I'm a 72 year old white woman who does not know squat about the care of a hair except for my now gray hair (which I love). I was totally intrigued the whole time watching you work. It was amazing how you turned her hair into this super sleek and stunning look. I totally admire your talent. Her hair came out stunning. Total respect for work. She is gonna be a stunning bride.
Me too! I had extremely thick hair back when I enlisted, but also had headaches so eventually I just cut it short--easier to care for, and wear under my cap/beret plus no more headaches. I think this stylist knocked it out of the park with this lovely young woman--she looked so elegant with the long sleek ponytail! Great work!
@Priscillagreve7464 She's not the bride. She's one of the bridesmaides - all of them were told to wear the same sleek hairstyle. I wonder if she will also need to be told not to be chewing gum like that during the wedding, not to wear big hoop earrings, and, to use makeup to cover up those tatoos. Smh...
WOW! How long does this hair design/style last? Does the client have to go back to the stylist to have the glued hair remove? The client is a beautiful woman but the hair and extensions that are hiding beneath the sleek style looked terrible. Was there a reason the stylist did not cut off the clients existing extensions before doing the new style? I certainly hope that the client tipped the styles very, very, very generously.
If I hadn't watched the video from beginning to end with my own two eyes, I'd never have thought that that lady had an entire head of locs underneath. You are a magician!
I was a hairdresser for 25 years. This girl is a master at doing this. I’ve never seen anybody do this before this is amazing. She didn’t even have to cut her hair. My question is how long does she wear her hair like this? Bravo, you’re a master.😊
I just "stumbled upon" this vidéo, which made me realize that creative people with supple fingers and dexterity can achieve wonders! Like everybody, I have marveled at what makeup artists can achieve with foundation and colorful makeup material. Often stunning! But doing what you do with false hair and... TALENT!...... is amazing! I am really impressed. Hats off for you, Lady!
Carla, I have come to the conclusion that you can do all things with hair😅 But, I would tell you, dont go nowhere, because as soon as this wedding is over, I'll be right back so you can remove all this from my head😅😂 You did a great job❤
You are beautiful and the hairstyle looks great on you! But I dont blame you for wanting to be done with it after the wedding, it must be so heavy! Blessings to you sister! ❤
I’d have to go right after the reception was over and get that taken down. I sit on my locs so I couldn’t do this but she must really care about the bride to go through this for her
I commend you on going the whole nine yards for your girl! I used to sell bridal dresses and people don't realize there is a lot of stress and pressure on a bride, so also on those close to her...no matter how smoothly things are working out and the venue is simple - in the living room or back yard. 'Cold feet' is real...confusion is real...stress related weight gain so fear dress won't fit, is real...etc. So, even the bridal dress and other varied wedding staffs are conscientious to be accommodating. Once, a dress was being shipped and not only our staff but the carrier was on it - that dress was going to make it in the time given it would be there. She and her mom were so scared. When I got to work I saw the package would indeed be delivered that day so called to update the bride...the carrier had already called and told her and that it was authorized to be especially delivered before noon. (Our store paid the extra expense to be a premier customer.) So, the relief of stress - tearfulness (happy and sad) - fear of gone wrong - staying on edge... is experienced by everybody involved. But, all hold it together for the sake of the bride. It's her special moment in time. BRAVA.👏👏👏 She wanted you, and you came through like a champ! This(!) is what friends are for...is what real friends will sacrifice to do. I would.😉
you are the real MVP for getting that style over your locs!! I would be freaking out and regretfully decline and excuse myself from the bridal party. I'm autistic and I do not have the spoons for this.
I'll never request that someone with locks or natural hair do such a hairstyle. You have to respect people. Kudos for this young lady for playing along.
I hope she paid for it. But IMHO the chance to try on something completely different without sacrificing their own hair in the process would be tempting for most people. The client looks great and Carla's skills are mind-blowing!
I know very little about hair (except my own), but this is clearly a fantastic job that she did on her client. It was perfect with all the extra touches to make it look like anything but a wig. That's true craftsmanship and pride in your work.
Mine are 10 years old too and I agree. I don't even use a lot of products on them. I don't bother with trying to slick down my edges because they won't stay. To each their own, but I wouldn't do this or expect someone else to either.
OMG!! My Caucasian brain is blown🤯🤯🤯. How long did that take??? That poor girl - I hope the bride appreciates all she went through to accommodate her wishes. Carla, that was downright sorcery and a work of art. Bravo lady, bravo.

I saw one with a 75 year old black man. They glued a very short hair section over his bald head when they were finished he looked like an amazingly handsome younger man. The hair they glued on was only about 1/4 inch but the line were so nice.
The bride was RIDONCULOUS for this request knowing this baby had long blonde locs. But the amount of skill, talent, creativity, and ingenuity this took is BANANAS!!! You are the QUEEN, ma’am!!!

I just have to say that I never seen anyone do this for someone with locs. You are talented and creative. Your client must love her friend to do this. I was curious as to how you were going to pull off. Thank you I'm impressed.
I understand the request for their dresses. I would only request a hairstyle if I were paying for the stylist. It gets expensive. But you work magic on her hair. Beautiful.
@@blackblake3658 I would think the service would cost that, honestly. Do you know if the service would include removing it all? This is really an art!!
Miss Carla, First, I'm so proud you shared scripture at the start of the video. Second, your talent is amazing and Third, May God richly bless you and your family! Black Hair Artists are SO many levels above the average hairdresser!! Respect, Ma'am 🙏🫂🇺🇸
NOW THAT is a transformation!!! I hope she's going to the wedding after she leaves there. I wouldn't know how to sleep on it without messing it up. Gorgeous!!! She looks happy and I'm sure the bride will be too😊
I was thinking about the weight of that ponytail on the back of her head and thinking there's no way my head could handle it. She does look beautiful, though.
Im a retired hairdresser from 1979 to 1999. And this just blows me away how much work goes into this clients creative hairstyle, with a request of a ‘ Sleek Look’. Just incredible how far hairdressing has come. What you achieved here is above and beyond, and must have taken several hours. Such creating hairdressing, I love it and still am proud of being a hairdresser…Go Girl😃Congratulations to the Bride, it looks amazing!
That is astonishing. I am blown away by the talent it took to make that happen. She is beautiful with that sleek, classy look that you created. Just WOW…….
Holy cow! That is true artisanship! I have so many questions!!! How long did that take? How much does it weigh? Can she sleep on this? How do your hands and fingers not completely cramp up? What does something like this cost? What is the process for removing this? You are so talented!
Me too - all those questions - like is she straight off to the event, or will this last a few days? I salute your artistry that you were able to achieve the bride's vision without the friend having to sacrafice her locks and her colour. That confident shoulder shake you know she was going to have a great time at the wedding.
I would have never known she had locks under there if I hadn't have watched it from the beginning. I'm shocked. I'm white but I've always been fascinated with other cultures and how they do their hair. I love to watch it. It's absolutely beautiful thanks for sharing. You did great!!!
@@sueburke6096 I did and they were happy and excited to do it and they paid for it and was happy about that too because even though I wanted them to do unified I still took into consideration of the cost. It was no more than what it would normally cost them to go to the salon. Reciprocity and mutual respect for each other.
Yes, I understand your feelings about that, as I love natural hair myself, but, for me in this particular case the camouflage style sure looks more elegant for a nice wedding ceremony than what she has underneath.
She must love her friend and want to be in that wedding. As she should. But me I wouldn't be able to do it. Had locs for 10 years after a couple hours of a ponytail I get massive headaches. Way to tender to get that done. You did amazing job though.
Unbelievable- just unbelievable! When you pulled her natural hair back in a pony tail I was sure you were going to whack it off!!! What you did is absolutely gorgeous - BRAVO to both of you❣️
Carla, why aren't you working in film making big, big money? You certainly are talented enough. Personally, as a hairdresser in Philadelphia, I would not have the patience for this ( or the customer chewing that gum). My scalp hurt and itched just thinking about being a customer going through this. Again, I bow to you and your talent. You and your finished work are amazing.
this is amazing. I have never seen such fantastic hair artistry ever. I am mixed race Caucasian south Asian Chinese with thin hair. I wish I could get something like this. It’s truly beautiful. What an amazing job you did.
DANG! You deLIVered. That was absolutely amazing. Brilliant. She looked gorgeous and didn't have to take out those braids before her wedding--but after?
I was mesmerized watching this magic happen before my eyes! What a transformation. What you did shows your talent, gift, experience, and expertise. WOWIE ZOWIE!
I think both opinions are valid. If someone has very, very unique hair, that can be majorly distracting when it comes to group photographs. If someone had neon green hair that stuck out in 10cm spikes, you wouldn't be happy about taking photos with them. However, if someone just prefers natural hair or wigs, but their colours and style are within what is normal, then no, they shouldn't have to change their hair for the wedding. Groomsmen and bridesmaids should maintain some level of uniformity. Any changes to their hair for the wedding should not be permanent or involve bleaching or dying.
That’s some next level artistry Carla! I do get the bridesmaid not wanting to be told how to wear their hair. I’ve died my hair red since I was 17. My younger sister asked me not to for her wedding. It’s the only time I’ve hated my hair and now it’s in pictures forever more! But great work and as a bridesmaid I wouldn’t mind that hairstyle so long as it’s red😉✌🏽
You really should be rated as one of best of the best. If I was celebrity, I would be trying my best to obtain you as my personal hairdresser. You did this!!!
I love what you did with her hair. I cant believe a bridge would make such a request but i must say the hairstyle you gave her was amazing. I dont care for those locks. They just look matted like dog fur and not clean. I worked with a man once that had those dreadlocks and he ended up having to have his entire head shavec because he found out it was full of worms.
@@ceeuuu01 But what a day it is! I'm 67 now, hubby's been gone for a few years but I still remember my wedding day like it was yesterday. It led to two wonderful boys and now four grandchildren. LOL, sorry rambling on--great memories!

This is just an amazing work of artistry. I cannot imagine myself sitting through this process. My scalp needs to breathe or my psoriasis would be wreaking havoc with itself. This girl is one fantastic friend to the bride for doing her requested style. God bless the hairdresser who is outstanding.
Well, it's official. Compared to the skills of this Guru, my hair skills are at Caveman level. Hitting my head & hair with a club. That sleek do is beautiful! Bravo!!

Well color me flabbergasted! This white girl hairdresser is impressed! I wondered how you were going to hide her dreads. You did a FANTASTIC JOB? The bride should be impressed
That was sweet of her to honor the brides request on hair selection🥰🥰sometimes as brides there are visions and you just want things to be a certain way not out of hatefulness. Its just your big day. I do understand though about not everyone be able to afford certain styles. So I pray the young lady was told in timely fashion and able to prepare ahead of time for the special occasion so she wont be burdened… if that's the case.
I say if bride does not stayed married at least 10 years she pays all attendees all cost for specific hair styles to be part of bridal party. This must of cost a lot of money. Spoiled bride syndrome unappreciated of time any many dollars spent. If marriage fails because couple does not put work in to long term relationship than rebates expected.
@@SusansneweraSista spend big bucks on so ins and lace fronts so this lady maybe the only one not used to going through this transformation. That's pretty ridiculous to even make that statement about how long the couple stays married sounds like jealousy on your part.
I love how it came out but like others in the comment section I respectfully disagree. Yes everyone should look alike absolutely. However, the bride understood that her hair is not straight and she requested a straight hair style. She could have had the exact same hairstyle without the weave. A fresh retwist and pull it up in a sleek ponytail.
Damn we are never satisfied. I guess she wasn't happy with them all wearing the same dress, now they all have to have the same hairstyle!!!!. A designer wedding. If she paid for it all, then I can see that.
I would have declined to be in the wedding party. Not everyone can tolerate all of those heavy glues, sprays, heat, tension, all of the weight from the layers and layers of fake hair etc. Natural hair can look so beautiful. All that fake stuff is not for everyone. No doubt that your hands create amazing artistry.
Yes, these days is become too much of a pageantry. Save the money, couples and let the ppl who live, support and root for you just celebrate talks union! Not-so-fun fact: starting out new costs and even if you have a lot of money, that's just a little bit more you can have in your pocket!
I agree with you. But obviously this sister wanted to join in the celebratory fun and excitement of the occasion. You choose those who want to willingly walk beside you. Being a bridesmaid is an honor but it’s also understood it’s not cheap. I chose 12 women who l loved and liked and who resembled each other and me. Time moves on. The darker cousins who weren’t bridesmaids don’t speak to day but then we didn’t have a good relationship anyway so nothing lost 😂😂😂😂
It's just a1 day performance. Anybody who lives the bride should be able to handle that. It's about the love and support. Only the closest people are generally asked to be in the bridal party. Right???
You are absolutely a genius! To take on these hair projects takes precision and creativity. You are both..precise and creative!! Kudos to you as you continue to bring women to look their best!!! Your model is gorgeous!
basically the Bride said I want u to look like someone else..LOL.. wow Fantastic job…. SHE MUST REALLY LOVE THE BRIDE.. I would never change my look for anyone ❤❤ GREAT JOB ❤❤❤
You have a lot of skills in those hands of yours. I was a little skeptical about it at first, but you pulled it off and I was not let down. Considering she had some thick dread locs under there I am amazed at how sleek it did turn out. BRAVO!

I have never been to a wedding where all the bridesmaids had the same hairstyle
This was amazing to watch but all the time, effort, chemicals, heat, weight and expense and then having everything removed isn’t for the faint of heart.
It’s a gorgeous look and a great example of to each their own.
Thank you both for the video!
What would be amazed at what black women do to be beautiful my sister tells me it hurts to be beautiful
Hello. Sometimes 😊
I am in awe! The final outcome is so pretty and I would have never thought you could accomplish it. That bride had better appreciate her friend!
Carla you have a Talent. You definitely Deserve All the Awards. Awesome Skills. ❤❤❤
Beautiful.
EXACTLY. If the bride is paying I can see it but if not….thats a lot
@@nesiemac7625 What would something like this cost a client? ballpark -- just out of curiosity? Thanks for your response.
That could cost $150 to $200 if she had to pay for the hair.
Gorgeous!!! She looks happy and I'm sure the bride will be too😊
So. Much. Hair. Between her locs and the extensions, I can’t imagine how much it all weighs. Beautiful work, Carla.
At the reception and after all the main pics, I’d be in that bathroom so fast taking my hair down! It does look good but it’s too much for me.
How much this style cost?
I was thinking about the weight of that ponytail on the back of her head and thinking there's no way my head could handle it. She does look beautiful, though.
@@GenaGilder She is sure to have a headache!
She will be having neck pains and uncomfortable sleep.
She's in the bridal party
Wow!
Best hairdresser ever, pure talent 👏 👌
She is so beautiful. You did an amazing job!❤
Yes. I have all the same questions 🎉
Me too - all those questions - like is she straight off to the event, or will this last a few days? I salute your artistry that you were able to achieve the bride's vision without the friend having to sacrafice her locks and her colour. That confident shoulder shake you know she was going to have a great time at the wedding.
She earned every penny and then some!
I enjoy watching you put yhe Carla touch on the Queens heads. May continue to strengthen your hands, creativity and prosperity.
I would have never known she had locks under there if I hadn't have watched it from the beginning. I'm shocked. I'm white but I've always been fascinated with other cultures and how they do their hair. I love to watch it. It's absolutely beautiful thanks for sharing. You did great!!!
I have never ever heard of a bride demanding everyone have their hair the way she wants before. I hope she paid for it.
Thank you for calling them locs
@@sueburke6096 I did and they were happy and excited to do it and they paid for it and was happy about that too because even though I wanted them to do unified I still took into consideration of the cost. It was no more than what it would normally cost them to go to the salon. Reciprocity and mutual respect for each other.
That's an incredible transformation! Job well- down! Just hate the implication/ belief that long and straight is always better, more beautiful, etc
You hit on all my thoughts as I watched this video, even the gum chewing. 😆
I tried not to be distracted by the gum chewing... Shuu!
LOLOL@@disciple8531
this is amazing. I have never seen such fantastic hair artistry ever. I am mixed race Caucasian south Asian Chinese with thin hair. I wish I could get something like this. It’s truly beautiful. What an amazing job you did.
She looks so sleek and on point! Just WOW!!!!
DANG! You deLIVered. That was absolutely amazing. Brilliant. She looked gorgeous and didn't have to take out those braids before her wedding--but after?
She is a good friend because I know she paid a trip for that transformation! Beautiful!
First of all, when you slayed the wig with that center cut, I knew you were on the road to creativity and greatness.😮 💯 😊 💯
Was it not a 360 frontal?
I was mesmerized watching this magic happen before my eyes! What a transformation. What you did shows your talent, gift, experience, and expertise. WOWIE ZOWIE!
I’m so impressed at the process. I’m a retired hairdresser and never ever came in contact with this process. It’s so natural looking. Awesome❤
You did and Awesome job camouflage her locs!!! Her ponytail looks like it’s coming out her scalp !!!! I think it’s Gorgeous!!!
This hairstyle is very sleek! It can’t get any sleeker. Good job 👏🏾 Carla. ❤
Actually, that sounds like an excellent and memorable wedding photo to me! 😀
AMAZING WORK!
She just transformed that girl into high class model look! She’s sooooo beautiful!!!😮❤❤❤❤
*dyed
You really should be rated as one of best of the best. If I was celebrity, I would be trying my best to obtain you as my personal hairdresser. You did this!!!
I love what you did with her hair. I cant believe a bridge would make such a request but i must say the hairstyle you gave her was amazing. I dont care for those locks. They just look matted like dog fur and not clean. I worked with a man once that had those dreadlocks and he ended up having to have his entire head shavec because he found out it was full of worms.
Amazing work. The Lord blessed you, to bless others. That beautiful client of yours looks happy. And she gets to keep her locs.
I'm not a woman of color. But I would let you do my hair anyday!! Carla!! She looks beautiful and your work is amazing!! You ROCK girl!!
Hello, Thank you so much, I appreciate your kind words 🙏🏾
Wow! This woman is an artist. What a transformation.
Wow I didn't even know it was possible to completely hide long locs like that! It turned out great 🥰🎉
@@leahmason824 part of the costume for a 1-day performance. Right!
I was wondering how that was gonna work too…lol. Turned out nice!
Amazing. She looks beautiful!!!
@@ceeuuu01 But what a day it is! I'm 67 now, hubby's been gone for a few years but I still remember my wedding day like it was yesterday. It led to two wonderful boys and now four grandchildren. LOL, sorry rambling on--great memories!
Great job
The color of the extensions is so much better for her. That just woke up her face. The gold locks are washing her out.
YES agree! She looks like a movie star 🌟 ❤
I said the exact same thing. The gold washed her out
This is common when people go lighter than they're natural hair color.
Blonde isn't necessarily glamorous.
Judging by her new growth I think she intentionally skipped loc/color maintenance for the wedding style.
.. just a theory
I’m a 75 yr old white woman…I sometimes have trouble taking care of my hair…This was just amazing to watch…See how you used her braids and the extra hair to create a beautiful hairstyle…You are a master, you treat hair like a piece of art…This was simply beautiful…
This is just an amazing work of artistry. I cannot imagine myself sitting through this process. My scalp needs to breathe or my psoriasis would be wreaking havoc with itself. This girl is one fantastic friend to the bride for doing her requested style. God bless the hairdresser who is outstanding.
That sure is one hell of a confident hairdresser . Wow!
Hello. God guided me through the whole process 🙏🏾
Girl what???? This is an art, a skill!!!! 🤯🤯🤯 flabbergasted. Ma'am the miracle you did, what a transformation 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽✨✨✨
Madd skilz!!!!!
Well, it's official. Compared to the skills of this Guru, my hair skills are at Caveman level. Hitting my head & hair with a club. That sleek do is beautiful! Bravo!!
I am blown away!!!!!! I don’t know what you charge, young lady, but it’s not enough. Brava!!
Carla, you’re not only a Hair Stylist, but an ENGINEER!!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Literally pure magic!!! This girl, could have gone blond, under your care!!! Spectacular job!!! Pretty, natural and so elegant!!! Congrats ❤❤❤😮🎉😊
She is going to outshine the bride, she looks amazing.
Lady- you’re a TRUE Friend!!!!❤
Magic! Wow. I can’t believe she still has all her own hair under there. Absolutely Gorgeous!
Thanks for showing your work. It would’ve been nice to see her complete the look with the bridesmaid dress and heels
Well color me flabbergasted! This white girl hairdresser is impressed! I wondered how you were going to hide her dreads. You did a FANTASTIC JOB? The bride should be impressed
The first three minutes... I was 🪝!!! I stayed and watched the whole thing. I have so much respect for the stylist!!! Mind is Blown!! 🤯. 👏👏👏👍👏👏👏
If I hadn't watched this happen, I would NOT have believed it. Gorgeous!! 🎉
😱 WHAT A BRILLIANT TRANSFORMATION 👍🏾. If hadn’t seen before pictures I never would’ve guessed that she has Locs. WELL DONE
Carla is the most skilled hairstylist that I’ve ever seen! She is the Queen of weaves!
I thought that's what she was going to do. And prolly put a fake bun on top
I can only imagine how much that cost & at the end no appreciation, just gossiping!
Right???
This is amazing! Good job!!!
You are absolutely a genius! To take on these hair projects takes precision and creativity. You are both..precise and creative!! Kudos to you as you continue to bring women to look their best!!! Your model is gorgeous!
As a Caucasian woman the things African Americans do with their hair amazes me. You’re awesome to have thought of this idea. It looks beautiful!!!
1000% respect and awe for the skill and patience you have creating this style, given the brides request.
I will never stop being amazed on how you can turn nothing into something beautiful. I love what you do and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
OMG This Young Lady's Hair Is Stunning. Carla You Earned The Name

basically the Bride said I want u to look like someone else..LOL.. wow Fantastic job…. SHE MUST REALLY LOVE THE BRIDE.. I would never change my look for anyone ❤❤ GREAT JOB ❤❤❤
Absolutely stunning! She went from a young teen to a glamorous woman! Beautiful job!
There is no other like a Black woman creative. Hands down are the best!
You guys deserve a medal. I'll never be complacent about my hair again!
WOW, it looks like her hair. You did a Great job. Bless you for your talent and skills.
I could not process in my mind how you were going to achieve this but you did and it was beautifully transformed. Great job. Love the look.❤🙏🇦🇺
You have a lot of skills in those hands of yours. I was a little skeptical about it at first, but you pulled it off and I was not let down. Considering she had some thick dread locs under there I am amazed at how sleek it did turn out. BRAVO!
The bridesmaid looks stunning with the brown hair 😊
I like her hair blonde, she is such a beautiful young woman; but for the wedding, that is the most beautiful hairstyle & shiniest hair ever! She looks like a star!
