Hold up, y'all.. this is a TRUE sista here, telling us she's a real nigga!! Love it!! Seriously, I'm learning lots from her and I appreciate the lessons.
I feel so seen like I can rarely find full blooded popcorn headed ####$ and I think it’s cus our hair be so antagonized by all. And honestly some creators with our texture don’t truly have it bc the comb scenario or heat training… like it’s easy to define hair at that point since it’s not as dense or resilient 😭
And like you I also was always on top of my looks… I had my natural waves brushed okay! But before that I had a texturizer as a child which I despised as done by my parents like they ain’t make me this way smh glad I’m over that😂. I started to let my hair grow out trying to be more with my real texture at a long length now and got braids 2 months ago rather than my afro just out (not picked). I’m glad I ain’t do the comb or defining phase too long cus I really do think this hair type really don’t want to be treated like the others but I def needa embrace and do another style after I get these braids out yk BALANCE 💯❤️
@@Tsuferg it’s all about balance baby and yes our hair loves being free , all that styling to make our texture wave up be slowing down our growth, I’m always HAIR FOR YOU QUEEN !!!
This is SO true! I went on an intense growth journey and enjoyed doing my hair for many years. I grew it long and then I don't know what happened, after all of that work, I just stopped and I wore it in about 10 messy plaits for several years. Yes, something was not quite right now that I think about it. I was going through a major career/life shift--and I could wear my hair covered to work, which contributed to the neglect. If I *had* to do my hair I would have forced myself, but I didn't so I just kept the messy plaits in. I just did not want to do my hair or even think about it other than to wash it--focusing on my scalp, not the hair. Now my life has shifted again, sure enough, I'm interested in my hair again.
Wow , I know the feeling babe ! I’m glad you just left it alone while you focused… some people don’t even do that while the neglect , I’m glad you didn’t do something drastic like cut it all off to make life easier. Thank you for sharing your story babes 💋💋
I’m going to be taking down my faux locs in about four weeks. I work from 8-4 Monday through Friday. So, I’ll be taking down my hair and doing my entire routine through out the week. I’ve DEFINITELY considered using three days of sick time to take care of my hair, unbothered. You know my routine is EXTENSIVE when I’m spending time with my hair 😮💨😩, it’s just what I do!!! I’m doing mini twists for my next style, I’m kicking my long, dense, natural hair journey up a notch!!
Yasssss pretty lady take it up 3 notches 😂 and hell yes I definitely approve of you using them 3 days sick time lol 😂 they should give naturals paid time off anyways to get our hair done once a month anyways 🤣😂 thank you so much for your support, curl friend, I bet your hair got hella long and even thicker and you know you got some big hair !!!

I live in south Florida so most months I have to because the sun drives my hair out by end of day during the winter and high humidity hurricane season 4-5 times a week 😉
@@cocaknotzI was born in Miami so I know exactly what you’re talking about. I grew up and live in the northeast. The winters are brutal on hair. The air is dry, we don’t get much sun and my hair is porous. It absorbs everything so it stays dry. I never thought about spraying it daily with water. I’ll try it and see if it improves.

Trust me when I say straight-haired people have matted hair too...there are plenty RUclips videos. Ma'am leave my knots and kinks and coils alone. lol! this is why I have short hair...I get stressed to easily and then I need to go to the salon to make it look right again even if it means a cut...not a trim a cut!! Lol!

Your hair was uncombed, but it was never matted.
