtfoh dodge Dakota
I watched i dif video where Ram beat Raptor R . I say switch drivers . The kid cant hang
Having mentioned the TRX launching better without launch mode, I'd still put my $ on the R edging it more times than not. But remember, this took Ford 2 years and tens of thousands more $$ msrp to match. And it likely wouldn't be here at all if it weren't for the TRX. Give RAM a couple years and see if they strike back with the red-eye engine. Either way, both excellent trucks! Where is GMs comparable entry!!!?!
True to thank trx for pushing ford to do the V8. But thank ford for the whole segment 👍🏼
@@markrode7331 Yep, that's what I was going to say. This whole segment of high performance factory baja trucks exists because Ford dared to try it first. But credit is due to Ram for lighting a fire under Fords ass to put a V8 back under the hood of the Raptor, competition is good for everyone.
It took the TRX 10 years to get past the normal Raptor and it still lost the only desert race between the two by a significant amount.
So we have the Raptor, the TRX(t-Rex), now I’m wondering if Chevy will develop a truck called the meteor?
Anybody sensing a history lesson here or is it just me🤔🤓
All that I care about is seeing the Raptor smoke the TRX!!!
These two trucks come down to the driver. I'd say it's a loss for the raptor since it'll cost 20-30 thousand more in price compared to trx.
Ford is garbage I used to have their first gen raptor and that is trash raptor r is no better..
I’ve owned Ford Trucks since I’ve been driving, you couldn’t pay me to drive a Ram, I’d gladly pay more for a Raptor..
@@DaRevrin The difference is that the raptor is fully loaded at that price though (with 37", lighter and better suspension).
Configurate a trx with all options and see the price.
First it would be the TRX then the Rapter R then the Rapter then the hummer Trx is the best
Wow 109 mph raptor r! Are those huge tires even rated for that speed? Downsize the raptor to smaller tires like the trx and it would be even faster!!
Yes for sure. A lot of people don't realize the tires make a huge difference! Either way both badass trucks 🤘
@T4nkcommander
The RaptorR tires are rated at 114 mph.... which the speed limiter is set at. However, Car And Driver claimed that the limiter started holding the RaptorR back after 110mph. They claim the RaptorR should have gone from 110mph to 112 mph in half the time. They got RaptorR to 110 in 11.1 sec and TRX in 11.8 seconds respectively.
Ha, my 2010 Tundra 4x4 longbox will do 116 mph before the limiter kicks in..
@@richardmodglin3900 that's because the stock raptor is limited to 108 because that's what the stock tires are rated for. I find it hard to believe the R tires are rated for more than that, but no doubt they didn't change the limiter value. Most other off-road tires are rated for less speed.
Ammmm.... Thats definitely not true in the TRX... There where no launch control activated there and definitely there was a lack of power. Fixed race
Love that Raptor!
Can you guys do an autocross/track race? Wants to see which truck has better handling at higher speeds. Wondering if the lighter v6 would have an advantage?
Put some lightweight drag radials on that raptor R !🤩😎
You're seeing the beauty of Ford's 10 speed transmission. The Raptor (in that configuration) will always utilize the power band better than the TRX.
weight and lower gears. for a truck that weighs 6 to 7 hundred pounds more the trx made it a close race . also 373 vs 410
Once again! Raptor R with 1 liter less displacement, wins against the TRX 😊😊
Yea higher altitudes ford sucks in more air it’s gonna win it’s been tested at sea level it’s the opposite if you check out the throttle house race in California
The TRX drubs it everytime at normal altitude. You are high.
@Amer Shalhout I've seen multiple at altitude videos and the R wins all but 1.
That Predator is just like his smaller brother, the Coyote 5.0, incredibles engines!
@@Buckyoub go check out other races at sea level the raptor wins every time. Throttle house is the only ones on RUclips where the TRX wins lol
Did Case even brake boost the Raptor? 🤔 I know it would not have beat the R but probably have done a little better.
Modern day trucks don't like to be messed with at launch. You're just inviting torque management to show it's face and bog you out.
@@WilliamStewart1 the raptors actually can take a little brake boost. It will help eliminate some turbo lag that Case had. But most newer trucks have their systems limiting them
