- As relaxing and soothing as Epsom Salt baths are, what does science have to say? Thomas DeLauer (aka. Mr. Mineral) digs in and discusses what recent studies suggest might really be happening to your body during an Epsom Salt Bath.

I have had rheumatoid arthritis for 20+ years. If I take a bath without epsom salts I can barely get myself out of the tub. I usually have a cup of epsom salts in as hot a bath as I can bear. Not only can I get myself out of the bath, but I can work the next day (construction) with far less pain!
Use 15lbs and if you think it’s too much for the tub than use 8-10lbs it detox’s the both and go to a naturopathic dr or bio electrical magnetic master but you’ll have to be on a diet so that’s your call and they’re not really easy to find
I use half a bag!
You need to go on a anti inflammatory diet lady !
Ur a mess
@@comperhk5631your an idiot if you believe that. Who sold you that lie? Same guy you buy the salts from 😂
Me pouring in half a bag , as I'm watching this in the tub, .....
One thing i can say is that when i take my Epsom salt baths i sleep much better!
Probably more of an effect of your core temperature than the actual magnesium
Try to take a bath without the magnesium. Maybe you'll sleep just as well.
@@itsmeRizzG Magnesium has an affect on NMDA receptors you know.
@@itsmeRizzG lol no...
The study should have been done with ppl that have deficiencies in magnesium
Magnesium sulfate is a salt - its just not table salt. A salt is an ionic compound.
He wasn’t in chemistry class. Probably don’t know it’s gotten from a mixture of an acid and base.
"Salts" is a general term in chemistry, Mister ;)
so, yes, it is a salt

Salts are substances produced by the reaction of an acid with a base. A salt consists of the positive ion (cation) of a base and the negative ion (anion) of an acid. So yes, Epsom salt is indeed a salt...
Thank you, my trusted science based youtuber
Feels good and has worked well for achiness for years and that is good enough. Can't say any of that is ruined with or without it being through the mechanisms that lots of people have thought were responsible. I can tell the difference in getting different results from different bath additives too. So I continue to use the ones that make me feel good. There is probably also some sulfur reaction in cells from the heat of a crazy hot bath I would think. But again who knows?
what kind of epsom salt can drink?
So what’s the best mag supplement?
Well, might be magnesium sulfate (epsom). I read only 4 percent is absorbed from magnesiumoxide and 50 percent is absorbed from magnesiumcitrate. Latter is quite expensive. Epsom is very cheap, 4 dollar per kilo. Don't know the absorption quote though. Sulfate should help detoxifying aluminium from chemtrails. You must detox to keep your brain guys!
Either I’ve been saying cation and anion incorrectly my whole adult life or you have it wrong. Cat-i-on 🤷🏻♀️
hes not a doctor or a scientist this guy is a fitness guide seller
@@josephpchajek2685 sure crazy whatever you say
It's cat-i-on and an-i-on lol you're right
We're made mostly of water dude, where do you think the nutrients will go!
It works..!
They are pronounced an ions and cat ions not aneons and cateons.
All I know and who knows may be placebo or not. But I feel a significant difference when I take an Epsom salt. Especially after a ton of stress.
I'm gonna take a epsom bath before my basketball tryouts
Did it help?

Epsom salt foot soaks got rid of the fungal nail on my toe.
Yes.... yes they do.. but magnesium chloride baths are what the people in the know take... or if your the top 1% you take a epsom salt + magnesium chloride flakes + vitamin C crystal baths. Maybe even add a few drops of tea tree oil or lavender oil for added benefits! Lets go bath tub clan!
What’s the difference between Epsom salts vs magnesium chloride baths?
I also sprinkle a quarter cup or more of baking soda into bath with several drops of Jojoba oil in it aswell. 👍
Good morning JigsawHealthTV, thanks for your video. I am a frequent user of Exsom Salt and I must say that it really works. I take 1 tablespoon of Epsom Salt for laxative every Sunday morning and it does exactly what I want it to do. It effectively cleans my colon for about three hours and my energy level is sky-high. I just got Tendonitis in my right hand from doing a repetitive action over a three-month span and there is a voice in my head that commanded me to use Epsom salt in hot water, as hot as I can bear it and I did. I visited a doctor who deals with this problem after an ultrasound confirmed that I had Tendonitis, and he recommended that I took a shot (needle) for the problem. I refused and resorted to using the Epsom salt and in three months I was able to use my hand again. The problem was in my right hand so you can imagine the pain I felt when I had to use it. I just want to say that, Epsom salt works, it's cheap and effective. Please also note that the Epsom salt for baths is different from the laxative that you can get at drug stores, and it works without any cramps at all. I also used to get very frequent muscle pain, which is now completely gone. I will continue to use the Epsom salt, but I also take Calcium Magnesium as a supplement. Thanks for your video.
MgSo4 is a salt.
You are correct
Does an Epsom salt bath reduce water weight?
Not of the bathtub.
I frequently use it to reduce bloating, but l also stay in the tub at least an hour. Example, l took a 2 hr bath last night in water as hot as l could bear. Afterwards I hopped on the scale and was down 3 lbs. My skin was very soft, body and muscles felt relaxed and my tummy felt good, aka no more bloating. I also slept like a baby and am feeling refreshed this morning.
**l enjoy baths so l stay long in the tub and watch educational videos or listen podcasts.
Oh the way you say "anions and cations". I'll give it try though :)
There isn't a placebo effect it works
It would work even if there was a placebo effect though. That’s how a placebo works
will a person with high blood pressure die if he swim in sea ? coz of the salt content xD
No, as my mom is hbp patient, went to swim in sea beach... Nothing happened, everything was fine. ✌ just don't swallow sea water.
Yes..
Not sure about the studies but I know people have been using natural hot springs with natural minerals for thousands of years. People don’t do something for thousands of years for no reason lol
Who cares about serum magnesium? Doesent the serum keep levels stable?
In a deficiency this is probably near impossible
The study didn't have a control? That would answer your question of "maybe their levels were already too high". Non peer reviewed papers are as trustworthy as this guy selling magnesium as a cure all
“So we don’t know if it works, but let’s show you how it could work. Because we know you want to look like me.”

Dude you fail chemistry 101. Epsom salts is a salt. Being hydrated does not make it not a salt.

I had a bad tummy ache. Took a bath and made me shit.
Did you use bath salts..

Just realized that happened to me too last night. Didn’t think it was related to the 2 hr bath l took…but it might’ve.

how do epsom salt baths effect horse steroid injections in humans?
Um...

Hell yeah bro. If you inject bull excrement
nah bro you're good, still just as beneficial even if you're taking a magnesium supplement as well

Or, it could be that Epsom salt baths work because they give a negative gravity effect. You float.
Lmao, its a salt and ionating your body lol
