I have alopecia. I am vegan and i dont eat gluten or sugar. I went on an auto immune diet for 4 months. I have a healthy gut. My hair didn't grow back at. I have tried EVERYTHING, when I say EVERYTHING, I mean EVERYTHING!!. So now, all I can do is stand on the word of God for my hair to grow completely back. The word of God says, things that are impossible with man, is possible with God. It is impossible for man to cure in-curable diseases (alopecia, cancer, glaucoma, etc)....but it's NOT impossible for God. If you are like me and you have tried everything to restore your hair, pray and ask God to regrow hair where man says hair will never grow in that area of your scalp again. AMEN!!
I know you’ve said you’ve tried everything, I’m just curious if you been checked for any underlying problems? Or checked to see if you have any vitamin deficiencies?
@@iamnilsa Yes. I saw a dermatologist. I have had blood work done. I've checked for vitamin deficiencies. I have had steroid injections years ago when I first detected a bald spot. I've tried every shampoo, vitamin, hair oil, etc. What has happened is the hair that I DO HAVE is growing and it's very healthy, but it's not even enough to catch into a ponytail. The crown is bald. My focus is not on the hair that I have, but the bald areas. I just purchased a laser cap with the red lights inside. Of course I have been told that it is not for scarring alopecia, but I'm willing to try it anyway. The cap was $800. So yes, I have tried everything, literally EVERYTHING. A woman's 👩🏽hair is her 👑 crown and glory 🕊✝️....and I don't believe that God intended for women to be bald. Of course, we have to do our part and take care of our hair. When I was much younger, before internet & RUclips, I didn't take good care of my hair. There was no information like we have today to help guide us in proper hair care. Black women were told that we couldn't have long hair. That was/is a lie, but we didn't know it. Our hair just needs moisture and natural protective styles and it will grow to our butts. Thank you for your RUclips channel. I appreciate you. May God continue to use you to get the message out on how we should pamper and take good care of ourselves and our hair. 💯🤝🏽❤️
Do you have relatives who also have Alopecia bc it can be inherited? Hair loss can also be caused by hormonal changes due to menopause. If neither applies to you, you may want to consult with a healthcare professional.
I completely understand how you feel. It definitely takes times to come to terms with dealing with this new issue in your life before you are able to move forward with your journey.
I just got diagnosed 3 weeks ago but it started about 2 or 3 months ago. So I hear you girl. I've been devastated. My hair was 35 inches long & thick & now, I can almost wrap a standard sized pony tail holder around my hair almost 3 times. I used to need the XL ponytail holders. I got my first steroid injections at my first derm visit (same day it got diagnosed), not gunna lie, I see growth in the injected spots but I'm still developing more & more bald spots & the spots that were injected did continue to get bigger even after injections. *all of which are typical findings, even after injections* I'm so sad about my hair loss. I just ordered my first wig, it comes in tomorrow. Im hoping that helps me cope while I wait for regrowth... I'm here if you want to talk. This is new to me, so I don't have a bunch of info, but I can share my experience & offer support 🥰💋 I hope you're doing okay.
Omg same! My hair was down my back in 2020 then after Jan 2021, my hair took a turn for the worst. Clumps of hair. Now I have a huge patch of hair gone but it is slowly growing back in now... But I have another patch on my nape too.
Changing your diet to more whole foods and less processed and drinking water does make a difference. I started taking Hair La Vie vitamins for hair growth, plus doing protective styling that doesn't stress my scalp and edges (crochet twists). I do scalp massages and use hair oils on my scalp. Stress is a huge factor. I noticed that once I started dealing with my stress in a more productuve way ( prayers, journeling, standing up for myself, cutting toxic people out of my life) I felt better and less stressed. I actually started loosing my hair as a result of extreme stress at home and work, but didn't make the connection for years. This is my time for healing.
Alopecia areata is a gut Problem. I have had no hair at all and since i healed Gut, the hair grows! Turmeric and barley gras powder helps a lot too! Good diet, no stress, juicing and herbs !
Sorry for the delay. I found out by going to the doctor. We started pretty much doing the process of elimination. That's how I found out that I have a gluten intolerance instead of a gull bladder issue lol

I'm a dude, without Alopecia Areata. Was curious about the disease and how people combat it, no real other reason to look Alopecia Areata up. Somehow I found myself glued to my seat for this whole video. Just thought I'd let you know that you did well to hold my attention, keep it up. Also, glad you've had great results now
I feel you 🙏🏽. I didn't get braids until my hair had started growing back. Even with the new hairs, you do have to be careful. I mentioned this in my video alopecia areata vs traction alopecia.
I was in a physically, sexually, and financially abusive relationship. My hair started falling out. I lost 50% of all my hair on the right side and 30% on the left side. I became insulin resistant and would regurgitate every time I bent over to pick up something. I escaped 3 months ago and I’m still losing hair. And my scalp hurts from the alopecia. I was diagnosed with Ptsd so it might be hard to get rid of the stress but I will try to take your advice of eating and hair care. See if anything changes.
I am truly sorry to hear that you went through that situation but I’m glad that you made it out! 🙏🏽🙏🏽 Yes, just take the first steps and one day at a time. Hopefully you’ll be able to get therapy, which can help with the mental part of that situation and possibly assist with some stress relief techniques that can help you with this. I wish you the best 🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️
I’m so sorry you went through that. My situation is similar. 2 years later I am finally healing with the help of my new support system, including people who relate to having alopecia areata as well. My hair is growing back in one spot so far. Keep your head up and have faith that your hair will grow ❤️
Stress is also a contributor to hair loss as well as alopecia so like the people in the comments are saying find a good way to relieve your stress and start your healing journey. Good luck
Thanks for this video. Changing eating habits and decreasing stress makes a difference. Having covid in December 2019 and covid pneumonia January 2021, I suffered hairloss. Using oils, peppermint and rosemary made a difference. ❤
I already had a long standing problem with my stomach and gut and have been taking medication for it. Then divorce totally killed my hair and it hasn't grown back at the front so I've shaved it all off. My diet is very good as I cook from fresh. Lots of fresh fish, vegetables and fruit. l don't eat fried food, it upsets my stomach's equilibrium. My advice would be as soon as anyone notices their hair is thinning or even falling out, jump on it with treatments. I just left mine hoping it would grow back on its own but it hasn't. Thanks for sharing your story. All the best.
I'm sorry to hear that. Are you still taking medicine? If so, I would suggest talking with your doctor. Someone commented a while back and stated they asked their doctor to change meds because some of the side effects were interfering with her hair growth. Once she changed meds, her hair started growing back. I hope this helps! 🙏🏽
Great video! I’ve been eliminating sugar and have seen a great difference in inflammation. I would love to see a video on some of the meals that you make, the pics you inserted look so good!
Thanks so much on this video on alopecia. Have been battling with it since 2004. Though was very small then but has expanded. I can't wait to see ur new video on diet. Thanks
Gosh! I needed to see this. I was diagnosed 4 months ago with Alopecia Areata. My traumatic event was my mom's passing. Eventually I went to the Derm, I'm currently using Minoxidil 5% which is helping but extremely slowly. Just today I found a new bald spot. I've been living in hats, beanies, bandanas etc and I am just over it. I've been a natural curly girl for 4 years already but stopped since I started my treatment because I have to apply it 2 daily and to get between them curls is no joke. BUT, this video just lifted me up! I will most definitely start trying to implement a proper eating plan into my life. Loved this video ❤️
I am glad to hear that this has lifted your spirits! I wish you the best on this journey! 🙏🏽 I post as much info regarding alopecia areata as possible (dieting & recipes, stress, and hair care) so definitely heck out some of my other videos. with love ❤️
I am here because my 15 year old daughter has hair loss, like almost the entire top of her head is hairless. It began with spots of baldness when she was 14. I think it might be related to puberty. She has always had allergies to dust and certain kinds of fruit make her tongue "tingle" (it is uncomfortable to eat certain things) and also raw carrots. My research says to cut out all dairy products and grains. But it would take at least 3 months to see results. I think covid restrictions, not going to school, has also added to her stress. She does tend also toward "junk" food. Desperate dad here:)
Awww, I am sorry to hear that. Have you confirmed with a dermatologist that she indeed has alopecia areata? if so, I would definitely recommend removing diary and any foods that she has allergies or sensitivities to. I do have a video on foods to avoid with alopecia areata that you should check out: ruclips.net/video/3FGVbNeXFPs/видео.html
@@ericzirk8422 I'm asking because there are different types of alopecia. If they confirm alopecia areata, I would definitely start with her diet and finding some stress relief techniques.
To those of you that don't know yet, glyphosate is the root cause of most health problems today. Changing diet in my case involved stopping eating foods grown or harvested with glyphosate and other pesticides. It's a very difficult and expensive decision but there is no way I can allow anything to rob me of my health, self esteem and happiness. The scientific world is full of shit and the one lie that I'll never buy from them is that the body attacks itself. Guys, change your diet. Eliminate foods with glyphosate from your diet. Wheat, corn, sugar, canola oil etc. If you must eat those things eat organic ones but stay away from canola oil and olive oils that are not organic. Your gluten and gut issues will disappear. Glyphosate wipes out minerals from the body and interferes with the normal function of many hormones.
@Sarahtimmerman Instead of saying "it's not that easy," try saying "how can I do it" because anything in life that is worth it will not be easy. This is an excuse and detrimental to your growth. Changing my diet was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I decided that me living a healthy life, without taking meds every day or in pain and being able to raise my kids and see my grandkids one day was more important. I came up with a plan and stuck to it. If I slipped it, I picked up from where I fell off.
I know this video is two years old. But as an someone who deals with alopecia and trying to use natural remedies opposed to steroids I greatly appreciate this video. Even if you have a flare up if you can still see hair follicles there is a chance for hair to grow back ! Keep stress levels low and take care of your body. Thanks sis ❤️
Absolutely! I’ve been committed to creating videos to help other people dealing with it! Definitely take a look at some of you have time or subscribe! 🙏🏽
I just want to say thank you for sharing ! You’ve helped me more than my dermatologist. I’m not a medicine person either I rather do it naturally. I have digestive issues as well for years and have skin issues due to it but never linked my alopecia to it. I’m going to clean up my diet. Thank you again this video is so helpful!
Heavenly Father, I ask for Your healing touch on all my sisters in Christ and me, on our head. Please open up our hair follicles so that new hair will start to grow. You know the number of hairs on our head. All for Your honor and glory in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Thank You, Father God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Amen. 🙏🌎🎚🦋
I just stumbled across this today, on Mother's Day, been down about my hair, haven't even left the house again on this Sunday, I see that this is what's going on with me, no doubt, I'm not in denial anymore. But I do truly get where this beautiful lady is coming from and stress has a majority part, plus my mental health, dealing with losses with family and employment due to covid, and so forth. Her story is exactly what I have and is experiencing and I know that I have alopecia and I need to change so much Starting Today! This is the best gift on this Mother's Day to myself and that is to start a new hair journey, better diet, and get a career I'm going to enjoy and love plus my hair care routine with a good protective style that I won't have to touch my hair. Thank You So Much for this Video!❤️💯❤️💯
These times have definitely been stressful, I completely understand! I’m glad this has helped! I wish you the best on your journey 🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️ and Happy Mother’s Day!
@iamnilsa Can I ask you how long it took to see hair growth in the bald patches using the oils, etc? Not until full length was achieved but when you started to see hair there. Is it achievable in 2 months or so?
Thank you for the great information. I have been dealing with hair loss for a while myself. I never knew that drama could cause so much damage to your hair.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I have changed my diet. Using oils and using protective styles. I also just retired from a very stressful job in the health care profession. I hope I see close improvement as you.
Ugh. I was just diagnosed yesterday. I’m trying my hardest not to break. But happy to see you’re doing better. I have also decided to begin my natural journey rather than steroids for regrowing the hair. Pray for me!
It's definitely a tough thing to deal with. Just take it day by day and do your best. Check out my video on foods to avoid with alopecia areata to help you on your journey. IN my prayers 🙏🏽
I damaged my scalp three years ago. I have hair, but very, very, very thin. My husband and I have been claiming 1 Corinthians 11:15 for me. Nothing yet. We keep asking the Lord, why No Miracles? We don’t have the answer. But we will continue reading His Word and ask Him to bless us. Blessed be His Holy Name. Jesus Christ. Amen
Rosemary is a dht blocker which prevents dht building up on your scalp. It also prevents testosterone from converting into dht . Drinking green tea can prevent testosterone from converting into dht. Once you experience too much and it converts to dht you have hair loss. Signs are thinning around the edges middle of the scalp. Rosemary, is a dht blocker and why it’s commonly used to regrow your hair. Yes guy health as well as colon health with help a lot. Bee propolis stop your body from attacking itself. I hope this helps someone. You can even get fresh rosemary leaves and steep them add drops of essential oil as she suggested ans and use as a rinse.
I’m here rn because for the last 3 years I been struggling to grow my hair but today I took down my box braids that I had in for a month & I have patchy bald spots .. I’m 14 and there’s nothing stressing me out in my life but the fact that my hair is not growing right , me and my mom will get it to grow and it will fall back out .. could someone please help me and lead me in the right direction. I don’t want to cut it off because I don’t have the self confidence to just wear it that short .. my hair falling out and growing back has made a dramatic change on my life sometime I be ready to just end it all just as for the simple fact that my hair won’t constantly grow .
I just want you to know that Jesus loves you sweetheart. Please know that this will pass, you are here for a purpose . God has plans for you Beautiful. Your hair is your crown of glory. I am praying you find what works. Are your braids too tight, are you oiling your scalp...drinking lots of water...taking vitamins? Diet and the hair products you are using are key. Prayers up for you.
I’m so sorry to hear that sweetie. What type of foods do you eat? Do you have any other health conditions? What do you put in your hair and on your scalp?
Kamaiyahh, I was reading the post and these woman are AWESOME! Your hair isn't worth dying for. We're our own worst enemy. They're spot on concerning your diet. I've dealt with it all to include breast cancer and other surgies. Jesus loves you so much, He died for everyone of us. He's the Ruler of the universe. He's able to more than you can ask or think according to the power that's working in you. Pray and invite into your life that He may come and support with you. Develop a relationship with Him. Allow Him to lead and guide you. He'll stick closer than any friend, brother, sister, or mother. I'm praying that you change your thoughts. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. Allow your thoughts to be positive thoughts. I'm praying a great outcome for you. Know that you're special and God has a plan for your life. I'm sorry but it angers me when the devil tries to take a precious life. Your life is more than your hair. I've had 7 surgies. I had a head full of hair. I've dealt with breast cancer and other things they've discussed and more. I'm grateful God spared my life! I don't know you but I love you because you're a precious soul. Blessings to you ma'am. To all of God's beautiful creation. Glad to see the love being shared.
@kamaiyahh Lewis. . Have you seen a doctor? I had the problem once and all i had to do was to aoply a prescription cream- i forgot the name- and my hair started growing back in days
Don't feel that way. Everything is a process. Be patient with yourself. You are learning and growing just like everyone else. God bless you beautiful❤️
My edges and the crown of my head have been bald for over 13 years due to several traumatic events and severe stress. I’ve done all of the creams, steroid shots, and other toxins with no results. I started changing my eating habits in summer 2017 and stopped all forms of medication, but my stress and anxiety hasn’t changed; and at times cause me to revert back to old eating habits. Shortly before my hair fell out, I was experiencing a lot of gut issues that have persisted over the years, but dramatically improves when I am able to stick to a fruits, nuts and veggies only lifestyle. You have given me so much hope and the confirmation I needed to know that my hair will grow back once I find a sustainable way to handle stress and anxiety 🙏🏾
Stress and anxiety are tricky because it literally comes down to your mind. I also had anxiety BAD about 6 years ago. Figuring out a way to handle it will definitely be a weight lifted off you. I watched a bunch of videos and read books to tried a few different things. The two biggest things that has helps me was a vision board and every time I think the worse thing is going to happen, I think the best possible thing will happen. It tricks your brain lol. I do believe once you have more control over your mind, your diet will be so much easier. ❤️
I’m actually dealing with similar situation and have been searching for videos and tips on how to grow my bald patches. But thankfully I found this video and it had calmed me down. Thank you so much for sharing 💕🙏🏾.
I'm glad to hear that! I really hope you start your journey! I literally just posted a video explain food to avoid and foods that help alopecia. You should check it out :ruclips.net/video/3FGVbNeXFPs/видео.html
This really helped me I'm eating bad ,I weigh 230 ,I'm bone on bone ,and have inflammation and arthritis. I eat bad, trying hard to stop .I love cheese, fries, hamburgers ,fried chicken, Mac and cheese all day.And God let me make it to 60,so I'm really going to try, what you said.A lot of stuff happened in my life ,my Mother, Grandmother,Sister and some close Friends ,A Ex,that I still loved all died within one year. Please Pray for me and again Thank You for this info.
You can do it! I know it's hard, but you can do it. I try to look at it like this... our body's job is to keep us alive. We make it easier on our bodies by feeding it things that help keep us healthy. You can start by changing your current recipes. Instead of fried chicken, bake it. Instead of traditional Mac ' cheese, use chickpea pasta and diary free cheese.
I am sorry to hear that. I do have a video that talks about foods to help with alopecia. You should check it out! I wish you the best on your journey! 🙏🏽
Look into Allicin. Take it for a month or skip the tablet and go to the source if you can stomach it which is chewing garlic til it burns then swallowing it with water. not juice. You can look up Allicin antibiotic studies. If anything in your gut is harmful it will surely die with this. Just make sure you drink lots of water
Yes my daughgter lost all of her hair at 15. Took us 3 years to get it back. She was doing good until age 25 she started loosing her hair again. Currently trying to get it back. I did a video telling her story.
I've always had 2 thin spots near my temples, but I've noticed that they are getting thinner and slightly bigger. I started using the oils you mentioned in this video a couple weeks ago and this video just confirmed that I am on the right track. I massage them in daily and I now wash my hair at least once a week. I'm also going to cut back drastically on my sugar intake because it's so addicting and unhealthy. Thanks for this video and be blessed 🙌🏾🙏🏾
What do you do when the stress and horrible events keep hitting you nonstop?!?! 😢 I changed my diet and my hair grew back but everytime it grows back something else happens and it falls out again ☹
That’s when you have to work on your mental state, which to most people can be the hardest. I watched videos on overcoming negative thoughts, dealing with stress, etc. it definitely has helped.
I have been feeling so hopeless with my hair loss but you have given me hope!! Thank you so much for making this video! You have helped me so much already!
@@keertisharma4312 Yikes! I am so sorry, I just saw this comment 😬 Yes, My hair is grew back and hasn't fallen out. I'm still sticking to a primarily plant based diet too
Be careful with dying your hair too, it's drying, and could add to your hair to start falling out again I'm glad that your hair is growing back too. Yes you are using the right essential oils, peppermint, rosemary. You can also add lavender, tea tree oil, all of these helps in hair growth They sure worked for me when my hair was thinning and coming out due to me taking medformin for diabetes. I was wondering why this was happening, until a co-worker told me the other side effects of taking that medication. I stopped taking it, and told my doctor, and was put on something else. Since using all of these oils my hair had started growing and still is growing. My hair is passed my shoulders now. I don't dye my hair either.
Yeah I haven't' dyed my hair since. It didn't make my hair fall out, but it definitely did damage. I end up cutting all the dye out of my hair. 😫 I'm glad to hear that you were able to switch meds to something that doesn't make your hair fall out. 🙏🏽
Thank you so much for sharing sis!!! I truly appreciate you. I am not dealing with alopecia however, what you mentioned in this video relates to EVERY BLACK PERSON! We need to stay away from dairy, the gut is where we ALL NO MATTER RACE need to start (ie diet) and STRESS kills! If everyone did the basics of what was mentioned in this video (regardless if one is dealing with hair loss or not) one will be better off. We can do this people! Start slow by just eliminating fast food. Then take away soda, then only drink water with lemon.Only eat meat 4 to 3 to eventually once a week to once per month. We can do this. Give yourself grace too. If you fall get back up, pray and keep moving. Blessings
This is so true!! I've started eating healthier and cut off fast foods for a few weeks and when I had fast food because we were away from home, it was just horrible, my body felt so so bad for the next few days, definitely regretted it.
YOU ARE CERTAINLY A MOTIVATING SPEAKER.... Thanks for sharing.... 👸🏾 Don't like the ending music😳 I was about to share with some Church Folks🤐 Please upload "Clean version", Thanks. REALLY ENJOYED YOUR EXPLANATIONS AND YOUR REMEDY.🏆
Had gluten problems for years.. interesting hearing people with similar autoimmune experiences. in the last year I lost my beard in the last few months started losing my hair. Lost my job bc covid and haven’t been able to get the stress under controls. Done everything else but the hair keeps falling out faster. Gonna try the essential oils thanks for that tip.
It is very interesting hearing similar experience. It makes you realize that there actually is a connection to the two. If you would like some tips of foods that help with alopecia areata, you should check out my other video. I wish you the best 🙏🏽
Hey mate how's the alopecia ,do you still have it ? I've lost a eyebrow patches on my beard and arms head legs trying to keep unstressed but lifes sucks atm
@@ksbbsk0891 from what i've seen and heard from talking to people, TONS of folks who got covid are losing their hair, and it's also potentially a side effect of the jab. the hair on my beard finally came back after 2 years, idk if i did anything or if it was natural. my hair is thinning on my head still but i'm optimistic it'll follow a similar pattern, it started later. hair masks seemed to be the thing that helped the most with starting some new growth
Thank you very much for taking the time to make this video. I was recently affected by this and it is somewhat traumatic. I had such great hair and now it's all patchy. I have also been under a ton of stress at work.
Suggestion, no more coloring, it seeps into your follicles. You're so correct. Sugar junkie over here and at my age I need to stop. Letting what's left of my hair just go gray.
I experienced bald spots and thinning hair with clumps coming out as well...Going to just say I never found out of it was alopecia or the overprocessing of my hair with a perm...What I do know is that I was in tears and didn't want any steroid shots to my scalp because the thought itself is terrifying...I cried every time I had to flush the biggest of balls of hair down the toilet so one day I just did the big chop...Last year around March I must say...This hurt but what choice did I have...Haven't permed my hair since and have been doing so since my childhood and my hair was thick and long so yeah...I was hurt...My hair was so brittle and dry that it wouldn't even hold any product...It was like my hair swallowed the gel and spray to try and wear any updo styles or ponytails so that let me know I had to start over...So what I did was being that my hair was dry my focus was to maintain moisture...So I did my research and found our about different oils and their uses...Found out that you have your moisturizing oils and your sealants...So after the big chop I maintained my hair with Jamaican black castor oil on my scalp and ends and also used a little tea tree oil or and peppermint oil for moisture so I'd have my moisturizing oils and sealants all in there together and I'd finish it all off with a leave in conditioner or an leave in deep conditioner...Even while wearing braids atleast once a week I'd maintain my scalp with the JBC infused with my Sulfur 8 hair grease then I'd go along the shaft of my box braids with peppermint oil to ensure that my real hair was being moisturized while being braided because...yeah...I missed my hair...So long story short my hair has made a tremendous comeback...Bald spots and all and very thick... I use shampoos that moisturizes and fight damage/hair repair but most importantly remember while using these different oils on your hair that a clarifying shampoo is very important to use once a month to clean away all of the oils from your hair and scalp because in order for your hair to grow it's important that the follicles are clean...Using a clarifying shampoo frequently will strip your hair so once a month is all that's needed...Hope this helps someone too...There's a routine for us all so find one that will work for you...When there's a will there's a way... After my big chop the front 9f my "bang" barely came over a third of an inch of my forehead but now it reaches a little past the top of my nose...Never will I ever take my hair for granted again and also thinking about staying natural...It's been almost a year without any chemicals...
Thank you for your information beautiful queen I'm at that point I'm going to have to change everything in my diet thank you for the information again be blessed you're a beautiful young woman be blessed to go forward to good

My hair has been falling out off & on for about 3 years I’ve finally had enough & I’m definitely gonna take this advice ! My diet is a lot like how yours used to be (a lot of sugar, fried & processed foods) & I was in 2 mentally, emotionally & physically abusive relationships. Now that I’m out of them I can finally have peace of mind. Thank you very much for your tips & all glory & praises to The Highest 💜💜💜
Wow! I'm glad that you made it out of those situations and you can focus on your health! I do have a video on foods to avoid with alopecia areata. You should check the out because it has some great food ideas! ❤️🙏🏽
This is so true, diet and stress are big factors in hair loss. Also Shes Just Ky has the same type of Alopecia she used the 911 Follicle CPR oil by the beauty of rashida and it helped her edges grow back and stay growing back until she cut it.
I have alopecia areata due to pernicious anemia, an autoimmune disease similar to lupus. Get your vitamin B12 checked yearly, and if it’s low and you don’t know why, get tested for pernicious anemia. (It can run in families. My father and sister have it, too.)
Absolutely! Doctors don’t seek to heal, only to medicate & treat symptoms (money maker). I’m vegan because of a fibromyalgia diagnosis, but I refused to rely on medication long term , bc it tears down other parts of the body.
If you are stressing, try some stress relief techniques to help. You may need to tweak your diet and/or hair care routine too. You should definitely double check with a dermatologist to make sure it's alopecia areata.
Yes, many women have lost their edges. However, when it comes to weaves, frontals, perms, tight braids, etc, that pull, burn, and/or consistently rub against the perimeter of the hair, this loss is called traction alopecia. I did make a video that gives a few differences between the two. I do agree, traction alopecia can lead to permanent damage.
Thank you so much for this, I am currently dealing with this, mines is pretty bad and I've decided not to do anymore injections and refused to take the harsh medications. I've recently removed meat from my diet with the exception of seafood, I am trying to eat more grains, fruits and fresh veggies. The difficulty is removing the dairy but I'm just trying to figure this thing out naturally. I've also noticed when I'm stressed my spots get bigger. Right now my crown is basically gone, there are some follicles but there is also scarred tissue. I will try these oils and get better with my hair massages. It is currently hard to style my hair so banana clips are my best friend. I appreciate videos like this.
Absolutely! Scarring is difficult. I’m sorry you’re going through this. How long ago have you started changing your diet? I do have a video that goes into details on things to avoid with Alopecia areata. You should take a look: ruclips.net/video/3FGVbNeXFPs/видео.html
You said a mouth full. I’m working on that right now. So many similarities to our stories.. because stress and gut issues are real . Thank you for sharing. I’m 2 years late but I’m here for it
Oh my goodness!!!! I have been diagnosed with alopecia aerata… I have celiac disease and PCOS… I came to your channel while I was looking for hairstyles for women with alopecia because I decided to do another big chop. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you for this information. Gut health is life. Working on that has helped me a lot. I don't have this condition but my 23 year old was just diagnosed. She has a poor diet and high stressed job. I'm gonna help her as much as I can to work on this. Great job.
Absolutely! I do have another video that talks about foods to avoid when dealing with alopecia areata that you should check out. I wish her the best! 🙏🏽
Being consistent about tending to my hair (washing/moisturizering) is the hardest for me, bc I'm tired a lot (I'm a mother of toddlers and a wife and in law school).
I completely understand! I have a teen, a newborn, my spouse, running a business, creating content, and keeping my house in order 😂 We still have to make some time to tend to ourselves, even if it’s an hour a week. You can’t pour from an empty cup. ❤️
@@iamnilsa So, true. I think bc I had so many things to do, I knocked off what I considered not as important. Now that my hair has been gone in the crown and nape (it's about an inch of hair) since 2019, I miss it, and I regret complaining about my hair when I did have it.
@@sarahp.3772 as long as you don’t have scarring, it’s not too late to start. What helps me is to use a calendar. I write out everything I must do at a set time on a weekly basis, like work/job and kids schooling. Then add my weekly tasks like grocery shop, clean, cook, content, self care (wash hair, nails, etc). When you break down your days, it’s easier to fit things in that you felt like you didn’t have time for.
This give me hope because I have been dealing with alopecia areata as well. I got the shot and it grew my hair out once, but I start growing my hair and I was getting braids and broke my hair so my spot came back. It's demoralizing not going to lie, and I'm trying to have hope and motivation about this situation and I think your video gave me hope. I use essential oils and sulfur 8 and doo gro and just hoping for the best. I also think another underrated part of alopecia areata is worrying about your hair and how it look. So I just have to not worry about that and just let the oils and products do their part. But for anyone dealing with this issue, it's hard and it can reck your confidence but have to have hope and it will get better.
I have alopecia and shoulder length hair.I'm trying to find the best way to wear my hair at night to keep from doing any damage or losing more hair... anyone know the best ways??
You can try wearing a silk or satin scarf or bonnet. You can also try using a satin ponytail holder to hold your hair in a low pony or high pony (your preference) and sleep with a silk pillowcase.
Omg I love you for posting this! I’m dealing with it due to a series of horrible events that stressed me and a sickness I will definitely try this thanks for the advice!
Sure! Here’s what I did for my stomach issues: 1. Stopped eating diary 2. Extremely limited my meat intake - when I do eat meat, it’s either salmon, tuna, chicken, or turkey. 3. Stayed away from sugars (cakes, cookies, donuts, etc) 4. No coffee 5. No gluten (I have a gluten intolerance) 6. Eat mostly fruits, veggies, nuts, and grains Please keep in mind that it depends on your body and what’s causing your acid reflux. The best way is to eliminate the items I stated. However, if you want to consume those things, try incorporating one thing a week back into your diet to see what may trigger the reflux. I’m not a doctor, so it’s always best to consult with one too. Good luck 👍🏽
I’m here because I have it as well, I’m 19 and the first time I had a patch was in 5th grade. And now I’m getting it back and it’s making me feel so insecure. No matter how many supplements I take or how much I take care of it, it never growths and the rest of my hair is coming thin, also I’ve been noticing more small thinning patches which are probably going to turn into bald patches. I feel so stressed and the doc said there’s no treatment.
I am sorry to hear that. How's your diet? Do you eat a lot of junk food or healthier foods like fruits, veggies, nuts, and grains? Do you have any other health issues? What type of things to do you do for stress relief?
@@iamnilsa sometimes I eat one meal a day just breakfast, but I’m trying to eat more. Currently I started to eat more healthy food and keeping the junk to a minimum. And I do have a health issue but it’s not related to my hair, scoliosis & migraines. And with stress I meditate and pray. I’m taking collagen, msm powder, & supplements. It’s doing nothing I just keep getting patches.
Sometimes we think our health issues aren't related, but they could be effecting each other somehow. I had sinus infections that caused problems with TMJ lol. I would suggest eating more than one meal to make sure you are getting important nutrients needed for a healthy immune system. This is important in fighting alopecia areata. Maybe three meals a day, but they can be small portions if you don't feel very hungry. I do have another video with detailed information on foods that help fight with alopecia areata, so check that out. Also, read the ingredients in your supplements and look them up individually. This way you can know exactly if it is beneficial for your hair growth. Hope this helps!
What do you think about gluten free bread? I’m starting the antiflammatory diet full throttle next month. Thank you again for helping us! ✨🙏🏾 God is a healer!
Absolutely! I don't eat gluten free bread all the time because I feel like some of them have ingredients that I want to avoid. But, my current favorite is Udi's.

@@iamnilsa Thanks for the reply. It's been the same in my case too. I sometimes wear a cap or beanie. Otherwise, you just accept that you have the condition and move on.
**** SUGGESTION**** Also, people don't think about this in our community when having kids but make sure your boyfriends/husband ( Mother's father isn't bald), If your Boyfriend/Husbands' ( Mother father ) Is bald your kids are likely to carry this gene and end up like you. Nobody wishes this on anyone! Next, if you have a baby check out " My Baby Can Read" it helps your child increase critical thinking skills early which leads to more success in your child if you stay on top of it during the critical ages of elementry. Studies show kids who can not read where more likely to go to jail. This is my community I want the next generation BETTER THAN US!
About 2 years ago, my hair started to fall out every time I combed my hair. It got worse every day, I wouldn't comb my hair anymore and I was in a panic. My Dermatologist prescribed Dutasteride 0.5 mg. She told me that the hair I lost would not grow back. Been on those pills for a little over one year. My hair loss has slowed down some. I want the hair I loosed to grow back. If I have to leave my house, I wear a head cover. I'm a white women and hate my hair now. I asked my Dermatologist if there is something else I could use to make my hair grow back, like some kind of shampoo or oil. She told me no. I will never grow my loosed hair back. Sugar is not at fault here. I seldom eat sweet things. I read the comments first, and someone mentioned Turmeric. That is very expensive.I never seen Turmeric in our local stores. Yes, you can buy it online, but the price is outrages. I'm actually afraid to try anything else on my hair. I need some advise from someone who had professional advise and it worked. @iamnilsa thank you... still trying to come to terms with it. it's not that good now because of stress. I've been losing hair since I was a teen when I think back on it. I just thought it was the ponytails and braids. But I've been under a lot of stress practically all my life. Then when my grandmother passed 6 years ago... that's when everything went south and hasn't stopped.
Sooooo helpful! I have been vegan for nearly a year now. I am a natural hair stylist and Hair care educator. Everytime I would mention the diet element of scalp/hair health my clients would cringe haha I am certainly an advocate for natural remedies over medication, peace over stress and over all wellness. Congratulations on growing a head full of healthy natural hair. Thanks for sharing your testimony!
Say some more about that, please. Why do you think your clients would cringe when you brought up that topic? Do you see any visible connection between the condition of clients' hair or scalp and their attitudes about a diet-centered kind of hair care?
@@DesperadoJux Hello there, there is absolutely a connection between the two. As a service provider, it has become apparent to me that the greater majority would prefer the ability to see amazing results where their natural hair is concerned without having to make any personal adjustments to their lifestyle. Diet is certainly one of those connections that clients may already know as a variable in their lack of hair/scalp health and actively choose to ignore simply because it requires a bit more effort. Even more than effort the assumption that they'd have to give up some of their favorite foods and beverages in exchange for more hydrating and nutritional options can be unattractive to some. Truthfully, we've been given all we need to achieve optimum health.
I agree with the stress level and health being a major factor in how our bodies react as a whole. My hair fell out in patches and I blamed myself for wearing braids and relaxers. I have been under stress and didn't realize it was stress. I felt this is the way life should be. Now I am learning differently that I don't have to be at every event or trying to please others. I am learning to relax more and take care of me. Thank you for this information. It has helped me to realize I am headed in the right direction. I didn't want to use medicines either for my alopecia. Thank you again.
Amen

Do you know how to find out what is the gut problem?
Sorry for the delay. I found out by going to the doctor. We started pretty much doing the process of elimination. That's how I found out that I have a gluten intolerance instead of a gull bladder issue lol

Gosh! I needed to see this. I was diagnosed 4 months ago with Alopecia Areata. My traumatic event was my mom's passing. I've been living in hats, beanies, bandanas etc and I am just over it. I've been a natural curly girl for 4 years already but stopped since I started my treatment because I have to apply it 2 daily and to get between them curls is no joke. Have you read about the side effects of Minoxidil?

Turmeric and barley gras powder helps a lot ! It is Amazing but you need to take it in high dosages
Interesting. I have not heard that these two help out. Better than pharmaceutical drugs lol
Please what is barley grass powder?
Barley grass powder or barely grass JUICE powder?
Rosemary is a dht blocker which prevents dht building up on your scalp. It also prevents testosterone from converting into dht . Drinking green tea can prevent testosterone from converting into dht. Once you experience too much and it converts to dht you have hair loss. Signs are thinning around the edges middle of the scalp.

Wish I could look good like you bald. 😍 gorgeous!

@@keertisharma4312 Yikes! I am so sorry, I just saw this comment 😬 Yes, My hair is grew back and hasn't fallen out. I'm still sticking to a primarily plant based diet too
Be careful with dying your hair too, it's drying, and could add to your hair to start falling out again
I'm glad that your hair is growing back too. Yes you are using the right essential oils, peppermint, rosemary. You can also add lavender, tea tree oil, all of these helps in hair growth
They sure worked for me when my hair was thinning and coming out due to me taking medformin for diabetes.

Absolutely! I’m glad this has helped!
Glad to hear that your hair is growing back! 🙌🏽

MANY women have lost their edges due too hair weaves, frontals, perms, glue an tight braids. All these things permanently damage the hair follicles.

Sure! Here’s what I did for my stomach issues:
1. Stopped eating diary
2. Extremely limited my meat intake - when I do eat meat, it’s either salmon, tuna, chicken, or turkey.
3. Stayed away from sugars (cakes, cookies, donuts, etc)
4. No coffee
5. No gluten (I have a gluten intolerance)
6. Eat mostly fruits, veggies, nuts, and grains
Please keep in mind that it depends on your body and what’s causing your acid reflux. The best way is to eliminate the items I stated. However, if you want to consume those things, try incorporating one thing a week back into your diet to see what may trigger the reflux. I’m not a doctor, so it’s always best to consult with one too.
Sometimes we think our health issues aren't related, but they could be effecting each other somehow. I had sinus infections that caused problems with TMJ lol. Altering one's dietary habits can pose challenges, yet the outcomes are undeniably valuable. Much appreciation for opening up about your journey and providing such insightful advice! 🌱
Hi! Thank you for your kind words! You are right about how challenging it may be to change your eating habits,. I'm glad my experience has been able to help others.
I’ve had alopecia areata for going on 3 years, thank you for this! Please keep making videos 😭❤️
Of course! I hope it helps! 🙏🏽❤️
Agree 100% with you re: it starting in the gut. A plant base diet is key to overall good health.
Wonderful advice, you are truly beautiful.
Thank you! I appreciate it 🙏🏽❤️
My mom told me she got diagnosed w this and I also have bad bald spots on the front end of my head and I also have bad gut problems! Omg diet really does okay in the factor of a lot things wow
yes, our diets play a huge factor in many areas of our bodies! I hope this helps you on your journey!!
During hair loss, how do you deal with socialisation & being in public?
TMC Most of the time, my hair was long enough to cover it. For the times that I couldn’t cover it, like when I had short hair, I just talked about it. All my friends and family knew I dealt with hair loss. This made it easier for me to deal with.
@@iamnilsa Thanks for the reply. It's been the same in my case too. I sometimes wear a cap or beanie. Otherwise, you just accept that you have the condition and move on.
I cut off all my hair and the world can deal with that!!
**** SUGGESTION****
Also, people don't think about this in our community when having kids but make sure your boyfriends/husband ( Mother's father isn't bald), If your Boyfriend/Husbands' ( Mother father ) Is bald your kids are likely to carry this gene and end up like you.
Thank you, dear. Greetings from Ethiopia
Of course!!
I'm glad you used a GLASS jar to mix the essential oils. Plastic is too weak to stand up to the powerful essential oils. Thanks for sharing your info!
Yes absolutely!
Really great video by the way 🤗 thank you So much for sharing 🙏🙏🙏😊 so happy for you that your hair grows 👏👏
Thank you! I'm glad to hear that your hair has grown back too! ❤️❤️
Please, I'm desperate.
I'm sorry to hear that you are going through this. I know you said you don't eat sweets, but how's the rest of your diet?
@@iamnilsa I avoid everything that is harmful to me.
@@gigih.hammer306 like specifically. Do you eat fast food, fried food, or dairy? Do you have any sensitivity to food groups or known allergies?
@@iamnilsa Every once in a while, I eat a Subway sandwich. When I eat a Subway, it's an Italian Subway. Seldom will I eat fast food. Sometimes I eat french fries made in an air fryer. What is it that you don't eat? I can't eat any kind of seafood. I'm allergic to it.I'm not a milk drinker either. Drink no soda pops. I do drink lots of water and I have one cup of coffee every morning. But only one cup. I thank you for responding to my comment. Have a pleasant weekend.
@@gigih.hammer306 Here's a video that goes into more detail on foods to avoid with alopecia areata: ruclips.net/video/3FGVbNeXFPs/видео.html I would start there. Stress and hair products can also play a role in this. You are welcome and enjoy your weekend as well!
I'm 44. I've been losing my hair since a teen just thought it was from the braids.. after my grandmother passed I started looking like a Cancer patient. Now at 44 it's really spreading fast. I had to cut into a mohawk. My eyebrows are sparse as well so I know it alopecia for sure.
Wow, I'm sorry to hear that. How's your diet?
Muze 10_12 month se alopecia ki prblm chalu thi to mere sir pe bahut patchess the aur me bahut Pareshan ho gaya tha fir maine charvi hair solution aur charvi capsule Amazon se order Kiya aur use Krna chalu kiya muze ise bahut achha results mila, mera sir pe naye bal aana chalu huye mere patchess bhar gaye bahut hee effective product mila muze thanx charvi .. Bz
Hey family.. make sure it’s not thyroid disease.. gut inflammation triggers it aso
@Manay Kotari not sure what you're saying.. only a few words. But thanks for your input. What language is that?
Thank you so much!! Confirmed a lot that I need to change my diet
you're welcome!!
👏🏽👏🏽 Congrats on your journey! Changing our diet is one of the hardest things for people to do. Thank you 🙏🏽
Say some more about that, please.
@@dominiquestroman444 Well said. Thanks, mama.
Y'ALL BE DOING THIS TO OUR DAUGHTERS IM SO PISSED AT MY BM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 👿🔥👿🔥👿🔥👿🔥👿🔥👿🔥👿🔥👿🔥👿🔥👿🔥👿🔥
What are you referring to specifically?
I agree with the stress level and health being a major factor in how our bodies react as a whole. My hair fell out in patches and I blamed myself for wearing braids and relaxers. I have been under stress and didn't realize it was stress. I felt this is the way life should be. Now I am learning differently that I don't have to be at every event or trying to please others. I am learning to relax more and take care of me. Thank you for this information. It has helped me to realize I am headed in the right direction. I didn't want to use medicines either for my alopecia. Thank you again.
Absolutely! And I’m glad you’re on the right path! I wish you the best on your journey 🙏🏽
THANK-YOUTRUE SINCE I BEEN EATING VEGETABLES WATER AND FRUITS MY HAIR HAVE GOTTEN THICKER. GODBLESS
Absolutely! I’m glad to hear that!! 🙌🏽
