If trucks were meant to drag race they would not be shaped like a brick 🧱
I don`t know about the Dodge trans of today however in 2007 I had a 4x4 dodge and it always took about a second or two for it to finally get wound up. I think it was a Dimler throw back for diesel motors.
Buck Fords😢
The only thing they are racing for is to be #1 in recalls. Ford 8 million recalls. Dodge and Chevy 3 million recalls each

That F350 Super Duty HD Duelly doing a 15 second quarter is insane !
A dozenor so years back a race tuned 6.0 powerstroke was good for mid to low 14s. The new trucks are pretty quick stock.
Those '90s Dodge trucks 12 valve turbo Cummins would scoot around the 15/16 sec time
They are probably at a million ft above sea level too as usual
1,200 foot pounds of torque will do that
Makes me wonder if the 4.30 final drive in the F450 is enough to overcome the additional weight and allow it to keep up with the F350.
Would love to see a drag race with loaded trailers
Lol every one of them...
Would end up with CELs 😂
10,000 lb trailer and they hit over 80mph in 1/8th mile
The Ike is pretty much that
1000% just like how motor trend used to do with diesel power challenge!
Let's see it TFL

I love this channel. Who else is racing brand new Dually trucks? Well done gentleman.
Thanks for the kind words!
Especially when it's not my truck. Sure I'll Rev it up and burn some tires. Who cares if I smoke the tranny and burn the torque converter? It's not my truck.
@@ms.annthrope415If it can't handle a little drag race, especially being new, they should stop making them. A drag race is nothing compared to what those trannys and torque converters go through going through mountains under load
The torque of the Powerstroke is amazing

The drag race we never knew we needed 😂
No. I knew I needed this
Watch 2017 diesel power truck challenge, drag race with a 10,000 lb trailer and they hit over 80mph in 1/8th mile. Ridiculous
The Cummins straight 6 has never been able to keep up with the V8's off the line. Fortunately, in real world conditions that does not matter.
@@SuperSnakePlisskenyeah haha that’s funny
Says who?
It's amazing how fast these big trucks have gotten. Granddaddy would freak out!!!
I’m always thinking that when driving my dually
Actually kind of scary 😂
I remember when I had a 2004 F250 SRW 6.0 PSD, 6-speed auto and an Edge Attitude tuner. It was putting down 500+HP and 800+Ft/LB. Somehow that truck was running WAY faster than what this brand new F-series is doing here with supposedly more HP and torque.
@@FlipCamFilms My Dad passed years ago, his last pickup was a 74 or 75 F-250, Pretty sure he never even imagined a truck like we have now. I think of him sometimes when I'm driving, just what would he think of a truck like this. Probably kick my ass for spending that much money!
@09dave1952 yep same my old man had a 88 250 idi. Same same curious as to what he would think of these new monsters. My 2019 350 is a workhorse, have yet to be in a situation where I would question whether or not I could move something.
Roman half a second after the race starts: “Oh it’s close!” 😂
Ford puts a bus on him “it’s close” 😂
Super happy about my 2023 HO powerstroke purchase!
You can see just how fast those V8s are, while the Ol’ trusty inline 6 Cummins is totally fine just being a tractor.
As long as the frame doesn't bend!
@timcheek5134 oh stop it the guy who bent the frame over l9aded the truck for more then 25,000 miles you goon
Google Ford dually with camper bends frame, pics out there
@@xcheifx1 Nah its common witth those dodge. The local shed haulers stoped using ram 3500s, as was not rare to bend the frame. Or now with the new hydraulic lifters on cummins drop a lifteralso common. So they now went all ford or Ram 5500. Ram 3500 frame bending is not a myth. In fact i was unaware of it till a shed hauler in my church had his snap in half-literally in half as he came to a stop sign. Patched it back together , and got it welded back together with reinforcements , then sold it with the quickness. 😂
The issue is the transmission. A 6 speed vs 10 speeds.
Wow. The Ram is so slow and the Ford is wicked fast!!
I wish you guys would hook a trailer up to the trucks with …say 25,000lbs… and do drag races like the big rigs race. That would be so interesting.
It would probably be the same outcome.
I'm more concerned which one is going to last the longest.
@@windrider65 yeah that’s why I am still driving a ram mega. I have had fords and got tired of the issues with the motor

Serious question. Why is the Ram SO slow ??
I was worried about Tommy's Coyote for a second😂. That F350 HO moves on!
My favorite was your Mustang versus F350, shocking!
That Ram is a turtle with wheels!!😢🐢
Unloaded, yes. But with 30,000 lbs or 15,000 lbs of trailer? The Ram's gearing will get rolling first.
No, my 1996 f350 7.3 is a turtle.. lol but it's been paid off over 22 years .still pulls fine.

You must not have noticed how many people nowadays buy these trucks to be fashion statements driven around empty all the time.
I think not, most of these newer trucks aren’t even purchased to work anything more than a half ton can do, it’s a look at me statement.
@@thesunflowchannel1995just cause you can doesn’t mean you should a half ton won’t last you long towing

Thank you for including info about rear axle ratios...had the ford been equipped with 430 gears the results would have been even more brutal. Great video
Or even with 3.73......
True comparison would be all three trucks with same gear ratio. What did we have, 4:10, 3:65, and 3:42 gears? Going by memory on those ratios, didn't go back and look at video...
@@boot3682 RAM has 3.50 vs Fords 4.69 ratio for the transmission makes the RAM still at a disadvantage for this test..
The transmission gearing make axle ratios moot...Transmission ratio's play a bigger roll in todays vehicles, more so than axle ratio's..Thats why the Ford takes off like that! Its not the engine, its all transmission!! True have them both 4.69 transmission 1st gear ratio and both 4.10 gearing and same weight to find a true test!
Ford has the performance combo..4.69 transmission ratio for 1st gear to make it blast off the line, then 3.42's for 40 mph-top end performance!
Fords 4.69 trans ratio made it leap frog off the line and the 3.42 gears help it go quicker past 40 mph,so the RAM had the disadvantage for off the line with its 3.50 1st gear and 4.10's for 40 mph -top end speed those dont help it take off or have quick times!
@@mypronouniswtf5559 the f350 in this video had 3.55 gears buddy… and it still smoked the 4.10 no problem. give the f350 4.10 gears and it would be a slaughter show

That was fun! I was surprised the Ram didn't do better. I have a 2020 F-350 dually and after pulling the camper for a few days and then parking the camper, the truck is like driving a big go cart! It's amazing how something that weighs 9,000 lbs can jump up and run like that.
Seems that Stellantis has been resting on its laurels. Maybe because they are concentrating on BEV's and not upgrading their current line up frequent enough.
The Ram has a useless transmission that really has zero business being in any vehicle at this point.
The HO ram tranny us a turd. The defuel between the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts kills it. The standard output engine with the 68rfe would be better for this drag race as it is the quicker of the two. The HO/aisin is great for pulling down a house though.
😮😮
Ehoubgh said. I. Have 2007 5.9 that. Will out perform you all
Ford was once again Fast On Race Day! Lol
The power stroke was impressive ... Kept up with a 5.0 Stang up to 60 mph. Impressive.
That's one fast dually!!!
What r u saying bro doesn’t know what he’s talking about
Blown away how the Ford350 kept up with the 5.0 for a short while. NEVER saw that coming! Now I understand all the hype with the 6.7L Diesel Tuners.
They are at elevation which has a worse effect on the NA 5.0. These two vehicles aren’t even close really. Modern diesels are awesome though. Running them clean is the biggest limitation though. Not that they don’t already make over practical levels of power.
My 2017 with tune and delete is crazy considering the weight. To pass some one I only need to floor it for a few seconds and then just coast past them with all the speed its built up. And I'm only running stage 3 out of 5 with maybe a 200hp gain. Gained 100 klicks per tank too over stock.
Im new to trucks and diesel and my f250 got bawlz! 😂
Ive had several power strokes. Love em ..
This race needs to be done, but when all three vehicles have 200,000 miles on them. See how much they hold up.
@@timstappler5522are you high? These have the worst quality objectively. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Best Keeps commercial in the game. That hat flip 😂
Only 3 things I care about from my Ford F250 6.7 diesel: be dependable, durable, and reliable. I don't care if another brand can tow 2 seconds faster or even 5 seconds faster. I don't care if one brand rate their carrying capacity 500 pounds more. I don't care if one brand can run the 1/4 mile 25 mph faster.
I want to start every time, not break down, not be a service bay queen, be dependable, and work to get me there and get me back. Work for a couple of hundred thousand miles with some care and maintenance. Get me to the blistering hot desert, carry me across the frozen winter, and not leave me stranded.
I wanna see the ford race the dodge, just for comedic purposes. Lol
Same. They should have just did a 3 wide race for perspective.

I have a F350 dually with 4.10's and its wicked fast for its size. When I come to a stop light all cars go into the other line because they think im gonna be slow pulling a camper. When I start pulling away from the pack they all pull back in line behind me. Happens at every stop light.
You're awesome. I wish I was you
@@jeffreyrogers8151 Yeah, I dont blame you.
No big surprises here, the V8’s are better at making revs and horsepower. And that Cummins is made to pull, not to mention the Aisin shifts like a dump truck “for pulling”
The V8 tows better as well moves more air at 80mph Duramax and power stroke are far superior at towing heavy in western states with high speeds and mountains
6 speed vs 10 speed, 10 speed will always pull way harder
@@lamarbeachler7738you clearly don’t tow a lot. The in-line 6 is the best engine out of all of them. This isn’t an opinion, this is consensus between diesel mechanics, engineers and consumers. The V8s are more unreliable because they have more going on, the inline 6 makes torque low from the jump and is tried and true. I’m sorry but objectively you’re wrong. Hope you enjoyed it!
It would be interesting to see ford's 6.7 regular and high output up against eachother

I absolutely love my '22 Ram 3500, but the performance is sub par compared to the V8 rigs BY FAR. The new Ford looks to be pretty impressive.
The Straight 6 will out last a V8 in durability
A straight 6 will deliver more torque but lack horse power. This races was designed for the V8's. For longevity, fuel mileage, and lifetime parts replacement prices, i will take the Cummins all day.

Loved this video, more please!!
So much fun. Love the drag races. Thanks guys
S
Shows that Stellantis needs to update their power train game across their entire line up.
Cummins isnt stellantis
@@Glibzern this case it partially is. In that, Ram is owned by stellantis & they’re going to have the final say on what powertrain is in that ram truck. You can bet that FCA/RAM/Stellantis & the competition with gm & ford is why there’s even a 420hp/1075tq rated Cummins engine available. Cummins is content with keeping the non-Ram B6.7 @ 325/750.
Personally, I think the ram is fine for actually doing the work, other than they need to get away from the 2 different power/transmission ratings on the diesel. I do think the I6 will benefit from an upgraded transmission (8-10 speed) as well.
Love the drag races!!!
They ALL are beasts. Really depends on what brand you like.
Good content guys.. Keep it up...
It would be very cool to see the standard output Powerstroke vs. new Duramax! Can you set that up
I'd like to see the standard output Powerstroke race a high output Powerstroke to see how much difference their really is.
While not serving any real practical purpose, insomuch as how these truck are used in real life, I have to admit it was FUN! Actually all three of these trucks are solid. Kind of comes down to individual preference. Good video boys!
I like both Ford and GM, both are truly fantastic trucks but we knew going in that Ford had a huge advantage with it's almost 300 foot pounds torque more and a bit more horsepower as well
15.5 out of the box is crazy
At huge altitude too !!
I'll take one of each, please.. 😊
I remember what a diesel tuner show on TLC or discovery back in early 2000s. Some of those trucks were just getting over 1000lbs/ft of torque.
Really fun. Great presentation and interesting to see how fast the new Ford dually is for an overweight monster :-).
That Ford is a beast! The Chevy is pretty quick too.
But they don't have Cummins engines, which are best for those of us who didn't buy our HD trucks for drag racing!
Ive been seeing people get low 7 second o-60 with a 4x4 HO Powerstroke Dually with 4.10 gears.
This Channel and because of Tommy is the reason i got my F250.. huge thanks to you all..love this channel and keeping it real!
great video, if the race against the Mustang was uphill the f-350 would win
Well, racing downhill even dodge would win it.
Would love to see them drag race and brake race with loaded trailers. Fun video though!
There are so many factors involved here. How fast the transmission puts power to ground, axle ratio, percentage of total engine output being used and how warm the engines were because diesels have way less power when cold.
Yup, you sure are right about that.
So wouldn’t that make the Chevy more warm than the ford?
Wow the aluma-duty is quick!
Awesome been waiting for this video thanks !!!
Poor ram, the aisin needs to go. I'm on my second one and I'll probably get a super duty if ram doesn't make a trans change for 24. The truck is very underwhelming to drive.
Thanks for the video! I love these!
I have 13 rams with that transmission i feel the same way, although i put a pedal commander in my truck and omg did it wake it up. Fun to drive now no turbo lag and i cant believe how restricted that pedal is before i added it. Doesn't add any more power but for 300 bucks it was so worth it
Sweet race ... Ty for sharing
Love it. Absolutely love the races. The rolls are cool too.
This is why I love TFL.
Fun times! The Ram is slow in comparison. Funny though it's not really slow just crazy how far trucks have come
Yes, my uncle had a 1990 3500 Dodge Cummings "1st gen" & that th8ng was so slow it wouldn't hardly get out of its own way.
@@scottyellis3442 🤣 reliable though!
@mikecarmean1676 yes, very reliable. My uncle used his in his logging business & if you know anything about logging they are extremely rough on equipment, but the old Cummins held up.
The first gens with auto trans were horrifically slow. The 5 speed getrag wasnt to bad, especially when you turned the power screw up. :)
Roman, you didn't have your mirrors in for the 2nd and 3rd race, plus if you didn't allow for a complete cool down after smoking the Cummins, you were at a distinct disadvantage racing the Ford that had been cooling it on the sidelines. 🤔
It's just slower dude accept it. When it comes to trucks Ford is the best.
I have no need for a truck like this, but it was entertaining to watch. That Ford is impressive for a truck that size.
Fantastic video great job! Need to Try with tow mode engaged.
Great Entertainment!!, Thank You fellows., I felt embarrassed for the RAM though😣😣
Yeah my brother-in-law has been driving ram and now it's switching to Ford , 23 model. My buddy bought a 2019 ram and with less than 30,000 miles drover for about 3,000 and the transmission went out. But the interior on the new Dodge's are amazing and they look really good fixed up
My 2017 RAM 3500 HO feels like it doesn't have full power until 3rd gear. But when I'm pulling a 5th wheel, it feels like the power is there from the get go. I figured RAM limited the power from take off when empty.
What does it feel like to own a turd?
I would be willing to bet the I6 will be around long after the v8 diesels are dead. I do admit in stock form the v8 diesels are fast. Cummins a hell of a lot better for heavy loads.
Love it! Great info, great Chanel!
Love these types of races.
The Ford would've been even faster with the optional 4.10 gears
You think? It would've run out of breath sooner. It would've helped in the 8th but the quarter would probably be slower.
I dunno with a 10 speed.. My HD van basically is wasting fuel in 1st gear because it's geared so low. It really catches it's groove in 3rd (1:1).
Would have been faster without that heavy panoramic moonroof and heavy power running boards. Would love to see a light weight high output STX run the quarter mile.
The Ford would have gone even faster with a better driver. Love Mr. Truck but his reflexes aren't what they use to be.
The duramax had a 3.42…. Of course it’s faster.
AMAZING VIDEO. NICE TO SEE MR TRUCK BACK. WAY TO GO FORD. I BLEED BLUE.😀
Good show!! Thanks
I love these videos, reminds me of when my friend and I heat soaked our cars at a “run what you brung” drag event so we let them cool off by taking the tow rigs down the strip
I think the gear ratio definitely has a something to do with it.
4.10 ratio is really good for for pulling heavy loads.
I really want to see this pulling 25,000 pounds and see who wins!
Great video!
I would imagine that the outcome would be the same but they would all be equally slower
Yep. 4.10 would be what I preferred in a dully. Just saying.
I never dreamed a Powerstroke would out run a duramax.
And that's with ford having torque management 1-3 gears and ford would be even faster if it had the 4.10
The Ford also has that heavy panoramic moonroof and power running boards. We have known since last generation that the panoramic moonroof slows the Ford by .3 in the quarter mile. Without the weight of the panoramic roof and power running boards, that Ford would have run high 14's.
Hilarious content. Keep it going guys!
Thanks guys.
The problem with these high powered truck are some of their owners. They will pass you towing a trailer doing 80+ mph which isn’t safe at all. But these new trucks have so much power they can easily tow a 10K load at that speed forgetting the trailer’s tires (and sometimes the trailer) isn’t designed for sustained high speed cruising.
100% true! Trailer tires, especially RV tires, are designed for 55 mph, which, incidentally, is where these trucks get their best fuel economy. My Ram gets around 20 mpg at 55 mph (with a high top camper shell and about 500 lbs in it). If I go 70, I get around 15 mpg. That means 150 miles further on EVERY TANK of fuel!
Pulling our little 7500 lb travel trailer, I have no trouble accelerating up any hill with the Cummins, and we average around 16 mpg.
Never been inclined to drag race, so just prefer the mileage and the longevity and reliability
of the Cummins (plus, it's a more comfortable truck)
These drag races are so much fun to watch. I am not a "Ram guy", but I love that Cummins inline 6.
It is one of the most capable engines ever made. I wonder what this race would look like if they were all towing a trailer.

Awesome keep it coming lov the diesels
Yeah, I figured the Ram/Cummins would get beat. But by 1.5 seconds in the 1/4-mile? That really hurts. I drag raced my '01 Ram/Cummins a few times and ran 16.30's with a 5-speed manual.
Something of that size moving at that speed is absolutely terrifying.
A detune truck will usually outlast a truck that has added power to them. Most people that buy diesels dont buy them to drag race but for pulling and safely go downhills . All 3 trucks can pull 31000 no problem, but the question is how well does it hold the load back downhill.
I've pulled with all three hauling over 25k, and the ram has best exhuast brakes and was most comfortable pulling heavy loads. You should do a 31000 down hill exhuast brake and see who touches there break the least and maintain a certain speed down Ike gauntlet.
That's a hat-trick, spelling "touché there break" all wrong
WOW! The Dodge/Ram was in Snell mode.
Fun!
…but which gets the best mpg unladen, max carrying, max towing?
I am a GM guy but kudos to Ford on this one. I actually think all 3 are pretty awesome trucks.
You should be ashamed to admit that GM builds the worst garbage out there
The 6 speed killed that Ram
They’re still using the 6 speed?? 🤦♂️
Agree with the 6 speed is a killer . also Ram has little horsepower to carry the load after the engine passes it peak torque.
Exactly. This is just as dumb as the first time they did it.
It's not the transmission. The V8 diesels are just faster. The Cummins is massively detuned from the factory due to emissions. The pedal won't let you go faster after a certain point
I don't know why Dodge doesn't use Allison transmissions! They don't make their own motor why would they make your own transmission
Old TFL is back...Do the dual tow MPG runs with them big boys
That’s good fun right there
