4 months later and no updates from Mobvoi....shocking.
I just received wear os 4 on my ticwatch pro 5 today and it's insane pretty good update ❤
WearOS 4 is finally out for TicWatch Pro 5
Do you mind checking out the update?
Man, that's hilarious. I gave this watch a try a few months ago and I ended up returning it because of a lot of different problems. Too little, too late couldn't be closer to the truth...
Mobvoi's official slogan should be "Too Little, Too Late". As an owner of the TicWatch Pro 3 GPS, I can speak with authority on their virtually non-existent software upgrade support. Too bad, since as you correctly stated, the hardware is very solid. But they burned all their TicWatch 3 users in my opinion, and I'll never touch another watch from them.
I have to agree this watch sits on my backburner due to lack up any kind of update.
I have the Galaxy Watch 7, Oneplus 2, TicWatch 5, Amazfit limited, and my apple watches and apple watch ultra, I am chucking this one into my drawer. I am just not a fan of the watch design, i prefer the flush glass of the oneplus and amazfit.
Jist recently bought a ticwatch pro 3 and I'm really liking it. Will the ticwatch pro 3 get wear os 4?
Absolutely not, unfortunately.
I had a tic watch pro 3 and the only thing I miss about it was the battery life, I would almost get 3 days and now I got the pixel watch 2 and I have to charge it daily
Are you advising that it's best to avoid? I love the whole concept of this watch. However the OnePlus watch 2 is very close overall with the battery life and wear os 4.
Buy it for what it is RIGHT NOW lol. Still a great watch, just not going to ever change much.
@@scaryifliteral yeah agreed on that. The OnePlus seems to be forever changing for the better. I love the LCD screen but I'm more concerned of the security updates.
The watch is great out of the box. What're the main changes/features you'd want to see in the update? BTW I have the same combo - oneplus open with this watch!
To be honest, my one main gripe with it was performance. Most watch faces including third party ones like facer had a lot of lag compared to other smart watches, even my Galaxy watch 3. That and for some reason, the bezel wheels started clicking after a few weeks of use, but I'm guessing that was a rare hardware defect.
A lot of this stuff is more a point of principal. If I spend $200+ on a watch, I expect the software support to be good. There are plenty of other watches out there that live up to that far better. It's still a great watch, it's just a shame that as my Pixel Watch gets better and better, this thing stays exactly where it started.
@@scaryifliteral I agree. But if there are truly any features that 'delight' users or are truly functional, that'd be great. Else, for me the watch is good as it is.
My Mobvoi Health app allows the app to connect directly with Google Fit account so data go directly to Google Fit - it does mean you get some odd disparities if Google Fit collects data from other apps via Health Connect or directly from the pedometer on the phone (why does Mobvoi Health not merge phone/watch steps in the app itself so you get a combined value on Mobvoi watch faces and the AOD LCD screen?? Oh and on the software front any news when the original TW Pro 5 will get the software update so it matches the new combined health apps on the Enduro version??
Just got the update and it's probably the most underwhelming update in the history of updates
2 Months later still no word of the update.
Yep, probably by the time Wear OS 6 is released we'll get the update
What about the OnePlus watch 2. What do u think about it?
I've been waiting on the ability to switch phone without a reset to consider it.
Whats that watch face?
Well Chinese are bad at updates really when it comes down to devices.
