Calling all our American fans - this one’s for you!
Mat’s got his hands on the all-new Hennessey Velociraptor R 6x6, and he’s going head-to-head against the Hennessey F-150 Venom 775!
So let’s see how these two all-American pick-ups compare. Starting with the Velociraptor, it’s based on the Ford F-150 Raptor R. This means it comes equipped with the same 5.2-litre supercharged V8 that can deliver 700hp and 870Nm of torque. This power is sent to all SIX wheels via a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
The Velociraptor looks absolutely wild, and of course, it’s had a whole load of work done to it to add the additional set of wheels, including extending the load bed, and the additional of an extra axel! As a result, this means it’s super heavy, weighing in at around 3,500kg!
Alongside it we have the Venom 775. This is also based on a Ford F-150, but under the bonnet, you’ll now find a 5-litre supercharged V8 that can put down 775hp and 929Nm! This power is sent to all four wheels via a 10-speed auto, and it tips the scales at 2,187kg.
So how will this one play out - will the 6 wheels of the Velociraptor propel it to victory? Or will the weight difference drag it down? There’s only one way to find out for sure - LET’S RACE!

I'd definitely want to see these in an off-road challenge, see if those extra set of wheels are worth the extra cost of a detached house
The challenge is if it is any trail with obstacles such as trees, choke points, requiring tight manoeuvres, narrow sections etc (as many are) the 6x6 will too big though the F150 R may itself be too big as well.
I think it's as dumb as it looks, just another Hennessy..
Only where this concept originated does it make sense: on military off-road vehicles with a high payload. Of course these 6x6 trucks don’t make sense, but neither does a iced-out Rolex
The only way that thing will be worth the price of a detached house, is if the buyer comes with totally detatched sense.

@@user-qw9gz4qr1eoff suspension weight weighs a car down x5 more than on suspension weight. If a wheel and tire weight 100lbs, that’s 1000lbs of weight right there for the 2 extra wheels, not including everything else. Thats why Carbon Fiber parts are so sought after for off suspension parts

I was very surprised with the 6X6 performance, for having over one ton of weight against the F-150. It held its own down the quarter. What an Engine 💎

I agree. I’m it’s defence though, the Raptor’s tires aren’t designed to go high speed on tarmac, so I wonder if that had anything to do with it.

@CARWOW please can the production team use dedicated mics to capture the sound revs whenever it gets to that point rather than using inbuilt camera mcs to capture the revs. Because I have been noticing that the revs from inside the car even sound better just because there is a dedicated audio capturing source.
We need more commuter cars racing.
