Hello. My condolences. You are very welcome. Shelvonya was my girl. It was always a pleasure when she comes to her hair appointment. I am so happy that God present the opportunity for me to help🙏🏾
I was diagnosed with Lupus in 2019 (4 days before my wedding). Stress makes the symptoms worse so when people say don't involve them in foolishness cause it could k**l them, please believe them 😢 Love on your people while they are still here
So very true I wish my family could understand this I've been diagnosed now for 21 years in Lord knows it has been a journey but he has brought me through and then my footsteps when I was too weak 🙏🏾🙏🏾
I am the splitting image of Shelvonya, we could have been twins. And I am also battling a disabling autoimmune disease. So this video really shook me in many ways. What a beautiful thing to do for her, to make her feel cared for, like she mattered, to help her smile and feel good about herself, even though she must have been going through so much. I truly understand. Women suffer the most from autoimmune diseases (lupus is one). This particular group of diseases very clearly manifests after sudden grief events and trauma. After a terrible shock like sudden, unexpected tragic death or other trauma, our bodies experience a massive loss of nutrients at a rapid rate which begins a downward spiral. If we are aware we might respond differently. When I looked at health trends recently I was a little surprised that more awareness hasn't been raised about the well established connection between grieving or traumatized women and autoimmune diseases. But I wasn't very surprised at the lack of public education campaigns about grief, trauma and illness because "black" women are more likely than other women to develop lupus and other autoimmune disorders. We are not a priority for prevention of disease. Instead, we have become a lucrative statistic and target for disease. We should be telling women and families that once there is a sudden or tragic death or signs of someone struggling with trauma, do not wait for disease to show up. Go into the best counselling program available to you to start acknowledging and processing your feelings (burying grief inside of us silently is the worst thing to do), de-stress, nourish your body as best you can, rest, give all the love and kindness you can to yourself, and focus on prevention of illness and saving your life. Shelvonya's daughter needs help to work through multiple grief events and her own trauma. Someone needs to look out for her. It is not enough for her to pray and receive condolences and donations. Her nutrition, ability to rest and sleep well, access to a trusted counsellor to deal with her feelings, and her ability to have hope in life getting better for her are very important now. She is vulnerable. It is said by Gabor Mate, a medical doctor who specializes in palliative care and trauma research, that grief from loss of a family member is a reliable predictor of someone in the family faling ill soon afterward. That someone is most often a woman. Rest in love, Mama Shelvonya. You ďon't have to be lost in grief anymore. No more suffering. Your life was not in vain. Protect your daughter at that higher level. Walk good and free in eternity.
@@Mia-yp9ydThere is also a huge link with low vitamin D, and gluten/dairy intolerance. If you have an autoimmune disease or are having stomach issues see your Dr. and look into it. I have been dairy and gluten free for 15/18 years now. I also take 3,000iu of vitamin D3 a day & D2 with my Dr's advice. This has helped me remain symptom free from my MS & my CKD3 with my doctors regularly testing me. Please see your doctor if you don't feel well and educate yourselves about your illness. I feel terrible for this woman & her daughter. Life is so unfair sometimes. 😢🙏
They did my mom the same way, we couldn’t believe what they did, knowing they knew better, we were robbed, but thank God my sisters and I were able to work and come up with the money to bury my mom, Rest Peacefully mom💐🕊️
They should have explained the difference but I know there was a point and time if you had a pre- existing condition like Cancer they wouldn't cover you.

May God bless you for your kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity of spirit. May Shelvonya be in eternal peace (she's with her son now) and may her surviving daughter find strength and peace throughout this time.
Sometimes we complain about our circumstances and are reminded that we don’t have a thing to complain about… that we should be thanking God for our little problems. Praying her daughter has peace, comfort and healing as she lays her mother to rest 🙏😢and that Shelvonya RIP in our Heaven Father’s hands 🙏
I worked with a woman who drove passed a horrible car accident and she said she remembered thinking that her mom had that same car. Unfortunately, it was her mom and sister in that accident. They were hit head on by a drunk driver and killed. 💔 All of us were so incredibly devastated for her.
It is most certainly is. My Dad and my Oldest Brother past within a month of each other. I was devastated. My youngest Brother passed a year before them.

The daughter needs to investigate. Insurance companies are notorious for withholding payments on a technicality. She needs go after the Insurance advisor and seek legal assistance.
I agree because what kind of policy is strictly accidental? Normally, that would be a supplement to the original policy. And what kind of insurance company would've taken her on when she had pre-existing detrimental health issues? Sounds like they scammed her, knowing damn well that they had no plans on covering her.
@@OriginalPrincess32 i agree. she was 100% scammed. what awful people to do that to struggling people. and this family can't be the only ones they've done this to.

Wow this actually happened to my hubby, he called me and said “I’m going to be late there was an accident and I’m helping the people sort it out because a car was totaled with someone in it”. Then hours later for the first time I seen him balling crying, because he found out one of the people in the accident was his first cousin who died on the scene. He didn’t even know it. The body was apparently unrecognizable😢.
Upon reading your story, I believe that God sent him there to be with his cousin during his transition. May he rest in peace, my condolences to your family
You know who ever sold her that policy knew damn well what she was asking for and needing and they sold it to her anyway! Damn devil. Shame on that horrible insurance person! As a cancer nurse I cry all the time! Cancer is the most evil thing I have ever seen!

Lord, why did I see this before bed. I'm in tears. Life is so funny. I am looking at this beautiful, seemingly young lady, getting her hair done. Although she seemed fragile and sick, that style gave her a moment of youth and beauty for the last time. 😢 May she R.I.P
She is so beautiful. I know the pain her daughter is going through my mother died of lupus and carelessness of doctors and nurses at 55 3 years ago they accidentally put contaminated water in her machine and it gave her a bacteria in her lungs she could not get rid of I pray her daughter to be comforted and have strength to get through this. My mother had nothing because of her sickness so I had to beg for help and my Aunts have lots of money but they didn’t care. Me and my kids are still trying to get life together after her death. I am donating because I truly understand.
You can't really sue these doctors, hospitals, nurses or anyone in the medical field unless it is negligence with proof. As long as anyone receives standard of care, and everything is documented as treated you can't really go after anyone. The medical review board needs to give their review after case presented and if standard if care was provided the nurses and doctors etc are not held responsible. It's a legal way to khil people by meddicine nothing more.
I remember when they tried to sell me the accidental also! When you’ve had cancer you can’t get life insurance, unless you pay a premium monthly. Condolences 💐
I believe her when she said “when she looks good, she feels good.” She was so drained getting styled. Then as soon as you finished she whipped that mask off and gave the biggest smile to herself!! 😄 As a hairstylist, this has me in tears. So sad😭 I remember when my grandma was going through chemo and lost her hair. You can see the defeat in her face because she couldn't wear her hair like she has been for decades. But then you see them have a glimpse of hope when their hair grows back. They just want to do something so simple like get their hair done and feel pretty again. It may be a temporary smile but any smile is worth seeing even if it's the last. If people can, please get your kids at an early age some life insurance so that their kids won't have to stress about burying them later in life. I'm grateful that my mom did for me because I don't have to worry about it now should something happen to me. Every year she gives us the talk about who the insurance policy is with/where we can find the paper work should something happen to her.
I dont even know what to say. Im literally in tears. She was so young and still had a daughter. My dad passed from brain cancer so I really empathize with her daughter to loose her mom and brother. Im praying for her daughter. Her mom seems like a sweet, gentle, woman of faith. I think the insurance company knew it would be hard to insure her at a price she could afford with pre-existing conditions so they just insured her without even letting her know the terms. Thank you for sharing her story. Im donating what I can.❤❤ Rest in Peace 🙏🏼 🕊
Hello thank you for your kind words. Yes I am thinking the same about the person that wrote the insurance policy. I think he intentionally deceived her knowing it was the wrong policy just so he/she can make a sale and that is so sad. But God is great and he will take care of the situation 🙏🏾
@@TheHairGuruCarlaYou're exactly right, and that person needs to have their license suspended! Thank you. Lost my mom in 2020 to metastatic lung cancer. She was only 55 when she was diagnosed. She was still healthy, at a healthy weight, still going to the gym, always got her check ups. By the time we knew something was terribly wrong, it was too late to do much to stop it. It still doesn’t feel real. It rocked everyone who knew her because she was so vibrant and energetic up until the day she was hospitalized. You really never know the turns life will take. I will definitely share and donate. I need to reassess myself complaining about anything, my heart is broken for her and her family! 😢Be well daughter 🙏🏾❤️
It’s very disappointing that insurance companies do this. This happened to my mom and she was very educated and on top of her things. She had 3 policies and they were suppose to be an accidental death add on. I hope those that do those things FAIL because that’s really sad. I was blessed to be able to cover her expenses but knowing she thought she was securing life after her passing and they did this is just infuriating.
I'm so sorry for your loss. As a licensed life insurance agent, I can tell you that it's the fault of the actual agent who deceptively sold the policy...the insurance company is simply acting on the signed contract. Also, this conduct is grounds for license suspension or revocation, but families must report the agent's misconduct to that state's Commissioner of Insurance where they're licensed.
@@melaninmoxiellc963As a former life insurance agent as well; I can tell you that agents are covered by errors & ommissions insurance. There may be possible recourse to sue if the agent acted fraudulently. It may be worth checking into.

So very true I wish my family could understand this I've been diagnosed now for 21 years in Lord knows it has been a journey but he has brought me through and then my footsteps when I was too weak 🙏🏾🙏🏾
We really need to understand how trauma is so linked to illnesses. Bless you for being some light in her life!!!! ❤❤❤ light ✨️ she is.
Yes, a lot of autoimmune diseases are diagnosed after majorly stressful events.
Well said ❤🕊💖🙏
@@Mia-yp9ydThere is also a huge link with low vitamin D, and gluten/dairy intolerance. If you have an autoimmune disease or are having stomach issues see your Dr. and look into it. I have been dairy and gluten free for 15/18 years now. I also take 3,000iu of vitamin D3 a day & D2 with my Dr's advice. The daughter needs to investigate. Insurance companies are notorious for withholding payments on a technicality. She needs go after the Insurance advisor and seek legal assistance.
Excellent advice. You are absolutely correct ❤❤
I agree because what kind of policy is strictly accidental? Normally, that would be a supplement to the original policy. And what kind of insurance company would've taken her on when she had pre-existing detrimental health issues? Sounds like they scammed her, knowing damn well that they had no plans on covering her.

I hope you and her family find peace. RIP to your client.

She really looks beautiful!! I bet this really helped her spirit.
It’s very disappointing that insurance companies do this. This happened to my mom and she was very educated and on top of her things. She had 3 policies and they were suppose to be an accidental death add on. I hope those that do those things FAIL because that’s really sad.
I hope this comment can get pinned because another lady went through the same thing. This is fraudulent and needs to be stopped. 😢
So sad 😢 there’s almost $12,000 in the angel 👼 fund! Amazing ❤
It’s really sad that she was faced with so many challenges in life. Her fund is currently over 30K. I’m adding something and pray that she can properly be laid to rest 🙏🏽🕊️❤
@@Peace147dI just added also.
Carla, I'm so, so sorry. May the LORD comfort, keep and strengthen you and her entire family.🙏🏾
She's so beautiful, I had tears fall when she looked directly into the camera. Her smile and her spirit touched me
So Beautiful She Was. That Hair Style Looked Beautiful On Her.
Awww Carla praying for her family, daughter & yourself as well. I just loss two of my clients & it’s truly hard to build such a bond with someone over the years for so long & then within a blink of an eye they’re gone. 😢🙏🏽❤️
Hello sorry for your loss. Yes she was like a little sister. She always had a positive attitude even after she got all the negative news
My mother was diagnosed with lupus in 1993. She succumbed to it in December 2004. God is good...and bless the family that she has left behind. May the peace of God fall on her family and all who loved her. Thank you for being a blessing in her life. The women that go to the salon that I go to are very special to me. My stylist and her clients are like family. Unfortunately, we just lost a dear friend of our as well. Stylists become family over the years...and you were definitely a friend to her. Condolences to you as well, sister.
Very great job I pray for her family she look so pretty!
I lost my mother at nine to Lupus. This touched my heart to the core. I gave and thank you for sharing and helping this baby.
